When I got there, I had a severe toothache I mean to the point where it hurts so bad I even felt like I would pass out. Not only did they take me the same day that I called but the introductory is free. It just keeps getting better and better, Everyone there is super nice and the doctor seems like he is really educated. He knows what he's talking about and he is very friendly so you don't have to worry about being nervous. My first time at this location, plenty of parking space, inside-the whole set-up is really nice, the DDS/DMS are very professional as well as the hygienist Danielle and other staff, but on July 14,2025 Mon things changed when I received a phone call from the manager Ms. Rosales that they have to file an Incident Report because the dental assistant dropped the needle on the floor that the Dentist used to numb my gum prior to my procedure not knowing and not telling the Dentist what transpired about the contaminated needle, of course they made me sign paperwork to consent for HIV,HBV,HCV to this day I haven't heard from the HR -Aspen Dental so I contacted my Primary Care Physician and she's willing to order those TESTS for peace of mind. I hope this would be a good lesson for all Health Care Professionals to treat everybody with DIGNITY. read more

Absolutely Horrific Experience - Elk Grove Aspen Dental If I could give negative stars, I would. From the moment I walked into Aspen Dental in Elk Grove, I was treated with complete disregard and neglect. My experience was not only unprofessional--it was traumatic. The dentist extracted my teeth with such violence, it felt like I owed money to the mob. I felt every single extraction. Despite my cries and pleas for him to stop, I sat in that chair for 4.5 hours, screaming and sobbing in pain while the doctor continued as if I was just being dramatic. That's not dental care--that's abuse. Worse, the doctor left an untreated abscess in my mouth, which grew inward toward my brain. The infection became so severe that it blew out my eardrum while trying to escape. That could have killed me. Aspen didn't follow my original treatment plan, which led to increased out-of-pocket expenses. And after 2.5 years of agony and broken promises, they handed me a set of cheap, basic dentures--not the premium ones I was promised to make up for everything I endured. These are poorly made, thick in all the wrong areas, and feel just like the initial healing set. The Elk Grove office itself is a mess. They can't keep a consistent doctor or office manager. The current one is incredibly rude and condescending, with zero customer service skills. I've repeatedly asked for a copy of my full dental chart--including doctor notes--and they keep handing me incomplete documents and treatment plans, as if I can't tell the difference. It feels shady and evasive. Even the regional manager failed to follow through after giving me false hope of resolving my concerns. No call-backs, no accountability, just silence. If I knew then what I know now, I would have run from Aspen Dental. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

He has the best Delta Dental insurance but the office made him pay 100% out of pocket, over $1500.00 dollars for his deep cleaning visits. Delta was billed and denied all claims stating that the doctor was not in network. The office never mentioned they were out of network with the largest insurance company out there. Aspen Dental employees are the friendliest people here in Elk Grove. Receptionist to the assistant to the doctor! And everyone in between. I am going through the process of getting dentures. They are so caring, happy, yet professional!! I was never without teeth after all being pulled. Temporary dentures work great, and I'm excited for next week when I receive my permanent. My insurance was being a little confusing but she had told me I was disqualified from insurance. No i wasn't. She scheduled another app for me. So I took it. I had a horrible experience at the Elk Grove location. My appointment was rescheduled without my knowledge, and my prescription was not sent as requested, despite multiple follow-up calls (3x). The front desk receptionist named Natalia was extremely rude, disrespectful, and talked over me every time I tried explaining my situation. She was dismissive, which was incredibly frustrating to communicate with her. When I told her I need to speak with her supervisor regarding this situation, she rolled her eyes at me! It's important to ensure that front desk staff are trained to interact with patients in a kind and respectful manner! They are the first point of contact for patients and can significantly impact their overall experience. A negative interaction can deter patients from returning to the practice. We are a military family, and once a year around veteran's day, establishments will run specials for veterans to get services done that are either hard to get or not offered by the VA. After hearing from a couple sources that Aspen Dental was doing free services for vets around veteran's day, I called and scheduled an appointment for a teeth cleaning for hubby. DESPITE the closest locating being round trip over 3 hours, we did it anyway because getting the VA to manage dental is a huge pain. The drive over was long, but we figured it was worth it for free dental work. We arrived about 10/15 min before our appointment and the parking lot was dead. I knocked on the door to see if perhaps staff just hadn't opened yet, but nothing. Once our appointment time passed, I called the national Aspen number and tried to figure out what the deal was. Apparently, the representative who I talked to while scheduling the appointment was "able to schedule for a day that shouldn't have been open" or some kind of ridiculousness. We didn't get the day wrong, we didn't get the location wrong, they just booked us an appointment that didn't technically exist and nobody bothered to call us and tell us it was wrong. Ultimately the person we called once we were physically there did pass our frustrations up to a management person. They were apologetic, but they did tell us that it was unlikely even if we had seen someone, that his teeth cleaning would have been done that day anyway. I was furious about this because the representative assured me that since hubby just needed a simple cleaning, they would be able to accommodate that same day. As a gesture of her sincerity, the management person did send us a prepaid gift card to offset the time and gas we spent to get there and sit in a parking lot, but honestly that really didn't quell my frustrations. I am still furious Aspen put all this press out that they are -proud to serve America's vets-, and then turn around and pull this kind of bait and switch. I'm glad now that we know what kind of operation they're running, and glad that we didn't have them do anything to his teeth. We feel like we narrowly missed that bullet and wouldn't recommend doing business with them to anyone, especially vulnerable and underserved populations like America's veterans. read more

