I've reviewed this location before as being a not bad choice for dental care post-COVID, especially considering places around weren't taking new patients. However, it seems to be going downhill with respect to service, with a main contributor being the difficulty getting anyone on the phone. Any call to the office over the last 4+ weeks winds up in voicemail and asking the office manager or receptionist about it just results in some version of "I don't know." It's easy to overhear in the office that several other people have experienced the same problem and get the same response. I think it's probably still a good location for care; it's the service that's challenged at the moment. I'm not a fan of not being able to verify which appointment I need to make when they've scheduled and attempted to confirm multiple appointments for me on successive days -- I came in today just hoping that today was still good and haven't been arbitrarily cancelled because of the other appointments this week. It is likely I'll see if I can find another place between now and my next cleaning/checkup. read more

Horrible new patient experience! Appointment at 8AM. Arrived early... completed everything. Then just WAITED.... Watched 4 others get called back. Seen a guy come in at 8:17AM and he went right back. Watched Miss Chunky showing her face to get her patient. I am good, I don't want someone who doesn't have the$hit together working on my teeth. You eat at home or on your break. The day of my consult, I was casually quoted a proposal of $9,000 for the work to be done, completely ignoring my insurance. I laughed and left. I was on welfare! Went I for replacement flipper for two teeth in front, had the impression done and went back the next day to pick up the flipper. The assistant who helped me fit it agreed that it was not aligned correctly and didn't look correct, she got the dentist and he tried to convince me that it was acceptable and only temporary. I told him I disagree 100% and he told me there is no guarantee but he could talk to the lab. He left the room and I could overhear him berating the assistant for giving me her opinion that it didn't look correct to her, he told her she was not to discuss this with patients and only to let him have this discussion. When he returned I told him I felt it was very unprofessional for him to verbally harass his assistant in earshot of the whole office and that her opinion was important to me as she is the dental assistant. He ordered me out of the office and said he would refund my money. At the counter his office manager demanded the Ill fitting flipper back or there would be no refund. With that I left the office. I have never had such a bad experience with a medical "professional" in my entire life. read more

I got 60 take it out and they go give me some ibuprofen 800. The pain was so severe over the weekend. I called them and explain I needed something stronger. No one has ever called me back after they got my $3000. Everyone is not Medication seeking , some of us are really in pain after 6 damn teeth. read more

I asked about a cleaning while I was in town they wanted xrays I stated no thank just a cleaning. We can't do that without xrays. I said thank you I do not want that, goodby. They sent a $200 bill to my insurance they did not pay they sent me a $200 bill. I called and they did cancel the bill I hope because insurance will pay the bill unless the biller stops the payment. read more

Husband went to this practice and we were told every thing would be covered 100%. lo an behold we get a bill for $140.00 for xrays after being told we would be paying nothing. Went to one visit where there was no cleaning, just a small exam and xrays. I called into the office and the receptionist told me she would " put in a ticket" but if not, we would have an outstanding bill. I said we will not pay and she just hung up on me. I would give ZERO stars if possible. This is a terrible establishment. There is no organization and the information you're provided is different person to person. I was scheduled for a cleaning and when I got there was told I got put into a "new patient" slot and they were only planning to do an exam and X-rays. (Which is also terrible that they waste your time on a "consult" on your first visit and drag you back in for a cleaning later on.) So I drove 45 mins both ways to have my time completely wasted and no one there cared. I will never come back here again. read more

Aspen, this is the worst Dentist place I've ever been to in my life! Well went in for my x rays & I had to talk to my hubby about a crown & didn't make an appt right that day, but called back about a week or two later cause another tooth was bothering me also, but apparently the doctor didn't seem to concerned about that tooth & they were to look at my x rays & get back to me, well i waited almost a week & a half no call back, so again & I called back & just asked them when they planned on calling me back about my teeth & said I'd go in for the crown & than he could check the other tooth out, but that was on voice mail & I asked them to call me back the next day & again THEY ASPEN NEVER CALLED BACK AFTER #2 WEEKS OF WAITING, that's just not right! ASPEN don't care about it's patients, if u can't even them back to get their teeth fixed, its messed up. That's alright I'm going back to my dentist & I'd rather spend my dental cash on a place that gives a shit about their patients. You might want to think about that next time you are like that withj your patients, plus your place is very expensive. read more

It does not even deserve a one star rating. Please if you want to save yourself the money, time, and most especially your teeth don't even go here. Besides being expensive the office is seriously outdated in equipment. The patient dental chair does not even have the side spitting sink with the water and the dentist flipped me all the way back in the chair that my back cracked. Never experienced this type of treatment at a dental office. Those were red flags, the bigger red flag is my wife and I both came out in pain from botched work done here in our second visit. My fillings came out and so did Her's. That should never happen. And I feel like I was being manipulated in the first visit there to leave a good review because they have so many negative reviews. Now I understand why and I'm glad I waited until my work was done there. I surely did not go back to fix what they messed up. I changed my dental plan to find better dentists and they were able to tell us that our fillings have come out. read more

