When I went to leave I realised my new back brace for my broken back I got at the hospital and and other disability supplies were gone from my closet. I asked the nurses and everyone. No one could help me of even seemed to care or look for them, so I had to leave the facilities with out the back brace and suppies I was given in the hospital. The priest hired to say mass can care less about the mass - many times he skips parts of the mass in order to get out of "work" sooner. I am in a different state, so I have a case manager where my mother lives. Katia called myself and my case manager to go over therapy and wound care, etc. We got on the phone and all she does is ask US what we want to know. There were no nurses or doctors or therapist on the line. Gave us no information. Then she calls to tell me my mother is being discharged. Got everything ready and even went down there but she was not discharged. When I questioned her , she just lied and said she never told us that. I have never seen a more UNPROFESSIONAL person in my life. That facility is way too small and everyone ,but Melinda and Jennifer, were a nightmare to deal with. Thank goodness after this hospital stay, she went elsewhere.

If it weren't for me coming everyday and straightening his bed, it would never be done. I know that because my uncle gets out of bed in the morning and sits in his chair. He is sharp as a tack, and said I spoiled them because I would straighten his bed while I was there. 4.According to the website for WESTGATE, it boasts of 'fine dining'. Every food tray that came to the room was cold and not appealing. Cold Eggs in the morning floating in grease from the sausage. Spaghetti in tomato sauce: COLD, 2 fish sticks on a bun and 4 'tater tots': COLD. you get the point. 5. My uncle is a diabetic. He received his dinner tray today after 7pm. And again it was COLD. Thankfully we bought some food with us for him. When asked why they received dinner so late, the nurse said "she didn't get the chance to ask the kitchen because she was busy". So, when you observe that at 6pm the dinner trays have not arrived, you don't call the kitchen? what exactly IS going on in this facility? Please dont send your loved one here!

I wish I can recall who told me about VIP care management, but I had to take a moment and tell you how they came to the rescue. From the very first phone call I made, I was completely reassured from the beginning that I was in good hands. And even today, I still feel like I am as I might have a question from time to time and I can always rely on this firm to guide me in the right direction. VIP care management was able to handle all that was required to get the Medicaid application process as painless as possible. They provided ample information as to what they needed, and I simply scanned and emailed everything to them and before I knew it, my Mom got accepted by Medicaid. They even referred me to an excellent edler care attorney that helped in the process of getting my mom eligible where I had thought it might not be possible. All of the staff were great, and especially Randi who I can say was like family when we spoke. Best thing I every did for my Mom and for myself! Do yourself a favor. Call them and see for yourself.

And we have joined her for dinner several times and the food is upscale and delicious! We especially like the cocktail hour each night in their bar area. I love that there are two restaurants to choose from and there are new specials every night. There are also plenty of fun, interesting shows, activities and exercise classes for her to participate in. She enjoys regular transportation to Publix, the mall, or a doctors appointment. In addition, the grounds and community center are so beautiful and peaceful. A special shout out to many of the wonderful staff members: First our initial contact Lonnie Ehmann who shared her time and talent and layed the foundation for our initial visits. In the 1930's Florida began attracting snowbirds with Finnish roots. Today you can visit a Finish display in the Lake Worth Museum or attend the annual Midnight Sun Festival held annually in Bryant Park. There are also a number of businesses owned by and catering to visiting and resident Finnish and Finnish Americans. Another sign of the Finnish legacy in Lantana is the Finnish American Rest Home. When Lantana and Lake Worth area Finns expressed the need for a place where people could spend their retirement years in the comfort of their own customs Mr. Sam Miller invited everybody interested to attend a meeting at the Tourist Club on October 21, 1970. At this meeting, Mr. Janger donated the first $75.00 to establish the Finnish American Rest Home. The Finish Village has evolved to offer three different levels of care, Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Assisted Living, and Home Care to transition people as people traverse the stages of aging. I was able to visit the Finish Village during the 3rd annual Scandinavian Christmas Market held November 20-22. The event had prepared food and pastries made by St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Lake Worth. The church was founded in 1953 by Finnish immigrants and the official languages of the congregation are English and Finnish. In addition to great food there were items hand made by the church, European candy, meat and cheese, Swedish Christmas ornaments, holiday decorations, jewelry, candles, and more for sale. Outside there were more vendor tents selling crafts and poinsettias and bounce houses for the kids. I have Swedish roots so I especially loved this cultural event. Admission was free which allowed me to be able to spend more liberally on gifts and food. This was my first time attending the Christmas Market but I hope to make it an annual tradition.

