No one there knows what's going on with appointment times or insurance. Even if you uploaded everything to their portal, process it quickly, but their staff doesn't even check it or understand their own portal to make everything more difficult, not worth going here when there are other dentist that would care about their patient and services! read more

Came in for what I assumed was a simple procedure while my normal dentist was closed for the holiday. I had a small chip on my front tooth. They dragged me through all of the paperwork like I was a new client and forced me to take full X-rays and high def images of my mouth. I was reassured that my insurance would cover all of this. After about an hour the actual dentist came in to take a look and told me he had two options. Fill it in with the expectation of it coming out or doing two full crowns on my front teeth to ensure they would be the same color. The final bill for all the work was in the ballpark of $10,000! I laughed and told him that wouldn't be necessary and that I just wanted it filled. Naturally he didn't have the time to do so same day so an appointment was set up in a couple of days and they charged me the $36 for fill in the chip. I left. I got sick and canceled my appointment for the fill in but didn't request a refund at that time. I already had a bad feeling about this branch and the way Aspen was ran. I never called to rescheduled. Several days later I got a bill in the mail for those xray and high def images of my teeth that I did not request or need! I'm currently fighting with aspens billing department and my insurance to not have to pay for this as it was not requested and forced upon me during my visit. I also stated that they already charged me the $36 for work that was never completed and that I did not want completed. Still no answer on that refund. This place is a total scam and they simply want to drain your insurance and make you pay out of pocket. I think I'll keep my family dentistry and the excellent care I receive there. Would give lemons rather than stars if possible. My mother had two teeth removed, it was horrible. She was crying and yelling in pain! The sinus cavity was exposed and stitches placed. She came home with bloody gauze stuffed in her mouth and intense pain. Was only given Tylenol for pain despite my having contacted the office requesting stronger pain medication. Mom has been in continuous pain since this trauma on June 27, 2023. Due to continued pain, Mom returned to Aspen Dental today. When she complained about how horrific the procedure had been, was told by office manager that she had been completely "out" (sedated) the entire time (despite his having informed me on day of procedure, "the entire office could hear her yelling"). Having been an operating room nurse for 15 years, I am well aware of the difference between sedation and local only. I was in the room with my mother throughout the entire procedure which was performed under local only. I held her hand as she screamed and cried while the dentist took forceps, pulling and twisting the tooth in an attempt to dislodge. This went on for a prolonged amount of time. I regret not stopping her. And this was only the start. Family contacted the office and spoke to oral surgeon who claimed Mom had "mental problems". Stated he had performed the procedure and our mother had been sedated the entire time. Again, I was in the room holding her hand throughout this nightmare, I can attest the oral surgeon did not perform the procedure; it was the dentist under local only. We have requested the record. It will be interesting to see if it has been falsified to reflect the oral surgeon's false claims. Aspen Dental Novi MI then proceeded to take $1665.60, the full payment for work that was never performed. Fraud investigation is underway. To sum it up: horrific pain/trauma, lies, and fraud. Nothing short of malpractice and elder abuse. And my mother continues to suffer pain along with recurrent nightmares and severe emotional distress. As do I, having witnessed the abuse first hand and doing nothing to stop the assault. read more

This place wanted to charge me $23,000 in work when my orthodontist had already sent over a cover sheet of what needed to be done before putting my wires back on (I HAVE TWO INSURANCES) the dentist then says I have several cavities and needed root canals when I've had multiple scans done of my teeth that only show FOUR. Not to mention my appointment time was at 11:30AM I didn't get seen until 1PM and left at 2:15PM, This place has to be the absolute worst, and I don't understand how they are even still in business. Don't go here. The staff on the phone are very friendly and helpful. However the office experience for my husband was horrible. He arrived on time and was told they were running a little late. He sat there at 85 years old for one and half hours. Finally he just got up and left. I only wish I had read the review before I made him an appointment. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I went in after having a baby to get a check up. They told me I had 5 cavities that needed to be filled. I have a primary and secondary insurance they told me that my secondary plan was worthless and that only one of my plans could be used so I would have to pay out of pocket. I decided I wanted to try another dentist that wasn't as expensive so I could avoid out of pocket fees. My new dentist redid some of my X-rays and come to find out I have ZERO cavities in my mouth. She searched forever trying to see what they could have possibly thought to be a cavity and found nothing! Aspen was willing to drill into my teeth for no reason other than profit! They care more about money than the wellbeing of their patients! read more

This Aspen Dental office in Novi is awful. I scheduled a 8:00 appointment and by 8:50 I was still not seen by a dentist. I questioned the office manager John, why were clients being seen before me and I was still waiting. He stated, "That I was a new patient and he had to process my insurance information." Twenty minutes later of him trying to complete this process with no success, I told him that I would just leave. He became so upset saying to me, "What's the problem, geez, nervously responding with a major attitude. I am shocked that he is actually the store manager. However, his behavior definitely reflects the atmosphere at his office. So, I decided to wait again. Finally, after several people asked him did he need assistance, I was finally called to the back. Once, I was in the back the dental hygienist wanted to take a full ex-ray and I explained to her that I had a tooth extracted last Saturday and wanted a second opinion for the work he performed. John then informed her to do a limited ex-ray on me. When the dental hygienist was in process of walking back towards me she was stopped by Dr. Pankuri Goel. Dr. Goel started whispering to her asking to inquire why didn't I go back to my previous dentist. So immature and middle school like behavior. She could have asked me directly. I then became concerned about her performance as a dentist. Currently, having a child in medical school I know the importance of patient care and respect is number one. Once, I finished my ex-rays I was placed in a room. Once again looking into the hallway patients are coming and going. I had been waiting for another twenty minutes. Whispering was totally unacceptable. and unprofessional. I had enough of this horrible experience and decided to leave. I prefer to receive service where I know my business is welcomed. read more
