These modern day hurricane windows are a work of intricate engineering. They are very sturdy and strong. Even so it requires great craftmanship on the part of the installation experts to get it done right. I could appreciate the precise engineering that this work entails, only after I observed it first hand. I am so glad that I had the folks from ASSURED STORM PROTECTION do my window installation. I was not meddlesome at all. I just welcomed them, and let them alone to get their work done unhindered by my presence. They did an amazing job (over two days, since I have a very large porch and had many large windows and one big door to instal). (I must also mention that the installation specialists were very meticulous about cleaning up after themselves, and made it a point to not leave a single strand of wood or any tool behind. Working with Greg Bono of Assured Storm Protection has been a truly wonderful experience. Greg came out to our place in Century Village and noted that because of a pipe at the back of our unit the accordion storm shutters we wanted could only be installed in the inside of our unit. Greg measured; their engineer came out and check-measured; and when the installers came out with the shutters (complete with added lexan clear blades) and they didn't fit all was not lost. The installers brought them back to the Assured Storm Protection factory, cut a little off the shutters and brought them back and installed them the same day. We were pleased with the workmanship and installation too. We learned subsequently, that we needed Hurricane Impact Windows at the front of our unit because the construction of our unit wouldn't support accordion shutters. In April of this year we made the decision to replace our heavy, cumbersome hurricane panels with permanent shutters. Although they were effective, they were time-consuming to put up and then remove. After carefully vetting several vendors, we reached the conclusion that our most cost-effective solution was Assured Storm Protection. At every step in the process, from initial sales contact to final installation we felt very comfortable that we made the right choice. Our sales rep was well-informed about the product, clearly explained the fabrication and installation process and was very responsive to any follow-up questions we had. The whole permitting process was essentially "hands-off" for us. I am taking a moment to tell how happy I am. From the moment I contacted them I have been well taken care of. I received communication prior to the install. I was provided all the documents needed for my HOA approval. The salesman answered all my questions and explained the product well. Even some extras I ended up seeing as valuable. The job cost was very execptable even with the extras. The shutters look and work awesome. I got everything I was promised they would be. The crew who installed were excellent. The work looks great, neat level, done with care to my house. I was impressed that they caulk sealed holes from old missing anchor plugs not covered by new frame. This was not expected and greatly showed professional workmanship. My walls where left in same condition ( flawless) when they completed. The walk through i was given all the time needed to learn how to open and close the shutters ( showed me useful tricks to make easy) and suggestion to push lock button stored open to make sure cavity does not get dirt or bugs on it. As a native and lifelong resident of Southeast Florida I have weathered every landfall hurricane since 1949. In high school and junior college, I worked in the family lumber yard and sold materials just as the hurricanes approached and then went home after dark to install our own shutters in the horizontal, eye stinging rain. Last year my dear wife decided to relieve me of the task of putting up storm shutters. I am glad I chose them as they met my expectations. Though the installation had to be rescheduled once due a delay in the manufacturing of the shutters, once the installation date was confirmed the installers showed up on time and did a very good job. They seemed well trained and cleaned around my house after the job was completed. The city inspector required a minor improvement to a couple of windows and Assured Storm Protection quickly fixed it to get the final approval from the city. Barbara from the main office was also very professional and helpful along the way. The only improvement I would make is to let the customer decide between straps and clips to hold the shutters in place or why not offer both as it is not an expensive item. I decided to get accordion shutters (supernova) after having spent a significant amount of money on prior occasions to get someone to board up the storm panels on the second floor for my house in Miramar FL. I reached out to Assured and Ron their sales person was very professional and provided all of the details. Then there was another individual who came in to take the measurements and then they ordered the manufacture of the accordion shutters and an impact window for the bathroom. They scheduled the installation and were prompt to have both the impact window and the accordion shutters installed on the same day. The inspection did take a long time. However, this was probably due to the delay on the part of the city due to the Covid situation. Overall, I think it is a good value for the money and even though the shutters have not yet gone through a hurricane, I am confident that they can withstand it. We contracted with Assured Storm Protection to install CGI Impact windows and Supernova accordion shutters on our screen porch to get really good hurricane protection. We selected Assured from several quotes. Theirs was not the lowest, but the quality of the quote and their ability to listen to us and understand our needs was superior to all the others. The materials the company provided were complete enough that our condo association approved the application without question or clarification. The installation was excellent and well-managed. One of the window panes was damaged in transit and the installer called the office from our home to arrange for its replacement. my wife and i were interested in getting impact windows and we decided to go to assured storm protection. Through trial and error we did extensive research on a particular company to choose and to my surprise, assured has exceeded my expectations. The customer service was impeccable. The profound amount of knowledge they had made the entire process smooth. The installers were amazing along with the management and engineering. During the installation the installers noticed an imperfection in the glass and called the manufacture right away about this issue. Almost instantly a representative from assured called me to "assure" me the issue will be resolved within 6 weeks. They even handed me a $2500 check with my name on it to hold until the final window was installed. 4 weeks later the window came and the job is completed. I was very happy about working with this company from the beginning: I met the company owner, office manager and other team members who answer all my questions, followed up by emails from the company explaining the process. I am a Florida State Certified General Contractor. These people are upfront and service oriented. I bought 50 lineal feet of 8' high storm shutters for my business 6 years ago. They are holding up fine under DAILY use, and if I do need service, they are prompt and reasonable. They have worked on my residence, and I do refer them to everyone. Regarding all the people with the complaints I read: Production: they simply do not understand the demand for construction product that delays fabrication. Try to find glass today, let alone after a storm. Quotes: with the information on homes and buildings available on the internet, a non-binding quote can be issued. They are human, mistakes in paper work do happen. Good communication on what is required is essential. Delays: welcome to construction. Bad behavior: doubtful.
