Told them I had the money to pay for just the test they said they wouldn't charge me but I don't believe they did the test just that they would do it. So I'm still scared out of my wits about the problem I'm having. This company is dishonest. They offer a "free exam with cleaning and x-rays" to new customers but, to get the free cleaning, you have to first have periodontal treatment for which they charge $2000! They offered a holiday special of 20% off all dental work but refused to honor it after my wife got two crowns and said that they would request the "parent company" to issue a refund. After many phone calls and visits, the parent company DID finally issue me a refund. But, when my wife came in to get her crowns put on, the office manager said that I still owed them 20% and would send my case to arbitration. But, because they are such a nice company, they'd be willing to split the difference with me. Can you believe it?! Of course, I refused and have not heard back from them. read more

One star is too much for Aspen. Run away from this place. The staff is incompetent, unprepared, and inexperienced, and the secretary was racist, treating me rudely and sometimes ignoring me and leaving me waiting. I finally complained about how different her treatment was from how I saw her treating others. More than a year ago, I needed a root canal. When I called this place, they assured me they could do it, but I needed a consultation first. The doctor told me I needed an extraction. Since the tooth was part of a bridge, there would be a very large gap after the extraction. I asked them for an estimate for a partial denture, since my insurance covered it. The estimate was huge, but most of it was paid for by the insurance. When I went to the next appointment, supposedly to have the mold for the partial denture, they made a mold of my upper and lower teeth, then a very young doctor approached me and told me she had been called in to do two fillings on two molars that had crowns. I told her I didn't know anything about it, but I agreed in the end. The work she did was amateurish; she drilled a lot and then left me waiting for about an hour to put on the temporary crown. She gave me so much anesthetic that it felt like half my face was numb. After a few hours, when I got home, the pain was unbearable. I called for a new appointment, and they told me I probably needed a root canal and that I should go to a specialist. I told them that I'd been told Aspen had a specialist, and they said the specialist was in another city and that they would schedule an appointment for me. On top of that, I had to go back to Aspen three times because the temporary crown kept falling off. And on one of those visits, the dentist who did the damage reattached the crown without any anesthetic, and the contact of the cold glue with the nerve caused me so much pain that I screamed and cried right there in the office. The way I was treated showed a complete lack of consideration for my humanity; I felt like an animal in a slaughterhouse. They scheduled me for a root canal with a specialist a month in advance. The address was a 1.40 hour drive and a 4-hour bus ride away, and I don't have a car. They lied when I initially called about a root canal for the extracted tooth; there was no specialist there. I couldn't wait; the pain was intense, and I begged UM to see me. UM did the root canal for the tooth that was hurting, but I had to return to Aspen for the permanent crowns on both teeth. I went for the first one. Days later, the other tooth started hurting, and I had to go to Aspen for the second permanent crown. This time, the owner saw me, and I explained everything that had happened. She told me she wasn't bonding the crown permanently so that it wouldn't be so difficult to remove it for the root canal. UM performed the second root canal and sent a note with x-rays to Aspen stating that the tooth was too small and required special work for the crown or it would fall out again. I made another appointment with Aspen, and the owner told me they hadn't received UM's recommendations, that insurance didn't cover special work, and that they couldn't do a new crown, but that I should bring UM's recommendations to a new appointment. There was never a new appointment; they always said they hadn't received the recommendations, even though UM sent them several times. read more

By far the worst dental clinic, I've ever been to. I have a case of extreme bruxism. I went in for a dental emergency. When the dentist told me to open my mouth, she gasped and held her hand over her own mouth. Then she said "Oh my God, I have never seen an adult with such tiny teeth! I had to get upper dentures I went on CareCredit to pay for it I had to go three times and get adjustments because it was so painful and then lo and behold 6 months later I get a bill for $298. I'm working with my Medicare advantage person with about this but I'm also making monthly payments so that I can actually get my real dentures not just keep my temporaries however Aspen dental doesn't allow that even though I am making a monthly payment on something that I don't think that I owe and now I have to stay with temporary dentures for at least the next year until I personally pay the $298 just in case my Blue Care Network doesn't cover it. If this is what Aspen dental thinks is doing everything they can to help I really don't know what to say. I have no problem with the office staff they have been very nice to me. Except for one when I said so you're telling me I'm screwed until I get this resolved and he said yes you are and let's remember that all phone conversations I recorded. read more

