For my daughter's 10th Birthday party I was trying to come up with something that would be fun and new for a birthday bash. After watching my daughter in awe over the limo that was driving by I thought that maybe I would rent a limo for her and some of her friends. I called around and Aspen Limo Tours was not only friendly but was willing to work with me on the route I wanted to take the girls on. I was extremely impressed with the actual driver, Bill calling to confirm my reservation the day before which put my mind at ease. Bill arrived a couple minutes early. The car was perfect (we rented the stretch excursion) the glass ware was clean, the water stocked, the seats and carpets exceeded my expectations, and the light and sound systems were wonderful. Bills driving was perfect, slow and steady. Our first stop was the ice cream parlor where I bought each of the girls a single scoop in a dish. Most of them finished before we returned to the limo but I wasn't really concerned since we had plenty of napkins and the ride had been so smooth so far. My daughter and her friends had a great time and even though I wasn't looking forward to being in a car with 8 girls for 2 hours the time went by fast and the girls were all very well entertained and volume was never an issue. Bill was extremely nice when the girls wanted to talk to him while he was driving and asking him question. The follow up with David, the owner was wonderful. We rented the limo from Aspen on August 12th 2016 for a 7 year olds birthday party, pizza and trip to a concert. Prior to leaving our home, Rosemary arrived early and was angry it took an extra 10 minutes to round up the kids. The part we didn't understand was that we had rented it for the night and when we actually departed had nothing to do with our event. When she started to honk in the driveway it angered us, but we weren't going to ruin a fun night... So when she started saying we were going to be charged double if we didn't leave in a few minutes it was really annoying. On the trip to the concert we were on the Tilikum Crossing Bridge (during rush hour) and the limo DIED out of the blue... MID BRIDGE. All of our kids were terrified. Cars, trucks and semi's were honking and yelling obscenities to us as they passed. After 30 minutes sitting at a dead stop, with no a/c we were all sweating and our kids were crying saying things like, "We are all going to die!" The adults all tried to stay calm, but were fearful for our children's lives. Rosemary told us to stay in the car and that she called for another limo and that it would be here soon, but gave us no timeframe when asked. She simply said, "It will be here soon." Finally, the state ODOT "Incident Response" showed up behind our car and talked over a load speaker and told us that they were going to push us into "SAFETY", just off the next exit. The Incident Response truck pushed us until we were off the exit and on the side of the road. Once we were out of the HOT car, we tried to calm our kids and grabbed the pizza out of the trunk and ate it on the side of the road. Ironically, Rosemary wanted a piece as well. There's nothing like a little humility to ground a person and make them hungry for some "humble pie." Lol! When we realized that we were late for or concert and again requested a time frame for the working limo, we were told it was on its way... So we called an UBER and they arrived just as the replacement limo, so in order to stay together, we thanked the UBER driver and all got into the replacement. We arrived to the concert with less then an hour left of it, after spending more than $600 on tickets... After the concert, we were picked up and dropped back off at home as expected. We thought that after our death defying experience and missing most of our concert, we would be offered a free trip and tipped Rosemary well as we normally would. Only to be charged FULL PRICE and we got a text message that we were being charged an additional $20 for a missing glass. Not only did we get no apology for the inconvenience, but we made multiple attempts to contact the owner, but could not reach him. We finally reached him after days and Bill of the owner company after seeing that we had been charged in full and he told us that we were "Those people" and "Want everything for free" he also informed us that "he will be voting Republican and doesn't like our TAKER type." Bill also called my friend "a disgusting person" and "pathetic". He also told my girlfriend to "Get off of the phone and go boss her husband around." His lack of business ethic was appalling. I hope no one else has this horrible experience. Our children were SO excited to go in a limo and now say that they "never want to go in a limo again, they are scary!" We were charged full price and after talking to multiple times with many insults, he "only charged half". I wouldn't step foot on another one of their death traps. Pick another company!!! read more

