I was there for a root canal; didn't get the treatment but I will never go back or recommend that place to anybody. From the moment I stepped in the door that place look dirty and unwelcoming. The area behind the front desk looked trashy and chaotic, there were boxes, papers and personal items everywhere, staff not very friendly and courteous. The floor in the exam room was very dirty; there was literally dirty on the floor and the lead shield for they used for the x-rays was either super old or very dirty. The dentist was very nice and kind but seemed tired and in the hurry. Apparently, she works in multiple offices and has many patients. She did a 2-minute examination, asked me if I wanted to save the tooth and then walked me to the front to talk with 1 of the staff members about the cost which seems very high. Apparently after the $2,500 from Medicare, I still own $ 373 for the root canal + plus the cost of the crown which is well over $1000. Furthermore, I was told that since Medicare only pay 60% for the consultation, I needed to pay $104. I don't understand why they needed to do another x-ray, why not request the transfer of the x-ray I just had 1 done 3-4 weeks ago. The root canal that that I I need is not in a molar which is a more complicated procedure, yet I was told that I need more than a visit to get it done. I had a root canal done in the past and it wasn't nearly the cost of what they're asking. In conclusion, I feel that if they're going to ask such high price for their service, the least they can do is to offer a clean, welcoming environment and a friendly and understanding staff. Less than 24 hours before my appointment on Nov 21, for cleaning and 6 month check up, Aspen emailed and phoned me to reschedule. They said the hygienist I was to see was no longer there, and they would have to rebook me for next July! I'm 76, have all my own teeth, and would like to keep them. I need 6 month dental care, so I will go elsewhere. This is not the first time Aspen cancelled an appointment on very short notice. When I had a crown break they never returned my phone calls requesting an appointment. They obviously have trouble keeping dentists and hygienists on staff, you never see the same provider twice. I went in for a checkup to get cleared for cardiac surgery and was cleared by the dentist however at checkout I was hounded to get a deep cleaning. I gave in and got financial lending and set the date. I then spoke to my cardiologist office and they said they got my clearance form and all was fine. So, I called and cancelled their 2000 dollar procedure. At which point I was told they were calling my cardiac office to tell them I wasn't getting my teeth deep cleaned and gave them diagnosis's to which I said you are not to call my cardiologist everything is taken care of. They called against my wishes and gave my cardiologist info that was not what the dentist told me. She said I was fine for surgery. The cardiologist office said I needed to get the 2 grand cleaning despite not actually speaking with the dentist. I got another appt elsewhere for another opinion and they refused to electronically send my xrays to the new dentist. Now I am going to try to pick them up and hand deliver as I do not have 2 weeks to wait for them to send forms back and forth. As it is, if I have to have the deep cleaning I will have to wait another 2 weeks before a badly needed surgery. For what they charge they can afford to send dental records electronically. The staff is not professional and had no business calling my cardiologist office when the dentist had given approval. They are money hungry as they want $2000 for the cleaning. The new dentist is less than $500 and they will also give me gas along with Novocain unlike Aspen they only do novocain. Save your time and money. If I could give them a zero I would. read more

If I could give this zero stars, I definitely would. I took my son here for a dental checkup, cleaning and to see what could be done about his cavity. The first time we were there, we got sent home because the dentist didn't "have time" to do a filling. Also, the front desk receptionists are so rude and lazy, one of them wanted to give up just because they couldn't find the insurance info until someone else stepped in and helped. So they scheduled him for another week and a half. We went back on said appointment last Monday. The hygienist was incredible, giving us tips and advice while he cleaned my son's teeth and was going over everything he was doing while also asking questions and answering ours. The dentist was a complete snob! She was rude and very preachy, telling my son not to reach for me when he wasn't. He was just sitting there, still and polite. We had another incredibly horrible experience with the front desk on the way out. I asked if there was anything else needed afterwards and they said they weren't sure and to have a seat. So we did. One of the receptionists looked me dead in the eye and didn't say anything until I walked up and asked if we could go because I kept seeing people just walking out. Another receptionist asked the rude one if there was a chart for him and she said NOPE! She could have told me! What a waste of time! They never greeted us or said bye, either. Honestly, we only went there because it was the soonest appt available but the reviews were bad and I can see why. Will not be recommending, will not be back. Those lazy, rude, dirty looking receptionists need to be fired. They told me the cost would be $32 and I ended up paying $72! Y'all need to get it together. read more

