We called Climatrol and they were out to our house within an hour or so. They had to replace all of the burners in the heater and it turned out that, that didn't fix the problem. Luckily, the owner Doug was there and he finally determined that when the heater was first installed, they had used orifices for LP gas and not natural gas, which is what we have. Fortunately, they were able to get the correct orifices and get the heater running. He spent 3 hours there with another guy and only charged us $250. They are our go-to HVAC company.

The experienced team at Integrity Air led by Brandon suggested that we start to look at replacement options proactively and not wait for total failure in the heat of the summer. This was excellent advice. Integrity Air came over to our house and suggested that we replace our old outdated units with the more modern higher efficiency furnace/AC units and made suggestions for better installation techniques to remedy the previous installation problems. Since we planned the project in advance, we were able to schedule the installation project based on our schedule. We selected the middle grade products from Rheem which provide high efficiency ratings of 95% for the gas furnace and 16 SEER for the AC units. I am a woodworker, and started the task of finishing my basement. The company was among the first few I called to discuss my needs. Owner Hugh was on time for our appointment, and spent over an hour with me discussing my renovation. We negotiated special circumstances such as vents for my wood shop, a future man cave storage areas. In the beginning of my journey, I was sold on the idea of a mini split unit. But after...a second site visit a few weeks later to yet again discuss my needs, Hugh presented us with a very fair scope of work. As we live in an HOA, we needed to get board approval to do the work. We needed to hire an electrician to install the drops. And I had some rearranging to do for the workers. Not once did I get a high pressure sales call. I didn't feel put on the spot. And he did professionally follow up on two occasions to check in with us...as any good business owner should. After we completed the prep work and gained approvals, the crew showed up EXACTLY on time, and walked the job with me. We ensured we were all aligned. I was so happy with the crew that I bought their lunch. The job carried over to day two. Again on time, and professional. When the job was complete, we walked it again. The crew cleaned up after the selves. Nice touch! Not everyone does. So there you have it. A bit verbose? Sure. However, with a significant investment like this, it's important to be comfortable with your tradesman. They are price gouging like crazy. Jacked prices up to 3x or more than they were with Hugh. They do not care that the locals have been loyal to Cheshire for so many years. They're changing everything from trying to turn service techs in to robots to somehow trying to create Cheshire as a brand. They try to cut corners and order cheaper parts to make more profit. Only for the parts to be wrong and it take even longer to do a repair. And then the best part is if an employee has an opinion about the way they're making changes, they're fired. Tommy is no longer a tech here. Jeremy is gone. Matt quit. I'm sure Sam is next. These guys are also operating on paper as Cheshire home services because they do not have proper certifications and licensures to operate a HVAC company. Pretty sure they're trying to create their own supply house where they will sell their own units and have people to service them. Do not trust these new owners. They're nothing but liars and they will rip you off. Parts that cost maybe $100 l- you're gonna be charged over 5 times that cost. For example- the customer who had a system still under warranty. But the new owner, Josh, decided he wanted to push a new system on this guy. Like. The unit is still under FACTORY warranty. Not even into the extended warranty yet. He's a SCAM. First time calling, I had a discussion with a tech. He seemed very knowledgeable. I explained to him what I was wanting in a system and told him I had already received one quote. He asked if the quote was less that 15K to which I said yes. To that he said "go with that guy, if he can get you a system for that price". I took that advice, only to find out later that the guy was not licensed. So back to the drawing board we went. I called JF Maxwell a second time and spoke to Jim. I was told to email him my set of plans and that he would schedule some time to go look at the house and get back to me. Two weeks go by and I hear nothing. I call back a third time and get Jim again. I told him that I had spoken to him a couple of weeks prior and was waiting on a quote from him. He had no recollection, so he took my info again and said he'd put it in the system and get someone out to take a look and that he would have a quote for me a couple of days after the visit. A few days later I see their truck visit the site via my security camera. Then I wait, I hear nothing. Called back a fourth time and spoke to a receptionist. I explained to her that I needed to make a decision and was waiting on a quote from them. I was told she would pass on the message and that they'd have the quote back to me by the end of the day. I hear nothing. Again, called back a few days later and got a receptionist. I voiced my disappointment and tell her at this point I don't even need a quote. She promises me to get someone to get back to me asap. Next thing I know, I get another visit scheduled at my site. I don't even care at this point. I do see their truck arrive on my camera, but my builder was at the property and sent them away. I get a feeling these guys are either very disorganized or just way to busy to be able to handle new business, or both. Or perhaps they only like to work on new builds that satisfy a higher price point. Whatever the case may be, I find them to be very unprofessional. I always try to get three quotes. If you are not able to take on new business or are not interested, just tell me. I would've called someone else. Dealing with JFMaxwell was a total waste of time. This would've been close to a $20K sale for them, but they don't seem to care. I hope the owner reads this review. There is something wrong going on at this business that he really needs to fix.