I am a frequent traveler for both work and pleasure and I have been using David with Aspen for over 6 years now. When I first started getting airport transportation David was my driver (with another company). When he left and started Aspen years ago, I followed! I fly a lot out of the country and for those of you who do also, that means you have few flights out of Portland to make an early SFO or SEA connection in order to make the trip so that means I have to leave my home at 4-4:30am. Aspen always shows up on time, and I even see them in my driveway about 5-10 minutes early. Aspen drivers are professional, always. On time, always. Dressed professional, always. I can't say more about this company. Now, for the fun part. I started using David as my preferred limo driver for Wine tours with my girlfriends. I have done three now and he has connections at some of the coolest wineries around Portland. I leave the schedule up to him now because over the years, he has gotten to know wineries in the Hood River area that I never knew existed and we had a blast at each one (think HUGE pours and many served us salmon and crackers with our wine, for free. He's flexible, easy going and accommodating which makes the wine tours so much fun for my friends and I. For airport travelers, a good transport is crucial, mostly so you can make your flight on time. I have had limo/transport companies forget to pick me up, show up 20 minutes late or have incredibly rude drivers which is why I am posting this review on Aspen. People, you can't go wrong. To my surprise, Portland really does not have many good and reputable transportation providers to the airport. Aspen, is great, I highly recommend them!! read more

Wow! We booked a wine tour in the Willamette valley for a surprise birthday/retirement celebration for my mom. We had a blast! Bill helped me book everything and made some excellent recommendations for what wineries we should go to, we really loved them all! He was friendly and was very prompt when emailing back and forth about questions I had. The limo bus/15 seater was beautiful, great sound system, and very clean! For a friend's birthday we rented a party bus. From the moment our driver, Kawica, stepped out lookin' slick we had a great feeling. Killer, professional appearance and a precisely on time arrival. He explained that his purpose for the rest of the evening was to make certain we had everything we need and that the birthday girl was enjoying herself. Best Limo Company in the City. When you are taking a limo ride you want to be treated like royalty right? Well you get that with Aspen Limos! I have used them a few times now. Always prompt and courteous. The first time was with 5 wine drinkers for the day. We chose a few places to go and our driver filled in the rest of our time with some amazing wineries we have never been to and a great place for a picnic brunch. I just had some family friends come into town. 8 retired adults that wanted to see Portland. I recommend the limo service and they were so happy to get the service at a great price. They liked the driver and had no idea where to go in Portland so the driver picked all of their spots and they had a fabulous time. They are the type of people who usually take tours... and this was perfect for them, someone to show them around worry free. One of my friends uses them to and from the airport and says great service as well. I plan on using them for my future limo services. You could pay less, but you DO get what you pay for. What a great experience!! I was looking to organize a wine tour through the Salem area for a girls weekend. David was such a great guy to work with and he helped me arrange a great experience within my price range. Steve was our driver for the day and he was great! He picked us up extra ice before we even hit the road (we brought our own mixings for morning mimosas), and was great about helping us out. He even fetched our snacks from the car when we were spending a little extra time enjoying the views at a winery too! He scheduled us tastings at 4 beautiful wineries which were all a hit with my party. Overall, the entire experience, from the very first call to David, to the second Steve dropped us back off was very pleasant. I am a wedding photographer and work with/see limo drivers every weekend, but have never had the pleasure of Aspen Limo, until yesterday. Kawika was our driver and he really was just exceptional!!! In my twenty years of customer service exchanges for either large or small ticket transactions, Aspen Limo Tours pre-service, service and post service customer experience was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE TO DATE. We had contracted with Aspen for a fun family night and concert limo ride to McMenamins Historic Edgefield Concert arena. Our group consisted of three couples and five children, ages ranging from eight to fifteen. Our scheduled pickup time was 6:30pm. Our driver Rosemary arrived early at 6:00. At 6:30, Rosemary informed us that if we didn't depart at 6:45 we would be charged an extra fee. In addition, she stated that no food was allowed in the car. This left little time for the kids to eat, so we asked if we could place our pizza in the trunk of the limo. In between 6:30 and 6:45 Rosemary informed us by CAR HORN that our group needed to leave by 6:45. Once we reached the middle of the Tilikum Crossing bridge, Rosemary conveyed that our stop in the middle of the bridge was not planned and that the car wouldn't start. After forty five minutes of obscenities from drivers behind us, diesels dangerously whizzing by, crying children concerned for the safety of parents who attempted to retrieve the pizza in the trunk, and one verbal exchange of a couple fighting over the last glass of champagne; the state roadside assistance vehicle pushed us to the side of the exit. Rosemary dispatched another vehicle to take to us to the concert, however, couldn't provide an estimated time that they would arrive. We contacted two Ubers. While waiting for Uber, or the replacement vehicle we ate the pizza from the trunk, and we offered the now crying Rosemary some pizza. I loudly informed Rosemary, "Hey you better not eat that pizza in the fucking car." With the Karma universe restored via Rosemary's request, and my champagne fueled retort, the replacement vehicle whisked us off to the last half of our concert. None of what I have described is a reason for a bad review, merely a series of bad luck events and a employee exhibiting poor customer service traits. After our discussion with the owner, I determined it was likely the result of the trickle down company culture established by an emotionally unintelligent owner. Any owner of a service business realizes that repeat business is much more inexpensive to secure than new business, so we were surprised that we didn't hear from Aspen to rectify this poor experience. We enjoyed the last half of the concert and thought we would hear from the limo service after the concert. The evening of the concert, we did indeed hear from Aspen. Rosemary, via text, informed us that if we didn't return a glass from the rescue vehicle, we would be charged an additional twenty dollars. On Sunday, we reached out directly to the owner, Bill, to see if we could come to an amiable resolution. Monday's call with Bill completely solidified why Rosemary exhibited the traits described. We merely reached out to Aspen out of principle, to see if they would at least offer an apology as a refund wasn't expected. I have selected several key phone exchanges we had with Bill; "People like you are takers." "I had to pay $1,200 to fix the bumper from the roadside assistance vehicle. That is your fault." "Your disgusting. Your pathetic." "I am a voting Republican that is why I hate your taker type." "Take this up with your husband." "You will be hearing from my attorneys." My favorite, which should be Aspen's new marketing slogan... "I hate this business." I only hope that my next experience with Aspen is a limo ride with my competitive eating team after a celebratory first place performance at the "2017 Portland Taste of India" and after an explosive bout with violent Giardia. Losing the the non-refundable deposit would be entirely worth it. read more

