If they can get app on their a game on treating people as an individual and medically dosing them the way they need to be instead of treating them all the same and giving them all the same thing, because we're not all the same, we are very different, what I take you couldn't take or what you take, I couldn't take so everybody metabolizes things very differently, so what I have to say is, if you want to get sober and you want to stay sober, definitely go and meet great people there. Of course, if they rehab, they'll watch. Go back and watch you tell your stories too. There's a lot of people. Some people go there for a new connect. Some people go there because they really want the help to me I really want to help and I want to stay sober. This is the last time I'm going, and this is the last time I'm gonna use. I'm gonna say sober after this. That was sober for 6 and a 1/2 years. And I relapsed last year, so it's a great place. Great people great food. The beds are comfortable. You can listen to music in your room which is big for me. Because I like to listen to music when I'm keep talking. It helps me get through my day and they got tons of food there. You'll never go hungry and the staff loves to talk to people. So never, if you don't feel good, you just tell them it won't bother you. They're very respectful on that number. Run away as there is NO 24/7 physician on staff. They use the urgent care and ER as their physician. The facility is awful. No upkeep or positive environment. They make promises they do not keep! If you happen to go there, get everything promised to you by the SALES person aka admissions in WRITING. There is no chef. No onsite physician. For people in recovery, the nutrition is severely lacking. All food is prison food. There were bugs in my fruit and on my plate. Stray cats inside the building. Facility was on lock down twice because of improper patient admission. Know your rights!! 1. It's all about the money. They do not care about you! You can not leave a Google review and that should say it all. 2. Promises made on the phone need to be in writing. 3. Know about the laws protecting you. This is a FOR PROFIT business and that is all it is! 4. Even Voluntary pay out of pocket and signing out AMA is a requirement. No it is not. 5. You have no obligation to give your social security number to ANY hospital of physician. DO NOT GIVE your social security number. Staff steals. I left without a $300 toothbrush that is on camera but somehow was lost. 6. Advocate for yourself strongly! 7. If you have been know Florida laws. This center is being reported State& Federal. Also to the joint commission. The JCAHO( Joint commission) is the ball buster. They will show up unannounced and give the cop knock. No way this place passes. 8. THE PLACE has been SOLD to new owners. On the 15th of this month, it will be a free for all. 9. No segregated women and mens areas with no doors that lock. HIGHLY disturbing for a female pt. 10. This place misrepresents itself everywhere. Take their Google Bullshit reviews and toss them. It's all Bullshit. If you leave the facility , you have no ability to review as they hand select their testimonials. Big RED FLAG! Google reviews vs here are unbelievable. I want people to seek the help they need and get the help they need. These treatment facilities are feeding off of human suffering like a parasite. If you need help, try to work with an outside facility. Death trap is the word I would use. Take care of your needs just know the facts before so you get the help you deserve and not dehumanizing, for THEIR profit only. They DO NOT CARE about you! I'm not discounting that this place may help people and I know everyone's treatment is different…read more I'm sharing my experience because I wish I had heard something like this before I went. My time at Viamar felt extremely unethical and completely opposite of how the program is displayed online. The conduct of the CEO, Michelle Klinedinst, raised serious concerns about client treatment, professionalism, and ethical standards in the program. She called me "rude, defiant, and disrespectful" in front of a group and said, word for word, "I don't even want you here, I would have kicked you out if you weren't court ordered." Later, in private, she denied saying it and told me I was displaying sociopathy. There was a moment during an intervention where I was having a full breakdown, crying and on the verge of a panic attack, and said I felt suicidal. Her response was, "there you go again, just seeking attention." I still think about that because I was not looking for attention, I was crying for help. The overall environment felt more like control than care. Group therapy felt like being ganged up on rather than supported. We sat in a circle for hours being told what we were doing wrong while struggling with EDs. We were encouraged to share opinions on others' faults. Language like "not functional adults" and "wounded children" was constant. It felt like your identity was being broken down, and questioning anything was discouraged. If you struggled outside structured exercises, it was turned into a character flaw. We were taught psychology concepts that could have been helpful, but in my experience they were used in a way that kept people compliant. It felt like the expectation was to stop being yourself and become whatever they defined as "functional." Some exercises were extremely intense and not trauma-informed. In psychodrama sessions, people screamed at others acting as figures from their past while being told to scream louder and hit objects. While that could help some, it was extremely triggering for others, especially those of