This establishment genuinely could not be worse. Staff actively berates patients. There is no patient focused care whatsoever. Staff whom you have not met will walk in the room and start doing things without even talking, such as ripping out temporary crowns, starting to drill in your mouth, as well as anything to do with your care. The man working the front desk will talk to you as if you are the dumbest person he has ever met just because you "showed up early" to an appointment that they scheduled for 8 am when "appointments don't even start until 9 am so you should just leave and come back in an hour". They will reschedule your appointments and not call until the day of, so when you schedule your entire day around the appointment, the entire day gets ruined. Overall this place is horrible and I would suggest to go literally anywhere else as they are the most incompetent establishment I have ever been in. read more

Aspen Dental was close to home and on my new insurance provider list. My wife and I went in for an exam. i went later and sat with the associate who handles their financial plans. He reviewed everything the dentist wrote in the treatment plan and gave me a price. I have never paid for dental work up front before. The bill was outrageous. I should have left then, but I paid it. Once we started making appointments, everything changed. I had less, she had more. The money didn't change. I had two crowns, not three. No cavities filled, not two. Absolute hell hole. I went in for the first time today expecting to get my teeth cleaned. Instead I spent 2 hours having my teeth xrayed and photographed while literally everyone working here was harassing me to spend $3000 on invisaline liners and an electric toothbrush that I already own. I was able to talk them out of everything but a filling which I had to reschedule for another day. They wasted my entire day and I never even got my teeth cleaned. My front crown broke, so I found this place online and made an appointment for a FREE consultation. I got lost a bit and the receptionist gave me awesome directions. Here the awesomeness ended. Upon arrival paperwork had to be filled out and they wanted my insurance card in case I decided to go ahead with the procedure. They saw me fast enough, and wow they had some state of the art machines to get my xrays. While the nurse kept emphasizing all this was FREE. Finally a young Indian lady shows up and introduces herself as the doctor. Another lady shows up who I gather was the assistant, from Ghana. She proceded to poke my gums with a sharp object while calling out numbers. And it hurt. After that was all done, the Indian doctor tells me, all my teeth were gone, full of cavities, so she will be pulling all my teeth and a wisdom tooth that was errupted and doing nothing, and give me dentures. She didn't believe in implants. I was told to wait in the waiting room for the final procedure price, when I can decide if I want to go ahead. I waited there with 2 other ladies who were also there for the 1st time. After a while, this guy comes in and takes me to the office where he tells me, I have gum disease, and they have to correct that first, before they pull all my teeth to fit me for dentures, and the total cost would be $12,000. I thanked him and left... Went home to research my new doctor. She graduated from a school in Ohio with a DMD certificate in 2018, this was her 1st job. Yikes. 2 weeks later I get a bill from Aspen Dental for $81 out of pocket. They had charged my insurance. Whatever happened to FREE???!? I had a filling break and needed to get my tooth fixed before work so I called this Aspen Dental and they were able to get me in. They took x-rays of the wrong side of my mouth but didn't realize it until they were already in my mouth and then tried to force me to get 6 other fillings even after telling them I was there strictly for the one that broke. I was there for 2 hours and late for work, just for a cavity that needed a little extra filling. My spouse also went recently to get a few cavities filled and he was there for 3 hours and 10 minutes. They come and go in and out of your room, so that only makes me think they are going to other patients in between which is very unsanitary. They also kept harassing him to spend $3000 on Invisalign, saying all of his teeth were getting crushed and that he needed it. So twice now, we have both said no to things they wanted to do and they continued to push it. Just save your time and stress and go to a different one! read more

