An order at the counter place, though the person at the counter was plenty nice. I ordered the cabbage rolls with pork and they had a lovely texture but were a little plain. My partner ordered the chicken kiev and enjoyed it quite a bit. They came with these very dill-heavy potatoes, which were also fun! Not my favorite Eastern European place, but I can't speak to the authenticity.

I love the straightforward name of this place: it's a quiescent spot that specializes in soup and sausage. I do find it odd that their website tells you can order pierogi by itself but their onsite physical menu doesn't even have that. I decided to try their namesake: a soup and two different sausages. I really loved their calming background piano music. The soup was quite nice and tasty. I only really liked the Polish sausage and wasn't a fan of the linguisa. Service was straightforward and friendly.

Another foodie adventure. Highly unlikely I'll ever travel to the country of Ukraine, but fortunately, this restaurant specializes in this cuisine! Small but busy restaurant with delicious food! So many options too! Easy to just order at the counter and then find a table. Staff was amazing and shout out to Nastasia who served us. Decided on Hunter's stew, cabbage rolls and sweet crepes. My crew ordered a variety of other choices: pierogies, smoked sausage, honey cake, sauerkraut, caramel nuts. Happy reviews all around. The food came out after a short wait and it was all so good! The star of the show for me were the cabbage rolls for sure. Give this place a try. I'm sure that something on the menu will satisfy your taste buds!

I love this place! When I'm town again for a conference I dragged my family here and they did not retreat it! (I already knew I would love it again.) The food is stellar and they have so many choices which are all amazing. And fresh and tasty! My favorite Amos borscht and pierogies, but I could easily eat one of everything from the menu if give enough time. We weren't staying close but I managed to finagle two trips (an hour away from us) and loved every bite. This spot is amazing and if you haven't tried it yet you are missing out. Go there immediately! Yum.

Excellent food and service. True homemade Eastern European cuisine. Had fried pirogies that were filled with sauerkraut and mushrooms and topped with bacon. Very delicious and reminded me of the pirogies my grandmother used to make. The mushroom soup was very fresh, flavorful and delicious. Prices are reasonable. Will be back soon.

For those familiar with Kevin Binkley's former projects, there are hints of what we used to experience at his restaurants but this takes it over the top. The evening was full of surprises, culinary theater and the gorgeous view makes it unforgettable. We used to eat at Christopher's at the Biltmore and it was wonderful to see this playful and stylish iteration. The food was phenomenal, interesting, well-excuted and so very enjoyable. There were a few service hiccups. We were served the same course twice (which was promptly removed when we notified our server). There was a significant gap between two of the courses (maybe 20 minutes or so) and it felt odd. The kitchen knew that I am pescetarian and they beautifully accommodated me except when a plate of lamb appeared in front of me (it was quickly rectified). This is definitely a special occasion meal and if you're looking for something unique and delicious, this is it.

Everything about the evening felt intentional, from the pacing of the meal to the service to the incredible sunset views overlooking the city. The space itself is stunning, with sleek glass walls, an open kitchen, and a retractable roof that makes the whole experience feel immersive without being over the top. You can tell Chef Christopher Gross has mastered the art of fine dining while still keeping it approachable. The staff struck that perfect balance too..polished and attentive without ever feeling stiff or overly formal. This is definitely a special occasion restaurant, but honestly, the atmosphere alone makes it worth experiencing at least once. Between the views, the wine program, and the attention to detail throughout the night, it feels like one of the few places in Phoenix that delivers a true dining experience instead of just a good meal. If you go, book around sunset.

It's by far the closest thing we've found to "kebabs" in Arizona. They have chicken and lamb options for the shawarma. Their food portions are enormous, but my husband's greedy and eats the whole thing so I have to order my own. Can't complain with the amount of leftovers I have and it's still delicious when I heat it up. The owner and all the staff we've interacted with are lovely. Service is fast and the food is always top notch! Can't say enough about this place. Try the chicken wrap or chicken shawarma plate. Both are delicious. Ask for spicy to get on of their amazing sauces! There's plenty to choose from!

I came to Shawarmania in Glendale because of the excellent reviews and photos online, but my…read moreexperience was extremely disappointing. The food I received looked nothing like the pictures being advertised. Instead of fresh, juicy shawarma sliced from the spit, most of the meat appeared to be burnt scraps and overcooked pieces. The chicken and lamb were extremely dry, lacked flavor, and tasted like they had been sitting for a long time rather than being freshly carved. Moreover, the portions were extremely small for the price we paid. The fries were ok- the fries they came with the wrap seemed freshly fried while the fries on the plate weren't crispy at all. The vegetables seem fresh but just fell off the fork as you tried to pick it up. For the price of $23 for the plate, it was an extremely underwhelming and disappointing plate of food. As for the wrap, it was just as bad. As you go to pick it up, everything from the meat and lettuce just fell out because they were chopped so small. For a restaurant that markets itself as serving authentic, high-quality shawarma, this was far below expectations. I understand that photos can sometimes differ from reality, but the difference here was significant. Based on the reviews, I expected fresh, flavorful shawarma. What I got was a tray of dry meat scraps with very little resemblance to the advertised product. After eating at more than a dozen different restaurants in the past year that serves shawarma and kabobs, this was the most disappointing one. I hope management takes a closer look at food quality and consistency because this experience did not live up to the reputation reflected in the reviews.

