I contacted several handymen to give me estimates for a list of projects I had. Nick came to look over my projects and I was impressed by his wide ranging knowledge of what was required for each project. My main priority was replacing a fallen wood fence. His estimate was much less expensive than the other estimates. Nick removed the sections of fence that had fallen and disposed of them. He installed a new redwood fence and it looks great. I had explained to Nick what I wanted for the wood fence and he did an excellent job of implementing my requests. Now that the fence is completed, I will be having Nick working on several more projects around the house. I had been trying to find someone to install a pocket door for months when I happened upon Nick's NL Handyman Service Yelp profile. I wrote him and he responded promptly. He came over, quoted me a very reasonable price to install the pocket door and close the other door opening. I purchased the door and installation kit. Also, prior to his visit, I had taken the wall down to the studs. From there, Nick and his helper Oscar did a great job on installing the pocket door and hardware, including running out for an additional part because my pocket door installation kit did not have a floor pocket door guide. I have also included some photos after Nick left where I added paper to the studs (as we are demoing the ugly bathroom) - so you get an idea if he had added drywall, what it would look like. Overall, Nick was very communicative, he arrived when he said he would, he was very polite, cleaned up after himself, and did a great job. Nick replaced the garage stairs from wood to cement. Also had some molds on the drywall next to the stairs that needed to be cut out. He did a superb job cutting the mold out and showed how the mold got into the drywall. He suggested on how to prevent it again from happening which I'm able to do on my own. The stairs looks great! I've hired Nick a few times and he's done great work each time. He's also a super nice guy. He's fixed a sink faucet handle, replaced shower trim, replaced door knobs, and installed a dimmer switch. The shower job turned out to be a lot more difficult than expected due to hard water buildup on the old pieces, but he still charged me the same amount as his initial quote. read more

I reached out to Nick in regard to assembling a Rogue Fold Back Wall Mount Rack. After a slight negotiation on the price, he asked how soon I wanted the project and o be completed. I responded, within a week if possible. Two days later Nick called stating he moved a few things around and could come the next day. He and his partner showed up on time and were eager to get to work. The project took about 4 hours for them to complete. Due to an error with measuring studs in the wall. Once assembled, the rack looked amazing. I had to ask Nick to fill in the holes that were left behind after the error. Which surprised me!! I figured that was a no brainer. I had a fussy kitchen project--installing a new range hood. In addition to rigging the hood itself, the vent ductwork had to be totally changed because the current set-up was considered unsafe. Nick came with an assistant. He had kept me updated on his changing arrival time, due to a previous job. Once they arrived they went straight to work. They revised the ductwork, which required a fair amount of effort. Then the new range hood went in without issue. Nick conscientiously cleaned up at the end. Even while cutting drywall they took the time to spray with water to keep the dust level down.
