I called 6 different firms looking to get our old cast iron boiler replaced. Josh and co did a thorough walk through. I became educated that our existing boiler was too large and that I didn't need to upgrade to a high efficiency one (tradeoffs between efficiency/cost/longevity). Efficient Comfort came back with one of the better bids and I valued the fact that Josh did the exercise of making sure to calculate how much floor board heating we had to right size the boiler. A couple of other companies that I talked to didn't even look at our floor boards and were going to replace our boiler like for like for one that was too large as well as trying to up sell us to more expensive high efficiency boilers. Josh's son, Jake led the crew and were done in a day. They left the boiler room cleaner than before they had arrived and the boiler and the piping/fittings were setup nice and tidy. I wanted to upgrade to a high energy furnace. I called Efficient Comfort expecting an annoying, interminable menu. Instead, Lillian answered the phone and she couldn't have been nicer. She sent me Dan who went through, under and outside my house, all the while explaining exactly what needed to be done. He emailed me a bid the same day. Two weeks later, Dan returned, along with the installation crew, Ruben and his assistant. Dan showed them what went where in, outside and in the crawl space under my house. Installation was complex and took all day. Ruben and his assistant did a great job. They were professional, friendly, respectful and, before they left, Ruben's assistant took the time to make sure I understood how to operate my new furnace. My air conditioner stopped working over the weekend with several guests over, and I was worried that I'd have to wait several days to get someone to come out to look for it. I called Efficient Comfort, and just like the first time, they had someone available the very next day. Definitely a shoutout to Lillian Sanchez, who handled setting up the appointment for me. She was absolutely amazing, happy, professional, and incredibly helpful in answering all my questions. Her friendly demeanor really put me at ease, and it's that type of customer service that will always make me come back. Dan Hogan was the technician they sent, and I must say, he was absolutely amazing as well. Right from the start, he was prompt, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. He wasted no time and got straight to work, swiftly diagnosing the issue. Although I couldn't be present at home during the inspection, Dan made sure to give me a call and explain everything in detail. I really appreciated his clear communication. What impressed me the most about Dan was his integrity. Instead of pushing unnecessary repairs, he recommended waiting and observing to see if the issue would recur. This demonstrated his commitment to providing the most cost-effective solution. However, he did suggest running a diagnostic on the coolant pressure, just to be thorough. Despite his belief that it was unlikely to be the cause, he wanted to eliminate any potential problems. As it turned out, he was right, and the coolant pressure was perfectly fine. Dan Hogan displayed professionalism, efficiency, and courtesy. Decent install pricing, quick service, ripped off for repairs. $300 for a part that costs less than $10. They installed a new unit for me and the price and work was good. The unit stopped working so I removed the panel and diagnosed the problem myself. I didn't want to wait three days for the part to arrive so I called them up and they arrived the same day. When I was told it was $300 to replace a $10 part that has two screws I asked them to leave and had to pay them $100 to drive to my has and give me a quote. I figured as much as $150 but $300 is crazy to me. Better $110 and three days running the fireplace than $300 though. Obviously I'll be using someone else next time. read more

This would be no stars if it was possible. Chuck arrived for a Nest thermostat diagnostic visit with his very bad attitude and big ego way, way out out in front from the get go. It was shocking how hostile and aggressive he was. Some of this awful experience from start to finish included small and large problems. For example, not even a simple thanks for having a ladder at hand and holding it for him to help him in to the attic. When Chuck came down he almost immediately would not just let me finish speaking about the Nest thermostat problem. I pointed his rudeness out and he did not apologize. Chuck soon after just bluntly challenged me and my experience by asking "How long have you been doing this?" I ended up just asking him for an estimate and went to the room next to the ladder to work on something. I later found out he chose to just leave without saying anything at all and no estimate either. I called the office to let them know what had happened. Hopefully they now understand this very just appalling experience means this company will please leave me alone. Do yourself a big favor. Choose to avoid them and save yourself from both wasted time and outright insults. read more

This is a great company! Had my furnace serviced two years ago and they were prompt, kind and knowledgable. Let me know I may want to start saving for a new furnace as mine was over 20 years old. No pressuring to buy one then or from them. Dan was great to work with. Fast forward to this year. A courtesy call asking if I'd like to schedule a furnace service for this year. I had totally forgotten about doing this the year before. Dan came out again and as the previous time was great to work with. Now my furnace was pushing 25 years old and he suggested I start thinking seriously about a new one. No pressure at all. He gave me two straightforward quotes and said to let him know if I had any questions. I decided to go ahead and replace the old furnace with a high efficiency one. As part of selling my current home, I needed to address a concern raised by the buyer's home inspector. After a quick search via Yelp, I made contact with The team at Efficient Comfort. After a quick exchange, we were able to set an initial technician visit to determine what was causing the leakage seen within my HVAC. The next day, Chuck (HVAC tech) came onsite and within about 20 min determined that a gasket had failed. After looking at the manufacturing date of the unit, Chuck suggested we might be able to get the part covered under warranty based on my purchase / move in date. Working with the Efficient Comfort office manager, we were able to indeed get the part free of charge from the manufacturer. That saved me $500. After the part arrived, Chuck came yesterday, replaced it, and the HVAC is ready for its next owner. I will definitely have Efficient Comfort take care of my future HVAC needs should they arise.
