You get a licensed Arborist, not just a guy who cuts down trees. The owner/Arborist is an artist and an acrobat in trees 100 feet tall. His work was better than I could have hoped for and was exactly what I had asked him and his workers to do. My request was very difficult: to remove 5 pine (spruce) trees that were growing up and through a huge, ancient (possibly 250 years old) red oak tree that is being considered as one of Connecticut's notable trees. Most of the pine trees were over 100 feet tall. This was no easy task, because the red oak had to be pruned and protected, while cutting down and disentangling all the pines from within its branches. They did a GREAT JOB! The Arborist and his workers were not only extremely helpful in their communication with me, but were professional, knowledgeable, courteous, timely, and not only did an exceptional job on removing the 5 trees. but also, a great job at cleaning up, removing all the debris, and protecting the yard. My home, my yard, my red oak tree, and even my driveway looked perfect when they finished. The Arborist even looks out for animal nests and baby animals while cutting trees. What could be better! I called Orion Tree Company, and they were extremely helpful and knowledgable about all the possible angles I could take. They came out and removed a load dead branches, leaving a flawless clean up in their wake. Not even a twig left on the lawn after an understandably messy trimming process while they addressed the dead branches. We're going to try a fertilizer treatment later in the season, as per their suggestion. They were very transparent, as far as how practical or realistic any course of action we might take - our tree is most likely going to die, so with the treatment suggestion they also warned that there was no guarantee this would work, and we would most likely lose the tree anyways.