Went in with a cracked crown and saw Dr Peterson. She is AMAZING! She went above and beyond and was very patient with my sensitive teeth. Daisy was the RDA and very kind! She explained everything she was going to do and knew her stuff when answering my questions. After the procedure I spoke with Finance and Kaziah was extremely knowledgeable with my insurance and helped me understand what was covered and what was not. From that point, we made a plan. The only problem was the front receptionist. She never looked up when I walked in, I had to approach her. On my way out, after waiting for 15 mins for the receptionist to take my payment, I just walked out! (paid it the next day) She was too busy on her phone to even look up and that's why she is mentioned in this review. For your first impression to customers, this is not good. Last Sunday night, my husband Ryan developed a toothache. Monday morning, he called our dentist, but he couldn't be seen until Friday (today), but he made the appointment anyway. Fast forward to Tuesday morning, and the pain had become almost unbearable, so he figured he would go to another place, just for some relief until he could get to Friday. Enter the assholes at Aspen Dental. They brought Ryan back, did the whole battery of x-rays, looked at the tooth, and then gave him this line of utter sh*t: They said the tooth has decayed beyond being saved, so is the one next to it, fillings won't save it, a root canal won't save it, and it needs to be pulled. It's so bad that the "dentist" said that even doing those things won't matter because it will likely fall out in three months anyway. The "dentist" (more like a sales man), then said Ryan's other molar needs to be pulled too, and that his situation is so bad he needs grafts and implants and several other teeth will be falling out very soon, so they will pull those as well. Ryan inquired about how loose the main tooth was. The guy said it was very loose and that it moved about 3mm. Then when Ryan asked them why he had never heard any of this before, because he had been to our dentist within the last year, THEY INSULT HIM AND SAY, "WELL SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET THE SUBTLE HINTS." These people are so horrible. Today, Ryan went into our dentist, AND THERE ISN'T EVEN A FRIGGIN CAVITY IN THE TOOTH ASPEN WANTED TO PULL; IT'S A HEALTHY TOOTH AND NOT LOOSE AT ALL. There is no threat of any tooth falling out, and our dentist totally disagreed with what the assholes at Aspen dental said. He does have a small gum issue and needs a little work done, but nothing out of the ordinary, and no where near what Aspen "dental" said. DO NOT GO TO ASPEN "DENTAL." They are a scam, owned by a private equity firm, that has been sued many times for giving patients procedures they don't need. read more