I broke a tooth and needed it fixed. After. 3+ hour appointment they told me it was going to be $6k but I could sign up for their credit program (loan) for $2k to help. Well I got the work done cheaper elsewhere and cancelled my appointment and my loan to find out they had already charged the surgery that i didn't have, to my loan. I called to get the charges reversed and they tried to charge me $400 for a stint that they never told me about and never put in and said that it was made especially for me so it couldn't be returned or used elsewhere. After going around and around with his San their finance guy who was less than helpful. I called back and magically they waved the stunt and I didn't have to pay. Fast forward two weeks and the loan company is calling me saying I missed my first payment....for the charges that were supposed to be reversed. So now I get to go around with them again. T I was just looking to get my tooth fixed and now I have to deal with a financial nightmare for something I didn't get because the finance guy refuses to do his job. I went in for a severe toothache and nothing more. They advertise a free first exam. Upon arriving they said I would be getting my whole mouth exam free. i said I didn't need the whole process and just the one tooth was told I would have to pay MORE for declining all the services. If I chose to just have one tooth examined I wouldn't get the advertised free first exam. I was informed it would take around 45 minutes and ended up taking nearly two hours. During this time, I was solicited to purchase a very expensive toothbrush they offered in clinic at least 3 times and a cancer screening service I declined multiple times as well. When I clarified I just was there for one tooth to be examined, I was assured they were "almost done". After finally being seen by a dentist for, at most, 5 minutes, I was instructed to sit in the waiting room for a consultant who would inform me of pricing and schedule my treatment. The plan the consultant made for me had 15 additional services unrelated to the infected tooth. The next appt for root canal was a month away so I asked for any options to address my pain level. They sent a prescription for antibiotics to my pharmacy and I was told, "unfortunately, this is all we can do." I went through unnecessary x rays that were extremely painful as well as 3D imagining (tried to decline both). I left in even more pain than when I arrived. They wrote a prescription for antibiotics for the infection and said that I would feel relief hopefully within 4 days. I asked what other options there were to relieve any of the constant pain and was told unfortunately that was all they could do. The initial person doing the exam was nice, but definitely had a script they had to follow (apologized for it even). The way aspen dental conducts business as a company is appalling. Oversold basic services while making staff "sell" products and additional procedures made me feel like I was at a bad mechanic or car lot. I felt uncomfortable and unheard. The lack of compassion from a company/business that is in the industry of caring for people and their health is extremely disturbing. The unnecessary x rays and imaging done CAUSED me -the patient- MORE pain. Why would Aspen dental purposely cause their patient MORE pain by conducting unnecessary and unsolicited procedures? I will be waiting for a response from Aspen Dental about this extremely serious and unacceptable experience provided. As a provider of human health services, I expect such a serious lack of care for patients to be addressed swiftly. It is necessary I be contacted by the appropriate party of Aspen Dental to discuss these critical concerns. read more

This place is a hustle. They are primarily interested in billing you for as many procedures as they can get away with. I contacted them to have a veneer glued back on. I was told that I should also have my teeth cleaned. Upon arrival I repeatedly asked to postpone the cleaning until January so that my insurance would cover part of the cost. After my third request, the receptionist told me that my insurance would pay for it in December due to creative billing on their part. I was told that I only owed $6.10. I agreed to the procedure and paid the $6.10. In January I received a bill for 325.00 for the teeth cleaning that I was told would cost 6.00. I am hesitant to not pay the bill as it would reflect poorly on my credit score. The veneer that they glued on came off a week later. I called to have it glued back on a second time. The man who oversees the charges and is not a dentist told me that I probably needed additional work done. I told him that I only needed the veneer glued on. He said that they had to rule out other issues. I disagreed again and was ignored. They scheduled me for additional services. All this place cares about is getting as much money as they can from their patients. In addition their dental work is shoddy at best. I will never go back to Aspen Dental. read more

