The regular staff was decent, but the dentist didn't know what she was doing. I had an infection in my gum next to the tooth being pulled. I'm allergic to several different antibiotics. The dentist said since I was allergic to everything they usually used, they weren't going to prescribe anything. She stated pulling the tooth next to the infection would get rid of the infection, not surprisingly it did not. I'm not sure where her reasoning came from, but it was flawed. Started off great. Ended in a train wreck. Friendly, personable, seemed to be professionally done. HOWEVER, billing, twice my estimate, never submitted to my insurance. Spoke with them monthly about the final bill. "Oh no don't worry about this until we fix it." Have my insurance info each time we spoke. January they said it'll be fixed by end of month. If I don't hear back, it's been fixed". HOWEVER, 45 days later I'd been turned over to collections AND they won't return my calls anymore AND my insurance company hasn't heard from them. Paid in full now. Fine! Canceled my 3 implants and will go elsewhere moving forward. Buyer beware. read more

don't do it!!!! they take your money and provide no care. they don't call back. they don't keep their scheduled appointments, i have had temp dentures for 6 months, teeth are missing from them. you call and its everyone's first day and they cannot tell you anything and do not call back with the information. If you're not a new patient, make sure you call them to make appointments. I went back after the covid hiatus and made the mistake of making an appointment online. I couldn't get an appointment until two months later. My first visit of three ended up being just getting x-rays. I was 20min early but they didn't see me until half an hour past my appointment time. My second and third visits were to get fillings and cleaning. Coming around lunch time and early in the morning really cut down on the wait time. Overall, I am pleased with my experience. I had a 9:30am emergency appointment. Several office staff indicated they had called an antibiotic prescription in to my pharmacy. The Aspen staff wanted me to get my tooth pulled, and purchase dental implants. I declined as I was there solely for my tooth pain. I called my pharmacy at 1:30pm, three hours after I left their office; the pharmacy did not have my prescription order. I have not heard back from Aspen Dental. they are mad I did not want my tooth pulled , also I declined dental implants. so they are not going to give me an antibiotic. Revengeful. On my initial visit I could tell that everyone I worked with had a wonderful personality and the entire environment seemed to be high energy and happy. I'm bad with names and only have the dentist's name since it's on the prescription, but if you worked with me, you were amazing. On my follow up visit the bedside manner of my dentist, Dr. Liu, was phenomenal, he checked on my state constantly, foresaw my needs and kept me well informed. As a patient, I expect any doctor to be able to successfully perform the procedure we've scheduled within pre-established margins, so bedside manner is the greatest factor in my take-away from the experience. No matter if it's a short visit, a long visit, operation, care, etc, the interpersonal interaction will be what ends up determining the experience. Aspen Dental went above and beyond an acceptable experience and I feel confident in returning and will recommend them to anyone who is seeking a dentist. read more

Aspen Dental is the Trump University of dental practices. My bad review has nothing to do with the employees at Aspen Dental. They were all nice people, so they get an extra star. It has everything to do with the practice of the establishment and how they swindle you into purchasing overpriced dental work. For about a decade I have gone to a highly rated & skilled dentist with a small practice in Squirrel Hill. I never once was charged for a routine cleaning as it was covered by insurance, and this is the same insurance I used at Aspen Dental. I would get two free cleanings a year, and my insurance has never changed. However, my dentist closed his practice and moved on. I had set up another cleaning at another practice in March and then covid hit and my 6-month turned into over a year. I desperately needed a cleaning and decided I would give chain dentistry like Aspen Dental a whirl. They hook-lined-and sinkered me into a $804 "treatment". This meant a "deep cleaning", and I also had two cavities. I asked for an itemized receipt, but I the payments were roughly $490 for the two fillings, and $315 for the deep cleaning. It was not broken down any further. The fillings are on the very high end of average filling costs through google searches. The deep cleaning would involve two "treatments", fluoride rinses (, and I got some pro-denRX gel ($20 on internet), two toothbrushes, floss, and sample tooth paste to boot. The treatments were pretty much; a hygienist scraped my teeth clean the first time, and then I went back, and they scraped them again a little bit and polished them and I left. It was pretty much a cleaning with some rinsing to do at home in between with my expensive fluoride rinse I bought for some reason. My understanding is that this would be considered a type 3 service under my Delta Dental Plan instead of a type 1 that is fully covered. My old dentist never charged me out of pocket for a cleaning. It was covered by the same insurance I used at Aspen. I get two cleanings a year with one x-ray. My old dentist was talented and knew what he was doing. Cavities cost me at most $150 and he did them pain-free & quickly. Though this is not a review on the dentist or staff. This goes to the overall capitalistic practices of the chain itself. Aspen dental is just the consequence of capitalistic dentistry and health care. Even with insurance they find a way to sell you a "deep cleaning" that insurance does not cover that basically a private honest dentist does as a basic cleaning covered by your insurance. There have been class action lawsuits against Aspen Dental for overcharging patients, but who knows, maybe we all do have gum disease after all. I guess you can learn something at Trump University as well. read more

there was a bit of wait but everyone was SO NICE!! the hygienist, the doctor, and the staff were all very very nice. everyone was applogizing and being very considerate. dr liu was very personable and gave me great asian restaurant recommendations! my only complaint was the wait but again everyone profusely apologized and got me taken care of! read more

This locations office manager is smug, unprofessional and rude. She has subpar communication and customer service skills. Our appointment was at 115p and by 130p he still was not seen. They lack urgency as it pertained to timely appointment accuracy. I will NEVER recommend ANYONE to this location nor any Aspen Dental location. Needed 3 wisdom teeth removed. Female doctor said she could pull them. Managed to break 2 of the 3 teeth before she stopped. Then they attempted to push us out the door like it's my problem...find your own surgeon! I had to wait a week..in pain..to see their surgeon and be sedated to remove the 2 broken teeth and the third tooth. I've been to many dentist offices and they said Aspen Dental should have stepped up and got the surgeon into the Waterfront office ASAP! EMERGENCY SURGERY! But no..left me in pain with broken teeth! I went for a simple cleaning in 2011. It is difficult for me to do this during the week, so I scheduled it during my week of vacation. The first day they checked me out, and told me that I had some early gingivitis. Not surprising for me, as I have had it before. Then after talking for a while, they told me that they couldn't do the cleaning today, but that I had to come back for two more visits. They told me that they were going to aggressively treat it, and that it was a complex series of steps. The hygenist also asked what I was using now, and I told her that I was using an electric toothbrush recommended by my last dentist. I was very specific on the brand. She told me it was a very good one. Then said that I needed a take home treatment, but was vague on what was in it, other that it was an intense treatment. I ended up paying over $400 for this kit. When I went home I opened it up to find two things - a bottle of fluoride treatment, and the exact same electric toothbrush. When I went in for my second treatment, which ended up simply being a cleaning, I told her that it was the same toothbrush that I had. Her response was, "Oh, if you don't want it, you can leave it here with us." ???? I then asked what the third visit was for, and she replied "a check up" In short, I paid over $600 total for a cleaning, bottle of fluoride rinse, and the same toothbrush that I had. Jump to 2014 for another cleaning. I hadn't gone back because of my negative experience, but couldn't get into other dentists quick enough for a cleaning. When I called them the receptionist told me that because I had not been there in 3 years, I was not considered an established patient, and that I needed to come in for another consultation. I said "Fine, but can I get a cleaning on the same day?" She said "No." ????? Since they don't have weekend hours, who in the heck can take off 2 days for a cleaning? Avoid this place at all costs.
