So rude, ignorant and completely degrading. The young lady responded, after asking for schedule an appointment- "it's almost been 2 years since your last appointment". I responded by saying that's because I had an appointment with them inn September in which THEY cancelled. She responded in a loud and ignorant tone of voice "well, we left you a message to call back to re-schedule". Hence why I am calling you now bitch. I did not have a good experience with this practice. I came in with a respiratory issue that I'm still trying to diagnose and resolve. Over two months, I had multiple interactions with their physicians, nurses, and office administrators that were extremely poor. Below is the summary: - I received a diagnosis that my Northwestern Medicine PCP said didn't make any sense. - I had a follow-up CT and was asked to bring the images to the office by the nurse practitioner. When I tried to drop the CD off at the office, the front desk staff told me that they can't accept the CD because "they might lose it". - When I dropped off the radiology reports to their office, I didn't receive a follow-up from my pulmonologist for a week. - The results of my sleep apnea test were ready 2 days after the test was completed, but it took me 30 days and 5 phone calls to receive the results. - My pulmonologist was out of office for several weeks and didn't have any redundancy with the other partners in their practice. - One day their office phone systems were down. My call was automatically forwarded to their answering service, but I never received a response from the main office. I called back 3 times and waited 7 days to hear from them.. - This practice ultimately acknowledged that my issue was too complex and referred me to a larger and more capable health system like University of Chicago or Northwestern. This practice seems much better suited for managing known issues than for diagnosing new, complex issues. I was extremely disappointed in their limited sophistication and complete lack of attention to detail. They weren't proactive in working my diagnosis, dropped the ball at multiple points in my journey, and ultimately steered me to a more sophisticated care center. While I appreciate their ultimate honesty about their limitations, I also lost time in trying to diagnose and resolve my issue. read more

Poorly run clinic, Incompetent office staff. Hard to work with and make too many mistakes. This clinic seems to be more interested in how much they can bill you or bill your insurance than patient treatment. I have to call the office several times to resolve an issue that should take one call. read more

I have seen my physician on more than one occasion here. Sometimes I get in quickly sometimes I have to wait. The staff is always courteous. And it has better parking operations than at the hospital. read more

Dr. Walsh was called in when I was in hospital and solved a breathing problem, He made two other folowup visits. I found nim very knowledgeable and easy to understand. At his suggestion I followed up wih a breathing test, and sleep study and found the technicians to be very knowledgeable and friendly. My only complaint was they got me up at 5:30 AM 8:00 AM would have been better. They did keep a employee there until my ride arrived. I find the office staff friendly, courteous, helpful and was treated with respect. I am pleased with Midwest respiratory and will continue to use this medial group. read more

I guess I should have read the reviews before calling. This is in regards to their New Lenox location. Apparently they did their training at Joliet, because the reviews are the same as my experience. Tried to book an appointment, the earliest was September 6 and I called on 6/21. Tried booking something for late afternoon, the earliest was 10/29. The phone answerer (cant call her a receptionist, because that would be insulting good recptionists) was rude and condescending. She hung up on me when I questioned something. My recent experience at Midwest Respiratory vastly differs than the previous posters. I was referred by my primary physician and obtained an appointment within a reasonable timeframe, managed by a welcoming staff member. It is my understanding the practice is highly regarded in the Joliet region. Did I wait a bit to see my doctor? Yes. This is a common occurrence at any doctors' offices these days ... particularly the good ones! Once seen, the Pulmonologist addressed my shortness of breath and prescribed a treatment plan. Overall, I was pleased with my experience and plan to continue my follow up appointments. Happy to provide a positive review as I, too, am a business owner and wish our happy customers took the time to post their experience. Midwest Respiratory is a fine practice with skilled physicians. read more

I never in my life was treated so disrespectful by a doctor's office. If the 9 doctors knew how patients were treated when calling for appointment, they would be outraged! I called the office 8 days ago for a appointment for a second opinion . I was told I couldn't get a appointment until October. In the meantime have my doctor send test results over to their office. Then a "nurse" will review the test results and they will call me to schedule an appointment. I had my tests results faxed that day. No one has called me back in 8 days. Last week (Friday) after waiting 5 days , I called another pulmonologist in Westmont. I have a appointment for September 13th. I was able to see the doctor of my choice in this group. This is not how you treat people. I should be able to make my appointment at my convenience. 9 doctors, 1 person answering phones and 3 nurses. I wanted a pulmonologist that was close. Silver Cross hospital is close. My health is more important than convenient location. I hope the Doctors read this. read more