It's hard to put into words how great this place is. Have you ever been somewhere when everything…read morejust feels "right, balanced, happy"? That is Farish House. The cozy, intimate comfort of what used to be Coup des Tartes blended seamlessly with the deep, peaceful, gentle "love" you felt from House of Tricks into one calm, warm, easy spot. Farish House is a real, soul-warming experience across the board. The service, care, comfort, ambience, food, value and clear love they put into everything make Farish House our new favorite place. We walked through the front gate, up onto the front porch and inside where we took one of three small tables in the cozy front salon of this soul-warming 1899 French Bistro. *Food: we started with a bottle of Australian Cab. Shockingly good. And not crazy expensive, especially on Thursday when bottles are 30% off, it was an amazing deal. Turns out, the owner, Greg, was in the wine distribution business for several decades, curating wine programs for top Valley restaurants, so he really knows his stuff and their vast wine selection is amazing. We were offered a basket of truffle popcorn, mmm, salty, crunchy, and rich. We ordered the Chef's Selection Charcuterie and Warm Noble Baguette & Marinated Olives to get started. Both were beautifully curated, balanced, and incredibly high quality. The flavors and textures blended perfectly. with cheeses broken from large wheels, rather than cut and sliced, house-made pickled grapes, unique and unusual ingredients, smokey meats, compound butters, just awesome! We then moved into one of the cozy dining rooms and ordered the slow roasted Peposo Short Ribs and fingerling potatoes pan fried in duck fat served with Moroccan spiced aioli. Both were rich, warm and delicious. For dessert, and yes we thought we'd explode from all this food, we ordered a massive slice of bread pudding, some of the best I've ever had, rich, gooey and incredible. Along with that we ordered a beautiful Espresso Martini and an off-menu banana cream martini. Their drinks are not "poured" or mixed here, they're balanced and expertly crafted. This is French Bistro comfort food at its finest and it's unmistakeable. *Service: it just doesn't get better. Everyone working there is "family". And that's how they make you feel; like family, cared for, wanted, welcomed. Service isn't a choreographed masterpiece, no tuxedos, cloths draped over arms, napkins frantically re-folded when you step away, dishes served and cleared in unison. No, it's relaxed, warm, friendly, kind, like being at your grandmothers house and knowing you're surrounded by people who care. Met Greg and Katherine, the owners, and their daughter Alexandra and several other "family" members taking care of us. Their appreciation for your presence is unmistakable. *Ambience: it's just plain comfy, cozy, easy, relaxed, warm, deep, gentle, worn (in a good way), wise, and calm, that's the best I can describe it. Hard wood floors, cozy rooms, soft, warm lighting. It's a non-pretentious, French bistro that feels like the home of a favorite grandma or great aunt living in a warm family cottage in the outskirts of Paris. *Value: it's perfect. It's not ridiculously expensive like Kai, Brinkley's, Cafe Monarch, Christopher's, or French Laundry where you go, "okay, that was fun but we'll only do this very occasionally/rarely and it's probably worth it, but dang that was pricey!" No, Farish House is 100% value to experience, not cheap, but not overpriced, the balance is just right. It's a place you can go often, and we will. Yes, our meal with apps, drinks and dessert, some on happy hour and the Thursday wine special, was around $200. I'd happily say this experience was worth every penny. *Overall: I can't recommend Farish House highly enough. Parking is on the street or in a nearby lot, and that's a downtown thing. There's a small lot in back. The food, ambience, service, quality, and experience were stellar. I wish I could rate them 6 stars instead of just 5. I'll return often and highly recommend Farish House to everyone. I genuinely hope you enjoy as much as we did!

Honestly, everything stood on its own without needing wine. The carrot dip, paired with a great selection of vegetables, was a refreshing way to start. As someone who loves sweet potatoes, the sweet potato with green harissa is a must-order. We'd never had chips with serrano ham before, but they were surprisingly addictive and disappeared fast. The highlights of the meal were the duck breast and the pissaladière (puff pastry with anchovies). The duck was tender and flavorful, and the pissaladière was a standout. Who knew anchovies on pastry could be that good? We ended with the ricotta cake with poached pears, which was light and not overly sweet. It reminded me more of European or Asian cheesecake than the dense, sugary American style. The ambiance is chic and thoughtful, with great use of color. Loved the details, from the tiles to the furniture to the typography. Service was excellent, and it felt like the founding team was actively running the place. The menu changes seasonally, which gives us a good reason to come back!
