I had 16 teeth pulled and 4 implant posts put in at Aspen Dental in Asheville. I'm only giving 4 stars because their website stated that sedation was available for procedures. It wasn't. So after a brief panic attack, the procedure was done with just numbing. Dr. Cho was AMAZING! She worked QUICKLY and efficiently and was very calming through the entire procedure. Horrbile and Brutal.The appointment 6/24 at Aspen Dental on Airport Rd. was an awful tramatic experience. And I am still hurting badly 3 weeks later and now have TMJ. The DA assistant was so rough he pulled the jaw muscle that caused this. I am now on medication for that. To tell you all that went wrong would take too long. The dental tech got very frustrated.and mad after 40 minutes of grinding on the temp crown he made when I still said it was still not right. He cemented it in even though it was nowhere near rightly fitting. He ground the temp while glued in my mouth without water or suction. I had to go to Urgent Care because it became infected. So a course of antibiotics. The Dr said they way the crown was put in would certainly cause it to get infected. The new Dentist said it was the worst temp she had ever seen. I now have TMD from the trauma to my jaw that was caused by Aspen Dental. Months of PT. The damage done by Aspen Dental maybe permanent. They are the worst dentist I have even been to. And I am old! The staff is nice. The hygienist I saw was great. The dentist was always in a hurry and didn't explain anything. After an emergency visit I was told to call the office if I had questions or concerns. When I called, I could only speak with front office staff who told the doctor my problem and then told me the doctor would look at it again when I came back for my scheduled cleaning which was 3 weeks away. I have good dental insurance. I acquired a Care Credit card to pay nearly $10k for dental work at Aspen. On my first follow up visit to see how my new bridge was working out I was told I owed a $216 copay. This on top of having just paid an outstanding balance on my account. This practice seems to be in the business of squeezing as much money out of their patients as possible. I told them I was not paying another cent and am actively looking for a new dentist. Perhaps, you might think, I am the outlier here and my situation was not the usual experience for others. However, Aspen Dental did the same thing with my wife. They added $2700 to her bill after the credit card paid for the work. Aspen Dental is just a pyramid scheme posing as a medical facility. read more

They pushed me to remove all my upper teeth and leave 8 in the bottom jaw. Worst decision I've made.. I do not feel anymore confident with a hunk of plastic shoved in my mouth.. not only the feeling is horrible the temp set im using is poorly fitted. I have to use so much glue to hold the top plate in after 6 different refiting attemps. They still sag and canter side to side. My bottom partial has broken 2 times while eatting soft food. The first set of extractions they did almost killed me. I had to go to mission hospital call in a specialist to stop the bleeding.. in short They sent me home to die.. I love 3 1/2 pints of blood in total. They ripped my teeth out and said see you later.. bleeding will stop on its own in a few hours... It did not stop. So in short I DO NOT RECOMMEND ASPEN. THEY ARE JUST THERE TO MAKE MONEY. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THIER PATIENTS. I've been so depressed after having this procedure done.. I've contemplated suicide several times in the few months since having this done. Biggest scam of all time. Fake teeth will help you feel better eat better look better... all fucking lies. Aspen dental in Asheville is horrifying! First of all i was told to come in 15 minutes before my cleaning. My apt was at 140 i was there at 1 pm with 4 other cars waiting. doors locked till 145. I DONT HAVE A CAR AND ITS 20 DEGREES STANDING IN THE COLD!! I was told via phone it was 29$. ray and 145 cleaning also a lie. They said "sorry i dont know who said that we only do xray on the first appt" nice I PAID AN UBER AND FROZE FOR NOTHING.. also the woman pokong holes in my gums has NO BED SIDE MANOR AT ALL and oh ya free radiation from waste of time xrays!!!!! I have never had anything wrong with my teeth ever and they told me that I have gingivitis and that I need a $225 cleaning. I recently moved to the area and have been trying to find a dentist. Made an appointment for a routine cleaning three months in advanced, only to show up and find out that my appointment was "somehow canceled in the system". Cool cool cool. They rescheduled me for the following week so I came in and they took x-rays and told me the hygienist was not in so I wouldn't be able to get a cleaning done. Not sure why they didn't call me to let me know as I would have scheduled for a different time. When checking out I wanted to schedule my cleaning and the gal told me I would have to have a "deep clean" which would cost over $500 dollars. I asked if I could just schedule a normal routine cleaning, as I've never had any dental issues (not even a cavity!) and she said that this is their policy. I asked for my x-rays to be emailed to me as I will be looking elsewhere for dental care. On the plus side, everyone was super nice but I'm not down for scammy pitches and forcing people to pay for things they don't need/want. read more

