    Roasted cauliflower
    Lynda A.

Disclaimer: Rarely five stars, because there is always room for improvement. So, I met Marco, the Owner, on one of his last days as Sous Chef at Up The Creek in Cornville. We were discussing good Italian food in Cottonwood, which is few and far between. He said he was leaving UTC to open his own spot. We chatted about his menu and I diligently watched the reviews on Nextdoor and gave some time before I came in. Well that time came! I went on a Wednesday around 12:30 and was greeted by Marco's daughter. She asked if I had a reservation, which I did not, but other reviews mention it can get busy at night, so reservations are encouraged. I was seated and greeted and brought water. The space itself is smaller but open and airy. There are 5-6 booths and a few tables for service, as well as a bar and a raw bar with seating. The menu is compact but the options are all enticing. Portions are good sized so everything is shareable I'd say. They serve beer and wine only I think, but don't quote me on that. I wanted to try a few things and bring it was a hot day, I opted for apps and salad. The roasted cauliflower was beyond. Sliced cauliflower patties with olive oil, sun dried tomatoes, olives, garlic and a balsamic. It was too the moon. Of course I had leftovers and ate it cold later that night and honestly it was even better. The garlic confit bread was good. Healthy portion of lovely Italian bread that's grilled with garlic confit, oil and baked Parmesan. Personally...I would have liked to see maybe goat cheese or another soft cheese versus the Parmesan, but it was still full of flavor. Again, tasted stellar when I ate it later! I also ordered the Caesar salad, which comes with anchovies (I opt out). The dressing has a lovely lemony finish and great tanginess. I did request a side of it! Again, made two meals. Marco and his family run this place and are fabulous. You can tell they love what they're doing. Marco and I chatted during my lunch; he greeted every table that was there. His wife Faith is lovely. When she offers you dessert, make sure you accept. I saved room for dessert, of which there isn't a menu! Must ask your server! I had the tiramisu ... OMG!!!!! Do NOT sleep on this, you'll be sorry. It was light and beyond decadent. The espresso and the filling and OMG...it's homemade and you can just taste the love. I ate the entire piece...lol Marco makes a lot in house...I hear the meatballs are bomb so next time. What isn't made in house is ordered from Italy and is top grade. I strongly recommend you come try them out. Check the hours and be prepared for some really lovely elevated home style Italian in the Verde Valley.

In my opinion, The Clinkscale has the best breakfast tacos I have ever tasted. Everything tastes fresh, and I like their coffee, too. Their other menu items look great as well, so I will have to try another food item the next time I am in Jerome. I like how the atmosphere makes you feel like you are taking a trip back in time, as the building has been around for a while. The best part about The Clinkscale, however, is the service. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and more than happy to offer suggestions. I remember when my family and I went up there a few years back, and our server, Jeff, made us feel right at home. The other staff members are also great, as they make everyone feel welcome within the establishment. I have been back there a couple of times since then, and I have had a wonderful experience each time. Next time I am in Jerome, I look forward to visiting again and encourage anyone in the area to stop by and check it out.

Disclaimer: few 5 stars...always room for improvement…read more.. So I've lived in VV coming on 4 years and have read numerous reviews on all the restaurants at in the area. I knew this to be a breakfast place, of which there are many, but someone mentioned on another board about where to get Greek food and Georgie's came up again. Greek/Med is few and far between and a really good place just closed in PV. That said, I went in today. Specifically for the Greek menu. Gotta say. It was really good and will satisfy your gyro need. I ordered the spanakopita and a beef gyro. I expected phyllo triangles but was met with a mountainous portion baked amazingly. My first thought was please don't be cold...it wasn't. It was nicely warmed and so full of feta and spinach it was ridiculous. While the phyllo topping came off, it was rich and buttery and flaky and messy. This was enough for 2-4 people. Presentation was blah but taste is what mattered. The beef gyro came in a nice hearty pita that stayed together. The meat portion was generous. There was a bit more lettuce than I'd prefer but it was fresh. I'd opt for additional red onion next time and the cucumber sauce was creamy and just really good. No overpowering flavors. I wish they had tabouli and hummus and I'd eat there daily, lol! Service was lovely, clearly so many regulars. Servers are wonderful and friendly. Decor needs updating but you're not going for ambiance, you're going for good, down home food. I will be back!

We were greeted by Sandy and she was quite hospitable. We were seated in her section and ordered. My friend ordered the number one of the combo meals. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon. The food came out hot and in large portion. The food tasted fantastic as well. The ambiance is that of an old diner. I'm not looking for fancy decor I'm looking for good food and I found just that! Sedona tourists, like myself check out Cottonwood for reasonable and fair diner prices! 10-15 minute drive. Hi Sandy from Ami, from Julie in MI :-).

The owners, Suzanne & Randy, have created a special dining experience in the heart of Verde Valley Wine Country. This hidden gem offers an eclectic menu that truly sets it apart from anything else in the area. To steal my wife's description, "Manzanita Restaurant is a culinary oasis in the middle of nowhere, where flavors collide, and memories are made." SERVICE: The staff is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's obvious that they take pride in ensuring a memorable dining experience. We couldn't have felt more welcome or had better dining experiences on both visits. WINE: Manzanita has a decent selection of wines by the glass and bottle. It's not the largest, but there's something to pair with all dishes. Both times we had a fantastic bottle of Zinfandel from Geyserville, CA, which paired great with our meat entrées. The bottle price is very reasonable, as we used to be members of that winery and know what they charge. FOOD: Outstanding gourmet game specialties and German delights. We've tried several soups, sides, and main dishes and have enjoyed them all. Soups of the Day have ranged from Pumpkin Purée, Ostrich, to Manhattan Clam Chowder. Salads can be added as a side or as an entrée, including adding Chicken Breast or Grilled Salmon. We've also tried a couple appetizers like the Edamame & Roasted Brussel Sprouts In a ginger soy glaze with sesame seeds, and the French Escargot served in mushroom caps with garlic herb sauce. Main entrées we've tried include an Orange Roughy Special with red cabbage, a Manzanita Salad with Chicken Breast, Fried Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Bison Tenderloin with vegetable medley, Venison Medallions Special with a creamy mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes, Antelope Steak Special, and a Prime Rib Special. There's nothing I wouldn't hesitate to order again. I'm half German and love German cuisine, but amazingly I've yet to try anything from that part of the menu. They have a couple pasta dishes as well. The restaurant is not overly fancy or extremely modern, but it's slightly upscale, comfortable, and the food and service are both stellar. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a unique dining experience, this family restaurant won't disappoint. We can't wait for our next visit!

My husband loves chicken Marsala and their marsala was up to his standards. He ordered it over pasta and loved it all. I have only the best compliments for this establishment and staff. It is well worth the trip to go there and enjoy!

We were a little confused We ordered a few things, Garden salad - the portion was big but the vinaigrette dressing didn't taste like anything. I wish we got a different salad since it just tasted like plain wet salad (4/10) Pesto Pizza - very good pesto flavor and I really enjoyed their pizza dough. I wish we added some type of meat ontop because it felt like it was missing something. I'd probably get it again and ask to do that (6.5/10) or a (8/10) when I added the chicken Chicken piccata - this dish was good, chicken was a little dry.