The drivers are always nice, friendly & well kept. This along with them knowing the area and being able to keep the guests in good company is for sure a must. Having used Aspen Limo tours numerous times and having always previously had positive experiences I hired them for my wedding day. The owner David and his staff had always been timely, professional, and very fun in the past and we have used this company many times. One would imagine repeat business might be appreciated..... The plan was for the driver to arrive at 4:50PM and for the limo to take myself and my bridesmaids to take pictures and then to drop us off at the wedding venue at 5:50PM for my 6:00PM wedding. The driver, Bill called and personally confirmed that he would be there at 4:50PM that afternoon. The driver was 25 minutes late!!!! Arriving at 5:15PM both he and the company owner David couldn't understand why myself and the three bridesmaids and photographer squished in the back of a Green Cab didn't just get out of the cab and hop in the limo at this point (keep in mind the cab was literally pulling away from the curb as the limo driver finally arrived). FYI -it takes time to get a lady in a wedding dress, three bridesmaids and a photographer squeezed into a Green Cab. At this point we simply didn't feel we had enough time to relocate into the limo before leaving the hotel. This was a VERY stressful and unfortunate way to start out my wedding! Having read the generally favorable reviews here on Yelp, I called Aspen a few moments ago to inquire about driving me to PDX airport. I was told that the fee is $90. When I asked why it was so high given that I live on Mill Plain Blvd right next to 205, only 7 miles of freeway driving from the airport, I was told, "You could get a stinky cab and it would cost less. In fact, you should go ahead and do that." Delightful chap...... I gather from his response that they are not really in the business of providing car service to the airport, even though Aspen comes up in searches including "airport" and "car service to PDX" and other similar searches on Yelp. This is for the information of other users new to the area needing transport to the airport. Update after further research: I gather the most cost-effective service in this part of the country is known as an "airport shuttle". I just contracted with one called Blue Star to transport me to the airport for $24, which covers round-trip or two one-way trips. (See separate Yelp listing for reviews.) The downside is that you have to leave 15 minutes earlier, which seems like a small price to pay. read more

My best friend from Portland had an anniversary. We decided to make her a surprise and to have a party in the restaurant. We agreed with her husband when she comes from work to turn on the light and sing a song. After this, take everyone on the limousine to the restaurant. I used Aspen limo a year ago and called them for another event this year. It turns out that the quote they gave me when I asked for a total was actually a quote "per hour" - and NOT the total. I work for a non-profit organization and when our bookkeeper saw the charge for the total trip was four times the total they gave me, she was not happy. When I called to ask for a reduction in our bill due to their poor communication (and the bill being nearly twice what we paid the previous year) the "owner" started to yell at me on the phone. If they want to stay in business, they need to give quotes in writing so there is no misunderstanding. And - they need to be polite to their customers - esp. when Aspen is the cause of poor communication. read more

