In the past week we have had a technician out twice to check why we can't receive certain channels suddenly. The last technician told us the cable running to our house wasn't up to specs, and promised we would have a repair between 8-12 am in two days, "since the service isn't working properly". My wife waited at home, and no one showed, called back again, now is scheduled for 4 days from now. These folks try, but they just can't seem to get it done. Update. Finally got a tech after 2 more came out that found the problem and fixed it. Shouldn't have been so confused but they kept trying until it got done so I have moved them up to 3 stars. read more

I've been using them for four years and I'm giving them one last chance. Service has been horribly inconsistent. When I contact customer support they just want to restart my router. When that doesn't work, they throw their hands up on the air and apologize for not being able to solve the issue. I have a technician coming out in about a week from this posting. If he can't fix the problems, I'm switching to AT&T. I never thought I'd actually consider AT&T as a better alternative, but I'm tired of paying over $100.00 a month for TERRIBLE service and I'm willing to give them a shot. If this fix doesn't work, after four years of excuses, I'm done. If you're looking for a new service, I'd recommend you start somewhere else. I had Grande Communications before Astound bought them out. So for over 10 years I had this service. 1 GB of download. Since Astound took them over, I had over 5 service calls telling them I had barely any service. It seemed I was on a party line, sharing my service with others on my street. I called Starlight Broadband, and the installer noticed one of my cables was in the wrong port. It fixed my problem. But ended up changing services anyway. I had made my payment early on July 1, 2025. It wasn't due until July 8, 2025. I cancelled July 2, 2025. They refuse to refund any monies stating I was paying for June 15, 2025 to July 15, 2025. Even though I would have been able to use their services until August 8, 2025. They said over and over, "Its our policy to never refund any monies"... They even told me they could see I wasn't connected any longer. What a rip off. read more

I got an email saying I was late with payment. Problem is, I didn't receive a bill. I called and spoke with a very flippant customer service rep and she told me I needed to keep up with when my bill is due. I think it's safe to say that in this day and age we all are coming and going trying to earn a living and the last thing on any of our minds is a late bill. The most UNRELIABLE internet provider ever. My internet goes down on a regular basis and they don't care. My internet regularly goes down from 8pm to midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. It is so regular that you can set your clock to it. They say it is an "outage" but when it happens the SAME time on the SAME days, it is very suspicious and makes it seem like they are throttling my internet. Other times the internet goes down, it is an "outage" and they blame it on high winds in my area. I live in West Texas and it is one of the flattest places on Earth with a known history of high winds. It has always been windy here and it always will be. Saying you are surprised it is windy here is like saying you didn't know there is snow in Antartica. Basically, the fact that there is high winds here is not a surprise and they should have prepared their equipment to handle such an environment before selling services in the area. Calling their tech support results in listening to an automated system that can't understand plain English. After repeating yourself three or four times, it will finally give you an option to press a number for something instead of saying it. When you finally think you are about to talk a real person, the system hangs up on you. I literally had to make 9 calls and it took over an hour before I was finally able to speak to a real person. When you finally get to speak to a real person, they keep apologizing but it is not sincere. Saying "I apologize" in that monotone voice makes realize that the person is just reading from a script on their computer monitor. On top of that they will not help you. Their solution for everything consist of three options: One, Wait until the "outage" is resolved. Two, reset your modem. Even if you have reset your modem before calling them (I usually try the modem reset three times before calling), they will still have you do it because in their eyes, it only works when you reset it while on the phone with them. And three, they will send a tech out the next day during the morning or afternoon. Which by the time the tech comes out the "outage" has already been resolved or they are not throttling the service anymore because it is not evening time that they normally do it. If you want fast, affordable, and reliable internet, go somewhere else because doing business with this company is going to be worst experience of your life. Their internet service is not dependable, their customer service is a joke, and their business practice is shady. I don't see how they are not bankrupt yet. Unless drastic changes are made to their business model, I don't expect them to be around five years from now. read more

