Went in for a consultation to extract 28 teeth. Had already seen a dentist that had given the same recommendation, however the dentist did not have an anesthesiologist on staff. After reading about "teeth in a day" I decided to give Aspen a shot. After X-rays and poking and prodding some very painful teeth, the dentist tells me what I already knew - these teeth need to come out. So we go and meet with the office manager to go over numbers. She shows us $20k for the extractions and dentures. So I say, let's forget about dentures for now and just focus on getting these teeth pulled, how much are we looking at for that? $14k! She tells me $1000 is for the anesthesia, so I calculate- $13k divided by 28 teeth. That's $450/tooth!!!! The office manager got flustered and nervous as we questioned the pricing of the whole thing. Since then I've called oral surgeons and a school of dentistry and have gotten MUCH better pricing from both. Still not great, but much less than $14k. My wife came here for severe tooth pain due to a more local dentist having no availabilities within the following weeks. During this visit, she spent over 2.5 hours and all they did was a dental checkup and x-rays to assess her. Apparently short-staffed, they had plenty of receptionists and a treatment manager on hand, maybe try hiring more actual dentists. We only chose this place as they were in-network for our insurance and had openings on the schedule. After the check up, they hit us with a "treatment" plan that was worse than what you get from a scummy car mechanic. Over 5 grand of out-of-pocket costs with little explanation on the real medical needs and procedures. With a need to end the pain, we made an appointment to do a tooth extraction, which they attempted to charge us for up-front. Something that they quickly backed off when challenging the need to do so. Apparently to "Lock in the appointment". Good thing we didn't, because after some phone calls to local dentists and some more research online we found out more about the company's corporate predatory cost and treatment structuring. Highly recommend you avoid this company. Their treatment is slow and they overcharge for everything they can. Truly despicable for a group that is supposed to be helping people in pain. read more

My mother had an awful and embarrassing experience. They wanted her to show the receptionist her problem right there in the lobby and refused to bring her to a room to discuss things privately even though they said they had empty rooms. an hour wait at both appointments I've been to but told that is not the normal , ok but that is all I've experienced. Two staff members lied to my face during my wait, apparently they had spare time on their hands. There was no post op directive, I didn't know i had stiches until after I got home!! Don't know why since it's more beneficial to have all the supply and equipment and at least one SMART certified dentist that only takes state insurance so the clinic can gain more attraction and more client customers. Now for Columbia dental, they take HUSKEY okay, but they do not have the correct equipment at all or a sanitary environment. They refused to pull my teeth that clearly show decaying and show amalgam decaying and I have evidence from a fluid spit test from quest lab showing high levels of murcery from my mouth. And they refused to pull my tooth and when I made a complaint they said it would be too dangerous because risk of infection. That was their poorest stupidest response to ever give out. All dentistry runs risk of infection it's all on the weighing of risk and it would better the health of the patient to have teeth pulled. Obviously it's safer to pull teeth with amalgam fillings than is to drill them out by far because amalgam fillings are about or more than 50% murcery which in fact causes murcery poisoning and in fact since day one it is put in your mouth. Dentist that use amalgam is because they are wanting cheap.peoducts to make more in return from insurance. People need to rise up about amalgam in USA and in fact almost 100 million people have amalgam fillings in USA. SO, it would be in every dentist office that accepts state insurance to hire and promote a SMART certified dentist that will only take state insurance and there for would make more money because majority of the poor are.on state insurance and more.likely need amalgam fillings removed. So, why not think like that and better society and your business and you will have higher traffic for lower reimbursement from state insurance but at least you can have a ten year streak of high traffick amalgam fillings removals. So no, neither Aspen Dental nor Columbia dental in my experience of both are not worth going to for good dentistry work because the cheap products they use and push and neglect the importance of safe removal of amalgam and neglect the patients explained symptoms or expressing pain. There is no test to measure someones pain and even a general dentist can right client expressed longer term pain relative to teeth with amalgam in my professional option is to remove the whole toth or several teeth because of risk factors and keeping the teeth in would cause client more harm for longer than to keep the teeth in and the risk of drilling the amalgam would be by far more dangerous to expose co workers and the client of murcery gases. So such dentist gets paid and pleases the client. I wish I could upload a picture of my mouth and referral and links to prove all what I expressed. But hey people you read this then do your research. Make sure to demand all dentistry to follow proper IAMOT PROTOCOL and force them to buy proper material and equipment so more people are better helped that being denied and living with murcery poison on going like myself. NOT so thrilled now....Had an adjustment done on my dentures....in pain...can't eat. Waited 4 days, called the office on a Monday...told her I couldn't eat due to the pain. NOTHING open until Thursday...said yes, I'll be there. Got to the office....and no appointment for me...and NOTHING available for another week. I know who I spoke with...and told them...and she was sitting right there. ONLY response was "Well, Monday was hectic". It would seem to make sense (to me, at least) that MAYBE you keep a couple of appointment slots open each day for "emergencies". Just not happy that I have had a week of pain...and can't get in to see anyone still. When asked if I got a "reminder phone call/email"...I said no. Impression was "that should have been your clue that you don't have an appointment". HOW am I to know that until it happens??? Since I've had to cut portions of this denture out with scissors, I do NOT want to hear ONE WORD from them.....When your mouth is in pain and you can't eat, you do what you can to relieve the pain... :( read more