Each of us commented that he was the best driver any of us had ever had, and that's coming from women who have traveled all over the world. Jameson was on time, professional and courteous. We used aspen limo tours for a group pickup and tour of downtown before a corporate event. We were all truly impressed with every aspect of the service. Our driver (Kawika) was as good as they get. He showed up 10 minutes early, looked and acted incredibly professional and was friendly as could be. He went the extra mile several times during our trip. For instance, he took pictures of the group, happily let my kids get in the limo to look around, and even directed traffic downtown so that we could stop the car for a restroom break, etc, etc. He even called me the day before the pickup to introduce himself, offer to pick up anything we might need, and verify the time and address were accurate. He truly made it a special experience for the whole group. On top of that, the limo was the nicest any of us had ever been in. There is nothing worse than feeling like you are in a limo that has had its day. This car was immaculate and up to date. The interior condition was that of a new car. The carpet was perfect and not even a smudge or stain could be found throughout the car. (I am kinda meticulous, so I look for these things). We plugged our Iphones in for music, although there were plenty of music options. The ice was ready and the crystal glassware was spotless. Even the leather looked conditioned. So if you are looking for a limo service that will be worth the money, this is a sure thing. All six people in our group felt that it was the best limo service they had ever experienced. Between the 6 of us, we figured that to be at least 30 different limo experiences. So this truly was fantastic! read more

Better late than never with this review - We couldn't have had a better ride, guide, or overall experience. We booked a 30-seat limo bus for my wife's birthday and Mother's Day wine tour through the Gorge and Hood River. David was incredibly helpful with designing the itinerary and other front-end logistics. Karvica absolutely hit it out of the park with his very professional yet laid back and positive style. Karvica somehow managed to tidy up during every stop, insure we kept on schedule, improvised a way to stop at a crazy-busy Multnomah Falls, and even dropped us a mint on our way back aboard following a stop! Love this guy! Anyone who can put up with that crew for 7 hours and still have a smile on his face deserves a medal! I think they customize your trip based on your desires (bachlorette party, wine critic, etc). We were a group of 6 adults and we wanted quiet tours with personalized attention. They picked GREAT wineries and we had a blast. Such a nice thing to have people who know the area and nice to not worry about driving. This is the way to do wine tours for sure. We recently hired Aspen for to deliver a bride and groom to their hotel less than 20 miles from the wedding reception. The driver (brand new to this gig) showed up early and start charging us wait time immediately. We never received a confirmation email with details or a contract, the cash we gathered was "miscounted" by the driver. When we called to complain about the additional fees, we were told we would get a refund but only if we wrote a glowing review. The words blackmail were used. The entire trip of less than 1 hour ended up costing us approximately $235 for a town car to drive the bride and groom less than 20 miles where they were delivered on the sidewalk with their luggage and had to walk down the block to the entrance of the hotel since the driver would not listen to them. The only benefit we did get out of this was the drive thru stop at a local fast food restaurant the driver went through at the request of the happy couple didn't cost us a "stop fee". We will never use this company for any needs, personal or professional. We feel we were lied to, stolen from, and taken advantage of. read more

I've been on at least a Dozen "party bus" limousine rides in my 15 years in the Portland area. Special events, wine tours, bachelor and bachelorette parties. And not until now have I had such a bad experience. This particular occasion was a coed bachelor/bachelorette night out. Aspen limousines sent there aspiring to be a used car salesman driver out to the house to pick everyone up. He must have had to pick up a new pair of Isotoners because he was close to An hour late. As soon as this guy strolls in he immediately tries to get us in the bus ASAP . Like We're late for something. So he hussles us on and heads for our first stop before we get a block down the road he stops and accuses someone of smoking cigarettes. Granted a few of us smoke but we did so before getting on the bus. So he warns is and we continue on our way. He must have wanted to break in his new gloves or maybe we were late for something we didn't know about. Anyway he drives quick fast And in a hurry throwing us around the back of the bus. I had to pick people up off the ground more than once. We arrive somewhat safely to our first destination. One of our party gets carsick and steps off the bus and pukes in the parking lot. We haven't even gotten into the party part of this bus yet. So the rest of the night continues on the same as it started from one place to the next.
