I've always found them to be reliable and honest. when my furnace quit during a recent cold snap they had someone at my house within a couple hours. I was hoping for a minor repair while knowing it was not likely due to the age of the system. the heat exchanger had gone out and i ended up replacing my furnace. not ideal, but Aspen Creek loaned me some space heaters until and installer could come two days later. they were great to work with, courteous and reliable. We've been living in an Infinity Home in Stapleton for 4 years... and the entire time we have been unable to properly control the temp in the house (cold or warm). Honestly, I was thinking that the open concept and the fact we have East/West & North exposure for the bedrooms would make it impossible for the system to balance temps. The teens even changed rooms because of inclement inside temperatures. So, as winter settled in, I figured I needed to call someone to fix it or duct tape the teens mouths! Aspen Creek techs came, diagnosed, had too get parts and make some calls.... they didn't give up fixing an annoying problem of an incorrectly installed HVAC unit. But after going back and forth for a week.... we now have perfect temps across 2 floors and the basement.... each floor now having its own control (totally logical). They were communicative, efficient, extremely polite, neat, Covid safe, AND the problem is absolutely fixed for a very reasonable price!!!!! 2 whole comfortable days as bi-polar Denver can't make up its mind what temp to be outside. They will not do anything unless you fully understand what is going on. One of my furnaces is 2 stage, high efficiency - most of the big name companies that advertise on tv locally do not service 2 stages. Probably because they do not have the expertise. Dan and his team at Aspen Creek really took care of me, diagnosed a complicated problem covered by warranty, and quickly fixed it. Very happy we found this company. We were able to get a new and improved swamp cooler installed for more than half off what another company quoted us. I had heard seen some recommendations on Nextdoor for Aspen Creek so we gave them a call. They came out, looked everything over, got on the roof, checked out the duct work and even called about the city regulations before giving us a quote. They were very thorough unlike the other company that quoted us by pulling out an iPad and highballing us. On our install day they had 4 guys out here and got the job done before the rain came. They not only were impolite to my mum that was visiting but they did a terrible job installing my new AC unit. In less that 2 months it started pouring water inside, I had to hire another company to fix it (and I was without air conditioner for 5 days). When they fixed it, they found out that Aspen Creek had not added any inclination to the wall unit, so it was logical it poured water inside. We called Aspen Creek after our heat went out in our home. I called early in the morning and they were able to get someone to our place later that afternoon. We got a call saying he would be over in 30 minutes, which fell inside the appointment window they originally gave us. Mike showed up with a smile on his face and was extremely friendly and professional. I told him I was curious about the work he was doing and that I wanted to watch (since I had tried to find the solution on my own... unsuccessfully), and he was happy to explain in detail all of the steps he was taking to diagnose the issue. Once the issue was diagnosed, he went to his van to get the tools to fix it. He said he didn't have a particular part that might be needed, but we also may not need that part at all. If we would need to order the part, it would take a couple days for it to come in but he said he had some space heaters on his van that he would be happy to leave for us so we wouldn't be cold in the meantime (the house had gotten down to 48 degrees the night prior, so anything to improve on that would be good). Luckily we didn't end up needing the part but it was great to hear he had an alternative for us and that he would have left some space heaters to keep us warm. After the solution was fixed, Mike said he still wanted to take a picture of the part that was potentially causing the issue. He then uploaded it to our file so that if we have a similar issue in the future, Aspen Creek will already have the part number and they can get it ordered for us a little quicker. I liked that pro-active thinking. I'd definitely recommend them for any furnace needs and I'll be using them again in the future if anything else comes up! read more

