Needed a new wood gate to replace old rotted one. Already purchased the wood materials. Wanted new gate to match 2 other existing gates, (in a Z-pattern). Larry wanted to change the design and add purchase of a 2x4x10 lumber. So I politely passed on his service. I don't doubt that he does excellent work, just needed someone to complete MY VISION. See attached photos. My original Yelp ad sought help to replace rotted gate: The project details included 3 photos: rotted gate, wood laid in z pattern, and a finished gate already built by myself. (I have 3 gates. I completed the first one, started on rotted gate, but could not complete because of shoulder injury). His gate is square design. My 25 year old existing gate is the white one. At first I thought a self named "Best Handyman" was corny, but Larry really did live up to that name with the repair job I hired him for. Amongst many other Mickey Mouse jobs done by the previous owner of my house, my dryer duct/vent was leaking layers upon layers of lint due to the poor hook up connection to the dryer and poor duct installation around an old, unused pipe. Like all other home jobs I've contracted out, I gathered 3 estimates and Larry was miles beyond the competition in how thorough and capable he proved to be in advising a solution and by far the most competitively priced for the repair work performed. Larry was extremely detailed in communicating expectations and with invoicing materials and labor. Also, he was the only repair guy to agree that cleaning up the leaked material from the broken connection was a reasonable part of the job unlike other repair guys that needed convincing upon consultation. He did an amazing overall job with cutting away necessary wood and pipe for proper reinstallation of the duct and vacuumed out the leaked mess. His 5 star average is not a surprise and I obviously highly recommend! read more

Larry The Best Handyman is the most reliable and efficient handyman I've ever worked with! We were trying to find a handyman who could assemble our dining room table since it unfortunately did not come with any instructions. The online company we had purchased the table from had vague instructions from their oversees manufacturer so there were delays with the assembling information and what each part was used for. When we opened the box we knew this was a project beyond our scope and needed to hire a professional handyman who could do the job. After much research and calls, I found Larry The Best Handyman and called him to see about his availability and described the dining table assembly we wanted. After corresponding in text messages, it was clear compared to the other handyman we talked to that he knew exactly what to do and which information was missing. He was very responsive and kept a clear communication about the charge as well as his availability which was far out in advance. His price is extremely reasonable and is based on the scope of each project. Since he does get booked often, it was three weeks out before he was able to fit us into his schedule but we were in no rush. We did let him know that if his schedule opened up earlier we could be available and it opened up a week before! He came on time and had all of his equipment and protective gear as well. Due to COVID, he did wear a mask as well as protective foot wear so that it wouldn't damage the floors which is very considerate. Due to the heavy weight of the dining table, my husband did have to assist in lifting the table but Larry got straight to work and measured out what was needed and balanced the table together. After the table was assembled, he even admitted this is probably one of the heaviest dining tables he's seen since it is made out of stone/marble. Larry really is The Best Handyman. He is far and above better than anyone else I've ever hired. I have been reluctant to hire someone because of those past experiences with other handymen, some of which were actually recommended by friends. He worked for approximately 2 half days and removed my old satellite dish and wiring, replaced trim around my windows and installed curtain rods, closed off the old drop mailbox and installed a new locking mailbox, installed a doorbell cam, finished some trim around a doorway and fixed a sagging gate. Due to a lumber shortage, some of the other work has to be delayed until the shortage is over. I am very relieved to know that I can count on Larry to show up on time, be honest as to what he can and cannot do, be reasonably priced and do an awesome job. read more

I contacted Best Handyman for some work around the house with a late night Yelp email. I described some of what I was looking to do with a few pictures of the work site. He responded early the following morning (before 8am) using Yelp. However, he told me he was booked for several weeks and would not be able to attend to my projects till then. I found this refreshing that he new his schedule and didn't overbook himself. I needed these done sooner, so I moved on.