If you have any other option, take it. Aspen Dental is the only option on my insurance plan for oral surgery. If I could go anywhere else for my son's impacted wisdom teeth, I would. I've found their office staff, especially the office manager, Jason, to be superficially nice, but thoroughly unconcerned/uneducated about patient care. For instance, office policy requires that they secure payment, in person, before they will schedule even medically necessary surgery. The attitudes and policies are more in line with car dealership than a medical practice. They were so unprofessional during my most recent encounter that the doctor who runs this location told me to bypass the staff and ask for her directly in the future. At least I finally found someone here who seems to care about patient care. read more

Dr Redden is the best! She really cares about the comfort of her patients. Sometimes I have trouble getting numb because of split roots and other problems. I really appreciate how she takes time to make sure I'm comfortable. When I have questions she takes time to explain everything and never makes me feel rushed. The office staff are great too. The staff is extremely nice but terribly busy. I have had dentures, full upper and partial lower, for about six weeks now. I have been able to wear the partial only for about about 6 days. To get in to have a problem fixed takes a long time. I have had to wait many days with swollen lip, gums, and sore open area's, unable to wear the partial till being seen. I have been trying to be patient knowing this was going to be a process that would take time. When my husband got dentures many years ago, he was always taken in same day for problems not made to wait 3 or 4 days. Its hard to be satisfied with service when your in pain and can't go out in public because you can't wear your denture, haven't been able to chew or eat normal for 6 weeks. read more

I've been here a couple times for routine cleaning and it was a good experience overall. The front staff is so friendly, Brandon and Delilah greet me by name when I go in. The girls who do the x-rays are very thorough and upfront about the discomfort of the mouth guards. Sharon the hygienist is efficient and makes it easy to be thoroughly educated about my dental health. While I'm unable to recall the name of the dentist who met with me, he was very kind and did not hesitate to answer any questions I had. read more

