Aspen Dental is VERY predatory. I went there to fix a small chip in my front tooth... and it took 10 months and over $8,000 to get it fixed. I was first told I needed a cleaning, then a gingivitis protocol (3 appointments) - though an outside dentist confirmed I never had gingivitis. Then I was told they couldn't use composite, so I'd need a crown. Then I was told before I could get crowns, I needed to straighten a SINGLE UNRELATED bottom tooth with motto liners - another $3,000. Then I was told I should whiten my teeth before crowns - another $500. THEN I was told I should get two crowns instead of one so my front teeth match - another $4,500. I was very explicit about wanting crowns 1 mm longer than my original front teeth (time had eroded their height significantly). My dentist told me to 'be picky' with the crowns. When they showed me my crowns, they were even smaller than my original teeth. I again asked for them to be made slightly longer, but my dentist declined/said he couldn't do that. AFTER placing the crowns, I was informed that I should not bite crunchy things (apples, carrots) with my front teeth - ever. I wish I would've known that before I got them. So, after a year and over $8,000, I have crowned front teeth that look smaller and much worse than the teeth I originally wanted fixed. read more

This place is predatory. I went there for a genuine emergency and they used very high-pressure sales tactics to try to sell me overpriced and unnecessary cleanings. When I made it clear I was not interested in any cleanings they pushed me out the door and used evasive tactics until I finally decided to go elsewhere. read more

Horrifying. I went for an exam because I was experiencing extreme pain, but couldn't get the same day. Yet, while waiting for my scheduled exam, a guy comes in with theatrics of severe pain, and they scheduled him. Once seen by a dentist, they confirmed it was a root canal but couldn't treat it. To make it worse, Aspen's entire system crashed, and I couldn't access any records or other information, nor could they schedule me for a follow-up. I paid $300 for a special image to take to the treating oral surgeon opened the image, it was blank. The oral surgeon had to 'wing it.' It was the worst health care experience of my life. If you want your time wasted, this is the place to go. I recently had a filing come out and had been experiencing some pain and sensitivity. Could not get into my regular dentist as I travel for work and am only here temporarily. Booked an appointment only to show up and them want to do all this extra BS that was not needed. The dentist came in for maybe 2 mins, showed me my XR and told me I needed a root canal if I was experiencing the sensitivity. Well duh, my filing came out, of course it is sensitive. At the end of the 2 mins they didn't even ask me to book an appointment to come back to do the so called root canal I needed ??? the dentist was very dismissive and made me feel like my time was not valuable. Her advice to me was to take some tylenol and ibuprofen for the pain and to follow up with my dentist back home. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. read more

We went to my favorite dentist office for my daughters 6 month cleaning and we had Gina Wallace, RDH as our Hygienist and she is absolutely amazing and so much fun and easy going!!! She makes my 6 year old daughter feel at ease and isn't stressed about being there and she even said she loved coming here. I love coming to this Aspen Dental! They're amazing with me as an adult and I never have to worry about my daughter being afraid of the dentist either. Thank you so much for all that you folks do!! I have been completely dissatisfied with Aspen Dental West St Paul. The owner, Hassan Ishmael, is rude, disrespectful, abrupt, and arrogant. The advice he gave me was incorrect as I sought a second opinion from a far more reputable dentist. I was told one thing by one dentist regarding a partial following a tooth extraction and then told by another that all of the teeth on the upper jaw needed to be pulled to be replaced by dentures. No other dentist has ever told me that so, again, I sought a second opinion who completely disagreed with this diagnosis. I suspect that these dentists are working on a commission incentivizing to perform unnecessary and costly procedures to line the coffers of Ismael. I will never, ever return to this clinic and advise any future or current patients to do the same. A rating of one star is far to high, in my opinion. My rating would be a negative 12 on a scale of 1-10. Warning to all. Do not patronize this clinic under any circumstances; they will rip you off royally. read more

