I booked a 1:10pm appt. I had to ask when I was going to be seen at 1:40. They brought me in at 1:50pm. Didn't see the "doctor" until after 2:00pm . It took an entire hour almost. The "doctor" turned out to be a drug pusher and could not help me with my request for actual alternatives given by legit Dermatologists such as UV Therapy. Warning. This is no "dermatologist" office. The location over at 400 Celebration Place in Advent is a General Practitioner's office. How in the world can you see dermatological issues under an above, singular fluorescent light? No magnifier glass. No other spot light. Went in there with wife as she was going to get skintags removed. Besides being over 2 hours late, the staff clearly disapproved of my asking questions for my wife while in the room. They ignore me and seemed aggravated that they should have to answer my questions. Dr Anam Jaffa in particular unprofessionally snapped at me when I asked why they couldn't remove another spot on my wife. First she said they it was a whole other "procedure". Then she said it was a different type of skin issue than what we were there for. read more

He took my information and was so nice on the phone. He assured me that he would make sure the records were sent ASAP. I dont understand the point in having a scheduling system for new patients then, booking an appointment and then a week later asking them to confirm the appointment they've been waiting for, then leaving a message telling your new patient they dont actually have that appointment anymore bc it needs to be rescheduled and welp, now you need to wait over a week AGAIN. Nevermind how rude and useless the girl on the phone was to boot. Save your time and find an office that actually sees patients, has polite and helpful staff, and doesn't just keep scheduling them out bc their scheduling services are incorrect or the doctor needed a vacation. read more

This is the poorest excuse of a medical practice I've even seen. I could only imagine that the ambulance chaser Drs are better than this place. The first time I went in I felt like the building must be on fire or something. The Dr rushed in and rushed out. Wouldn't answer questions. Wouldn't talk just had a can of some freeze thing and sprayed it on a few places. Said you need surgery. Schedule it with the front desk. Walked out never to be seen again. This time I scheduled an appointment for Tuesday, 1/30/2024. That was done about 2 weeks ago. On 1/25/2024 at 9:18 I got a phone call with a recorded message confirming my appointment and telling what to make sure I brought with me. Then on 1/26/2024 I got a phone call telling me that appointments made on line are not confirmed so instead of seeing me at 9am they could see me at 9:50. I told them that wasn't right, I had already rearranged my work schedule. They finally said "You can show up at 9am and we'll see you whenever we can". This really means "Come in at 9 and we'll still see you at 9:50. After my first visit I said I'd never go back and I should have stuck to it and not gone thru this frustration. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!! They are just in it for the money and could care less about patients. As long as insurance pays them they are happy. read more

Without a doubt Laura Mays, PA is the best. My wife had melanoma cancer on her heel surgical removed backi in 06. She was told to see a dermatologist every 6 months. Well over the next 9 years she had seen over a 1/2 dozen MD's(dermatologists) and she told them to make sure they inspected her heel. All of them just gave a cursory glance and said all was well. In sept 2018 I pleaded with her to go to my PA-Laura Mays-while not an MD she works under the supervision of a skin Doctor. Sure enough she gave a close exam on her heel and took 3 biopsies. came back reoccurance of meloanoma.Went to Moffit cancer ctr in tampa and had 2 surgeries ( it was fairly deep) plus a 3rd one for a skin graft. She is probably ok now, thanks to Laura Mays and the great care at Moffitt. read more

This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. Friends had told me not to go with them. BUT I didn't listen. After leaving several messages, they do not return calls. They don't answer the phone. I was given medication, went to the drug store to fill it, only to see it wasn't, or I think it wasn't the correct med. all I want is for them to tell me what medication is for what, and they won't call me. if I take this medication and it's not the correct one, someone will be held responsible. huh. won't go back. read more

