This place has been a highlight of my Sedona/Lake Montezuma adventure. All I can say is: WOW! Some highlights: Food: really delicious and flavorful, in addition to well-cooked. There's free bread and pesto and I could just eat this alone as a standalone meal: bread is made in house and fresh, soft and pillowy. Pesto is bright, fresh, and savory. When you order a dinner entree, it comes with salad too! Service: they were a little busy but very kind and friendly - almost like eating at someone's house. Ambiance: has an Eastern European decor and vibe - a little on the fancier side. I can see this being a nice date night activity. Highly recommend and would come again!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Every time is a unique fun experience at this beautiful Bistro.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The chef comes from a serving Russian royalty & the Russian owner is always personable & kind. I love the beet salad with salmon, Beef Braciola, Borscht, & most of their specials. The deserts are absolutely luxurious & each dish is visually appealing as well as delicious. I highly recommend the friendly service & personal experience I have received at this superb Bistro. [[HIGHLIGHT]]German music night was an amazing experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stopped in on a way to Sedona for Thanksgiving weekend. Born and raised in Eastern EU had to try this place and I was not disappointed! Svetlana was an amazing hostess, the pierogies are the best I ever had (especially those with sauerkraut and bacon). The chicken pate appetizer was good and the presentation lovely! The Borscht was fantastic! If you are in the area you have to stop by here, beats most places in Sedona at third of the price!

Chicken Picatta & Linguine, lots of delicious broth.

We were greeted in such friendly nature. Any questions were answered. The bread and salad are fresh and delicious. Chicken Schnitzel and Picatta were both seasoned perfectly, so tender, and all sauces and sides were equally delicious. The cocktails were well prepared, and so was desert. Our most delicious meal in 20 days as we have dined from California to Arizona! Our compliments to the Chefs!!

Excellent food and service. This is a gem in Camp Verde. A bit upscale but well worth it.

Ask the Community - Astoria International Bistro

I don't see stuffed cabbages on your online menu. Do you still have them? Today is Feb 6, 2025. Thank you!!

Yes, Kohl roulade.

Do they have gluten free options?

Yes! My husband has celiac and had no problem. He had the borscht and a lamb shank. There were other options too. The waiter and the owner were both very accommodating.

Do you have beer and wine? What is corkage fee?

Yes, full bar.

After reviewing the menu, we decided to get the Balkan kebab aka cevapi & chicken skewers, aka souvlaki. The kebab is a beef skinless sausage. The food arrived on metal trays with wax paper to protect the meal. There were small containers of onions, tzatziki & roasted pepper spread. We returned the onions. The meals were pretty good. The chicken was a tad dry yet still good flavoring. Loved the large pita bread it came with. The tzatziki and spread help moisten the chicken. The kebab was very plain tasting even though it was moist. Some spices and the spread would have helped. The bread that came with it looked homemade. It looked similar to a hamburger bun only fluffy and tasty. There is a small bakery up front and a tiny market in the rear. 4 stars for the chicken meal 3.5 stars for the beef kebab 5 for staff & cleanliness Shared parking.

I really appreciated the conversation and to learn from each of you a bit of your background and what makes this place so special. Chef Michael, I love the conversation about your background and your love for Food and the many countries you lived in and how you met your beautiful wife Clarissa. Chef Dan, I loved our conversation about your love for Food and your love for motorcycles. Boy did we talk about that a lot? I started with a bowl of the cream of mushroom soup, but I found out it tasted so good that I ordered another. I went onto your delicious shrimp and lobster rolls, potstickers and the sesame bean balls. Everything was fabulous. Made to order. Honestly they have so many things on the menu that I enjoy but haven't really found a good place that makes most of it. I'm so excited to try the Saturday morning brunch from 10 to 2, the special dinners on Friday and Saturday nights and if I could be so lucky to invited to one of your A-list dinners that would absolutely wrap my world. Your place is small, cute, an adorable balcony upstairs. I love your special thoughts you put into your restaurants. The cards at the table to talk about the chefs, a prayer note at the table. My meal ended up with a beautifully, little wrapped scripture. It all was so special for me. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Can't speak for the rest of the menu, but please skip the Pad Thai.....

The menu features enough sausage options to think there was a factory out back. There were over 10 varieties to choose from, and after a brief existential crisis, I settled on the two sausages with sauerkraut. They were so good I immediately regretted not ordering a few more links. That's the missing link in my decision-making process. Then came the potato and cheddar pierogies. Naturally, I smothered them in bacon, sautéed onions, and sour cream because moderation is for people eating salads. Each bite tasted like a warm hug from someone's Ukrainian (grandma) who also wanted to make sure you never skipped a meal again. Just when I thought my arteries had filed for divorce, dessert arrived: a cottage cheese crepe with berry sauce that was somehow light, rich, sweet, and ridiculously good all at once. This isn't a place that wastes time trying to impress you with Edison bulbs, reclaimed wood, or a menu that describes water as "locally sourced." They let the food do the talking, and the food basically says, "Sit down, you're too skinny."

We got these fried dumpling things that were good but desperately needed a dipping sauce. The dessert was their like specialty cake. It was frozen and the food dye icing ruined it badly. Staff seemed irritated we asked for a food to be cooked in olive oil or butter. So we just said cook it how you normally do. 2 people, soup, mains, dessert $55. Wasn't close to enough food. Unique but overall a disappointing experience
