The Nurses, Caregivers, Activity coordinators, especially Kristi, Issac and the kitchen Staff all the way down to the laundry gals & the maintenance man Alex. I wish I could name them all. They take such good care of their residents, They get to know the families by first name. Kept me updated at all times. They helped me have a better understanding of Dementia and the behaviors that come with it. Gisela and her staff deserve a metal, they are all so compassionate. The last few months she was in hospice (Suncrest Hospice) Red contacted me weekly and her hospice nurse Gloria are the best of the best. Gloria took such good care of her. Dressing her up so pretty, lipstick and little color on her cheeks. The day she died she looked so beautiful, you never would have known she was 96 years old. She went very peacefully and I know deep down she appreciated each and everyone of you at the Waverly by making the end of her life so wonderful. Thank you, Susan S

I do not recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want their loved one neglected. My grandmother…read morestayed here from July 31st-August 17th. She was dropped off early and picked up after dinner, 18 full days. Kelly, the admissions person was nice and reviews were good so I had high hopes. I am my grandmothers POA and caretaker, so I know how she is. She is very easy to take care of compared to others. I visited her one time at about 2:30pm halfway through her stay- she was laying in bed in soaked diapers, dirty pajamas, her classes and hearing aid were gone. She smelled strong like she needed a shower, and this was only halfway through her respite. No excuse for her to be alone and uncared for in the middle of the day. When it came time to pick her up on her last day, the first thing my grandmother said to me was "PLEASE give me a shower, they haven't bathed me one time!" My grandmother does not like showers- so the fact that she asked me for one says A LOT. She would remember taking one at a new place if she did. Outside of this stay- she went to an adult day group that gives her showers. The first thing she tells me every shower day when I pick her up is- I got a shower. Arden courts tried to tell me that Diane did get showers- but she must of forgot because of dementia. Based off the way she smelled, as well as the HORRIBLE yeast infections she had (under her breast and other places) it was very clear they let her go 18 days without a shower. When I did my tour- I was told that they give 3+ showers a week. She should've been given OVER 6 not 0, that is what I paid for. Arden court lost my grandmothers hearing aid as well, and did nothing to make it right. We had to get a new one and she went weeks without it. A woman named Angie or Angelica works there- she was very rude when I told her my concerns. This woman told me Diane was given 2 showers during her stay, that is no where near enough for 18 days even if true. She ignored my calls and emails, when we did talk she was just not kind and seemed to laugh at me. Last we talked was months ago, she said she would call me back to let me know if they can pay for Diane's hearing aid replacement. I called multiple times and got told I need to wait for a call- which never came. Very unprofessional. When I dropped my grandmother off the first day- the nurse didn't even want to speak with me or take her medicine, she was very annoyed and I had to wait over an hour. Even then she was still confused why I was trying to leave, maybe because I'm paying you guys to take care of her so I can get a break! Very frustrating experience.

We had gone through a lot with my dad before he passed away and so we knew what we wanted and what we didn't. Unfortunately, the informal network we used for my dad didn't have women caregivers so we were back to to square one. After doing a lot of research with the local senior center and online we called For Papa's Sake, which is based out of the town next to where my mom lives. From the very first phone call I suspected we had gotten lucky. After a couple of calls and some group discussion between me, my mom and a For Papa's Sake senior person we decided we'd try them out. And am I glad we did. They listened to my mom's and my requests, likes, dislikes, deal-breakers etc. and they never batted an eye. They did say it might take a bit longer than usual (given our needs) to find the right care giver, but they called back in less than 5 days and we had a care giver within 10 days to 2 weeks of that 1st main discussion. That care giver has worked out so well. It has really improved our lives and I can go days without worrying about my mom...what a relief. That's what For Papa's Sake provides: relief! If you are looking for an alternative to a nursing home or aged care facility or whatever you want to call it, For Papa's Sake really cares and I would encourage you to give them a call. They have worked out great for us and I would not recommend them for something so important if they weren't doing a great job.
