This was the worse dental visit of my life. You had to be 15 minutes early for your appointment so I got there at 12:15 for a 12:30 appointment. I sat for about an hour in the waiting room. Finally got called to do X-rays. The girl tore my mouth up now i have cuts in my mouth and had me gagging because she put the instruments to far back in my mouth. I finally got a dental room and got in the chair sat for about 2 hours to see a dentist. She had no bedside manners at all. Then she proceeded to tell me that they needed to start pulling teeth! I was like no, I just saw a dentist two months ago and he told me my teeth were good just needed a cleaning. I told her she wrong and and she wasnt pulling my teeth. She left and someone escorts me out of the room I'm thinking she's leading me out to the front. But no she takes me to a lounge room and proceeded to inform me someone would be in to talk to me about a financial plan. I'm Ike wtf. They couldn't even tell me what my co pay was! I ask are you going to clean my teeth? No not until we remove those teeth! I walked out after 3 hours of he'll at aspen dental. Our family discovered Aspen dental is the only local place which is "in network" for our insurance. I saw on here (yelp) their customer service was very lacking in reputation, but with a paucity of options I called to schedule an appointment. The Good: They scheduled me for the same week in which I called. I was very surprised and happy that they confirmed they took my insurance and agreed to get me in so quickly for an exam. The Bad: the day of the appointment they called to discuss the details of my arrival. I told the staff I only wanted a physical exam and then a cleaning, but no x-rays for health reasons. After conferring with the dentist, the staff member told me x-rays were mandatory and would be necessary for a treatment program. As I don't have any issues, only a desire to receive prophylaxis care to keep it that way, I only wanted to buy the service I needed. Aspen dental opted to cancel my appointment for my refusal to receive extra services, rather than just do an old fashioned oral exam and cleaning/polishing. Not impressed. Customer service has seemed to plummet in recent years; turning away clients who won't be upsold is no way todo business. read more

I was scared to death when ii got there. Staff is treated me with such care. I had all 11 teeth extracted, that's all I had left before arriving so fast and so good. I can't thank you enough. Really bad customer service specially in the front desk. The person was really mean and didn't want to provide the prices of what we're going to pay. She was really mean and was asking us to pay in a bad way when we just got there and we wanted to understand what we were going to pay, she didn't want to explain and just ask for the money. I went in for a cleaning, which went fine. 6 months later, I went in for another cleaning. I texted the day before to confirm my appointment. I showed up on time, checked in, waited 30 minutes, and then the receptionist informed me that the hygienist wasn't even there that day. No big deal I thought, we just rescheduled for a few days later. The exact same thing happened again! I confirmed my appointment, showed up on time, waited around, and was told that the hygienist had an emergency and had to leave several hours before I even got there. This Festus office is awful! Their hygienist scheduled my 6 month appointment and when I showed up they tried to charge me $300.00. It was suppose to be free with my insurance. They said it will only be $225.00 with your credit we have. What credit? I had not seen a dentist in over a year just got my cleanings. Found out they had over a $100.00 of my money. If they do that to everyone my that's a huge amount of interest off my money. I called my insurance and tried to let them talk to them about free dental cleanings and they would not discuss it. They then said I could come back in a week and then it would be free. My insurance company said that did not matter how many months apart. Just 2 cleanings a year. So, I finally calmed down after a good month and rescheduled. Guess what? They said I didn't verify my appointment so they gave it away. They did this on purpose. That nasty looking little blond girl at the desk was very rude and then the manager came up and talked to me the same way. Stay away from this place!!! read more

I had four visits at this location and the first appointment was the only one without incident. My second appointment lasted 2 1/2 hours, for a gum cleaning (30 minute) and crown buildup (1 hour). Why? Because they forgot about me and left me in the hygienist room for almost 30 minutes before someone noticed. Then I moved to the crown build up procedure and the dentist was AMAZING. However, the assistant who made my temporary crown (and stated it was the best he had ever made) completely messed it up. It was excessively high and did not fit correctly. When I went back the next day in pain and discomfort, the dentist could not believe the way the temporary fit and looked! She indicated she "would find out who did this". My third appointment was for my permanent crown. Again, the dentist was awesome. However, I needed to meet with the Office Manager to discuss the charges I was being asked to pay. VERY EXPENSIVE. Here is how the pricing works - Aspen can charge whatever they want for their services - does not matter what your insurance company considers "allowed" for the procedure. So you, the patient, are responsible for anything the insurance company deems as "too high" to charge. They do not tell you this at the time of accepting your insurance. As an example, let's say Aspen wants $2,000 to fill your tooth, but your insurance has an agreed amount they will pay of $500 - YOU are responsible for the $1,500 over charge! They can and do charge whatever they want! Then my fourth appointment (scheduled before I knew of the overcharging scam) was for a cleaning. I arrived at 7:25 for a 7:30 appointment and was left to stand out in the rain until they open the doors promptly at 7:31. After checking in, the hygienist came out and said, "I don't know why they scheduled this so soon. We can't do your cleaning for 4 months after the gum cleaning". Aspen Dental in Festus, Missouri on 627 S. Truman Blvd. On 8/11th my daughter and I went for a cleaning. Dr. Davis said my daughter needed sealants and we needed to schedule an appointment ASAP. On our way out we were unable to make appointment due to short staff and our hygienist said someone will call us. I never heard from anyone. On 8/17th I called no one answer and I left a voicemail. Again, I didn't hear back from Aspen. On 8/20 @ 9:32am CST I called back and talked to a receptionist, Cindy (I think). Explain the situation and she refused to make the appointment because she didn't know anything about it and will need to talk to Dr. Davis and will call back. Well, at 3:45pm CST, Cindy never call back. At 3:59pm CST I called back and talk to Randy, I think that's her name. Again, I explained the situation and she placed me on hold to go get my daughter's chart. When she came back Randy ask if I would like to schedule both our cleanings for Feb 2019! By this time smokes was coming out of my ears. I repeated to Randy the reason for my call. She refused to make the appointment and she hung up on me. Aspen Dental, get someone who is well trained and competent in your office. If Randy is not able to do her customers service job she needs to find another job! Choose to go in for a check up, Was closer than my normal dentist. They advised me i had 3 cavity's, Big surprise since i have never had a cavity. Went back to my normal dentist, Big surprise, I have no cavity's, They were going drill and fill on perfectly good teeth just to make a buck. Stay away from this place!!! read more

Great staff and great experience! I got X-rays and cleaning done in a timely manner and was well pleased.

If you want a polite dentist, this is the place. If you want a capable dentist, go somewhere else. Hours and hours of waiting and they were unable to make dentures that are even close to fitting. The charges were much higher than initially quoted. read more