My dad (75 years old) made an appointment here to get a teeth cleaning, after an hour and a half I picked him up from his appointment only to find out they didn't even do the cleaning he was supposed to have, and instead spent that entire time trying to talk him into $15,000 worth of dental work that he absolutely couldn't afford saying there was no way to salvage his teeth and trying to refer him to all kinds of specialists. He left very stressed, confused, and frustrated trying to figure out how to afford such extensive work he had t expected to need. He made an appointment at another dentists office for a cleaning and they had no problem taking care of it and said his teeth were totally fine and manageable and any of that work would be completely unnecessary especially at his age for the cost. I have been here twice and they run WAY behind schedule. I waited over an hour to be called back for my first appointment after which they made me stay to talk to an office manager about my insurance coverage which would have been fine but I had to wait another 15 minutes before he was available. I am currently waiting to be called back for my second appointment and at this point they are 30 minutes behind schedule. I chose Aspen Dental for convenience of location and it was (supposedly) covered by my new dental insurance. When I showed up for my first cleaning I was escorted into their imaging room where I spent the next hour getting INNUMERABLE X-rays and scans (they were determined to get what they could from that insurance policy) followed by an exam at which point I was invited to leave. What about the cleaning? Apparently, NO ONE had thought to mention that they didn't have time to do a cleaning that day. Scheduled a cleaning in December to try to get SOMETHING out of my insurance expenses before the end of the year and was not told until I was there, missing work and wasting another afternoon, that the insurance would not cover the cost of cleaning. This place was a NIGHTMARE! I was in severe pain when I went and they put me with one girl training another- so they had discussions about what they liked and didn't like to use for x-rays while I sat in pain. They only want to sell dentures, no oral surgeon works there. Then I was told how " ugly it would be for a pretty girl like me to have my face caved in and all the wrinkles " if I didn't buy their dentures. Totally unprofessional! I understand if I have problems but scare tactics are ridiculous. Then there's the videos they want you to watch-scary dental procedures. I said no. Then I was told I "wasn't interested in my own health " hey- that's your job lady! I don't need to see that. Then they would not prescribe me antibiotics to be picked up at Kroger. They called it "in house"antibiotics and I would pay them. The pics on their wall are fake-seen them at the real dentist that had treated those people!!! Total scam!! Single family working there! Thank God- went to another dentist who handled my issue professionally and I will have a tooth pulled next week. Do not go here. They prey on people with limited access to dental care with their marketing and initial "free" appointments. You do not get a standard cleaning at this appointment, only exam and X-rays. They are friendly enough, but will then use scare monger tactics to try to charge you far more than a standard, professional dentist office would for the same services. They will also try to get you to establish financing with a third party on the spot for work they haven't even done yet but promise to do in the future. It operates more like a sleazy car dealership than a typical dentist office. Do yourself a favor and find someone local and reputable. This was by far the worst office I have ever been to. It took 2 hours and I never even got my teeth cleaned. It took 1 hour for xrays to be done and it was extremely uncomfortable. The assistant had no idea what they were doing. I was then sat into a dental chair and waited 30 minutes for a doc. Some would have thought maybe we could clean his teeth during the wait but no that is just common sense. Then 1 1/2 hours in I saw a doc and then 1 3/4 hours in they asked if I would like to wait to get my teeth cleaned. Transferred my entire family to their office and I am not pleased with the way they do business. It's all about money! I have dental insurance that covers everything but they still insisted on charging me and then I had to wait months to call and get a refund from them after my insurance pays. They charge $50 for fluoride treatment that I didn't want and $50 cancer screening that is not needed. They charged my daughter $200 before she was even seen then said she didn't need the treatment after all and that her money would be refunded in 2 weeks to her card. She is college student and they take advantage of people who are unaware of how these things work. They also do 20 plus x-rays every year on everyone that is not needed so they can bill for that. They won't send a bill. They won't let you know if you have money refunded on your account. They just leave it on your account for next time you go there. The staff are competent but it takes a long time for anything. A cleaning takes 90 minutes from the time you enter until you leave. I understand that companies need to charge upfront for services if someone doesn't have insurance but we do and this is totally unnecessary. read more
