I went in for teeth removal, they did one tooth fine. 2 weeks later they took out my wisdom tooth & PARALYZED the right side of my face. I couldn't shut my right eye for about 5 hours. I was terrified. The MD was terrified, she SCREAMED CALL 911. EMT's came took me to hospital. After Aspen Dental paid my bills, they overplayed due to me submitting a bill before my insurance paid. I tried to pay them back the difference today, They wouldn't let me & they DISMISSED me from their office after I paid already for my completion plate. I paid them $1791.00 for my partial & completion plates. I want my refund. The MD was so scared she was trying to comfort me, holding my hand. I almost passed out, took my over shirt off & then I was freezing, shivering. They had nothing to throw over me to get me warm. I was in a bind for finding an office that took my insurance and found this place. I called to confirm and the receptionist Charlie, helped me out and due to some good ol luck I was able to get in and see them right away. the office was super comfy to wait in. I signed and filled out all my forms online so I was able to get right into the chair after a small wait. Judy was there to do my cleaning and x rays all-while keeping good conversation. Dr John checked in and spoke to me about my history so he could know what we were working with. Very professional and broke things down perfectly when it came to my questions. Super nice guy. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the majority of the staff were absolutely lovely. Made an emergency appointment on a Saturday due to a broken tooth that needed extraction. The extraction was the absolute worst dental procedure I've ever had in my life, and I've had A LOT. The dentist was nice but it took her 1.5 hours to remove the tooth. I even had to get up halfway thru the procedure to get another X-Ray because she couldn't get the root out. When it was finally over I was sent home with nothing but an antibiotic and Advil prescription and the gums were missing from the front of my tooth. I made an appointment for a "follow up" 3 days later. She told me that she always calls her patients the next day to check on them. She never called. The pain was worse than I can even try to describe. I tried calling customer service. No one answered. After 2 days of the worst pain of my life I decided that I never want to see that dentist again. I called to cancel my follow up. No one answered the phone. I left a voicemail stating that I was cancelling because I was unhappy with the care I got. No one called me back! After 4 days of indescribable pain I couldn't take it any longer and called around trying to find a dentist to help me. Everyone said that I had no choice but to go back to the original dentist. Finally I called the Aspen Dental office in Chelmsford and they agreed to see me. They took an x-ray and after some initial confusion with the new dentist, Dr. Huang, he assured me that my x-ray looked good and that the pain was most likely the result of the extraction being so traumatic. He was so nice and so caring, so sympathetic to the pain I was in, he gave me a prescription for stronger pain medication and scheduled a follow up. If you live in the Nashua area and are looking for a dentist, do yourself a favor and drive the extra 20 minutes and go to the Chelmsford office instead! read more

Aspen dental is a scam. They tell you the initial intake appointment is all covered, but I still received a bill in the mail. I would have never gotten those uncomfortable x-rays that made me cry from the pain if I knew I would end up paying for them. Well their system went down they lost my treatment plan and now I have bills, chargea and unexpected expenses I never agreed to in the first place. then Dr I liked left and new one comes in with a whole set of new projects, etc. Paid out of pocket a lot of money and still not that far into what needs to be done with no knowledge of what's to come expense wise. Went there because they had a special to get a partial denture. The one they made me look like frankenstein!! And it did not fit at all and hurt terrible. I told the dentist i did not want it and he insisted I take it and try it. It was horrible!! My phone calls to them they said they'd call me back 5 times never did. And the dentist told me I would have to pay 500 cash for a deep cleaning before he would do a couple of fillings, which was not covered by my insurance. All this dentist wants is to take your money, he does not care about his patients at all. I will be seeking a new dentist this year. I arrived to my appointment signed in (no one at the front desk). Waited for them to call me in and 20 minutes later got a text saying sorry they missed me for my appointment. I let them know that I have been sitting in the waiting area and they said oh sorry we will get you back here asap. 20 more minutes and finally get taken back. I was there for a follow up to a pre paid procedure and they did the cleaning after checking the progress. I am then brought out and told I owe $xx dollars. I said I paid for this last time. They said oh we gave you fluoride treatment thats why there is a charge. Well I thought people asked before just doing things that cost extra. I paid the fee respectfully as it was legitimate and let them know never to just add things on without discussion about it costing extra. In short if I showed up 40 minutes late for an appointment I doubt they would see me. So to keep me waiting for 40 minutes should be unacceptable as well. read more