Equipment, internet has no guarantee of speeds and cable tv equipment is so-so. Times are changing. Grande merged with someone else. No longer a Texas company and it shows! I've been a Grande customer for over 14 years now. I just opened my March bill & it's been doubled Yes, DOUBLE the price of February's. I called thinking I must have overlooked paying last month's bill. Nope, the customer service rep assured me that it was in fact correct. He explained that I had exhausted my coupons & discounts. WTH? $160 a month for mediocre (not basic) ISP. To deal with buffering and even occassional complete loss of picture. BTW I'm using their modem. Grande's customer service was once their shining star. When I asked the customer service manager should loyal customers have to beg for fair pricing his response was it's all about value. First I don't get the speeds that I'm paying for. Supposed to be 1 gig, and I'm lucky to get half that half the time. 2nd, any little rainstorm and my service goes out. I might as well get satellite internet if I wanted to lose service in the rain. Today is September 9th, 2019...little sprinkle outside and losing service...it will come on for a minute and lose service again. And takes forever just for this page to load. I mean c'mon. OK, so when I wrote the bad review, I was pretty mad at the idea that they had to charge my mom a little less that $400/ month for 16 years. I think she could have shopped around and done much better. It is, however, commercial service, and she had 3 lines plus internet, which is evidently much higher than residential. The review did get their attention and so they messaged and called me. About Grandecom, I can say that they did try to remedy the situation and even gave some credit back, towards her account. But be warned, you have to fight for every penny. (Same as the other providers, as far as that goes, right?) I guess they really do care about their reputation at least. read more

Absolute horrible service! Called to get internet set up, was told there's no deposit or any payment required and the tech would be here today (July 22) at 1-3pm to install it. 30 minutes before they were supposed to come install it, Tausha Day called me to tell me they cancelled my install because we hadn't paid the deposit. When I called her out on saying we didn't need to pay anything she turned around and basically called me a liar, and said that there must have been a "miscommunication". Now if we want it, we have to wait another week to even get installed plus we have to pay a deposit. Not only that but she ran my credit without my permission! I told her "DO NOT run my credit" and she still did so which is illegal. I took off of work today for this!Lying scammers! UPDATE: Tech finally came today Jul 25 and installed it. Well we paid for 1GB and we aren't even getting 1/2 of their smallest package and now we can't get them to come back and fix it 5 mins after the tech left. This company is a JOKE! read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I've had grande for about a year+ now. I switched because they don't have data caps. Well from what I've learned that's probably because that's the only way they'd get customers because their service is so garbage. I only use internet but when I first got their service I got cable for other people in the house. Everything worked great for about a month or two, then the problems started. Our cable wouldn't get any channels and our internet speeds were starting to drop at night. I was paying for 300mbps and I was lucky to get 150. Though that still should be enough for gaming (the whole reason we got grande) I still got constant lag or even disconnected from games completely. So after having techs come out 10+ times with no fix, we upgraded to the Gigabit system. The first day we could get 800mbps, for the next few weeks we got 400-600, and now a month later we get 30-150mbps.... they sent out a senior tech and they replaced everything they could and now it's even worse! My husband is working on Odessa. He is hearing impaired and fighting cancer. A lazy installer didn't bother to hook up all 3 TVs. Bcz he didn't call in while fighting cancer, try to get a TTYL operator on the line, and then patch him thru to a Grande TTYL operator. That's a good hour long trip before you even get to the root of the problem. Needless to say he has other things on his mind. When I called in I never asked CALVIN to give me any credits. Yet he starts lecturing me that I can't have any credits bcz my husband didn't call in! Well GUESS WHAT!?!? YOU ARE RIGHT... he didn't call in to gripe y'all out. Don't bother to even consider your tech didn't bother to turn on any TVs. Why don't you make your techs get initials that someone saw ALL OUTLETS working???? I was helping my mom with her cable. When you are elderly people will try to mess over you. I was told that Grande would be cheaper than her other cable. Wrong! They said her bill would be 59.99, add phone & taxes. Well she got her 1st bill it was 170.00 something $. Called & spoke with several people there, even spoke with supervisor and all she could say is that they charge for movie, entertainment and sports. This was never told to me and had it been we never would have gone w/Grande. This is a rip off. They make it sound like its a really good deal, don't be fooled. They have merged with AT&T and charging you for all these ridiculous charges. Be sure to ask what all you will be charged for because it not worth the time. I've had Grande for about a year and a half now, and when the internet is working, it's great! But after coming to my new apartment a year ago, the internet cuts in and out almost on a daily basis and I have to reconnect, or there is "an outage in my area". This happens at LEAST once a month. Unfortunately, I cannot get any other internet provider in my apartment so I'm stuck with Grande if I want internet! I'd love to give Grande 5 stars but there are way too many outages (that can last for 5+ hours) and inconsistent internet to even consider it. read more

