I've been a customer of wave for almost 6 years everything is been good but not any more, Im having problems with my landline for the past 3 days I do use this landline for business and all they do is send techs out to the house to tell me they can't fix the problem that they have to escalate to a professional today my bad experience with them as well was that this person that works at the store I ask him for the account number information even though I am authorize to ask for all of those questions since my wife is in the contract person name Mac wass rude and not helpful at all I need it that number right away to switch to another provider but he could not give it to me at all. Absolutely no complaints about Astound. I was being charged $86 a month for internet alone, over at Comcast. For $30, I get the exact same service and the ability to work with a local company. I actually heard about Astound while listening to 90.5 The Edge, the most awesome radio station in Diablo Valley. My service is just as fast as Comcast and I know I am dealing local. It used to be astound and it was great. I always had the internet and it's ok but cuts out a lot which is not good because I host webinars. But one day I talked to an Astound salesman who lied to me about the cost. When I got the bill it was $85 more than quoted. I fortunately confirmed by text with the salesman on price. I advised them of this and they didn't care. I wrote to the FTC and they made it happen but only good 1 year. Well, the tv sucks. It's always going out and have to reboot. I have probably had service guys out at least 4 or more times for repair. I have 250 mbs and my tv still buffers. I could go on. I actually subscribe to directvnow as backup. We ordered Wave internet service and install was set up for February 22. The installer needed to move a potted plant on a stand, and my mother asked him to hold on while she gets a cardboard so it can be moved gently. The installer ignored her and proceeded to move the planter and left deep scratches on newly refinished hardwood floor. Also, he left the telcom box outside opened with cables hanging out. Absolutely furious! I was so excited to get Astound. Spoke with the staff who seemed to be very knowledgeable and helpful. Set everything up to get cable this last Saturday in Martinez. The technician shows up and says he just needs to check outside and he will be right back to setup service. 2 seconds later he returns to tell me sorry Astound did not make the drop that they were scheduled to make earlier in the week and that we will have to reschedule. He gets on his phone to talk to dispatch and confirms that they did not do the drop for his next customer as well. What a waste of a day waiting around. So we reschedule for later in the week. I am assured that the drop will be done on Monday and that we will be receiving service on Wednesday. But something tells me to call them to make sure this "drop" has been done. I can tell something is wrong when the rep on their 800 number says that they have to email the local office and that someone will call me shortly. HOURS later I still have not received a call. So I have to call the technician and than the supervisor. The supervisor informs me that he was going to call me back in a few hours. Ummm ok. And tells me that sorry ASTOUND WILL NOT DO A DROP FOR ONE HOUSE...it is not worth it for them. I am nice during the course of our conversation but very upset. I say that I feel that I have gotten the run around and he disagrees. Tell me that scheduling service and all that I have dealt with is not the run around and no one knows answers. The supervisor than goes on to agree with me that I should probably go to another provider and that he does not know when and if I can ever receive service from them!!! Every year they would automatically double my rates without notifying me. I've called every year therefore to renegotiate, but then my rates go up without notice. Why not one continuous charge without change, from year to year. Sad to see they're like all the other internet providers, finding ways to charge customers more every year without being honest about what they charge up front. read more

These purple are terrible. I got it when it was astound broad band. At some point hey were bought or changed to wave and it went down hill from there. They bill for the month ahead which is okay i guess. Puerile shouldn't have to pay for something before they recieve it. PG&E doesn't charge you for electricity before you use it. They water company doesn't charge for water before they deliver it. You don't pay the gas bill before you've heated your house. This company does. When i called to cancel they still wanted me to pay for the month after i canceled. I asked, "don't you charge for the month ahead?" The man on the phone told me"no" which is false. I told him i needed the service until the end of the month since i was paid up to the end of the month. Then they cut my service off as soon as he hung up the phone before the end of the month 3 days ahead of schedule. He also said it would be $79.95 service charge to pick up the equipment. One of the reasons i canceled is because i have basic cable that came with my service for $24.99. They also charged taxes and local channel fees. A franchise fee, emergency fee, and every other fee they could think of. I ordered internet and local tv and my bill came to $184 plus change every month. This company is a total scam. When i called the automated phone answering i indicated i was canceling service it held me on call waiting for approx 20 minutes before i hung up. I called them back and indicated i was going to upgrade and they connected me with an operator immediately. I canceled through that person. Companies like this should be shut down by people not using their service anymore. read more

