So very disappointed! This was a multi-month long granite countertop purchase and installation…read moreprocess. Paid downpayment on 8/3. Template made 10/3. Install on 10/13 (one day late). I am attaching photos. I was excited when a man about 70ish came to do the initial measurements. I had no doubt he was a master craftsman and was thrilled. But the template was made by, I think his son. He aslo did the install. His sister called the night before he was supposed to be installing, that he was sick so it was installed a day later than agreed upon which messed up a plumber. I inspected the job before I cut the check. Only because I mentioned these problems did he confess to them. He would have left without pointing them out. I paid the full price which makes me incredibly gullible. You can see the gap of over an inch from the granite to the west side wall. You can also see where they cut into a wooden chair rail too far on the edge of the eastern side. The heartbreaker was that the puppy didn't match the grain on the two opposing ends. The center piece (sink) was laid east to west but the two side counters were cut north to south. I expected the grain to be in one direction as we bought a huge slab. The edge of the east block to the north/south block isn't flush. It was a poor job that I waited for since August (July if you count our going to the stoneyard in Windsor). I've wanted a granite countertop my whole adult life and was in tears after they left because it cost a fortune and wasn't done well. It was a poor job that cost a fortune and took months. I CANNOT RECOMMEND as the son is more an apprentice who should learn more from his elder/master before being given his own install.

Jason and Sarah redid my fireplace last year which you can see on their website at JD Tile LLC…read more The hearth in particular was not an easy job but they worked out a great solution to level it all out and installed all the tile beautifully. I couldn't be happier with the final outcome so this year I had Jason come back to do a tile shower install and again he did not disappoint. Great communication, timely and incredible attention to detail. He was very attentive to what I was looking for in my design and executed it perfectly. I highly recommend him.

Here is the laundry list of services they performed: - Demoed the kitchen - Moved electrical and plumbing - Replaced light switches and outlets. - Installed new luxury vinyl flooring - Coordinated the addition and hook-up of gas to the kitchen for the oven. - Installed custom cabinets - Installed new appliances - Installed a hood range and created the vent to the outside. - Tiled the kitchen backsplash, which included accent pieces, and the half bath floor - Hooked up new sink and faucets - Updated the light fixtures - Replaced all the quarter round and added new base where needed. - Cut and hung 4 picture shelves so they met in the corner in the living room. - Hung floating shelves, mirror, towel rack, and toilet paper holder in half bathroom. - Installed shiplap in living room and half bathroom. - Applied restrictors to the new cabinet doors for me. They were flexible with me and allowed me to paint in between activities, they were fun to work with, and I think they were reasonably priced. I definitely recommend JD General Contracting and plan to use them in the future for the main bathroom renovation.

It worries us to think that corners were cut on other parts of the job and that we will have new and potentially more damaging shortcuts surface in the future... We have reached out to Mr. Pescatore and have not heard back from him or his company... Now we have to hire someone else to redo the vents properly...

Pescatore Home…read moreImprovement has always provided the best priced quotes for any jobs I've had, and they get the job done properly. I've worked with a lot of contractors in town, and though it's taken a while for me to write this review, I definitely stand by my rating here. Setting up a quote is pretty straight forward, and Jim is very clear and thoughtful in considering the job in question. Correspondence after wards could be improved, as I've waited a while for a call back that later was admitted to have been forgotten, but all in all, they've got a pretty streamlined process. Jobs are all inclusive and clearly stated. They start and end on time for the most part, thanks to his formidable work force, but I have had a project get extended for a few days due to a work site emergency elsewhere that required immediate attention. Which is understandable. It's hard to go wrong with Pescatore Home Improvement, and he should be your first call for any project.