In all of my communications with the business and the technician, I did my best to be considerate yet direct. I was clear with the technician, before he left and in two separate conversations, that the mini-splits which displays disappeared while he was in the midst of fiddling with them, we had never had that problem with those two units, ever. In both conversations with the technician, he tried to deflect or evade responsibility while still admitting he did not know about these specific Lennox models, that he had to contact someone else about them. Referencing the other mini-split where this happened once has no bearing on the other two, where this has never been a problem. All of them were fine when he showed up and turned them on, and then while he was turning on all the devices and testing it, pressing buttons and trying to change things with the remote, the displays disappeared. I think this is at the very least a strong correlation and reason to believe it is the technician's fault and responsibility. I called the main office three times after the technician's visit. The second call I left a voicemail being very clear that I felt the technician's lack of response or updates were a growing concern, in part because of what happened with the mini-splits in question. I did mention that I was still trying to be understanding, however, that he was still looking for information, but that I would still like any update at all, rather than feeling ghosted. In my third call, I was clear, too, that though we filed these complaints, if the issue were resolved and handled professionally, we would withdraw. I always sought to be respectful and considerate but make sure our needs were met. While I believe I have reached out in good faith, professionally and clearly, I do not feel the response has been professional. The technician never reached out to me with any updates, even if just with information about his progress. Even after the third phone call, our filing complaints, and a review, I never heard from him. Instead, he responded, very unprofessionally and rudely, to the review. There was no desire to blindside anyone, especially with all of my contact and yet none from him. I simply desire, and still humbly request, reasonable professionalism and accountability. Regarding the lack of accountability, his response to our review was concerningly disingenuous. He implied that the displays disappeared before he did anything, which is plainly untrue. Continuing to deflect to my concerns about a different mini-split, which was also working fine when he showed up, has no bearing on the other two's displays disappearing literally whilst he was in the midst of messing with them. Given we never, ever had a problem with either of the two mini-splits in question, his clear lack of knowledge in how to fix the displays or even how they work, and the fact that they disappeared while he was messing with them, I find it perfectly reasonable to believe it is his fault and responsibility. Our desire was simply for some accountability and professionalism. Of which, we have yet to receive any from the technician in question, who did not once contact us after two weeks, whereas we reached out on three separate occasions seeking some sort of update. Moreover, even if he felt there was some plausible deniability in his likely breaking the displays on our mini-splits, it would not have been hard for him to at least see where we are coming from, treat us with respect, contact us directly after weeks of no response, acknowledge the very likely possibility that he damaged our property, or even that he had been careless given his lack of knowledge about this model. Had we received any contact, seen any self-accountability, this would have likely been a small, minor hiccup. As is, I really feel filing the complaints and further action is our only recourse. I would have highly doubted this problem would even had been difficult to resolve, and we would've had no problem even continuing to do business with them. We are perfectly willing to understand how mistakes happen, but responding with elaborate denial, deflection, evasion, and an inordinate lack of communication and professionalism is simply inexcusable. read more

Edit: In response to the owner's response I was there. I was in the next room with our dog to keep him calm and could hear your discussions with my husband. Additionally, he was live texting me updates the whole time, which grew increasingly frustrated after you broke the displays on the two upstairs boxes of our Lennox mini-splits. I am very frustrated with your response, specifically the part where you state you were shocked by this review. My husband has called 3 different times to try to work this out with your company. We asked for a quote on the boiler and the leak in the air conditioner, and yes, we also asked that you fix the damage that you did to the two upstairs mini-split units because the displays were working before you got there. My husband watched as you pressed a bunch of buttons, the displays disappeared (and still won't come back on; something despite what you stated has never happened before), and you stated "I don't know why that happened. I'm not familiar with this type of mini-split system and will have to call a technician to get help with this system." As you were leaving, my husband asked that you resolve the display system issue as that was clearly something you caused working on a system you were unfamiliar with, something you admit in your response that you had to call someone else to help you understand and something you stated during the service was something you were unfamiliar with. However you simply told my husband "it's not my fault" and my husband told you that he could not understand how a system working when you got there and not working when you left was not your fault. I would hope that you can understand how it does seem to us that you did work on a system that you were unfamiliar with, did cause the displays to go down, and it is reasonable that we would expect you to resolve that in a timely manner. I fail to see how this expectation is suspicious. I appreciate that you're licensed and have worked in Broomfield for a long time. We hired you because your company had good reviews. It's part of why we were so disappointed to have such a terrible experience with you and your company. Furthermore, I did not want to write these reviews or contact the two agencies that work to protect consumers from bad company behavior. We wanted to work this out with your company, called three different times to ask for quotes/updates only to be ghosted and eventually told to go elsewhere, despite that we really feel (because the displays were working before you got here and were not working when you left) that you did damage our system. You had multiple opportunities to call us back or give us an update. We still wanted to give you our business with the boiler issues and the leak and have only asked you to fix what you broke during the service. If you tried to work with us regarding what happened to the displays or had reached out to give us an update, even just to let us know you were still waiting to find out what happened, things would be different. However, instead your only response to us has been the response below where you really misrepresented what happened. Because of the lack of communication, we felt we had no choice but to leave a poor review so other customers would know what our experience was and reach out to other organizations for help in getting the display issue resolved. I am sorry that you feel attacked, but I would hope you can see how frustrating it has been for us to keep getting the run around despite multiple calls to your company, no quotes on the boiler or leak, and no update on the displays. Your lack of response and complete refusal to give us an update or work with us on something that you did in fact cause is really where we feel you and your company failed. I would expect a company with your reputation to be better at communication and issues that occurred during the course of your service call. read more