I went there a year ago and during a skin scan, I happened to mention I had a small bump on my toe. Sarah Felenz offered to remove the bump because such bumps, while minor, can sometimes rub. She removed the bump and left. The assistant put a bandaid on the site. Everyone left the room. When I stood to leave blood started to splotch the floor. I called for assistance and the assistant returned and put cotton and tape on the wound. Then they sent me off with instructions to use polysporin, which I did. I went home and used a mirror to see the wound. There was a very deep hole. I thought I saw bone at the bottom of it. In a few days, I had considerable redness and soreness, and I went to an emergency clinic. The doctor appeared shocked that so little was done for such a deep wound. She said she was glad I came in during the early stage of infection because I could've lost my toe. I went on antibiotics. I returned to town and Assoc. in Dermatology. Did not see Sarah Felenz. A very young assistant said she didn't think it looked bad. A blond woman with an accent came in and said something about sweat getting into it. They gave me a stronger ointment than Polysporin. When I went to my regular doctor she said it should've been stitched. I limped for two months during summer trips to Washington and Scotland. I got used to walking with my toes extended since the cut was at the joint. Finally, the pain went away and I could walk normally, but a year later I have numbness in that toe that I believe will be permanent. I would NEVER go back to that office. read more

I'm a pale skinned Floridian, so I take new spots and moles seriously. When a new one popped up, I looked for a dermatologist in the area. Associates in Dermatology were the only ones who could give me an appointment this month, which should have been a red flag to me. My appointment was at 10:30. I was instructed to come early to fill out paperwork, so I arrived at 10:15. At 11:30, I still hadn't been seen. People came in after me --and had appointments after me (I know because I saw the signing sheet) -- and were seen before I was. I finally went up to the receptionist and told her I had to leave because I had to get to work, and she just sort of shrugged and sent me on my way. No apology, no explanation. Nothing. I'm really annoyed that this place has such little regard for their patients' time, and that I spent $60 on a copay and never even got to see a doctor. read more

I went to the Associates in Dermatology office in Dr. Phillips to have an itty bitty teeeeeeny tiny pore of a potential mole checked out. Now, it's super small, but I'm a Floridian and I know way too many people who have had skin cancer. So when this appeared and - 5 months later - still hasn't disappeared, I scheduled an appointment here because they took my insurance. The staff on the phone was phenomenal. Absolutely wonderful. Friendly, warm, focused. I felt like I was going to get my fears addressed or get a plan for whatever this could be. The front office staff was nice. The assistants were okay... not friendly, very flat and matter-of-fact... told them my concerns and waited for the RN... The RN here made me feel absolutely ridiculous for being there. I get it, my issue is probably minute compared to what she sees on a daily basis. But dude if this is anything I want to catch it early. She basically said I just have to wait for it to get bigger before she could do anything and to just come back some time in the future. Maybe my expectations were too high but I was hoping to speak to experts in skin care, someone who would take me seriously, a place where I could turn if this turned out to worth worrying about. Some place I could put my trust in. Instead I got 5 minutes of an RN's time, two techs looking at me super awkwardly in a room, and a $90 bill despite insurance covering a little bit of the time. Just... awful. I'm going to give another location a try since my insurance does cover them and their website says they address my specific concerns. The front office is terrific and friendly. Once in the room, my very young tech was efficient and pleasant. Then Dr. Wallace came in. I know that's who it was because his staff referred to him by name. He never introduced himself, didn't shake my hand, offered no small talk and never even asked if I had any questions about an impending procedure (having a cyst cut out). Didn't mention stitches or how many, didn't mention after-care, didn't ask how I was doing during the cutting. I can't help he looked at me as much as another quick cash pop as a patient. His assistant entered and was pleasant, but when the time came for the procedure, another assistant had taken his place, again with no introduction or explanation. The procedure itself seemed to go well, but Dr. Wallace had left for the day (2:30 on a Friday) in the minute between finishing my procedure and the techs trying to find him so he could sign some prescriptions. I hope the end result of the procedure is good. This would make the gruff, sterile, conveyor-belt experience almost worthwhile. Almost. read more

