Whoever called to confirm my appointment told me the correct information about my copay, but when I showed up for the appointment, the front desk had my insurance information wrong and claimed they had no idea who called and told me the copay amount I was originally told. I knew the payment information they now had didn't look right, but when I asked them to call my provider and double check the info, they didn't call and insisted they were right. I called my provider on my own, and sure enough, the original copay info I was provided over the phone was right. It was frustrating that such a simple fix could've resolved the issue much quicker if they'd simply made a quick phone call. Also, during my appointment, Dr. Baxter be appeared to be using some sort of AI program that was recording or possibly just transcribing everything said during my appointment. I've never been to a doctor that's done that before, and I strongly believe a doctor should ask first before recording an appointment, which Dr. Baxter did not. He also was diagnosed with Candida, he was treated and tested negative for it but is kept on isolation protocol in which he can't enter the building without being gowned up and kept away from everyone. I am not allowed as caregiver (or anyone else) to attend him on visits. He must wait outside in the weather until he can be gowned up. Therefore, our only access is phone calls. Is it protocol for his meds to be discontinued without consulting him and preparing him ahead of time and not offering a lesser medication. His pain narcotics have all been discontinued with no pain replacement. Is it protocol to call in for a refill and not receive a call back even if it is to say the medication has been discontinued? Is it protocol to not have a patient advocate that we know of? Is it protocol to not be able to get a refill for Prednisone which is a required supplement to be taken with his Abariterone for testosterone inhibition?

He SUPER down to earth and does a thorough physical exam. I have been suffering from thyroid symptoms for about 4 years. Been to several doctors and none of them could help me. My symptoms got to a point where I thought I was dying. Was having heart palpitations, EXTREME hair loss, excessive fatigue, random sore spots and bruises on my body, vision issues, rapid weight gain, anxiety off the charts (couldn't get more than 4 hours of sleep to save my life)- you name it. None of the prior doctors could tell me what was happening. And after a while, I believe that they started to disregard my complaints- EVEN after I did my research and TOLD them what I thought was going on. Dr. Launius LISTENED to me- and for the first time in years I didn't feel like the doctor thought I was crazy. After he completed the physical exam- he pretty much assured me the help that I needed. He also said that he would get my hair to stop falling out (as it was falling out by the handfuls- and was so bad, that for a moment, I actually thought that I might have had cancer). I know- an ignorant thought, but paired with the way that I was feeling in addition to the hair loss- that is the mindset that I was in. THE NEXT DAY... his team called me with the results. Sure enough, my levels were low. I got the prescription and was felling better by the end of the first month. Dropped 10 pounds almost immediately. I'm currently in month two- and guess what? For the first time in 4 years, I was able to comb out and wash my hair without any of it coming out. I'm ecstatic! I know hair seems like a small vain thing to most people, but when you start to lose it, it really messes with your confidence. My hair is pretty thin now, and is way shorter than it was 4 years ago- but at least I can now see light at the end of the tunnel. I'm excited for progress and my new hair journey. To top it all off, I feel great. I've never appreciated my health more than I do now. I'm so thankful to have run across Dr. Lanius- a REAL health professional.
