Warning! We used 3g Chimney at the end of last season to clean flue for our wood stove insert. Long story short, first burn this year we had a chimney fire. Alex, the same employee of 3g as last year came out to inspect. He apologized and said he missed the top of our chimney where we had a creosote build up. Turns out he didn't go on our roof last year! Alex chiseled the creosote out (firemen told us it was 99% clogged) and Alex said the owner of 3g would be in touch about the needed repairs. Despite calls, 3g never came back. Our stove is disconnected and damaged. So is the top of the chimney. While we are fortunate not to have lost our lives, pets or house, this is absolutely unacceptable. We will be making an insurance claim at this point and I expect them to pursue 3g for damages. read more

Fantastic service. Punctual, pleasant, and professional. While replacing our chimney liner, the workers saw that our chimney from the roof up was in a bad state, with crumbling mortar. 3G Chimney charged us $160 to come give an estimate, saying it could be applied to the fee if we decided to use them. A neighbor had used them without any problems, so we expected to end up using them. An employee came out , went up on the roof first, then came in and looked up the chimney from the fireplace. When he stood up he swayed and said " Whoa!". When my husband asked if he was all right , he said he has vertigo! After having already been on our roof! He collected the $160 cash,gave a receipt, and said the owner would get back to us about the estimate. The owner called a week or more later , and said he would come back out himself, that his worker did not get the correct photos. We never saw him, or heard from him again. We called a couple of weeks later and had to leave a message, asked for our money back because if they were this unreliable about just the estimate, we did not want to use them. That was about 2 weeks ago, and we have not heard anything from them. Lesson learned! The one star is only because I needed to add a star rating to revie! read more

I hired 3G Chimney to tear down and rebuild my chimney. They were responsive to my inquiry within a day or two and seemed trustworthy as well as professional. I had used them for chimney cleaning in the past. My chimney was badly breaking apart and a little water was leaking through the cracked mortar and into my home. I needed it fixed because I was trying to sell my home and it was noted as a problem in a home inspection report. I assumed they would be doing the work themselves but instead they subcontracted someone else to do the work. That subcontractor did not take proper precautions when rebuilding the chimney and damaged the shingles on my 3 year old roof. They did over $1250.00 worth of damage. I only learned of the damage because of a roof inspection done days after the "repair". Unfortunately I had already paid them by then. When I contacted them about the damage they ignored my email(s) until I sent a certified letter weeks later informing them I would take legal action. When the owner of 3G Chimney responded via a call he claimed the damage was already there. Unfortunately for him, I had photographic proof (From the prior home inspection) the damage was not previously there. I asked for a certificate of insurance because I wanted it repaired legally. He then became aggressive and we argued. After I stood my ground he relented and agreed to send it to me but then changed his mind days later. He called and became very aggressive telling me going through insurance was stupid. He said he wanted to meet me in person to talk. An attempt to intimate me. I refused and again He relented and said he would fix it. I told him I wanted my original roofer to fix it because I trusted the craftsmanship and wanted it completed correctly. He agreed to send payment. Over the following weeks he refused to send payment or respond to emails or calls. The subcontractor who did the damage, to his credit, sent half of the total payment for damages but 3G Chimney never did. Weeks turned into months. I could occasionally catch the owner of 3G Chimney via a phone call and he would claim he forgot to send the money. This went on week after week. Finally, it got to a point where he sent me a picture of a check and claimed it was in the mail just to get me to stop calling. It has been 3 months at this point. It never arrived. In addition to all of this, the new chimney leaked even worse than before. They had done such a poor job with the flashing and had removed the water barrier material. I called and was able to speak to the owner about the leak. He told me I needed to spend an additional $500.00 to seal the brick and mortar. In order to get my home back on the market and sold I had no choice but to pay the remaining balance myself to have the damages repaired by my original roofer. It has been 6 months and I can't get any response from 3G Chimney. read more

They were able to fit us in right away for a chimney cleaning but never came back to do the follow up for the on the roof inspection (it was sleeting the day they were here and our roof is very steep so going on it wouldn't have been safe) or to replace the cotter pin that he broke off the damper (so we still can't open it to use the fireplace if need arose). Eddie was very friendly and did a great job cleaning out our fireplace and one of our three flues (old house, lots of pie plates on the walls). He was very honest about the others not needing to be done and said we easily had a year or two before they needed addressing. We wanted to have a woodstove installed and Robert was VERY knowledgeable about the codes to follow, etc but we "fell under their radar" at least twice and felt like maybe we weren't that important as a customer to them so we still have no woodstove; or pin to open the damper.