As a physician, I expect the same care I give my patients. For several years I had my skin care from another practitioner who, unfortunately, missed some critical areas. Upon referral to Mario at Associates in Dermatology, he immediately found those areas and it was determined they were precancerous. Melanoma. A deadly cancer that took my father. Make sure you have a full battery charge on your cell phone because you will either be texting, emailing, facebooking, playing games, or taking selfies for at least 45 minutes before being seen by a doctor. My multiple terrible experiences at this office prompted me to find another dermatologist. Front desk is rude and had to fill out the same paperwork at almost every appointment even when a couple weeks apart. Not to mention at least a 20 min wait at every appt. After getting 5 biopsies at one appt, I went back for a follow up. Olga (who I had never seen before) was the doctor that came to "explain" the next steps for full removal of pre cancerous moles. (Side note: Current doctor advised these were mild atypical moles and didnt necessarily need to be removed.) Not only could I not understand her as English is not her first language, she rushed through the explanation and left me feeling extremely unsure of my options. I left without anything removed as I felt that I couldn't make an educated informed decision that was the best for me. When I attempted to call and make the appointment to remove the moles, I was placed on hold for 14 minutes and then connected to a call center agent. She then proceeded to ask me for all my information. When I wasn't sure who exactly was supposed to be conducting this surgery, she said she would have to request my records from the Sand Lake office and call me back. ARE YOU SERIOUS. After never receiving a call back, I had to again call back and talk to a call center agent. (They told me they could not transfer me to an office directly.) and finally made an appt. Two weeks before my appt which I had already had for a month, it was cancelled by Olga because " she no longer takes appointments on Friday afternoons." I found another practice in Winter Park that far exceeds any experience I ever had at Associates in Dermatology. They just want your money. read more

Do NOT go to this Dermatologist for several reasons. 1) they will tell you that you have to get spots removed (more than just the initial scrape--actual surgery) due to being pre-cancerous. I looked up what they said I had and it was only precautionary. They kept harassing me to get it done and I wouldn't. Then my next checkup I asked them (different Dr) if it needed to be checked and they said there was nothing there at all! What?!? 2) I just went again and I did not have my physical insurance card with me. They have my insurance on file and even called and verified it but NO, they wouldn't see me! I am beside myself! The receptionist was very nice and I knew there was nothing she could do so I asked to talk to somebody. Explained my situation (I wasn't there for major surgery--just getting a planters wart removed) and she said if I didn't have my card, no service as that was their policy. Money grubbing practice! I was a patient in 2014 and had a very good experience. However, this time I cannot rate it low enough. I made an appointment a week ago, when I came in, I was made aware of a balance from 2014, after waiting 20 minutes in the waiting room. No time in over 3 years did I receive a monthly or even quarterly statement to know of these charges. When I spoke to the insurance specialist, she blamed my insurance company. They had paid in full 2 of my 3 visits in 2014. There was one that was unpaid. She could not give me a reason why. My issue with this is... why was I not made aware when making the appointment. Also, in a weeks time, no one verified my insurance for this appointment. And at no point did they accept responsibility for their lack of communication. Being a Physician myself, I would be out of business if I handled my patients this way. "Hello, welcome, you have a $1000 balance from 3 years ago, do you want to set up a payment plan?". "Oh, and we don't know your co-pay today or even of this visit is covered on your insurance." Unprofessional business practices! Their insurance specialist was rude, pushy and uniformed! Their billing department should be a little more proficient in sending statements. Extremely unorganized. I actually had to ask for a copy of my complete records to be sent so that I may handle this. If you had not heard from a Dr, would it be wrong to assume that the bills were paid? Is it my responsibility to make sure that they are doing their jobs and collecting payment? Well, in my practice, I do all of that and do not expect my patients to do anything other than arrive on time. It is my responsibility to make sure that insurance is verified beforehand, proper payment is taken at time of service. Dr Steppie was great, 3 years ago. Be careful of what you are told here when it comes to insurance covered services. They love to say that their services are covered on insurance and then after services are performed decide that they are not. It's considered "fraud". With ICD-10 coding and contracts between insurance carriers, they are fully aware of what they are doing. They love to hit the credit bureau when you dispute a charge too. My insurance carrier stated I should go to the State of Florida and place a complaint on the practitioner. I have referred many clients to this practice prior to it being sold. Ethics have gone out out the window, illicit business practices have settled in. Be aware!!! Fraud is being committed. read more

