These BOOTS will break your ankle just PUTTING YOUT FOOT IN! Show up. Say I just need boots for skiing at Matt River Mountain. Looks like a guy 28 and above takes me over to size my foot. Largest foot is 27.5 cm right to the edge of my toe so they assume that type of boot is gonna fit me. The days of REAR ENTRY boots that are easy to pull it on in easy to get off. I've gone on the way to the dinosaur in these DIABLO RACING BOOTS, are quite impossible to get your foot in without breaking your ankle. Especially when they're two sizes too small and make your FEET go NUMB, and the blood freezes in your foot in the boot. I was lucky to get my feet out of the boot much less follow them over the next 10 minutes, even though I barely even clamped them down. Someone needs to teach these kids sizing over again and basically the problem is the boots are horrifically uncomfortable. Maybe they're pliable when they're in the 90° showroom where you sweat in your ski clothes and you should just show up in a T-shirt like the teenagers, but when you get them out of your car and drive all the way to the ski hill and it's freezing out there they don't flex as easily as they do in the showroom. I brought them back and told him of this horrific experience that almost broke both my ankles, they didn't give me a credit. They didn't do anything except for Marc me and tell me I was pretty much stupid for not pulling the tongue out harder and twisting it to the side, which they failed to show me upfront in the showroom how to do it. Not a good experience. Not impressed. Waiting for a phone call to get rid of this one star we'll see if they even addressed it. It looks like they haven't addressed any of the other ones to get them off of Yelp. If you don't want a broken ankle, I wouldn't let them rent you Diablo boots read more

As an expert skier, I expect my equipment to perform at its best every time. I was hesitant but I purchased the phantom treatment for 1 pair of skis. After the treatment, I took those skis to Snow Trails when they were making snow. This was a great test since Snowmaking produces a wet and sticky ride against the already fast snowpack. Not once did my skis stick or slow me down through the changes in snow conditions. With my powder skis treated, I took them west and rode fresh powder after a massive storm. I felt like my skis were freshly waxed on every "free refill". Since my first phantom treatment, I now have all 3 pairs of skis treated along with my wife's pair. I've also promoted this to my friends, who trust my opinion in snow sports, and they love it as well. Whether it's your race skis, park skis or powder skis the phantom treatment gives you the same ride every time. Going forward I will ALWAYS treat my skis with the phantom treatment. Came here to get my snowboard tuned up for the winter season. It took about three weeks which is perfectly normal. However I was told and expected that my board was going to have the edges sharpened and the bottom of the board to be waxed. Upon picking up my snowboard and inspecting it, it didn't seem like anything had been done to the bottom of the board. The edges were very well done. But I'm very disappointed in the bottom of the snowboard. The employe I left the board with the first time assured me that all the scratches were surface level and would be taken care of. But after picking it up and still seeing most if not all the scratches still there they told me that they were too deep and I would have to pay extra to have the deeper scratches removed/fixed. I would have been okay paying extra for whatever services were needed but the fact that I was lied to and told that all the scratches would be gone and then they weren't is unexceptionable. read more

Bought a new set of skis, boots, bindings, and poles. Picked up on 12/26/23, and one of the boot buckles broke on 1/1/4 not even a week later. Boots had a two year warranty from Salomon, but Aspen refused to warranty. Salesman said he would put old Nordica buckle on and that was the best they would offer. Took the boots to REI ski shop and they said it was clearly covered under warranty. Sad that Aspen will not warranty what they sell. Plastic was broke around buckle anchor point. Clearly not repairable, let alone with butchered parts from another manufacture. Shocked a ski shop would try and send someone out the door in unsafe equipment. read more

