Paid $3600 for a cleaning and gum cleaning. Was quoted $600 for bite guard. Went to pick it up and they wanted $1300! Because they didn't charge enough for my cleaning and prepay for my next cleaning as if I'd ever give them another dime . I walked out and they said I would still owe for the bite guard since they made the mold. They can charge all they want! I am on the fence about giving Aspen between 3 and 4 stars. I visited this practice because I selected the wrong dental plan with my employer. That didn't help my frame of mind knowing I could not visit my regular dentist, whom I like very much. My first visit was a required assessment of my teeth. Then, the cleaning was scheduled. I had to pay $130 out of pocket for this and that (I was able to get it down to $160). I was not too fond of that as cleanings are supposed to be covered in full. After rereading the benefit, it stated something about extra costs. I paid for some special toothpaste and mouth rinse. The cleaning went well. My technician was very kind and gentle. I didn't get the shot for numbing because I needed to facilitate a meeting shortly after my visit. I left with no pain, although there was some bleeding in the back of my mouth during the night. Otherwise, all was well. When I inquired at the front desk about a charge that was supposed to be covered under the insurance benefit, the lady could not help me to my satisfaction (she didn't research the charge or refer me to anyone else). I will handle it independently and get my reimbursement from them by going through the insurance company. My recommendation is to beware. read more

I just returned from a fruitless appointment with Aspen Dental. Luckily it only cost me $29.00. I have been a consumer of regular dental services since 2003 and none of my previous dentists ever said anything like the clowns at Aspen just suggested. First I must have my teeth pulled in favor of a partial dentures. This would be preceded by a "special" gingivitis" cleaning for $468.00. They would not be allowed to provide a regular cleaning because "gingivitis" was detected. They then learned that my dental insurance was from an HMO so they could not accept it. Who would think a dental insurance policy would be underwritten by an HMO. That's down right "UNUSUAL" and scary :-). I felt like I was being sold a "time share" or a money trap. Recently moved to a new state, so I needed a dentist. My mother set me up with Aspen, didn't look too far into them, so I had no idea. Set me up with this plan, and told me it wouldn't be a problem to drop, when my work insurance kicked in. Got my insurance, so I told them to close out the plan, and switch me over to mine, now the "plan" I had is in collections. I'm in for 1700 dollars, with no work done yet. Terrible service I brought my son in on several occasions to have work done only to be told that he needed an exam. No work was ever done now. I need work done and they say I need to pay for exam plus the reason for the visit not good customer service I am pissed. Not to mention that the office did not tell me I was going to have to pay for an exam again when I called before I went to the office. I was told that it was gonna be $90 for an extraction I get there and it's a whole different story. The dentist there Natalie was very abrasive and rude and I didn't like the way she talked to me. I'm human. I deserve to be talked to respectfully just like you. I have medical insurance I can pay my way, but I'm not going to keep paying for exams and nothing is being done. I'm 65 years old and been to dentists on regular cleanings. I always keep healthy with my body with regular checks. Though I had come across a couple of dental clinics that I felt they were not my favorite. But this one is far worse than anyone. I'm not medical professionals but have relatives in this business oversea and in west coast. This one is totally unacceptable. Only if you are ready to let them fool you. This place obviously specializes in ripping people off. My elderly mother has been seeing them for the past year. The first initial visit she lasted 5 hrs, thinking that they were diligent I didn't worry. As the year progressed she has been fitted for on I'm now being told was a temporary partial. That she is now being x-rayed for the permanent structure. They have now ran up over a $1600 bill and still counting. Dr. Ahuja really came through. I had a very bad tooth ache which caused my face to swell. I was in terrible pain. I called around to some dentists and told them my situation, but they all wanted to charge an arm and a leg for having to work on a Sunday. When I called Dr. Ahuja, he immediately showed concern and made me feel like he actually cared about helping me find a solution to my problem. I had visited during the pandemic because my dentist was full and this place had an appointment available. I had to have a tooth extracted, no problem. However, after there was a potential piece of something found when I went to get my implant. Dr. Vanja Alagic, was great in getting me in right way for a 3D Scan, and has given a few follow ups, however, that office staff is horrible. I need the scans sent to my ENT Doctor for a second opinion, and they have been sleeping on it for over a month now at Aspen Dental. Multiple calls, I even went there twice already, and they blame it on their IT team that burns the disc that will provide an interactive scan. They have stated several times that it has been mailed yet, neither myself or my ENT has gotten it. The ENT has also been calling for me and said they haven't seen anything like this before in regard to dentist offices. Meanwhile who knows what this actually is. Today I finally called their corporate line in hopes that they will actually do something there. That same Aspen office staff misquoted getting a bone graph, then tried charging me over $400. After multiple calls, them assuring me everything would be taken care of (don't pay it), and then finally getting angry on the phone because they sent a FINAL COLLECTION NOTICE, threatening to send it in for collections, the office manager there got it cleared up, and I didn't have to pay the added amount...which should not have been charged in the first place. However, that took almost 2 months to do, hence the final notice from their corporate billing. Better off going to Dr. Scott Nagel and Associates if you are in the Northlake Charlotte Area. I should have just waited the extra week with my tooth. I wouldn't have had to go through all of this, had I just went to my regular dentist, not Aspen. read more

