The staff is compassionate and understanding of each individual's needs. The gym area is clean and equipment is cleaned between each person.

My right index finger and thumb were not in the splint and is all I had use of. I mostly became a lefty because I was strongly encouraged NOT to use my right hand at all. The normal things we do on a daily basis; washing dishes, doing laundry, getting dressed, brushing teeth, combing hair, taking a shower or bath, tying shoes and even using the restroom becomes the worst chore ever when doing it with your non-dominant hand. So grateful to my husband for all of his extra help and support. So grateful for my doctor and team of physical therapists that push me to the max. I squeeze sponges and place them in a bucket. I stack casino chips in alternating colors, alternating fingers. I search for colored pegs buried under white beads with out looking. I also receive a fluido therapy treatment and finish with a massage. My hand hurts so bad when I leave but my range of motion is improving. I am on track to return to work sometime after Labor Day.

This is from the email they sent me:…read more RECOVERY ROOM "Depending on your procedure you will spend about 30 minutes and up to 2 hours in the recovery room where a nurse will check your blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen level, and assist you with your safety and comfort needs. Once you are fully awake and comfortable you will see your family and be provided with a light snack and cold beverage. A nurse will go over your postoperative instructions ordered by your physician. The amount of time spent in the surgery center will be different for each patient. You will be discharged when it is safe for you to go home." I was brought back to a room, a nurse checked my blood pressure and after five minutes I was asked, well, are you ready to get dressed. I got dressed, and then I was asked who is driving me home, the nurse said, ok I'll have him pull to the front to pick you up. I was out the door ten minutes after my procedure. I was not offered a light snack or cold beverage, I was not given postoperative instructions, I was simply handed a red folder with material to read. Such a poor experience.

I had many surgeries and office visits, Thanks to these 2 Dr.s I was able to keep my leg and can walk today. Dr. Luke had excellent surgical skills, was always patient and informative. I owe Dr. Luke so many thanks for all that he did for me.

If you're looking for a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Kevin W. Luke is the one you…read morewant--he's beyond amazing! My son had an unfortunate accident on November 27th, just before Thanksgiving. He thought he had only dislocated his shoulder, but after an X-ray, we learned he had actually broken his clavicle bone. The hospital informed us that surgery was likely necessary, but we needed to see an orthopedic specialist to confirm. We were fortunate to secure an appointment with Parkview Orthopedic Group on December 2nd. After reviewing the X-ray, the doctor confirmed the fracture was severe, and surgery would be required to address multiple bone fragments. The earliest available surgery date was December 12th, but the very next day, we received a call that the surgery was being rescheduled. Dr. Luke was now assigned to my son's case, and he could perform the surgery on December 10th. This was a bit of good news, as it meant my son would get the care he needed sooner. On December 4th, we met Dr. Luke. He thoroughly explained the situation, describing how the bone fragments would need to be repositioned and then secure the bone with a plate. He also took the time to explain the importance of avoiding damage to my son's growth plates. Dr. Luke made us feel confident that my son was in excellent hands. The next 13 days were tough--my son had to sleep in a chair, and the bone pushed against his skin in a way that looked extremely painful. He was able to attend school up until the day before surgery, demonstrating incredible resilience. He truly handled it like a soldier. On the morning of surgery, Dr. Luke reassured us by explaining that they would perform a nerve block to manage pain for up to 24 hours after the procedure. While I was a little nervous about the nerve block after reading about it, the anesthesia team made sure my son was comfortable and explained everything to him. After about two hours in surgery, Dr. Luke came out to update me, saying the procedure went very well. He managed to reposition all but one of the bone fragments. The nerve block worked wonders, but by around 4 a.m. the next morning, as it wore off, my son experienced significant pain. Fortunately, the prescribed pain medication helped bring the discomfort to a more tolerable level. A week later, we had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Luke. The nurse removed the bandages, and everything looked great. Dr. Luke used sutures instead of staples to minimize scarring, which was another thoughtful detail. Since my son is young and recovering well, Dr. Luke gave him a list of exercises to do. We've had several follow-up appointments with Dr. Luke since then, and my son continues to heal well. He gave my son a choice of self-therapy if he wants, which he was thrilled about. Dr. Luke has been exceptional every step of the way--never rushing us, always answering our questions, and providing outstanding care. If you find yourself in need of orthopedic surgery, I can't recommend Dr. Kevin W. Luke enough. His expertise, compassion, and thoroughness made all the difference in my son's recovery. Thank you, Dr. Luke, for your excellent care and for putting my son's clavicle back together! I'm not sure what happened with the others who left negative reviews, but their experiences don't match mine at all!

Most recently, I saw Allison Manley, PA-C, and was impressed by how efficiently the office runs. I noticed that some reviewers have mentioned long wait times, but that has not been our experience. I was taken back quickly and examined within minutes, rather than being left waiting around as happens at so many medical offices. Allison performed a thorough full-body skin examination and explained what she was doing and what she was looking for throughout the appointment. She was professional, personable, and very easy to talk to. As a 60-year-old lifelong sun worshiper, I half-expected a lecture about my tan, but she addressed it professionally and without making the visit uncomfortable. From the front desk through the examination itself, the entire visit was efficient, thorough, and comfortable. We have been very pleased with the care here and would highly recommend the Palos Heights office.
