They always made me feel better about the care I was giving and were so sweet in the way they cared for my husband. Whitney was my rock and I feel like she has become a beloved member of our family. I was so relieved when she arrived the day my husband passed. She took all of the stress of the situation onto her shoulders and handled it with the love and attention we needed. I would recommend the care team at Suncrest to anyone needing hospice services. The only issue we had was with the supply person, Melissa. For whatever reason she took a dislike to us and refused to supply food for my husband who was on a feeding tube and had to have special supplements. On several occasions he would have had to go with out food for 2 or 3 days if I had not ordered and purchased food myself. At one point, the food she did send us was clotted and no good. When I reported it and asked that more food be sent, she accused me of leaving the food outside in the heat and again procrastinated on sending the replacement. My husband's care team stepped in and stood up for my husband's needs against this obstacle. I can't say how much I appreciate how Whitney, Felicia, and Siera stood behind my husband and I in this difficult time. They really saved the 5 star review in spite of Melissa's shortcomings.

Suncrest was highly recommended by the stroke rehabilitation hospital my mother was in after her stroke. I can't say enough positive things about Suncrest! Everyone I dealt with, from the registered nurses to the social worker to the chaplain was so kind, competent and professional. They assisted with all of the medical equipment my mother needed at her home, special food (she had a PEG feeding tube in her stomach), and were available 24/7 for any issues or questions. I recommend Suncrest Hospice highly to anyone needing hospice care for a loved one.

This place simply handles things differently: they take a gentle approach where educating friends and family of the passing is priority. I felt extraordinarily comfortable and safe/secure as I watched my friend pass as the nurses were more than well-equipped to do their job. Sean and his team helped us understand the dying process and what to expect so that we had more quality time with her. She was in terrible pain and his amazing nurses immediately went to work with the hospital staff to manage that so she could pass with dignity, peacefully, pain free. Mark the rep really helped us understand the hospice philosophy and made the admittion process smooth and comforting at a very stressful time when we all running on very little sleep. Our caregiver was not adequate, but I am willing to give the company (not person) another chance at a later time. My advice: 1. Interview the caregiver first prior to signing a contract. 2. Understand that person's location, miles they will drive and personal commitments they have. 3. Finalize your own assessment prior to agreeing to move forward, ask for a different option (resource wise) if you are concerned about the person you met with.

Cella Bella is by far the most wonderful home healthcare I've ever dealt with. I found them just by luck from a caregiver who was helping a neighbor. I didn't know what to ask for because I didn't know what was available ...I just knew we needed help. They listened to me, exhausted & crying, and then quickly got my mom into a medicare paid home health routine. Not once did I have to remind them to follow through on their promises. Calls are always answered and I truly don't know if they even have voicemail. They took our $0 budget and quickly turned it into a whole team of knowledgeable and compassionate caregivers. Cella Bella lifted a huge weight from my shoulders and mom is feeling much better too.

When the time comes to make a decision for support for a dying loved one, Hospice is the…read morecompassionate choice. At least, that's my opinion, after going through this process a few times over the years. That said, not all Hospice providers are equal, and some are more available or less supportive, depending on the facility and your unique situation. I had the support of Odyssey Hospice for a year and a half for a dying relative, which is probably longer than most people use Hospice for a particular instance. My relative was at his home, then at two different facilities during that time, and they weren't facilities where Odyssey normally visits. They were undaunted by this, and made weekly visits anyway. They were able to work with my relative's current doc, who happened to be a visiting geriatric physician and already had a relationship with Hospice in general. So we went ahead with them. The chaplain, Richard, was the bright spot of the entire experience and went above and beyond his role in providing support. I think I stayed with this Odyssey (aptly named) because of him. I'd give him 5 stars. Unfortunately, we were assigned a nurse that we didn't like and were stuck with for the entire time, and they are the one who directs care and support for the patient. She ended up putting a lot of their job on me, making me run around town picking up medical items and medications during my work day, calling me at incessantly at work, and laying on the guilt nice and thick. I dreaded the sound of her voice. I'd give her one star because you're not allowed to give zero. There was some turnover in the social worker department during that time, and while each MSW was decent, it was hard to start over. As far as I can tell, their job consisted of providing lists of facilities and services and listening to me rant while I became increasingly more frustrated. Unfortunately, I still had to do everything myself while I was trying to work and be a mom. Two stars. One thing I'd advise if you're in the situation to need Hospice support is to ask your doc or facility manager which one they'd recommend, and make sure they can support you in your particular situation. Another piece of advice: don't be afraid to switch to another Hospice provider when it turns out they can't. As I've found out later, it's a fairly simple process.