This was my first visit to Aspen Dental, as I had new dental insurance. went in for a routine cleaning in DEC 2020. I'm 60 yrs old and get this done twice a year regularly. I ALWAYS hear rave reviews about the condition of my teeth. But somehow, at this place, after 30+ minutes of X-rays taken and retaken, they diagnosed gum disease. Said couldn't clean my teeth without doing a "deep clean" to the tune of about $1200. Told them my history of rave reviews, and that I strongly disagree with this option. They ignored me and instead asked if I could pay $400 deposit. Bye bye. I was not a happy camper as I walked out of that office! i Switched insurance company for 2021 and today went to local family dentist. Guess what? They dish out the "I don't care" attitude once they get your money at this location. I sent a letter addressing some issues I had with the service I received. Its been 2 months and still no response to my letter. They don't return calls in a timely manner. Now before I paid when I would call, they answered the telephone, but since they received my money and insurance information, they don't answer and I have to leave messages and I don't know how many days it'll be before they call back. ​My name is Salomie Davie, I came to Aspen about a year and a half ago. I got a set of dentures,I paid $900 for them.I had to go back 4 times to get work done on them. I am writing because it's 2 years later the dentures are so thin that you can see your hand through them. That just the top,I can't keep the bottom in my mouth they hurt so bad. The customer service is great, but for some reason the lady who makes the dentures kept making mine hurt. It's one dentist fixed the top she came back in and took them out of my mouth and filed them down again so they would be thin and rough.The manger sent me a $50.00 gift card, I think her so much for that but I got to go somewhere else and spend another $900 so that I can eat properly. I don't think that lady like me for some reason. I had my last dentures for almost 10 years and I went back and looked at them and the lining are better than what I am wearing now. They did her X-ray and the dentist stated she needed seven teeth remove within a week, and need implant teeth also. I had a second opinion from my friend that we should go to her dentist to try out. We went to another dental office. We told the dentist what we went to at aspen dental. They did her X-ray once again,and it turned out only one teeth need to remove instead of 7 as aspen dental said to us. I can't believe people just wanted to take our money willing to do anything. Y'all DO NOT do business with aspen dental in Mount airy. They are absolutely by far the most unprofessional, deceitful company I have EVER done business with in my life. This is coming from someone who has worked for corporate companies in customer service. So this is a long story. So back in December of last year I made the decision to get aligners for my teeth because I was having a lot of issues that they would solve. As they are not cheap if was a fairly big decision for my family. When I started my aligners I had a cavity that I was charged for when I paid for my aligners. Now I was in that office once a month for over 6 months under their care. Which means if anything was wrong with my teeth surely the associates there would have seen and taken care of during those many appointments, right? No, so when I was on my last tray my teeth were still crooked. So I went in to get my refinement trays. During this visit I was told I needed about another $3000 worth of work done. That I needed a crown, some kind of antibiotic cone thing for my gums blah blah, before they could order my trays. Now keep in mind I have already paid for my trays so at this point they are withholding property that I have already paid for. During this time I called multiple times, called corporate multiple times and also went to get a second opinion at another dental practice. Turns out I didn't need half of the work done they said I needed done. So I went to their office today to try and get some things resolved. Now keep in mind I have been lied to, mislead, they admitted to not doing things they needed to before my aligners were ordered, admitted to "letting my file fall through the cracks" literally told me that to me face. I told her I wanted a refund for what I wouldn't be receiving from the aligner package that I bought. Which included a number of things I never received. The super nice, wonderful lady (sarcasm at its finest cause she was NOT) told me that the office was willing to do the crown they were trying to charge me for, for free for all the inconvenience. THE CROWN I DONT EVEN NEED according to a very reputable dentist in our area. So basically the office/company screwed me over and plans to do absolutely NOTHING to make it right. I was told my insurance was accepted until they called to confirm my appointment, they asked for my insurance information. Aspen Dental is the worst dentistry I have ever encountered. They made my dentures incorrectly and then couldn't fix them. This caused facial collapse a year later from improperly made dentures. Do not go to these people. They have no idea what they are doing. They also use cheap materials which have caused poor chewing and dentures that move around in your mouth considerably. The dentures I have were supposed to be permanent dentures. I needed new ones within a year from all the problems they caused including facial collapse. Do not go to them. read more

Do not use Aspen Dental. They are either over staffed or overbooked, or both!! I spent 2 hours in a CONSULTATION, which I was under the impression was a scheduled cleaning... 15 minutes of that was actually speaking to a professional. I finally got up and left!! Then I had to go back for the cleaning (another 45 minutes) I needed a filling replaced and spent another visit there.... TWO HOURS in the office. Appt at 5... left at 7... I spent a total of 45-50 minutes WAITING in the room alone. I was given so much novocaine that my eye and nose were numb for 5 hours (until 10:30pm)... I took a photo to document. It's now the next day and my cheek and lip are swollen and painful to the touch. No tooth pain.... The most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. (Dentist and hygienist were very nice but the business practice is absolutely terrible) Go somewhere else!! *update, it's been 24 hours, still swelling and pain to my jaw and cheek, I called and there was no answer... left a voicemail... no call back. read more