The guy who installed our furnace 8 years ago, disappeared not long after (luckily our furnace is fine). The guy who installed our air conditioning 5 years ago, did a poor job (which we found out as time went by) and was awful to deal with and continually pointed blame at others for his mistakes. Aspen Creek has been wonderful!! They have been out a number of times for both our furnace and air conditioner. They schedule a window of time and arrive within that scheduled time or earlier when they can. There is always a phone call when the technician is headed our way. We have called in the middle of the night when the heat went out (just to get on their schedule for the following day) and gotten very early morning return calls to be sure we were okay and assess the seriousness of our situation. Both Mike and Dan have been out to our house. They are friendly and knowledgable. They have serviced our furnace and fixed other (thankfully) small glitches with the thermostat and heat over the years. They even showed us how to clean our flame sensor so we don't have to call them back for that particular problem! They have also helped us with our air conditioning and pointed out evidence of a possible sketchy install. One summer they added coolant for us and that seemed to help. However the following summer, we had no cool air again. This time they found evidence of bigger problems. We didn't want to have anything more to do with the guy who installed it, but Aspen wouldn't even give us a price - they encouraged us to push the other guy to honor his warranty and ultimately saved us probably several thousand dollars. They have always charged us reasonably (or not at all!) for their time. We'll be needing a new water heater soon. We won't even bother with estimates from another company. First I spoke to Shannon who took the time to listen to all my questions and concerns about home inspection discrepancies. What's even better is she said their techs are well versed in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. After talking to over half a dozen other companies...which all of them said they would have to send an HVAC tech, a plumber, and electrician....all $100 each just to come out to your house...THEN would give you an on-the-spot estimate on what work needs to be done. That just didn't make sense. I would have to commit because you already spent $300 for them to just go to your house! Mike comes over the next day early than the appointment time, he was very friendly, straight forward, and was able to correct everything on the home inspection list in a little over an hour. I woke up (work nights) at 1245pm on a Saturday afternoon to find that my furnace wasn't working. Thought to myself, well this is sweet, just what I need during this whole Covid-19 lockdown... So I poked around a bit at my furnace to see if I could figure it out. I obviously could not because I'm an idiot. I looked for the closest HVAC place near me with the best reviews and called them up, at 1pm. They said they could have someone on the way shortly. He got here within 20 minutes, found the problem (blown fuse), fixed it while also servicing and tuning it and left at 2pm, and for only 120 bucks. Literally the best home service I've ever had. My 16 year old Ruud Furnace needed a new ignitor, so based on Yelp recommendations, I called Aspen Creek. Shannon was friendly and sent Mike out to fix the furnace. Mike was super friendly and helpful. Replaced the Ignitor, cleared out the burners and a Carbon Monoxide tube (not sure what the technical term is for this..), adjusted the burner flames, polished the sensor and answered all of my DIY questions :~P Aspen seems like a fair, honest, family run business. He clearly has a lot of knowledge about these systems, took the time to explain how each aspect of the system works and provided a lot of insight into what to watch for and fix vs when to replace the unit. I recently read an article that mentioned that it is good to have a furnace inspection performed once a year. Mine is pushing 40 years old and I hadn't had it checked for at least half a decade. The article successfully planted concerns about carbon monoxide danger into my brain, so I searched the net for a local business and decided to try Aspen Creek Heating and Air. Dan was the technician who came out for the service call. He was very personable and he explained everything he checked as he was performing the inspection. Other than replacing the furnace filter every few months, I didn't know anything about furnaces, so I appreciated his explanations. Because of how old my furnace is, I predicted that I might get an aggressive sales pitch for a new one at some point, but it never happened, and my furnace passed inspection. After the furnace inspection, Dan even checked the gas line leading to my water heater for CO and combustible gas leaks. At the time, I thought it was cool that he was going above and beyond the furnace inspection call, but I didn't think that he'd find anything since I never smelled natural gas in the water heater closet. Wrong. His detector found a tiny leak due to a loose nut, which he tightened and fixed. read more

Just had my stock 11 year old capacitor replaced on my AC unit. They suggested replacing it with a turbo unit that was $80 for the part and another $255 for installation (less than 15 minutes). The part is located under a removable panel on the side of the condenser outside the house. You remove a panel, unplug the old capacitor, check it with a tester, loosen a two screw bracket that holds the capacitor to the unit, remove old and slide in new capacitor then plug in three electrical connections and replace the panel with four screws. I went with the stock capacitor, a $20 part since the old one lasted 11 years and paid $265 total. The part does come with a two year warranty with labor. Is this the typical rate to change out a $20 part in under 15 minutes? read more

I've worked with Aspen Creek twice now. Once to have our furnace serviced. I really like that they work with you to only charge you for the stuff you need. While there, they notices a condensation leak due to an improperly installed vent pipe. Rather than just doing the fix and charging me, I was asked if it was something I wanted to do myself and save money since it was such a simple PVC fix. They explained exactly what I needed to do and probably saved my $50 in the process. Today, I got off the phone with them today about and AC issue I've noticed. They were happy to send someone out to take a look, but before just scheduling an appointment, did some over the phone troubleshooting and gave me ideas on a few simple things I could check on my own. She even suggested asking my builder first because it was probably under warranty. They could have easily just sent someone over and charged me a service fee, but taking the time to first understand if that is necessary is the sign of an honest company. It's not often you find such trustworthy service business, but Aspen Creek is definitely one of them. They have won my loyalty as a customer for sure. read more