Buyer beware!! Do not let this place work on your teeth. They did an implant on me in 2018 and now the implant is loose. I went to them to find out why. I was told that they could have an "implant specialist" look at it. The "implant specialist" is just a general dentist, not the oral surgeon who actually implanted it. As a part of his "evaluation", he took two finger and moved the crown back and forth. He said "yes", it is just the screw that came loose - the implant didn't fail. I went out to the receptionist and she gave me a quote for a new crown - it was ~2K. After being uncomfortable with this, I wanted to question how he could possibly know - without doing an x-ray , that my implant didn't fail. He told me that we could go back and do an x-ray. After doing the x-ray, he affirmed that it didn't fail. Still not feeling comfortable with such a short eval, I called my dentist that I now see. She told me that I needed to have imaging done, which would show my bone density(a dental cone beam). She referred me to a periodontist who will eval and see if the implant failed or if it is just a screw issue. My regular dentist also stated that the implant should have done as "screw retained" That way, they could simply remove the crown with a screw and then tighten the screw that is at the neck of the implant. Instead, they did a "cement retained", which means that the crown cannot be removed unless you use a drill, damage the crown, and put in a whole new one. Of course, they like the "cement retained" option, because they can charge ~2K whenever something goes wrong! To add insult to injury, they sent me a bill for around $100 for this "evaluation". read more

Bad customer service and rude reception staff at their Carlisle Pike office in Mechanicsburg, PA. They deserve 0 stars. When I call them to make appointment for my teeth cleaning, then keep hanging up on me. If you don't want to bring new patients, you should tell us that from the beginning. You bring us to your office for X-rays and normal checkup, then you charge our insurance a lot of money. What you care is only money, not treating patients. Unfortunately dentistry became trade. I decided to move to another dental clinic in the area. At least I advise not to choose Aspen clinic for new patients. read more

In June of 2022 I had Aspen Dental In Mechanicsburg Pa pull a tooth, when leaving the office I was told they would summit to insurance and bill me for the remanding amount. He we are 10 months later and they have never sent me a bill are filed a claim with my insurance, but instead they turn me into collections. I have done nothing wrong to deserve this have not refused to pay my bill just want to pay the correct amount. This is the most gross negligence of a company or office I have ever seen. They will not answer their phones return calls, their response to another review is we have had a cybersecurity issue, not for the last ten months. Had an abscessed tooth. They pulled his tooth, n 3 others, that they said needed to come out. Also told them he had a filling that was bothering him, n said nothing was wrong with that filling. It's now an abscessed tooth. Asper Dental is shameful. They also sent my poor hubby home with no pain meds or any antibiotics, which he really needy. Spent the weekend in so much pain, n infection developed from the tooth they pulled. Left part of roots. Never again. Then to top it off they overcharged us. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They are criminals, n this place needs to lock the doors n never open them again!! I would not recommend this dentist office. If I could give it zero stars I would. Every time I call I can never speak to a person, I'm always leaving messages. Sometimes I get a call back but most times I do not. I've been coming here for years, but sadly I think this office has really gone down hill. I had an appointment for a crown. I was waiting for almost an hour until I was told that they were still waiting for my Crown to be delivered! So the appointment had to be rescheduled. What a waste of my time. I Had another appointment scheduled. When I called to make the appointment I was told that my appointment was in the morning. My email said my appointment was later in the morning and when I called to confirm my appointment they left a message and said my appointment was for a completely different time than the first two times I was given. I tried to call back and speak to a real person however I just got a prompt to leave a message. While I think the quality of care is just ok, (especially if all you need is a cleaning) the Office is managed very poorly. A few months ago my son and I waiting almost 2 hours for his first appointment. It was literally no cleaning, just X-rays and a quick visit from the doc to come up with a treatment plan. That's it. They completely forgot he was in there. I went to the front desk and told them to get him bc I was leaving. They got him from the room and we left. I hate going to the dentist. I really do. I'm talking full-on nightmares and panic attacks; the works. But I'm a big boy now, and went in for a check up. The initial consult and full set of x-rays are free; that's how they get you in, I guess. The staff has been very professional and friendly, as well as flexible with appointment times. They have taken the time to explain exactly what they are doing (up to the point where I really didn't want to know). I have had Xrays, a cleaning, and a filling done so far, and have two more filling scheduled. (it's been a while.) For 3 filling and a cleaning, it is a lot more affordable than my parent ever made it out to be, which takes off some of the anxiety about going. New to the area, I decided to give this practice a try. I had a new patient appointment for 9:45 this morning which did not include a cleaning which is what I really needed most. I arrived the requested 15 minutes early with the pre-completed paperwork requested. I sat in the waiting for 55 minutes with no explanation as to why my appointment time had not been honored, no apology for why I was being inconvenienced. Even when I made it clear I was leaving for the inattention, no apology was offered. Truly bad office management and arrogance. I have been trying to receive assistance with 3 claims for over 14 months now. Every time they have said they have submitted, the insurance company has not received. I've had to follow up with this numerous times over the last year+. Because of this issue, I had requested to have a copy of my forms so I could submit myself. This was 7 weeks ago and I am still getting the run around and have not heard back from anyone in several weeks since asking to escalate the situation. I will never, ever use this service again. I am currently writing reviews now because they have yet to help with this matter and I have not been able to reach anybody besides a customer service rep who says they can "continue to look into it and make a note to escalate." This is the worst customer service, not from the reps specifically, but from the billing/invoice/claims department. read more