This place is the worst. First off, they scheduled me for my first appointment on a Saturday, per my request. When I arrived for my appointment, mind you the sent me like 10 texts saying cant wait to see you, emails confirming time, voice mail confirming time, only to find out they closed. I waited in the parking lot for 45 mins per the request of their call center for someone to show up, only to find out days later they were not open that day. No sorry form the office when I finally was able to get in. Also, when I arrived for my appointment, I had to wait 30 mins to be seen. I almost walked out. I needed a crown done, had to schedule another appointment. Next appointment for temp crown, waited 30 mins again. When I was finally in the chair the dentist has 0 bed side manner. Made me feel guilty about my gums bleeding, literally shamed me. Today I have to go in for my permanent crown. They did not send me any confirmations for the time, and when I called in had me on hold for 10 mins, kept picking up the line, and instantly pressing hold again. When someone finally was able to answer my question she cut me off mid sentence. I also explained I hope I don't have to wait 30 mins when I arrive, she claims they do their best to stay on schedule. That's a laugh. My insurance only covers this place, and after this procedure, I will pay out of pocket to go somewhere else so I don't have to deal with them anymore. To put it quickly: they'll tell you whatever it is you need to hear so you can buy stuff and pay for more appointments. I first went there because I had dental insurance for the first time, so I could finally afford to get my wisdom tooth removed. It was impacted and growing in funny, so this was a given. I go in, get my "free screening", and am told that not only does my wisdom tooth need out, but I had bad gums and 8 cavities. And I believed it because, hey, I hadn't had a proper cleaning since college, so it was possible that 8 cavities sprung up in the 2 or so years I had been without a dentist. I met with the "consultation" person (who was training another person to take over her job) who gave me the rundown and a payment plan and that was it. Four appointments later, I have my wisdom tooth out and 8 cavities filled. No complaints there, although something didn't feel right when three of the cavities were drilled for maybe 10 seconds each on the outside. I schedule my routine cleaning and go on with my life. Six months later, I come back. There's a different consultation from the lady or the guy she trained, (even though I'm coming back at the exact time and day of the week as every other appointment). I'm being told I have 5 more cavities. Which is odd, because when the dentist asked the hygienist how my teeth were, she said they were fine minus some build-up behind my teeth. The sheer number threw me back, especially since the person in the chair next to me just got 3 fillings. Man, there must be something in the water, here! I'm a young person, brushes my teeth, flosses every other night or so, and eats very few sweets. How did I get 5 cavities in 6 months? The dentist then recommended two types of treatments and products (before getting even one cavity filled), none of which would be covered by insurance (or would cover $5 of it). I'm happy I got a second opinion before scheduling those fillings/treatments or buying those products. I got them checked out by someone else, who essentially said, "What cavities?" At the end of the day, Aspen Dental is a chain business, and they are obviously going to operate a different way. A dentist with his own practice has a lot to lose if he tells his patients their teeth are rotting out of their mouth when they aren't, but a national conglomerate won't have that problem. The people were nice, and I did get a good cleaning out of it. For those going, I'd just be wary of them telling you that you have a million cavities, or some condition that requires you purchases some of their products. read more