Would never return to Aspen dental. I went in for a new patient exam and cleaning but when I arrived I was told my cleaning was not scheduled and that I would have to come back at another time. Appointment was for 5:45pm but was not called on till 6:30pm. Then I was suggested procedures that were expensive and not covered by my insurance. After this experience I decided to get a second opinion. The second dentist said the only thing I needed was a normal cleaning and was able to do it the same day. What an incredible experience. After having horrible experiences at other dentist offices and other Aspen offices I was nervous for my first visit. I was greeted wonderfully when I first arrived, treated great during my dental X-rays, and was amazed at the caring and concern of Dr.Catania. This dentist is very personable and professional and explains any issues at hand and how to correct them. The dental hygienist was very professional and experienced too and recommended a product specifically for my issues. Being happy with my first visit I was about to be even more impressed by their manager who took the time with me to schedule follow up appointments and detailed estimates. My 98 year old mom's upper denture was lost at her rehab. We couldn't get a timely appt at her dentist so we decided to try Aspen Dental in Lisbon. We were so impressed with the job they did! Within two weeks and with the incredible determination of Tracy, my mom has a perfect fitting, realistic denture that puts her old one to shame. They took her quickly and spent a lot of time fitting her. She's in a wheelchair so Tracy worked squatting or on her knees to spare mom the pain of being moved to the dental chair. She fitted 4 times until she got a great fit. The color is perfect and the teeth look real and natural. Mom wore them immediately with no needed adjustments and one week later she's thrilled and eating everything. They applied all coupons and saved us $297. Very nice and helpful office staff and it's not their fault that Aspen Corporate makes them overbook so there is no unproductive time for the dental staff... however, Corporate doesn't get that my time is valuable as well. I rescheduled my appointment at their request so they could fit in just as many customers as they could then at my rescheduled appointment I waited 45 minutes with 2 people ahead of me so I left and will not be going back. I would give minus stars if I could. I had lower teeth extracted on June 28 and got a temporary plate. Made several visits for adjustments. All was well. I was scheduled to get permanent denture on 12/27. I received an email, not a phone call, saying my appointment was moved to 1/7. I went and after sitting and waiting I was told my teeth were processing and they would be ready today, 1/8, and I was given a 10:00 appointment. I sat and waited only to be told again that they are processing and not ready. I would NOT recommend Aspen Dental to anyone. read more

Horrible! Run away. Every visit my family was told they needed more extensive ( read; expensive) dental work. They refused to do x-rays and cleanings on the same visit so you needed to pay for 2 visits for a single cleaning. They spent 15 minutes cleaning my step son's teeth, from beginning to end. Now, that wouldn't be so bad if that's all it took but cleanings typically take longer. They didn't try to upsell him, because he's 15 and dad dropped him off so there was no opportunity to talk to a wallet. I called to speak with the office manager and they put the hygienist on. She initially refused to identify herself but by way of her demeanor I knew it was not the office manager. I told her I didn't want to speak with her and asked for the manager. When the manager refused to call me back in spoke to a regional manager who apologized profusely. Not good enough. My family will never return. read more

first of all my dentures broke after a year and a half,so I called to set up an appointment, and was told I would have to buy a whole new set of dentures. it took me 2 weeks to get that appt, then I had to set up another appt, to get the impressians, so that's already about 3 weeks with no teeth,in the meantime my daughter is in yale new haven hospital,there not expecting her to make it through the weekend, so I called aspen dental and told them my problem,and tried to get an earlier appt, I do not want to go without teeth for everything that's going on,they told me they could get me another appt a day earlier, that doesn't help, I asked them if they listen to the aspen dental recording when they put you on hold, they said that they did not,, it states that they will do whatever it takes to satisfy ,and that they will work with the patients,to help them get what they want,i think all aspen dental employees should listen to that recording,now I have to deal with everything I have to deal with ,with no teeth. read more

I am really disappointed in this facility. My husband needed a root canal for a broken tooth, they assured me that the tooth was viable. We paid for the procedure up front so that they would schedule the appointments, come to find out the tooth was to far gone so they had to pull it. It has been 14 days and they have still not credited back my husbands money. They also charged our insurance company for a full set of x-rays and they only took two films. I have been going to this office for a few years and have always had a very good experience. The office is clean and staff very cordial and professional. This time, however, I encountered a few issues. I noticed the practice has been sold to a new dentist whom I have not met. I had incredibly wonderful experiences with Dr. Vu but she sadly isn't there anymore. The hygienist I have been seeing is not there anymore. There is a new one and she does things very differently. She was being pulled in several directions during my time in the chair and that can only mean one thing to me: they need another hygienist. I waited for several minutes while she did a perio exam on another patient. Then she hurried me through the remainder of my time there. I was then sent to the front to set up further appointments and during that time, another patient was waiting and left because no one could help her in a timely manner.