I find Wave Broadband to be the least expensive for the highest speeds. I also get their landlne service. Their visits to my home to fix any problems have for the most part been congenital and often they come earlier than expected. I've shopped around to find better deals and they simply do not exist. As long as my electricity is working, my services are uninterrupted by glitches. I provide my own router so there's no monthly router lend charge. And they are helpful in advising which modems one may use with system to purchase my own. The only thing is the phone modem which is supplied by them and can't be bought. If this changes I'll be happy to give them 5 stars. As far as I know the neighborhood WAVE store on Oak Grove Road near Peet's coffee is possibly closed since I could not find it where it formerly stood. read more

I've been ripped off by this company for 4 years because the condo complex made a exclusive deal with them. My rate for 250 Mb internet only with a 4+ year old modem is $100/ month!!! I received a new customer offer for twice the speed for $40 a month and Wave will not honor it. I've paid Wave over $5,000 in 4 years and they do nothing to keep my business. I have mixed reviews of Wave. I have been with them for over 12 years. Pros --Includes Starz with triple play (tv, internet, phone) --Fast internet speeds available --Stable service (Unlike others, I have had solid, stable service) Cons --VERY long hold times for support (can be hours) --Their "specials" expire each year, so you have to watch your bill and call back before the "regular" prices kick in (which can triple your bill) --Sales people don't know what they are talking about - Door to door person said they could save me money even though I am a current customer. He changed my service (with my permission) and my bill almost doubled. When I went to change it back, I was told my previous "promotion" wasn't available so now paying 25% more for the same service! --Internet speed is not what is advertised. I pay for 500 mbps and never get more than 325 mbps. (Yes, I know it is "up to" but even at times where there should be less users like 4 am, I am still only getting 325 max.) --They require you to rent a receiver (cable box) even if I am not using my TV to watch anything. (I don't even have it hooked up!) (I stream all channels through my Apple TV.) read more

Got a text the next day saying Someone was on the way to install service. I Called them, they told me I couldn't speak to a manager and that they would review the call when they had time! I have been having issues with Wave for a few months. Asked them to come out and they came out a week later and stated they fixed the issue of my not having enough service due to a faulty line. OK. A day later I am getting no internet in my house and called. They "checked the lines", and reset the router and assured me that all was fine. I went another two weeks with horrible service and then finally called to see what they could do. I explained that I was frustrated. The guy put me on hold to "work on the issue". After a half an hour the call was hung up. He had my info, phone number to call me back, address, all my info. He never called me back. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. I came to them since I was like hey, save some money, have TV and Internet. I was wrong. Wave doesn't care. At least if I go with another giant mega corp I will get the service. I no longer care if the big box doesn't care. At least at the end of the day I can get service that is paid for. With Wave I was paying $200 a month and for at least the last six months recieved 3 mps! I will bring my money elsewhere. read more

We have been clients of Wave for over a decade. I have watch, service, pathetic TV programming, HORRIBLE technical support. Wave used to be good now they are AWFUL!! STAY away. My mother was on the phone with a tech for 3 days, they were rude, did not fix the email problem, which is Astound email and they wouldn't send a tech out. We had to out source the problem and guess what, it is ASTOUND's problem. My 84 yo mother's email won't work, it is an Astound problem and Astound email and Wave won't help her with it. I have problems when I call, the problem doesn't get fixed and they want you to do back flips with the effing computer to get it fixed. They are so stupid. Where do they get these idiots??? We are so sick of Wave and are seriously thinking of making a change. I'm so angry with the lack of tech service and to get charged by another company to try to fix Wave's problem, which I want a refund from Wave for. They lied. Really pleased with the service I received at this location earlier last week from Lameisha. She was really great, and very efficient at her job. She was able to assist me in signing up for a service for my father during the time we came in to drop off our outdated equipment. She was very knowledgeable and even went out of her way to hand-write out all the information regarding difference in service costs as well as any bill adjustments available to us. She is a great asset to the company whom we intended to drop as our service provider and instead chose to renew service for our home telephone, which is being installed as I write this review (about one week from our in-store visit). For a long time, I thought they were great, but I recently made the mistake of "upgrading" to 1 gbps. TL;DR: They clearly can't deliver anything like that, but won't tell you. The first two techs that came out were nice. First guy said "hopefully a reset will work, call back if it doesn't". The second, a supervisor poked at it a while, said to call back if it didn't improve. But I never saw better the 550 mbps. I was busy, so arranged something more for New Years break. Third technician called before, said "if it is 500 mbps, there's nothing I can do". He said that was "normal". After a half hour on the phone, in which this was confirmed to be (obviously) wrong, the result was yet another appoint. At that point, I had them "downgrade" to 500 mbps. The upshot is that I am getting the same speed I was before. So the upshot: 1 gbps 0 stars, technicians 2 stars, customer service agents 5 stars. read more