I've been skeptical about coming back here as I had a not so good experience with the female doctor. Well I had an appointment scheduled for this morning for 10:45am. Have the card with the time written on it. Never got a reminder for the cleaning. Anyway I showed up 3 minutes late as I apologized for. I accept responsibility for that. I was in the waiting room and wasn't talked to until 10:55. Receptionist told me my appointment was for 10:30. I'm like no it's not. I have it written by the receptionist on a card I got last week. She went and talked with the hygienist and told me I needed to reschedule because I was 25 minutes late. I was livid. I drove all the way there almost killing myself and although I was 3 minutes late to what I thought was a 10:45 appointment she would not take me. What a waste of time out of my already crazy schedule. I own a business and if a client was a few minutes late and had a card with a time that I messed up on I would still take them. I wanted to voice my extreme displeasure in Aspen Dental at the Nashua NH office located at 274 DANIEL WEBSTER HWY #6. Let me take you through the experience: I set up an appointment online on the Aspen Dental website for 7/2 at 1PM. On the day of the appointment at 8:24am I get a text alert that the office is closing early and I will be contacted to reschedule the appointment. At 8:34am (10 minutes later) I get a text alert that they "are excited to meet me at 1PM" and to come 15 minutes early. At 11:24 am I called their number to confirm everything was okay for me to attend the appointment at 1PM. The woman confirmed my appointment was all set for 1PM, the earlier text was a mistake, and she noted in my record that I called to confirm the appointment. I get to the dentist office at 12:45PM and a woman opens the door for me. She is another patient and she obviously has a mental disability. She asks for me to drive her home and she is visibly distraught. There is no one at the front desk. I wait around a few minutes trying to console the other patient and I see a woman in the back of the office. She acknowledges me and comes to the front desk to explain no one is there...they are all on lunch break and aren't due back until 1PM (in just a few minutes). She tells the other patient to stop harassing me and provides me with paperwork. I fill it out and present it to the desk where by this time another woman is there and takes the paperwork, checks something on the computer, and then says I'm all set and to have a seat. Time goes by and people come and go. At 1:30PM she mentions to another patient that they are running late. Periodically I catch her eye or the other woman's eye as they are working. They obviously know I am in the waiting room still waiting to be called. At 1:45PM (after waiting an hour) I go up to the desk and ask the woman how much longer I must wait. She says she isn't sure but will check, then she goes in the back to speak with someone. A few minutes later she re-emerges to apologize and say that I was "double-booked", that "never should have happened", the dentist is "still with another patient and then has to see the other woman in the waiting room before meeting with me" who by the way came in much later than I did. I was given an estimate of a "few minutes longer" but when I said I had somewhere else to be (I have a job and plan my time accordingly...my time is valuable), she informed me that it would probably "be at least 30 more minutes to see the other patient once the current patient is through" and then my appointment was to take about an hour. So that would be another 1.5 hours at least before I would be done for a total of a minimum 2.5 hours at the dentist! That is appalling! I told her that she could cancel my appointment and she asked if I wanted to reschedule. Obviously I said no, thank you and walked out the door never to return. Disgusted-Were going to do drastic Unnecessary work My husband had a cracked infected tooth he needed pulled so he went here, they did an exam and x-rays and told him he also needed 2 additional teeth pulled. They did up a treatment plan, including a partial since he would be missing 3 teeth in a row, totaling over $4K. He ended up rescheduling the next appointment to pull the other 2 teeth so when he went back in it was a different dentist...who looked at the teeth, then pulled the x-rays confused, and said those teeth were strong and did not have to be filled...there were just a couple of cavities. These con artists were going to rip out 2 teeth and force him to need a partial, or expensive implants. That is absolutely disgusting business practice, not to mention the moral and professional issues here. When he said something to one of the other people in the office they were just like, oh well, that's why we get 2nd opinions! No, he was not there for a 2nd opinion...you did not schedule him for a 2nd opinion...you did a whole plan and scheduled him to just have them pulled. They have pictures saying free screening and charge more than $200, even if you have insurance. I scheduled an appt. specifically to get my wisdom tooth pulled, and after I get my x-rays done (which aren't free) they inform me that there is no surgeon coming in. He only comes once a month.. So there really was no point for me to have even been seen in the first place.. complete waste of time and money. read more

