I called Pendley along with 3-4 other HVAC companies for estimates. When I called Pendley, the woman on the phone was rude right from the start, but I ignored it and just wanted the estimate. She never mentioned there would be a $125 fee for the estimate--if she had, I would've gone elsewhere. None of the other companies charged for estimates; they were all free. Pendley scheduled a tech to come out on a Wednesday at 8:30 AM. He showed up late, never called, and never even explained anything before leaving. I called the office, and they said they'd send me the estimate. During that follow-up call, they casually mentioned the $125 charge. I told them I wasn't paying because I was never made aware of that fee. I never got the estimate in writing, but I did get a call saying it would cost "around $400" to replace my ductwork. I almost spit out my drink. The actual cost for this job--now completed by another company--was about $3,500. Months later, Pendley called demanding I pay the $125. I explained again that I was never informed upfront and didn't think it was fair to charge me after the fact. They said I'd be hearing from the owner. He left a rude voicemail, so I called back to clear things up. Instead of listening, he said, "I've heard the recording, and she told you there was a fee. Do you really think I'd drive all the way to Cedartown for free?" Look, I don't care if a company charges for estimates--that's their prerogative--but customers need to be told up front. He then threatened to take me to magistrate court over this $125! I initially told him I'd pay it just to get it over with, but something felt off. The next day, I called and asked to hear the recording. Suddenly, the owner wasn't so confident. He snapped, "Do you really think I'm going to go through all that effort over $125?" Well, sir, you're the one dragging me through this. He told me I'd have to drive to their office to hear it, then when i said i would, he backpedaled and hung up. So either A) they don't have the recording, or B) they do--and it proves I was never told about the fee. This is not how you treat customers. Threatening people with court over something that was never disclosed is beyond unprofessional. I will never do business with Pendley again and highly recommend others stay away.

Fritts himself (owner)showed up in the blink of an eye. A very nice easy going guy with years of knowledge and expertise. Appearing that the thermostat was bad he had to go to the warehouse to pick up a new one. Once back replacing the old one began. He let me watch and ask questions and just had and interesting conversation about anything and everything. Well strange the new one didn't work either. So after so quick troubleshooting in the basement furnace he found a defective in line fuse blown. Replacing the fuse and low and behold, success the thermostat was working. So being the nice guy he removed his unit and put the original back in. Problem solved. So in closing after spending hours in trouble shooting and traveling back and forth he only charged me for the service call. Absolutely amazing! They are unethical and will try to rip you off. We signed up for their yearly maintenance plan in which they come to check your AC and heat once a year. The first time the technician came to check our AC, he barely did anything and said it was all fine. A couple of months later, our refrigerant is almost gone! HOW??? The second technician then fills it in, tightens all the screws and goes on his way (after we spent almost $1000). Now it's time to use heat about a month later and it's not heating. We have them come out AGAIN. Now miraculously all the lines/nuts/bolts are loose and we have NO refrigerant. They tried to charge us $3500 for this. When it was their fault because they didn't do their due diligence the second time they were there. If everything was tightened, how did this happen? We did not think this was right. He filled it up, tightened everything and from what the manager said he was doing a leak test. Leak test was fine (so they say). Also technicians should be aware when they are standing outside of someone's house discussing having client's pay for something they shouldn't have to. We have cameras! Now that was a few weeks ago and our heat is struggling again! So they DID NOTHING FOR US! WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. Unethical and will do the bare minimum or looks like even mess up your system more so they have to come back to fix it.

She goes and ask for an answer with every question i ask. finally, she informed me that they do not schedule after hours and weekend. somebody calls tomorrow and schedules me for Saturday. then the day after, somebody else calls and say; they made mistake and schedule me for Monday. now, they texted me and said; oh. sorry. we don't work on trailers. if they have problem with the scheduling, i am sure they have problem with fixing and replacement of items too. this was the last time that i will call them and ask for their help. they need to train their representative about information.