Tiffany LaChapelle is a great hygienist! I was nervous getting my teeth cleaned this morning due to how sensitive my teeth and gums are. Tiffany was very careful and gentle while cleaning my teeth, and took her time while doing it too. I didn't feel rushed. She's awesome. She also gave me some great tips on how to keep clean teeth and prevent them from getting even more sensitive. I highly recommend seeing her! :) read more

They knowingly deceived me when I scheduled an appt to get a tooth extracted by the oral surgeon who works out of this office. They didn't tell me until I arrived that I must first see their dentist and their hygienist. I reminded them as I did when I set the appointment that I had a dentist already and that I was referred here for extraction only. I had just had a cleaning and exam 2 months ago. Insurance wouldn't pay for that and neither would I. So the two weeks spent waiting for this appointment while my tooth continues to ache was wasted time and I still need to find and schedule with another, and hopefully more ethical, oral surgeon read more

They are definitely out to SCAM you, I called their 800 number, I talked to a call center rep, she took all of the information, scheduled a consultation, I gave her my dentists referral and said my dentist would send my x-ray to them. I went to my appointment, they said that they wanted to do an x-ray and also this special 360 degree x-ray, and it would cost me $ 295.00, they need to collect that today, I said no thanks, then she said that they didn't get any x-rays from my dentist, I went and sat down in the chair and they put a screen in front of me, they had my x-ray, then the specialist, Dr. V tried to push me to do the 360 x-ray, he went through with the consultation, after I got done telling him that I didn't want to do the 360 degree x-ray, he told me that I need a root canal procedure done, then we were done, the assistant took me to the front and she told me that I owe $ 252.00 for the 15 minute consultation. This is the worst company and the worst customer service I have experienced, especially at a professional service like this. If you trust this company, you are a stupid fool. Highly recommended! I was a little nervous finding a new dentist after we moved. My husband had a check up there, and came back with rave reviews. Me, as a bit of a researcher and dentist snob, did some digging online and found that yelp didn't have the best reviews about them. However, after experiencing aspen dental firsthand, I couldn't be more happy that I went. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hygienist and dentist were very knowledgeable, personable and trustworthy. The dentist office itself was very clean and had great technology. I was a new patient and they got me in within 5 days. On top of that, the staff was extremely helpful and greeted me with a smile. I had a chipped front tooth and I was worried about the cost to fix it. Alisha, the finance coordinator, completely understood my situation and she made everything affordable. When I went to get my tooth fixed, Dr. Kreager was the one to fix it. Not only was he professional in his approach, but he is a master at his craft! The color match was perfect and the tooth looks 100% real! He only fixed the bottom and you would never tell it was a composite! Seriously, go to these people for everything! First visit took forever (2+ hours) and I had to meet with 4 different people. I assumed this was just because of x-rays and paperwork but my second appointment was my last. They schedule a cleaning to take an hour because they put you in a room and have you watch TV for 30 minutes while they talk to new patients. Idea: Focus on keeping the clients you have instead of getting new ones or schedule a 30 minute cleaning and give the new clients a 30 minute appointment. No one wants to hang out at the dentist if they don't have to. read more

The office manager who is in charge of finances is the friendliest most helpful women I have ever met. She will do everything she can to get you help, even if it's not with them. Do not Use this place. My first appointment was fine. My second appointment i was left waiting an hour and the staff was rude to me. They were short handed but acted like it was my fault. I was told i could make payments and after my insurance was billed nearly $6,000. And i paid almost $2,000. they made an appointment for me. This was my first visit there and I must say I would never go back. Mind you I have not been to the dentist in little bit due to issues with insurance but I always remembered if you scheduled a check-up that included a cleaning. Not so here. I just got x-rays done and they checked my gums. This whole process took over a hour. Not only was the dental assistant not friendly. There were other people coming in and out of the room constantly and also I could hear them talk about other patients and floor orders while I sat and waited for them to see him.