I've been snowboarding 18 years now and love how knowledgeable the staff was with my needs. Alex(I believe) talked to me asked what I like to ride/what my intentions were, and pointed me to the perfect board instantly. The base shape/asymmetrical edges, short length in relation to feel, flat spots underfoot, mixed with the soft flex without sacrificing pop was PERFECT. He asked the correct questions and gave the proper advice. Also at checkout he reviewed an older issue I had with the store(my issue not the stores) and he talked to management and fixed the issue instantly. This is the type of store that I'd love to work at if I was an expert on winter sports. The employees are super laid-back, friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to answer questions. They don't talk to you like you're dumb even when you are dumb about skiing or snowboarding. I bought a board, bindings, and boots package here and they were very helpful during the entire fitting process. They even upgraded to higher-end boots for free because the ones that came with the package deal were not available in my size. The included installation & tune-up is great as well - saves me the effort! Employees also don't push too hard when it comes to buying accessories and recommend that you actually come back when there's a sale. I really appreciated that because there's nothing I hate more than pushy car salesman types! I actually prefer this location to the Polaris one just because its bigger and less-crowded. Plus, it's right next to Tensuke Market which gives me an excuse to go pick up some tasty snacks afterwards! ;) read more

After skiing a couple times, I got hooked. I spent an hour at Mad River Mt trying on boots until I found one that fit well, and I said to myself never again - and immediately went to Aspen. I was incredibly impressed with their staff. Being my first pair of skis, boots, etc, I had no clue how long the process would take. I rolled into there an hour before closing time and got out a half hour after they closed, and nobody seemed rushed or upset that I was holding them up. The gentleman helping me checked out my feet and how I hold them, and recommended a few boots. We got our winner on the 3rd try but adjusted them for over half an hour. Every little pinch I felt, he'd go and make an adjustment to them until they were perfect. The real above and beyond came when he asked when I'd planned to go skiing, and I said hopefully tonight. Apparently the tune up process takes a few days to complete, typically. But he said to hang tight and they'd do a quick tune, and make sure I was out on the slopes that night. He gave me a free coupon to come back and get a real tune up a couple days later. In addition, he gave me some great tips about how to take care of the skis, and even recognized me when I came back in for the tune up. Couldn't be happier. I contacted Aspen about ski purchase or rental for one child. We don't ski often and stay in Ohio, so we were looking for a basic, low-end set of skis. One of the staff members, Ethan if I remember, walked me through some options over the phone and recommended we come in. When we arrived, Reagan found a great set of skis with boots that open in the back and bindings that are adjustable for different boot sizes. The price was excellent. We were so impressed, we came back to purchase a second set for another child. A few rentals made the purchase worth it and saved a lot of time. Aspen does have a program where you can return gear for a discount in the future. We plan on passing the gear down to each child, and she helped us make decisions accordingly (went with neutral color skis). read more

They have done a great job with their summer tune up special on my skis for the past several years.

My boyfriend is a never-been before beginner and bought his board/bindings/boots here. The dude who helped us was patient with our never ending questions and ended spending about half an hour (if not more) fitting boots, then bindings. The tune up is included with the new package and had a relatively quick turnaround: paid for on Friday, pick up on Tuesday. I'm a little less enamored with this location simply because it doesn't have nearly as much selection as the Polaris location. It's almost the same size (square footage wise) with less than half the merchandise as the Polaris store. Which is not a big deal. At ski shops, service is prone to be uneven cuz the staff might just be so far above helping the newbs. This was rarely the case at Aspen S&B, especially when the staff is so patient and willing to call up to Polaris to do stock checks. But depending on who you get, they might not be as knowledgeable about a specific product as the next person. read more

Young staff. They cater to their age group. Prices are pretty good considering you're shopping in Ohio for skis. You need to know what you're looking for or want when you go in. I got no help and after 20 minutes I asked if there was anyone there that knew anything about skis. 4 young guys looked at each other, all standing behind the counter, talking with girls had no idea how to even answer my question. Quite comical. They looked scared. Just ask for the person in charge. I have been skiing twice as long as most of the sales people have been alive. Took our family of 6 here to get set up for our first family ski trip. AJ greeted us right when we walked in and spent the next 2 hours helping us. Not only did he have the best personality but was very patient and super knowledgeable. I also was able to talk them into upgrading to 2011 bindings for me, which was another awesome score. Our first experience, the snowboard bolt came off on my son's snowboard on his second time down. Luckly Mad River Mountain fixed the board or we would have lost a day of snowboarding. They did give us a free rental. The second time, my husband waited over 40 minutes for the rental when they said 5 minutes. We got a giftcard or we would not be returning. read more