I've worked in a handful of dental offices throughout the country, 15yrs + and never saw such poor time management. My son was new patient and told to come 2:30 /1/2 early to do paperwork. He still was not seen and it was 4:10. I was told by front desk when I asked at 3:45 when we would be seen that the staff had their lunch break but we would be seen shortly. 20min later still not seen. DO NOT GO HERE. EVER....... I went to Aspen Dental today for a minor procedure and I have never experienced anything so careless and unprofessional as my treatment was tonight. I was initially numbed up by the dentist and left in the exam room to numb. I waited over 35 minutes for him to return to start my procedure. Whatever. But then, he started cutting into my gums to remove some tissue and realized he had the wrong tool. So he left me in the exam room chair with bleeding gums and gauze in my mouth for what felt like an eternity. He finally came back to continue the procedure (it took 5 minutes but for some reason I was in the office for almost TWO HOURS).... and dashed out the door when it was finished leaving me with a mouthful of gauze, a bleeding gum, and NO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS. No instructions on how to keep my open wound clean, when it was okay to drink or eat, or anything. I am so disgusted by this treatment. I have enjoyed my experience here in the past with the hygienist Kat, but I will not be returning. I wish I knew the name of the dentist, because I am so disappointed. read more

My dentist was on vacation & I got a horrible toothache in a back molar, so I went to Aspen. I arrived in agony. The intake process took forever and everyone acted as of I weren't in pain!! Finally, the dentist presented her recommendation. She stated the tooth needed a root canal and a crown & the total cost was estimated at over $2,700!! Then, she says she didn't have the time (after I had been there for an hour!!) to do anything that day. She never cared I was in agony!! I left, furious! I wasn't aware my dentist would be back the next day. I saw him & he put a FILLING in the tooth they "could not save" & it cost $100. Haven't had a problem since. I have only been here one time, and without issue. My wife has been here several times, and has not been happy with them. She had a root canal that was drilled too deep, became loose and then became infected a year later. She ended up having that molar removed, instead of enduring more pain of another bad root canal. Her last time time in, they told her we had a $700.00 credit, because they had over charged for her root canal. So we will finish off that credit by using them for cleanings. Meanwhile we will take our business to another local dentist that has some pretty awesome reviews. read more