I had an emergency today with TMJ which is very painful but the Asheville office worked me in before my appointment time and did all x-rays needed to eliminate any cavities. TMJ is very hard to address and it was explained in detail and I was given a referral to a TMJ Specialist and told to take over the counter pain relief which made since. It was explained what I needed with oral hygiene made a payment plan and thought I was treated very professionally by all personnel. I'm really disappointed in the receptionists here. I love Dr Cho, she is probably the best dentist I've ever had, she is wasted here. I've waited on the phone for almost 20 minutes to ask an insurance question that I've been waiting MONTHS for a phone call back for. I ended up just having to cancel my appointment since no one wanted to take me off hold or, at least, hang up the phone so I could leave a message. Worst dental experience I've had. They only had a dentist look at me once in 2 years. Charged for a deep cleaning that my insurance didn't cover and wouldn't do my routine cleaning that day. Said they would call to schedule that and never heard from them. Also got charged extra after using my insurance months later for the cleaning. I would not recommend. It was by far the worst experience I have had in a Dentist office. I went there for dentures and they literally yanked my teeth out without any pain management. When I went back for my dentures they just SHOVED the dentures into my mouth. The dental assistant had no idea what she was doing. The dentures never fit properly from the get go. They were literally falling out of my mouth before I could get out the door. I paid $5000 for this dentures and now I can't even use them. I didn't realize until later that I may have to get them refitted. All they wanted was my money. I'm on a fixed income and had to borrow the 5 grand. Pissed off yea I'm pissed off. This was the worst on all levels experience from a dental practice in my opinion. They are chronically under staffed. Cannot keep employees. The Dentists that have bought their place into the chain of Aspen dental do not seem to be qualified to assess the exact needs of the patient and weren't able to answer my questions. They have one part time hygienist and no show travel fill in person. They had their medical records and phone system hacked and still much later cannot function. Never answer their phone or return calls when message has been left..The office manager is new and trying to also do care plan / Billing and didn't get that right. The new xray tech did those wrong twice so I had to endure a third round of those by another person to get a decent viewable set to have the Dentist to look at. My gum disease was in flare-up stage and Dentist did nothing to address this. Only addressed pulling more healthy teeth to accommodate thousands of dollars in partial plates work. 2 hours in their office and all I got done was xrays and a sales pitch to come back for a bunch of work that neither of my previous dentists recommended. I just wanted a cleaning but they were too short staffed. They also discussed the possibility of pulling a molar I've never had issues with or even heard another dentist have concern with? The front desk staff was super nice and helpful and many of the other staff I dealt with were too. However I don't have any confidence the hygienist knew what she was talking about or was effectively communicating with the dentist (she was the one who talked about pulling the tooth). And most of all the corporate culture seems to be to sell you on as much work as possible similar to a car dealership when you just need an oil change. I would strongly recommend avoiding this chain. read more

Evidently, all this business cares about is money. Please do not fall for the denture upgrades. Don't believe what you are told. If you don't go elsewhere, do not fall for the functional try-in. They will walk you out with dentures that will fall out before you get to the door, saying you accepted them. The dentist states I must always wear the lowers with the uppers, but will not make a lower denture that fits. After being promised dentures that I would be able to eat with, this has not happened. Evidently, I have bone loss in my lower gums, which makes fitting a bit harder. I was not told this when the sold me expensive dentures guaranteed to work. I was told that they will not stop until I am happy. Now, all their phone calls are answered by a machine, and they do not return calls. I have asked for an appointment to fix only the lowers (there is a large gap between the denture and the side of my gum). No response. I have asked for my money back, which they offered at my last visit. No response. I have left repeated messages for three weeks. Just avoid Aspen Dental all together. First dealt with the 800 number people and informed them I had an issue, an appt was 9 days away. Booked appt anyway, then called and asked for an antibiotic, due to swelling and pain. Did not ask for pain meds. They had a cancellation, took it and showed for it. Dentist was more concerned with roots from a dead wisdom tooth 20 yrs old than my actual condition. Went in with pain and left in pain, also left with a "plan" for $7500 that did nothing to address my current condition. Happy Holidays! So my jaw is still swollen and I am still in pain, mouth now due to because of the periodontal test of gum poking. Was also told "Advil Dual" is specially formulated for teeth issues. No a combo of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen is not specific. The one good point, when it came to billing/scheduling, Shane printed everything out, didn't pressure and showed me how to get some dental insurance coverage.