Called 2x to confirm appoint. Put on hold without explanation by staff each time. Appt Day afternoon received a live phone confirmation 3 hours prior to appointment. Walked in 1 hour prior to appointment to do paperwork and make business phone calls prior to cleaning. I sat down and the rude child behind the counter veckoned me to let me know this cleaning will be $245. I Said I am not paying this amount for a dental cleaning that takes 20 min. They were upset. I asked why so much and they said they added a bunch of extras. Flouride. Xrays. Consultation. Saying were all mandatory. Been there 4 times and never had them try to pad bill before. I then asked, what is your price to clean my teeth? The office mgr. said $99. I said I will pay this. I then said I would like the additional 25% that is being advertised on the internet. She said, ok. She then said the new total is $89. I said no. $99 minus 25% equals $75 not $89. The manager visibly upset by being caught twice in deception accepted this and stated that I would pay the $75 price. I sat down to make my business phone calls when their office staff called me once again to the front desk only to reprimanded me for showing up 45 minutes prior to my appointment. I thought to myself that I do not support businesses that are berrating, deceptive, unethical or immoral. I went back to the desk and said this appointment is over and I will not be coming back. On the way out I asked that the Doctor call me to work this out. He did not. Sadly this is the Aspen way. I absolutely love Dr. Deepa, and all the staff including Beth-anna. I've been coming here for the last two years. Nothing but total greatness has been the outcome. They comfort me, charged me extremely less then any other dentist and was completely free. It's a blessing a woman is a dentist especially Dr Deepa, she is outstanding and works very hard at her job. I walked in with a bill from my old dentist which was private and independently own, whom screwed up everything and charged outrageous prices. Aspen dental only charged me 1/4 of the total price for all my work total and I had a mouth full of cavities. For instance. The privately owned dentistry tried charging me over $500 for ONE tooth. Aspen dental charged me $300 for FOUR TEETH Including that one same tooth!! I love aspen. They have done a fabulous job on all my teeth and let me leave the office pain free. Unlike other dentist offices that traumatized me in so many ways with all the pain and talk. I now have a beautiful smile from aspen dental and even paid for the zoom whitening I absolutely loved as well. My hygienist at the time who did my cleaning and whitening name was Christina. I also have 4 teeth left to fix out 16+ that needed work I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this dentist. They have helped me out with the comfort and convinced me not all dentist will scam you, or hurt you. To also mention my old dentist. Left me with cavities after working on the tooth. Why wouldn't they just fix the whole tooth instead of doing one part? They said it was for insurance reasons only. Please don't go to this place. For some reason they have been saying I have a deductible which I don't. Every time I go for a cleaning they ask me for money. Last time I went for a cleaning they charged me $50 then a month and a half later I was called by a collections company saying that I owed $40 to them. My cleaning was Feb I received the debt collectors call on March 20th. Apparently they have never updated my address though I fill out paperwork everytime so they sent my bill to the incorrect address. They ruined my 800 credit because of $40 that was a month and a half old. When I called them the lady on the phone was rude to me. I simply asked why didn't you guys charge me the correct amount when I was there or just call me and tell me I owe $40 more before you took my bill to collections after a month? She was rude. I wanted to give them a 0 star if I could. The doctors or the hygienists are not that bad but the receptionists and the management is pathetic. They just want to make more money and there is no point of taking an appointment because they generally make you wait at least 30-45 minutes. They give preference to patients who are getting more stuff done and giving them more business. If you are going there for a routine cleaning, be prepared to get treated like shit. Although, they would try to trick you to get more stuff done when you visit them for regular visits and try to scare you with a lot of unreasonable diagnosis. And if you are running even 5 minutes late, they won't accommodate you. I called in advance that I am running 5-10 minutes late and the receptionist told me that they won't be able to accommodate me and I will have to cancel. So I reached on time and still I had to wait 30 minutes before I was seen. Moved to the area and needed a new dentist. Have been going to a dentist since I was 6 years old and they took about 20 x-rays for the "examination". I haven't had 20 x-rays done in the last 10 years. They wouldn't do a cleaning at the same time so had to set up an appointment for the following week while there for the exam. When I showed up the following week for the appointment I was told I didn't have one. When I showed them the appointment card and said, "well, then, whose handwriting is this?", I got a smart response - "I don't analyze handwriting."