If I could afford to switch to a different provider for my Invisalign treatment, I would. The experience started off good when they got me in for a consultation for wisdom teeth extraction. At this appointment, they recommended Invisalign to adjust the crowding issue with my front teeth. They had me come back later in the day for a cleaning and to do the photos for Invisalign. I was completely satisfied up until the time my trays came in. They told me the doctor who does the extractions is only in their office once a month so if there was a cancellation for April, they would get me in. If not, they would schedule me for May. I went in for my trays and asked when the doctor was going to be in for May. They said Monday. This all took place on Thursday so imagine my surprise when I realized they never called me to schedule for that. So they scheduled me for it then. But during all this, I'm doing my Invisalign and was given the wrong directions on when and how this process goes by the nurse who put them in my mouth. The office manager corrected her when I was checking out. I chose Aspen because of the extended hours that worked well around my work schedule. I live (and work) a little over an hour away and they were able to see me next day for a desperately needed consultation for my wisdom teeth. As I'm checking out, she tells me I need to be flexible when scheduling because they are down to one doctor. Which is ok, I understand that. It just adds to my frustration now. So fast forward to the day of extraction...they call and say they need to reschedule because of mechanical issues. Ok, that's fine. I asked them to send a work excuse to my employer because I had already taken the day off. She took my employers email and said they would send it over along with FMLA papers for time off after extraction. I go to work and they tell me nothing was sent over to cover my day off. So an entire day goes by with me trying to get a simple work excuse faxed over instead of email and then they call the next day and say the excuse didn't go through so they'll email it. Now fast forward to when they're supposed to put the attachments on my teeth for Invisalign...I didn't get a confirmation text or call like I have in the past so I called to double check that I still had an appointment and since I wasn't given an appointment card or confirmation text, I couldn't remember the time of the appointment. They called back and said the appointment was scheduled for 5pm but asked if I could come in at 4pm. I went in at 4, got checked in and waited until 4:45 to be taken into the room for the attachments where everything was set up and my new trays were out. She said there was an emergency case that took the room that I was supposed to have so they were setting up a new one. I wait in the room for another half hour just for the secretary to come in and say "ok Rebecca". My name is Roxanne...but then she gets on the computer and says "we're going to have to reschedule this". And at this point I am pissed. I drove down an hour earlier just to wait an hour and a half to be told that they couldn't do it. AFTER BEING SET UP IN THE ROOM. So now I have to drive back down tomorrow and then again on Saturday. My extraction is in 3 days and I am honestly terrified. My insurance company recommended them for their quick services and when they ask for feedback, I'll be sure to share my experience. I'll update if it gets better but I'm honestly not sure it will. read more

I easily scheduled an appointment for a yearly check up, expecting to also have a cleaning at the same time (as with every other dentist I've been to); however, I was informed that I would need to schedule a cleaning almost a month after my original appointment. Okay, no problem. I show up for my appointment on the scheduled date only to be informed that there is no appointment in the system for me and that the earliest appointment for a cleaning with their hygienist at a time that coincides with my work schedule isn't until MAY, 2019. I went to Aspen Dental on a whim because I have been having a lot of mouth pain caused by my wisdom teeth coming in. My general dentist didn't have availability and Aspen dental was the 1st available appointment I could get. So I received an email that says please come 15 minutes early to do paperwork. So I arrive 15 minutes early and there's no receptionist so I stand at the desk for 15 minutes. Finally the receptionist comes, she is extremely rude, does not say sorry and just hands me paperwork. I fill it out quickly and then sit and wait for another 30 minutes. My boyfriend was getting irritated and he asked what the wait was about, the receptionist then said that I was late, which was a lie. I then go up to the desk and inform her that I was there 15 minutes earlier and she was the one that was not there . So then they take me back immediately and the x-rays start. The X-ray technician then says "You can call your dad back to look at the x-rays." I said "My dad?" She said yes that guy you are with. I told her that was my boyfriend (who is in his mid 30's, and I'm in my mid 20's). She proceeds to say "Your boyfriend?! Oh my god, how old is he?!" I was disgusted by what she said and told her it isn't a big deal. Then the rest of the appt she kept saying "you're just a baby." The dentist comes back and I tell her I've been having pain, she said "how's your eyesight" I said fine and then she said my wisdom teeth should not be hurting me. At the end of the appointment I go to Check-out. They make me wait in the waiting Room for another 15 minutes until I got to the desk and told them I had to get to work. They promptly take me after that. They tried to get me to schedule with their oral surgeon who is not in my Insurance network. They told me it would be almost $1500 to only get 2 removed. I then informed her that they were impacting and my insurance will cover it 100% if they're impacting. She tells me that the dentist said they were not impacting, which I knew was a lie because my previous dentist already told me they were. So I finally get a referral to go to an oral surgeon of my choice. and I told him that Aspen Dental said that there should not have been any pain caused by my teeth and they were not impacting. He actually laughed and told me just by looking at the X-ray anyone would be able to tell that they are impacting and he said that he can tell they are causing me pain. Aspen dental is the WORST most unprofessional office I've ever been to. I have told everyone about my experience. The dentists there are incompetent and do not care about the patients well-being. They will just lie to get as much money in there pocket as possible. NEVER going back. read more

After you SCHEDULE an appointment, 2 or 3 days BEFOE your appointment you get a CALL from them telling you they are short staffed and they must cancel the appointment! I did all of this in person. Why is the turnover rate so high??? Every time I come in there, there is a new girl up front, new office manager, new doctors, and now a new hygienist? I've been with the same hygienist for 5 years, as well as my girls. She was always very nice and wonderful. The new hygienist isn't her. She wasn't as nice and was more rough. I'm seriously considering finding where Carrie went and not returning to Aspen Dental. This is getting ridiculous.
