We had gone through a lot with my dad before he passed away and so we knew what we wanted and what we didn't. Unfortunately, the informal network we used for my dad didn't have women caregivers so we were back to to square one. After doing a lot of research with the local senior center and online we called For Papa's Sake, which is based out of the town next to where my mom lives. From the very first phone call I suspected we had gotten lucky. After a couple of calls and some group discussion between me, my mom and a For Papa's Sake senior person we decided we'd try them out. And am I glad we did. They listened to my mom's and my requests, likes, dislikes, deal-breakers etc. and they never batted an eye. They did say it might take a bit longer than usual (given our needs) to find the right care giver, but they called back in less than 5 days and we had a care giver within 10 days to 2 weeks of that 1st main discussion. That care giver has worked out so well. It has really improved our lives and I can go days without worrying about my mom...what a relief. That's what For Papa's Sake provides: relief! If you are looking for an alternative to a nursing home or aged care facility or whatever you want to call it, For Papa's Sake really cares and I would encourage you to give them a call. They have worked out great for us and I would not recommend them for something so important if they weren't doing a great job.

I spoke to Erica, the community liaison, who was very helpful & got someone to come out within two short days. The nurse Ursula was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly patient & knowledgeable. She then helped us find another affordable option through our township, which was a godsend. We wouldn't have discovered this if it weren't for Ursula genuinely wanting to help us. We couldn't be more grateful. Highly recommend them. Very caring and supportive.

First of all, they were suggested to me by the Kenneth Young center, which I find odd in retrospect. I was told at the start that every attempt would be made to achieve consistency. But suspiciously, I was discouraged by Ursula the nurse to try to meet any of the caregivers to give them a tour of where things are in my 88 year old mother's house. Then I found out why: Over a period of about 2 and a half months my mom has had 15 or more different people coming to her house. Her schedule is by no means demanding: Just 4 hours 6 nights a week and 5 hours two days a week. 2 or 3 people should easily be able to cover such a schedule. I never realized the vast amount of different people because all the invoices come 2 weeks after the date. One woman seemed to come regularly and my mom liked her and the caregiver knew what to do, but often it was some new person filling in a shift who a) my mom didn't know and b) didn't know what to do or how to do it. About four times no one showed up at all, and once a woman left early because she had to drive to another town to care for someone. Because of the inconsistency of staff, the quality of work really suffered. I think they tried and it certainly wasn't the caregiver's fault, but they just had no idea what was going on. More importantly, it really soured my mom on having caregivers come at all because it was like being invaded by an unhelpful stranger all the time. I complained about this to the manager and she told me they were understaffed and having a major crisis. Previous to that, I had complained about the inconsistency to Ursula and she told me the caregivers just picked up whatever shift they wanted and the managers had no control over it! This is not the impression I was given when we signed up. I feel I was lied to more or less. When I finally realized how many people were coming, I complained once again and was told in a vague way they would talk about it at their next meeting. All in all I complained to three of the upper management and they did absolutely nothing. In fact, there was a lot of passing of the buck. Home Instead is the company I switched to and they took the time to design a schedule with 3 caregivers for my mom. I'm sorry this business is having problems; perhaps the quality will improve when they lose enough clients. I called to cancel service and told them I'd be quitting in 2 days, the last day being Wednesday. Guess what, *no one* came to my mother's house that last day. I had to go help my mom on what should have been a day off.

Very worth it to hire My Solutions, they did a great job organizing the logistics, arranged for a great moving company (Hollander), packed everything up and unpacked it and put it away on the other end. They hauled away a couple of pieces of furniture we didn't need anymore which was much easier than called Got Junk. I highly recommend Gloria and My Solutions for moving your parents or yourselves into independent living, assisted living or memory care. It also helps that she knows all the people at these facilities and they know and trust her services. Thank you Gloria, turned what could have been awful day into an great one.

We hired them to pack and unpack my 93 yr. old mother's house when she moved from a duplex into an apartment. Lori was so sweet & encouraging to my mom, who was completely overwhelmed & sad to have to move. She listened to her stories as they packed up a lifetime of memories & she and her team went above & beyond to make sure everything was meticulously packed & carefully unpacked. Lori kept a sharp eye on the movers to make sure they were being careful. The next day my mom told me that as much as she hated that she had to move, she "enjoyed" the process of moving because of how beautifully it was handled. That's the highest praise she could have given. I can't recommend this company enough!

We were assigned Emily as our case manager and she was great to work with. However, we interacted the most with Grace who was on-call at the time we engaged them and helped my Dad a good bit during his last couple of days. Grace was super patient with us when we asked lots of questions about his care and hospice in general. LifeChoice also provided a rabbi for us and I think my father really appreciated that the rabbi visited with him for over an hour. I think they provided my father a lot of peace and comfort during his final days. My only regret was not engaging them sooner. Thank you LifeChoice for all of the help you provided my father and our family.

Their whole demeanor and attitude is that of angels, compassion, empathy, love..When he was in the hospital, he was not receiving the proper pain management, they kept delaying the hospitals hospice program while my dad was dying in pain. I was desperate to get him home. Alena, the administrator, moved mountains to make that happen. They got my dad home in less than 18 hours, they were by my father's bedside within two hours of me calling desperate for help, which felt like a miracle during such a difficult time. Daniel, the nurse who came to the hospital, was so attentive and caring such a such a genuine person. And once we were home, nurse Julie and nurse Grace took over and truly went above and beyond. They made sure the bed oxygen tanks supplies and meds was delivered before my dad even got home. They made sure my dad was comfortable, out of pain, and surrounded by dignity and respect--something he was not receiving in the hospital. there was also a Sweet CNA that came to help as well, Because of them, my dad was able to pass peacefully at home, just as he deserved. That means everything to me my father and our family. All of my father's friends and loyal family were able to come visit with him before he passed the next morning.. I highly recommend this hospice agency to anyone going through end-of-life care for a loved one--or even for themselves. Don't wait until the last minute. Have this hospice team set up ahead of time--you will not regret it. They are truly angels doing God's work. Shannon Johnson-parson