I had been given a steroid epidural in January and this was one of the side effects. The nurse was beyond rude. I even had egg patches in my nose. She looked me over and told me the only thing she saw was a blackhead on my back. I am not crazy my husband has gone through this entire journey with me. I went there I had to wait for 40 minutes to be seen wich is ok , I do expect this at any health provider office , I saw the nurse practicioner for 5 minutes , she literaly told me what I need to do and gave me the price for a cosmetic procedure . when she left the room I told the assistant I have one more question for her that I completely forgot , she told me she will bring me back but she needs the room , i went back to the waiting area , 30 minutes later they call me in back, the provider comes in telling me that she cannot answer any question because she closed my visit and sent it to the insurance already , and that I will have to wait to my follow up visit or schedule a new visit another day , I was like fine I can wait . 3 weeks I call to confirm my apt and make sure my cosmetic procedure is attached to my follow up visit wich the check out person guaranteed that they will do it same day , GUESS WHAT ???? nothing was scheduled and they told me I have to schedule a separate appointment for this and gave me a higher price than the one that I have it written LOL .when I told the lady speaking to me over the phone that I have the price for the procedure written she was embarrassed , long story short I told her to cancel my appointment and ill never go back to them. My daughter looks like her skin has been destroyed. The PA said she would zap some spots off her legs and arms to get rid of spots but now her legs and arms are not presentable after a full month. She can't wear short or shirts with short sleeves and looks very spotted with big red spots. After calling to see what she should do they told her she needs deeper surgery to make it look better. They should be ashamed of themselves because they did not warn her of anything. They also cut some places on her back and forehead. If you have two hours and hundreds of dollars to throw away than Associates in Dermatology is for you! Let's begin by asking how it is possible to be an hour behind with an 8:30AM appointment? Still don't have an answer yet I sat in the waiting room for an hour before entering the room where I waited an additional 30 minutes before expressing that I really needed to leave for work shortly. At this point they sent in a nurse to babysit me and ask several redundant question until the Doctor arrived nearly 90 minutes after my appointment time. Many times Doctors are worth the wait - this is not the case with Dr. Lisa Williams. I came in with several concerns and each was belittled more than the next. Examples; 1. I expressed how frustrated I was with the irritation I experienced after shaving, that I had tried all the sensitive creams and razors to which she replied "shave less." I told her that was not a very good option as I live in Florida and work in a professional environment - wearing either pants in 90 degree weather or several days of not shaving under a dress was not ideal. She just shrugged and moved on. 2. I inquired on minimizing my pores and blackheads and she basically calls me vain saying "not all of us need to look like the magazines." It sounded so condescending as if she was speaking to a 14 year old. 3. I informed her that my healthy skin was pealing and it was very concerning and had been going on for a while despite several efforts. She says "it's probably a bad reaction just keep replacing what you're using - make up, creams, face washes etc. in intervals until it stops" - many can probably imagine the number of variables that could cause a reaction, this would literally take years and so much money just experimenting. 4. Finally she did propose at least a solution to my breakouts which she decided was "worse for me than it actually was" as if that was something she could determine, and prescribed a topical cream from the same medicine family that I started the appointment saying has not been working. I realized quickly arguing was pointless and asked for my prescription to leave and she said she would not prescribe the cream she wanted but give me a small sample and then come back again for a full prescription. Overall; Associates in Dermatology operates with a complete lack of consideration for your time, money and concerns. This leaves plenty of time for their attitude and judgment. Run don't walk from this borderline scam operation. read more

After 4 months of treatment I have been asking Dr. Olga to authorize a refil for my son in order to continue with his treatment and just never happened. I called 5 times to heard the same answer"to wait for her response" and just never happened. Waited in line for more than 30 minutes and they never picked up the phone. It is so sad that a "Dr in dermatology" don't have 3 minutes of her time to call a pharmacy and authorize a cream that she prescribed. I would never recommend this group to anyone.