us with PTSD who had no choice but to sit through it. There was group punishment for individual actions, which created a culture where patients turned on each other. I broke rules and other patients served the same consequences. I was searching other treatment centers on the TVs and texting on social media, along with discussing a crime documentary that was considered triggering. TVs were removed for everyone (my apologies). The techs, not all, but most came across as unqualified, condescending, and distrustful of clients. I had an accident and when I asked to shower, I was told, "if it's not dripping down your leg then there's nothing I can do." I then tried to access the bathroom and broke the lock, which I take accountability for, but felt the situation was mischaracterized afterward regarding blame placed on ED behaviors. The Clinical Director, Johana Aguilar, brought out AMA papers in a group setting and told people to take one and leave, including clients in fragile medical states. The Medical Director, Sophia Zaretsky, came across as unprofessional, for example, flipping me off in a meeting. The dietician, Leslie Tucci, refused my accommodations, and meal plans were hardly individualized. I chose pork and beef as foods I don't eat but was still served them regularly. The environment made my anxiety and paranoia worse. It felt like a prison. Phones, wallets, and keys were taken. Even though it was voluntary, people who tried to leave were brought back by police. Family calls were timed, monitored, and recorded. Mail was opened and read, and negative comments were not delivered. I wasn't told about a court hearing until the night before. Under the Marchman Act, I was told I had no choice but to stay or go to jail, but with legal counsel I was able to transfer. Even after a few days I didn't feel safe. I felt watched, judged, and unsupported. I went in with trauma and left with more, and it has affected my willingness to seek treatment again. If you're considering this program, please choose a different place to get help. Not every treatment environment is what it claims to be.

Viamar Eating Disorder…read moreCenter may try to sell you on the pretty scenery, but don't let that fool you--this place is a dump located in a bad area, and the care reflects it. Our son got worse while at Viamar. He was supposed to be in a safe, supportive environment--but instead, he came out more broken and discouraged than when he went in. The staff seemed indifferent, the communication was poor, and any concerns we raised were brushed aside. When we asked to pull him out, they refused to release him unless we agreed to pay. There was no compassion--just pressure and threats. It was clear their priority was not our son's health, but getting paid at all costs. To top it off, we are now being charged more than $25,000 for services that were never even provided. We've asked for explanations, but no one has been willing to discuss the outrageous and dishonest billing. It feels like a scam disguised as a treatment center. Our family feels traumatized--not just by the eating disorder, but by the damage this facility caused. Please, if you're looking for real help, stay far away from Viamar.

Recovering isn't always easy, but the kindness and professionalism of your staff made a world of difference to me. I particularly want to mention the nurses Rochell, Sierra, Marthe, and Shernette​ for their patience and encouragement. It's the small things-a friendly check-in or a quick response-that helped me feel like more than a patient. The physical and occupational therapy gym is top-notch. I particularly want to mention Robert, Gloria, Kari Anne, Brie, Jordan, and Carlos who inspired me to work hard in spite of the pain and dizziness to recover. The CNA's were hard working and compassionate. They helped with my basic needs and treated me with respect. I particularly want to mention Miriam, Love, and Betina. Thank you for being there. Social services gave me sound advise through my stay. They made my discharge happen. I particularly want to mention Sol and Mickey. I especially want to thank Sol for intervening in a crises. RUN don't just walk away from this facility! It is the worst experience we have ever had at a…read morehealthcare facility. If you care about your loved one, find a different rehab. We brought so many issues to the executive team during my mom's two week stay. None of it was addressed properly and some things reoccurred. Here are a few examples of the poor care: 1. This morning I learned that my mom's bipap machine was not connected to the oxygen for the entire evening. Her oxygen level was 80 when the morning nurse came in. This is a dangerous level! Until I asked, this was not even documented so that someone could assess it with evening nurse. 2. Multiple times my mom's IV and pill medications that were due 3x a day were given so late in the morning that they had to do two doses close together instead of 8 hours apart. She would have missed her third medication if I wasn't tracking it. 3. Medication was left out in the open on the medication carts. Not only is this illegal but very for some of the residents who wander through the hallways and could take the medication by mistake. See two of many times I took photos of the unattended medication. 4. They are understaffed. It took upwards of half hour to two hours to get my mom changed after she had an accident. This is so unacceptable! The only bright spots of this facility is Bijou, the respiratory therapist and the PT team. They are good but still not worth risking your loved one's life at this facility. Do yourself a favor and do more research to find a better place.
