Whenever you call to make an appt you're on hold waiting 45 mins sometimes, and no I'm not exaggerating! One time I went to see her because I was suffering from terrible constipation. I seriously woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall back asleep. I thought I was dying and called the ER who said to check with your PCP. I saw her, gave her my symptoms and she essentially belittled me and made me seem like I was crazy and not sure what I was talking about. I was giving her MY symptoms! I know what's normal and what's not! What I was experiencing was NOT my normal. During our conversation, I asked to use the restroom and my stomach hurt really bad. She ignored me and kept talking. She then had me get up on the table so she could feel my stomach, again I asked if I could use the restroom and she coldly said, "Just get up on the table!". Now if your patient is experiencing debilitating constipation, and they ask to use the restroom suddenly, wouldn't you want them to go?!? At the end of the consultation, all I got was a copay and a referral to a receive an x-Ray. Nothing to tell me how to relieve my pain, medicine such as laxatives, nothing.

I visit different medical practices and doctors affiliated with Henry Ford such as My Family Physician, OBGYN, Optical, Orthopedic & Dermatology Physicians on a yearly check up basis and when I am ill. My review is for a Family Medicine & Primary Care Practice located at 51221 Schoenherr Rd., Suite 201 in Shelby Township, MI. 48315. My records at this medical practice are from visits in December 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 with health check ups or health issues. This Family Medicine provides a wide range of Primary services plus Video Visits, COVID-19 testing, blood work, weight management. I am also a member of "My Chart" with Henry Ford which is wonderful to access on line with Non - Urgent visits, or prescription refills in which I can email my doctor and she will reply back within 24 hours in a text chat message system. My Chart also keeps a record of my visits, test results, doctor reports, billing, and appointments. "My Chart" will also send Me reminders to schedule my yearly Mammogram and Bone Density Tests two months prior from the previous year. My Doctor is Kristen E. Kavanagh, DO who is understanding by using her medical knowledge, showing concern and needed professionalism with great advice and care in her field. This office also has blood testing instead of an outside Lab. If Dr. Kavanagh is unavailable I can also rely on her PA: Angela T. Wilson who shows the same strong professionalism as well. If I could give zero stars I would…read more TL; DR - If you are looking for a practice that offers ridiculously long wait times, an incredibly rude front office staff, and medical care that will feel rushed, careless and like they have no clue that they're doing, this is the place for you! Avoid this place. They will see you for 5 minutes after you've been waiting loooooong past your scheduled appointment time. Multiple times we've waited for over an hour to be seen. This was not an isolated incident as it has happened consistently regardless of when the appt is scheduled (morning, afternoon, etc.). If the care we received was worth it, I don't think we'd mind waiting but in multiple visits the PA/NP (Nicole?) has been neither thorough nor compassionate. I wasn't going to leave a review but was truly shocked to see their high rating so felt I owed the community at large a fair warning. Stay away from this practice unless you are looking for a practice that wastes your time and gives you subpar care. There are better places in the nearby area (Troy, Birmingham) who will value your time and treat you with the compassionate care you deserve. If you are already a patient here, I encourage you to find another practice and potentially look into filing a formal complaint through LARA as well as your insurance company if your "care" was as subpar as ours has been, as I will be looking into. This is absolutely appalling. But at least the front office staff is pleasant! Kidding - they're incredibly rude and unhelpful - negativity attracts negativity. If you're a potential patient give them a call and see how helpful they are about your questions or scheduling before you commit to get a taste of what you'll be dealing with.