From the moment I stepped into this practice I felt like I was in safe hands. I came to this practice desperate for some answers and help with my shortness of breath. The doctor that treated me managed to piece together my symptoms better than anyone before. I've had thorough investigations and now have a treatment plan that has changed my life. I'm surprised to see any negative comments about the staff the staff have always put me ease with their welcome and efficiency. I really recommend this practice. read more

This was my worst experience with a Doctors visit and tests ever. I had to hunt them down to get my sleep study results. Then after I finally get a call back the women who left me a message gave me the WRONG results. Her excuse was she did not see the word "not". Then gave me the wrong number to set up the appointment for the next sleep study. once I was able to track down the right number they tell me they do not have an order because the Dr. apparently said it was not recommended. I again had to wait to get another call back. Then they want to know if I want to move my appointment up to see the Dr. about other options. Why would I or anyone for that matter ever go back here? Wrong results that I had to wait weeks to get and then was given the wrong results on top of that. I wish I had never had gone here. Horrible experience. Heather Hamell was a nurse practitioner that our family had the displeasure of speaking with while a family member was ill at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL. This extremely unprofessional woman put her own ego ahead of any rational inquiry we had for the care of our ill patient and was extremely rude to us. She is NOT a doctor, no matter how much she thinks she is. When explaining an incredibly dramatized prognosis to us, we requested a second opinion from an actual licensed doctor and this woman expressed offense to this by saying that she had "enough experience" and that we should just take her word for it. She even went so far as to say "don't speak to me like that, I am a grown woman." This behavior needs to be addressed through serious consequences to Heather in the hopes that this type of emotional damage done to a family that was already emotionally damaged does not happen to anyone else. This woman does not deserve a job in the medical field. This behavior needs to be formally addressed ASAP. To anyone reading this, please spread the word to Midwest Respiratory and Silver Cross Hospital. read more

If you're looking for horrible healthcare, this is the place to go! Incredibly unhappy with this office, the staff and Dr Walsh. Dr Walsh is more concerned with getting out of the office than the health and welfare of his patients. He mumbles when he speaks and is very difficult to understand. I also don't believe he cares if you understand or not. He consistently cancels appointments, with as little as 30 minutes notice. Appointments are then rescheduled for 4-6 weeks later and respiratory patients can not wait that long for an appointment. To hell with his patients who have taken time off of work to go to the appointment. When the staff calls you they're VERY rude, they have attitudes and I've even experienced them raising their voices for no reason. Extremely unprofessional and these women should be working in a bowling alley or gas station, not a doctor's office. read more

I saw one of the Pulmonologist for a chronic cough and shortness of breath that I have had for several months. My PCP was treating it as asthma but felt like there was something more going on. (He was not the one who recommended this group. I chose this group. Huge mistake. ) The doctor that I saw there blew off what my doctor had to say and told me the cough was from my stomach. "Acid Reflux" . He said he would get a CT of my lungs if I wanted but he "didn't expect that anything would be found" and gave me an RX for Omeprazole ( prilosec) . He disregarded the results of tests I already had done. He said they looked "normal". I left confused and went to my PCP. He was stunned , looked at me and said , " there is something very wrong . It is not acid reflux. I don't know what it is but something is wrong" and referred me to Mayo Clinic. (He read my previous test results that he ordered as problematic.) After many, many test , CT scan being one, ( the test that Dr. M didn't feel would not show anything because he was so sure it was my stomach) the initial diagnoses shows signs of a small airway obstructive disease and strong possibility for Pulmonary Hypertension as my main artery is enlarged. I am still at Mayo Clinic undergoing further tests to confirm this. I am 51 yrs. old. Never smoked a cigerette in my life. The doctor who blew off my issues and gave me medicine for my stomach could have COST ME MY LIFE had I listened to him. I am thankful my PCP knew better. read more

They are awful! Totally disengaged employees with no sense of service or accountability. I tried to set up a monthly order that is already preapproved by my insurance and they told me I had to call back every month. In the past they lost about 1/3 of the orders I do place and I have to reorder. I'm shopping now for a new supplier. read more

I wish I had read the reviews prior to making my appointment. The person I spoke to on the phone acted as if she was annoyed that I bothered her to make an appointment. I called almost two months ago for the appointment. I was sent paperwork to fill out along with my appointment date and time. Showed up fifteen minutes early and when I walked in to an empty office I was glared at by two people sitting at the desk. I had to initiate the conversation stating that I had an appointment. They said their computer system was down. I showed them my paperwork that clearly stated my date and time. In a very rude and condescending tone the person said they had me scheduled for a different date. Ridiculous! They sent me the paperwork. There were no doctors in the office so I was given another appointment date one week later. If this place wasn't so close to home I would not go back. I will follow up after the appointment read more