If I could give a zero, I would. They recently tried to scam me and told me I had gingivitis when I didn't. I had zero previous issues and all of the sudden it was super bad. They told me I had to schedule a "deep gingivitis" cleaning that was $300. I told them no and asked to schedule a regular cleaning and they told me they wouldn't schedule me for anything except that deep cleaning. I got a second opinion and that dentist knew all about this scam and reassured me I do not have gingivitis. Also, it took them almost 30 minutes to take x-ray pictures of teeth which was super uncomfortable and hurt. The lady had to redo all of them. Please do not let them scam you. read more

The billing is a scam - they offer a great rate to get you to agree to do the work, then hit you with a bill that is outrageous, claiming that the "dental insurance" didn't cover what they expected. What a very modern and up-to-date and state-of-the-art facility. Everyone is very helpful and acknowledgeable. And one of the things I always look for is a turnkey office!!!! You can go and get everything done under 1 roof without having to go across town for this specialist or that specialist.. All is needed is a little bit of time and you get what you need & want. I went to this office looking for dentures or implants on 7-6-23. Blood pressure was taken as well as xrays (blood pressure was high 215/102) and a treatment plan given with price. Came back in on 8-17-23 to schedule treatment and get on the oral surgeons schedule as well as pay for treatment. On the day of surgery I was told due to my high blood pressure he (oral surgeon) would not do the work as I might have a stroke while under general anesthesia and he would not know until a woke up and was told to see my doctor about treatment for my high blood pressure. Made sense. After my doctors care and treatment for the high blood pressure I rescheduled with the oral surgeon on11-14-23. I arrived as scheduled and with nothing said I was given a couple of shots in my gums and he proceeded to remove my teeth (17 teeth) I tried to complain about why am I not asleep and that I can feel everything that he ( the surgeon ) was doing and that I paid for general anesthesia, I was ignored and told not to kick and squirm. This went on for about 1 hour or so. I came back the next day and complained to the office manager about being charged for general anesthesia but was not given to me. She informed me that the general anesthesia was not on my treatment plan on her computer. When I showed her my copy of the treatment plan with general anesthesia on it and charged $ 744.00 she said to bad there will be no deduction for services whether received or not and was told to pay balance of treatment plan if I want to continue with the treatment. I reluctantly paid as they already had 70% of the cost. I also tried speaking with Dr Ragland about the problem with the general anesthesia and was told there is nothing he can do as he is not in charge, even though I paid him $12,000.00 and no one else. Hmm. Now we start the problem with the temporary dentures. These did not fit from day one and after 10 appointments I finally walked away with dentures that didn't fall out of my mouth. The big problem is Dr Ragland seemed to be bothered with me complaining about dentures falling out of my mouth. Some of his comments were odd and rude. Such as "why did you make an appointment of a Friday as everyone is already checked out" and " you'll have to make another appointment, I have someone else coming in" hmm. I had an appointment too and I'm here now. This was the norm. The last time I spoke with Dr Ragland I informed him of my displeasure. Such as, I relied on you expertise and you didn't say one thing about the blood pressure issue, your silence just made me have to wait months longer to get treatment. This caused the oral surgeon to miss out on his share of my money on the day first planned causing him to forget about my general anesthesia, or maybe he was annoyed with me too, hmm. My trust was violated, I was lied to and jerked around for months. Thanks Elk Grove, Aspen Dental. You made a difficult period in my life a miserable and very painful experience. I'll make sure to tell anyone that will listen, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR TREATMENT YOU"LL BE GLAD YOU DID. Please think about this dentist and choose wisely, I wish I had. read more

My experience at Aspen dental Elk Grove was one of the best I've ever had at a dentist office. Malani at the front desk was very welcoming and helped me with my paper work with no questions asked. Assistant Rihanna was so fast and painless with my x-rays. Dr Ragland explained my treatment to me thoroughly in terms I could understand. They were able to squeeze me in for a cleaning right after my new patient visit which was a major plus. Hygienist Jo did a wonderful job on my cleaning. After the appointment office manager Mandy was so understanding and she got me scheduled for my next appointments right then and there. She did a great job at explaining to me what my insurance did cover and didn't and that the amount shown was just an estimate. Overall great experience and great team!