Wave sent notice that we were going to need a digital box for each set. If we already have a digital box, there would be no change. Suddenly, many, many channels are gone. Very awkward time to try and deal with this. Will be looking to replace Wave TV service with one of the internet based live TV service providers. 12/28/18 update. Wave responded to my post with an invitation to contact them to see if something can be done. So I did. Their response was many of us were getting stations we were not paying for, and in the future we could loose additional stations. The most irritating thing about all of this is that when I signed up for the local package with their DVR box, I got a selection of channels. No charge over the years until now. read more

After being with AT&T for over a decade and fighting with them for over 4 months (never getting my issues resolved), I decided to try out WAVE because they just added service in my neighborhood. I've NEVER seen better customer service. I had a strange problem where my twice daily wi-fi would go out for 5 minutes. That's not a lot of time to resolve an intermittent issue. However, they worked on figuring it out for 2 months, and for the last few weeks of the issue they showed up every day to figure it out. They literally replaced everything within my house to no avail. It really seemed like it was coming from within my house, but then they replaced the new wiring to my house. Although 10 minutes a day wasn't a real problem (especially after having AT&T where I would have no internet for 2 weeks at a time), WAVE made sure I was getting the service I was paying for. Furthermore, even during the problem, the download and upload speeds are usually higher than I'm paying for. I'm on the 250 download speed plan, and typically it is 255-261, and my upload speed is supposed to be 10, and it's ALWAYS 11.4-11.6. With AT&T I was lucky to get half of what they promised. Thank you Jim (supervisor) and Jim (technician) for never giving up until the problem was resolved. You guys rock!!! read more

I needed to update my cable box's and had an appoint scheduled for this afternoon. Jose showed up right on time and even sent me a text message when he would be here. After I told him what was happening to the TVs freezing up while watching a show he took it upon himself to check all the cables outside. He replaced the cables and had to call a helper in because there was a lot of work to be done. They were here for hours and refused to leave until they made sure every cable box was working correctly and that I knew how to use the new system. If you need service done ask for Jose. I am so happy Verizon is offering internet service here now. twice the speed at almost half the price. I had been a customer of wave/astound since it was charter and service has gotten worse over time. Since astound took over the internet became unusable. Terrible for someone who works from home dropping vpn and voip every 28 seconds. Tech support non existent. Customer service thought my internet had been off for a week and couldnt offer any kind of time frame for repair. Then they tried to extort me 80 bucks for a service call! I was already tired of negotiating my rates yearly to get on a promo but that was the last straw. terrible company im glad there are finally better options in woodland. Greedy shoddy ISP dont deserve to be in town. Poor Brent having to deal with all these complaints. I will say their customer service team has been polite but Im afraid they dont have the tools or infrastructure to deal with the shoddy internet. Corporate problem is gonna ruin the business. Don't sign up with Wave, they suck! Wave is almost as bad as AT&T, no kidding. I have had nothing but headaches with Wave. Their customer service is horrible, very long wait times before you can talk to anyone, then their staff is unhelpful, condescending and has an attitude. What the F*** happened to the old "Astound"? Is Wave owned by AT&T? That would explain a lot. I'm switching to Xfinity. The Xfinity customer service has been very responsive, helpful and great. If you don't like AT&T, like me, Xfinity is now your one and only option after Wave went downhill.