I arrived at my dental appointment Monday 5/23 @ 10am for a cleaning, they were prompt in getting me checked in and taking me back for my cleaning and my hygienist was very nice. She did the normal gum checks then proceeded to descaling and then cleaning. When she was descaling and cleaning, there was a few times when there was pain, both in the back and in the front, enough to make me cringe. When she started on the lower front teeth, I got a sharp shock of pain. She then stated that she forgot to have me sign the waiver. She stop and I briefly scanned and signed. She then proceeded to complete my cleaning. After cleaning was completed she needed to inject a powder antibiotic(a cost to me for $85) into the one back tooth gum area because she said the pocket was large, did not want infection and told me not to use a waterpick for 3 wks for healing. My teeth felt clean but my lip, gums and inside cheeks were extremely sore. I could taste the blood. When I got home, I rinsed my mouth and noticed blood in my mouthwash. I noticed that my gums in the front were cut and took pictures. I had my daughter examine the back teeth/gums/cheeks and she noted a lot of bruising. I then contacted my sister-in-law who was a dental hygienist for 20 yrs, I showed her the photos and explained my visit to the dentist, and told me that some bleeding may happen but the cuts and bruising are not normal even if there was extreme plague build up. She is not aware of any waivers that should have been signed and even if there were should never have been presented to me DURING the procedure. After the cleaning, the dentist did not even come in to exam my teeth which I have never experienced before. Now, 2 days later, I am still taking Advil for pain, not been able to eat nor brush/floss my teeth. I do not have insurance and had to pay(literally finance) $470 for this service. I believe the pricing was unfair for the service that I received which entails the above problems. read more

Will NEVER go back. I was there just short of 2 hours, to have a chipped tooth looked at! Thats it, just looked at! I was in the waiting room for almost an hour when i complained and they put me in a room, where again, i sat. I finally got so mad i left. I'm still annoyed. My boyfriend needed a tooth pulled as soon as he could. He called Wednesday evening thinking he was getting an appointment to get it pulled the next day. Do not use this dental office!! They practice what I call bait and switch. They participate with your insurer ( in this case Delta Dental through AARP) to provide services at a fixed co pay. However, they always insist on doing "upgraded" services that end up costing you much more out of pocket when less expensive, quality options are available. This happened to me earlier in the year with a crown and now most recently with a cleaning. The hygienist insisted that I need a deep cleaning that will cost me $100. She refused to do a normal cleaning on my teeth and stated that she could loose her license if she only preformed a general cleaning (I wasn't born yesterday), despite me specifically requesting one and being duly informed of what she recommended . She also claimed that I had puss between my teeth and gums. I have excellent oral hygiene habits and know that said condition does not exist. I have complained to Delta Dental and AARP about this to no avail. So the bottom line here is that this practice knows how to work the insurance system and apparently Delta Dental and AARP are content to just look the other way. read more

I had a terrible experience there. I'm in pain today. I had no pain at my six month check up but the dentist said I needed a crown right away on a tooth. I trusted him and did it. That's when the nightmare began. They said I had to wear the temporary crown for 19 days. My previous other three were 12 days. The temp came off on day 15 at a restaurant and we had to leave with our food. They have no weekend hours and close at three Friday and have no emergency services, nor would they consider your pain an emergency. I tried leaving messages. No response. I suffered for three days, tried bonding it back on myself with three different products and it would not hold. I slept sitting up till Monday and called. They were unsympathetic and said keep trying to glue, your permanent is in but you'll have to wait for your appt. tomorrow. So kind. After begging them to come in. After getting the permanent I was having throbbing two weeks later. I called today and said can I have a follow up, they said come three days from now and pay $85. I'm serious. Even my dog gets a follow up on a procedure. My insurance said they will pay to get my pain relieved as an emergency visit but the stone cold receptionist said they have no code for that and must be rediagnosed. The pain resulted from the crown procedure! $85 and wait three days or nothing. Left message for manager and no call back. All I want is my dental records to go to a real office. Your pain means nothing to them. The most callous place I have seen in my life. Mind you. I'm in pain NOW. I wasn't before the recommended botched procedure. And my insurance wants to pay for it. Other reviewers say they just want the walkins with no insurance. I am appalled at the lack of empathy. read more

I needed to see a specialist to have a root canal done a couple of months ago. It was hard to find a place that accepted my insurance which is based out of Florida. When I searched my insurance's website for a list of providers I found Aspen Dental in Harrisburg. I scheduled my appointment for a weekday afternoon spot at 2:30. This wasn't my first choice since I had limited vacation time for work to use on appointments. I showed up ahead of my scheduled time and was told that they didn't take my insurance! After some back and forth they quoted me the cost with out insurance; it would be just over $500, only slightly over what my primary dentist had estimated for this type of procedure. I decided to stay for my appointment and continue the process. I ended up waiting for over 3 hours to be seen!!!! I wasted my limited vacation time for this appointment and was only given the excuse that "it gets busy on days that the Endodontist is in the clinic." I then only had a 10 min consultation with the specialist! No one informed me that this first appointment was only for a consultation. I was planning on having the actual root canal performed at this appointment. What a mess! I had to come back at a later date for the procedure. Luckily, I did not have to wait as long to be seen. I paid my balance in full at the end of the appointment and they said I was good to go. A few months later I received a bill in the mail for an extra $307.05! Never did they say that the cost would be $800 dollars. I would have thought twice before agreeing to be treated at their facility. I will be calling to get things straightened out. I have never had such a horrible experience with a health care facility in my life. They acted like I should have known that I would be waiting 3 hours to be seen and that I was only having a 10 minute consultation at my first appointment. Then they quoted me the wrong price for which they are now billing me. Their overall customer service is terrible and the specialist was all over the place when I had my root canal performed. He was doing at least 2 of us at once! I will never go back here or to any other Aspen Dental. Think twice before deciding to go here for your dental needs. read more