The company offers the fastest speeds in my area. They do not have bandwidth limits and dont seem to monitor or shape my traffic. I have had issues with suddenlink shaping my traffic in the past. I am a gamer so I need a good solid connection. I have had issues with packet loss with grande. That is the reason for only 4 stars. But they try to fix it. For the avg user you cant go wrong with them. The only negative would be price. But suddenlink will up its price the longer you stay. Anyways not a bad ISP. read more

I pay for their "upgraded" high speed service. Again, don't fall for just! They have cost me so much money in lost revenue due constant internet issues. In approx a 9 month period, my internet has been down no less than 15 times. If you're hoping for helpful, knowledgeable, sympathetic support or customer service, forget about it! Their employees are insulting, rude and of no help whatsoever! Speaking to a supervisor? Easier to build a fence out of yarn! Sure, they'll send a technician. But not within a reasonable amount of time. And each one attempts to convince you that the problem is resolved. It won't be! When you call again a week later... The usual rude agents with the attitude that the lack of dependability is merely "inconvenient." Recently, during the peak of billing for my clients, no service. When I cashed called I was told that it wasn't wise to have a business dependent on internet and that I should consider a "real office job." Although I should appreciate career advice from this helpful representative, I was livid! I've been a grande customer for about a year now and since I've had my service moved to my new place it's been a nightmare. I've had issues with my Internet just dropping off the face of the earth every month for the last 6 months. However I do give Grande an A for effort, every time it happens and I call, they are always polite and able to get a tech out within the next day or so. My problem lies within the fact thcame at I've had 6 techs to my house and every time they fix the problem for about a month, if that. This last time I had a tech out here and he wasn't able to fix the problem, and just told me that it was a problem on their end and that it would be fix by the end of the day. I checked it out the next day and sure enough it was working great ...until that night. So I called again and got another tech out here the next day, and sure enough when he got here the Internet was working perfectly. then later that night it just stopped. and even as I type this on my phone I'm using my phone as hot spot for my computer. There is not a zero star option or I would have gone with that. I was a customer of Grande's since February of 2013. At first service was fine, but as time went on it got worse and worse, but prices went up and up. The last straw was the last Mayweather fight. I had ordered it but it was scrambled looking. Was on the phone with technicians the night of the fight for over and hour, and never got it, was told that I would not be charged. I switched service providers and called in to cancel on 9/2 (Saturday). I was told billing would not stop until all equipment was returned. I took equipment back to the Odessa location, and was told by the very rude lady that was having a dis-agreement with her boyfriend or whoever he was to just put them in the drop box. Got a bill dated 9/19 around the 25th. It was for over $800. that included the cost of the fight that I never received and rental of equipment I no longer had and billing for service in advance. I called immediately, and was told account was being corrected and a new invoice would be mailed out. A few days later, got a bill for over $1,100! I called back and was told it just crossed and I would receive a new bill. I received that final bill on 10/30/17, as well a debt collection letter stating that I was delinquent and owed $357. for Grande and a $71. for collection fee. I called Grande to ask why I was turned over to collections when I had been calling them for the last two months to get the final bill, not to mention, they charged me for the equipment through 9/23/17 or at least according to Ali is when it was returned. I was on the phone with Ali for no less then 30 minutes, I kept asking for a manager or supervisor and was told that one would have to call me back in the next 2 hours, but that they couldn't do anything for me either because I had already been turned over to collections because I was hard disconnected that a technician came to my house and that I had not paid!!!! He did apologize for telling me I had been hard disconnected..... As if that was going to make me feel better. Then when Kimberley the supervisor finally did call me back 1 1/2 later, she said that she could not take me out of collections because I was past due, account had been closed for non pay, and that she could not believe that the Odessa office would leave the equipment sitting in the drop box that long!!!! They should have notes where I called in every time just like I have my notes from when I called in. Now I don't know if Odessa office left the equipment sitting in the drop box that long, or they just did not check them in until the 23rd, but they were there since the 5th! I don't mind paying the final bill of $357., I owe that for the last month and the pro-rated amount through the next billing that I used, but being turned into collections, and having to deal with the collection agency and pay a collection fee, having that on my credit is ridiculous! Oh and I was told that I would have to go through the Odessa office to get the equipment ordeal corrected!!! They don't work for the same company? Why should I have to continue to be inconvenienced? read more