Disappointed and Deeply Concerned…read more Darcy Hall Nursing Home claims to care for our loved ones as if they were family--but sadly, that has not been my experience. While this promise sounds reassuring, the reality is far from it. Many of the aides appear frustrated or even annoyed when asked to assist with basic care needs, such as taking a resident to the bathroom or changing a soiled diaper. The looks they give--cold, dismissive, and irritated--make you feel like you're an inconvenience for simply advocating for your loved one. What's even more disheartening is witnessing these same staff members frequently on their phones, chatting away, seemingly prioritizing personal conversations over their professional responsibilities. This is not just unprofessional--it's unacceptable in a facility that should be focused on the well-being and dignity of its residents. Darcy Hall needs to seriously reconsider its hiring practices. Working in elder care is not just a job--it's a calling that requires compassion, patience, and a genuine heart for service. Sadly, it seems that too many of the current aides and nurses are simply there for a paycheck, with little to no investment in the people they are supposed to be caring for. Our loved ones deserve so much better. Darcy Hall can and must do better. One star is not even what they deserve but without selecting one I can't post my review.

Darcy is strictly about money only!!! They could care less about providing quality service. If you have loved ones who are in need of rehabilitation or medical care this is NOT the place for them. I'm sorry I had to give this place a 1 star rating. It should be a negative star. When my mother came to this facility she was able to walk with the assistance of a walker and a cane in September, by mid October she was bed ridden and I never saw my mother walk again. When I took her out of Darcy in January 2019, she was still bed ridden and had begun to develop bed sores due to neglect, dehydration, and malnourishment. I asked on several occasions could they please feed her intravenously, which fell on deaf ears and instead they placed her on a soft food puree diet that did nothing at all, mind you my mother was not a cancer or diabetic patient yet she was losing weight rapidly. When my mother arrived at Darcy she had a private room for about a month and I was paying out of pocket costs for her care. The minute I informed the facility of my intention to apply for medicaid because of the high costs. It was like a major party celebration on New Year's Eve!! They told me welcome to the Darcy Hall family, that's when the party really started. They immediately transferred my mother from a private room and squeezed her into a medicaid pending room that was shared with 2 other persons. Never informing me of this change. My mother's bed and the other person's bed was separated by only a draw curtain. For the most part they just let her lay there in the bed never even moving her from her bed to a wheel chair only once. I had set up a small account for her to buy personal items which Darcy depleted by stating she owed them money at the time I was about to apply for medicaid. The room was definitely too small for 3 persons. I visited my mother on several occasions along with my family and there was no place for us to sit or visit, and if the other patients had visitors you really couldn't sit in there. If your love ones need medications the Darcy staff do not make proper notifications to let you know of the changes. They charge you for everything. The prices are exorbitant and that is just for room and board not including (medications). PLEASE!! if you love your love ones DO NOT PLACE THEM IN DARCY!!! Also read the fine print of your rights. The only matter of concern at Darcy is all about Money Only!! But definitely not about the patient's care. Eventually I had seen and had enough my mother's health was declining rapidly so I took her out of Darcy and brought her home. Darcy's only concern was how I was going to pay them for my mother's care during her stay at their facility. I informed them that upon her release I would pay them in full. Which I did without medicaid assistance, even after paying Darcy I was still receiving bills where I had to complain and show the staff that I didn't owe them nothing. From my experience I would NEVER!!! recommend Darcy Hall to anybody. Do your research and find a better care place for your loved ones. Also pay close attention to the reviews before making a choice. CHOICES DO MATTER!!! Upon reading this negative review Darcy will probably respond to this review via email with the usual give them a call so that they can address this issue. They don't even give you a person to speak to, just the general number. But when contacting them, nothing ever changes. Giving God the praise my mother is no longer at Darcy and my mother's medical bills at Darcy is paid in full so no need for any further dialogue via email, or phone.Thank you Darcy Hall for FAILING my trust and instead providing poor, and inadequate, services to my loved one. Recommendations: 1) Check on your love ones daily. 2) Listen to your love one's complaints. 3)Take pictures of your loved one's body and appearance if possible. Your love one's need your protection too.
