We highly recommend Pro Handyman Service! I wanted to write this review because we had a request that, while not unique, wasn't that easily categorized under a common household repair category, so we decided we would look for a general handyman that would be able to do it all. We have a sliding barn door for a guest bathroom, and because there was a bit of a gap from the wall to the door, it wasn't very private for our guests, and there was also no latch on the barn door. It's a strange choice for a bathroom, but we also didn't have the budget to change the entire door. I reached out to a few pros to get their assessments, and Pro Handyman Service was not the cheapest option for this job, but they had great reviews and I appreciated that they gave me an upfront quote. The quote actually helped me to budget accordingly, and I didn't feel like there were going to be a bunch of hidden charges that I wouldn't be able to plan for. I also felt that Pro Handyman Service was easy to communicate with and they responded to my questions very quickly over Yelp messages. They are busy, by the way, so try to schedule early so you can get a time slot. Denis arrived at our home promptly and on time, and was very careful to keep the home clean by wearing booties to cover his shoes. He listened and reviewed the situation, then gave us several options based on his opinions and experience. For example, he said he could use either wood or plastic paneling to add a "privacy edge" to the sliding door, and we ultimately settled on wood for the sides and plastic for the top of the door. He had everything needed for the job and just needed to leave to purchase the wood paneling and returned promptly to do the install. He also painted and caulked the new wooden privacy edge on each side of the door. We had already purchased a latch, which he also installed while accommodating the added privacy edge to the door. Denis worked very quickly and efficiently, leaving no mess behind. As you can see from the photos, the installation looks quite neat and clean, and almost looks as if the door came that way. It was nice that he was able to cut the privacy edge to accommodate the baseboard, too. Overall, this was a very positive experience with Pro Handyman Service and we think you'll be pleased with them as well! 5 stars all the way around. Very easy to work with, very direct, professional, and took the time to keep me updated. I had a very odd issue of an extremely shakey washing machine, which after several repair attempts led me to inspect the floor. Denis his colleague showed up to move the washer/dryer and inspect the floor, and determined it was not level (it was VERY uneven). Denis gave me several options for how to proceed. They took the time to show me the support frame under the floor and explain why it wasn't level, and what they could do to level it as much as possible. I had hired Pro Handyman Service to address the floor only, but after they were finished and placed everything back the way it was, Denis asked to see a wash cycle on the washing machine to see if the floor fixed the machine as well - it worked great, no more intense shaking! He did everything well, and we are happy with the work. Things that impressed me: 1. Vlad took time to ask questions about my preferences and gave recommendations. 2. Vlad consistently asked for feedback ("Is this OK?" "Do you like this?") while working on each task to ensure that I would be happy with the end result. 3. The reviews were spot on. They gave me a reasonable quote and scheduled my appointment very quickly and were able to send Vlad the next day. Asked for them to put together a desk, chair and to finish/correct a filing cabinet my spouse attempted to put together and missed a step or did something wrong. Chatting with them was easy. I sent all the information to those I requested a quote from which included information about the three items I bought on Amazon so they knew what they were putting together and where to find the product if additional information was needed. There were some businesses that responded with hourly rates, others asking me to call them (if I wanted to talk, I would have called in the first place lol), others asking for pictures of the items (although they received the information) and others with flat rates. Denis did a fantastic job repairing a portion of our apartment wall! We applied "renter-friendly" wallpaper to a pillar in our living room, but unfortunately it ripped all the paint right off. This was a combination of the adhesive being very strong and the wall paint being very cheap. After Denis assessed the problem(s), he immediately got to work. It seems he might've spackled a bit and sanded down the wall to get a smooth surface, then painted over it. Attaching some photos, but as you can see, the wall looks good as new again! He also went through the rest of our apartment and filled in some of our bigger holes, either from nails, push pins, or command strips. He prepped and sanded down all the holes so that we would be able to repaint them ourselves at a later point. Given the amount of damage in our apartment, there's no way he could've done the job in a short amount of time, so we were happy to do the painting ourselves and save the extra money. read more

Denis removed our bathroom exhaust fan and installed a more powerful and quieter unit, completely resolving our issue with excess moisture. Once he removed the existing unit, he went to Lowe's, sent me some options, came back and installed the new unit. Tenant needed to have her front door/side repaired and a metal security door adjusted -- Denis came through once again with his experience and professionalism. He analyzed the doors, determined a solution, and quickly began the repairs. Security doors have one-way screws which usually makes things more challenging, not for Denis, he was still able to shim it so that it would be balanced when opening/closing. He needed to get additional parts from the local home improvement store and came back within a reasonable time frame considering afternoon traffic and long lines at the store. I had asked them to close off a space between my block wall and the block wall of a neighbor. I was told it would not be perfect, but what was done was not what I had discussed with them and was sloppy, incomplete, and poorly executed. I guessing the handyman doing the work did not think the amount charged by Pro Handyman was enough to cover the cost of supplies and his time, so he devised a plan that used less supplies, without running by me or getting my approval. This meant that blocks were jammed into the opening and cemented in place. The grouting is uneven, and there are gaps where there is very little grout. He also dropped a lot of cement on the ground, which he did not clean up. That has now hardened on the ground, leaving an unsightly mess. This was not what I had discussed with Pro Handyman, and the result looks very unprofessional. Not at all what I had hoped for. read more

He installed a closet door for us and ran into unexpected hiccups but he was able to problem solve and the final result looks great.
