Attended a 4 year olds birthday party here and had the BEST time. I'm still thinking about it a day later because it was such a blast. Bumper cars, jungle gym for small kids, lots of cars to ride on, bounce houses. Perfect spot to host a birthday party or any party with young kids. Both my 16 month old and 3.5 yo loved it. Great party room for the food part of the party and also had a private bathroom. Highly recommend for an event, especially ages 1 to 5, and possibly older, as the adults and older kids loved the bumper cars. read more

This place is fun if your child is 2-4 years old for a couple hours. It's mostly on large room with 5 themed rooms (princess, trains, ride-on vehicles(2) and kitchen. So I love this place!!!!!! The price..not so much, but my baby girl enjoyed it and I probably enjoyed it more then she did, so it was worth it! For kids under 1 year its $5 and over a year its $10 and adults are free. Make sure you bring a pair of socks, or you can buy a pair for $1 or they have the nylon trying on shoes type of socks for free. I came here with my girlfriend and my godson on a Wednesday afternoon and there were only a few kids there. This place is so cool to me! My godson is 3 years old and has a blast just playing with other kids, or by himself and going from theme room to theme room! They have huge fish tank, a sheriffs station, play room, library, etc. They have a nice seating area for parents to just hang out and talk. My favorite part..the baby area. I have to admit, I was a bit annoyed at first that I had to pay $5 for my 4 month old to just sit there and do nothing? Nope! They have a cute little section just for babies! They have a horse (that my daughter loved!!!) and stuffed animals, music toys, etc. Ok, do some of the toys not work? Yes lol...but compared to what my daughter has at home, this was kiddy heaven for her lol. Im sure if you asked them to replace batteries they would. We really had a blast here. There are several different areas for the kids to play so boredom is never a factor. There is a little snack area where you can have your own snacks or you can purchase snacks, there's a small sitting area in the middle, and there is a room for hosted birthday parties. The last time we went we were also give a frequent user punch card (after x visits the next is free). This is the ideal place for an afternoon out with the kids or the occasional play date. Kids Town was a big disappointment. I reviewed the photos online, and they must have other locations because I did not see half of those things in Wheaton. Most toys looked like discarded garage sale items; missing parts, no batteries, etc. My five year old granddaughter walked in and out of each room trying to play/engage with the toys but was greatly underwhelmed. The concept is great, but far from implemented. I kept thinking it would be a great partnership for the College of DuPage Early Childhood Education major students to design true quality ECE experiences in this space. read more

My friend wanted to check out kids town today to let our kids play so we could catch up. I showed up with coffee and my snack (type 1 diabetic). I didn't have socks, so I happily purchased some. I was then told I couldn't take my coffee in the play room, but they made an exception and gave me a to-go cup (which was very nice.) However as I was sitting in the chair, I was interrupted and reminded not to spill on the floor. (I'm 34! Lol, but whatever.) My friend and I continue to chat as her son is playing on Thomas the train. We are again interrupted to be told her son "can't take that toy out of the train room." (What!??) We comply, and continue talking. Not even 3-4 min later we are interrupted again because her son has a toy in his hand, while standing next to the jungle gym. Our kids aren't brats. We make them follow the rules. This was ridiculous. At that point we get up and leave. This happened in a span of 10min. I understand they have rules which we were happy to follow. However their rigidness is way over the top. If we had not been nitpicked by the workers, the place itself is just "ok." I was alright paying the overpriced fee, because I was looking forward to kicking back. I wanted our kids to enjoy the place. Apparently you aren't able to do either there. For those reasons, kids town is useless to us. Had more fun at my house where we have snacks, a vacuum if the kids spill, toys with batteries, and no one to scold us. Oh, and it's free! read more

I dont know where to start but the place is VERY chaotic. We went there for the first time on Sunday and I was very disappointed. First, a girl probably around 4-year old pushed my 16-month old daughter to the ground, I am so surprised that nobody is actually with the 4- year old and she was just left unsupervised. One room is totally empty, and there were 6 electric sockets (there were 3 outlet in one room) that are uncovered, totally not safe for children, this one I have to tell the attendant and she told me that she will let the owner know and just walk away. If they are renovating the room or under construction they could have at least put a gate or close the room so the toddlers cant come in and possibly get electrecuted from the electric outlets. I can only count the toys available and they were old and dirty. I feel like the owner doesnt really care much about the business and the place definitely need a major overhaul. This place is great! I don't love that's $10, but any place that can keep my 21-month-old busy for 4 hours is worth it. Unlike places like Monkey Bizness, Kids Town relies on imaginative play instead of giant jungle gyms. There are cozy coupe cars, play kitchens, train tracks, a 'princess' room with a vanity and baby dolls (my daughter's favorite), books/puzzles ... pretty much anything that a kid likes to play with is here. I also like it because it lets me see what my daughter is interested in without buying the toy myself. I was thinking about buying her a play kitchen but she barely plays with the one at Kids Town - she'd rather sit at the vanity, brush her hair, and use the tiny curling iron and blow dryer. Not sure what this says about the child I'm raising, but I'm awfully glad I didn't drop $200 on a kitchen. And best of all, it's CLEAN. We kind of stopped going to play areas because one of us always picked up a cold (despite my copious use of hand sanitizer). I'm happy to report that we've been there twice and we're all still healthy. Love this place! read more

I would LOVE to give this place a 4 because of the selection of toys, but the price of $10 per child (no sibling discount) I just couldn't do it. I found this place online while looking around for things to do with kids in the suburbs and just had to take the demons here since they were driving me nuts at home! =] When we got here there were about 10 other kids and the place is decent size so it didn't seem like it. There are plenty of different areas for the kids to play, a kitchen, dance room, train and truck room, etc. They also have a play structure like you would have seen at a Leaps and Bounds back in the day except with TONS of padding. AWESOME! Both my kids LOVED it and I definitely plan on coming back, but with that price tag, they will have to be driving me pretty nuts to make it there any more than like once a month. read more

I'm glad I didn't read the other reviews before we went here, because it might have deterred me from coming. I bought a Groupon for here a few months ago and wanted to use it before we moved out-of-state. We were going to be in the area so decided to waste some time here. My only complaint about our whole visit and the reason for 4 stars is I couldn't find the place. It is located 3 miles west of 355. When I called to get directions, the phone call went immediately to a voicemail that was generic and sounded like a cell phone. I figured I had dialed the wrong number so I called again. Same thing, but this time it rang before going to this generic voice mail. IMO, a company needs to have a voicemail that tells you the name of the company and basic information like address, hours, and prices. So I drove around a good 15 minutes still not being able to find the location. I called a 3rd time and a lady answered. She told me she was new and proceeded to give me directions. After the phone call, I knew right where to go. I had already been on the company's website beforehand so I knew what to expect. We got there about 2p on a Monday and there were maybe 5 other families there. Plenty of room for everyone. My children are ages 5 and 9. While there is no age limit and my DD is 9, I knew she would still have fun and I was right. My kids absolutely loved all of the rooms there, playing dress-up, and just exploring all of the toys there. I had to pull them away for a late lunch. You are allowed to bring your own food here (LOVE!!) as long as there are no peanuts. We ate in a little area that was to the side. After lunch, my kids continued to play and explore. As for me? I had brought stuff to get done. I had my tablet with me and used their free wi-fi. I also parked myself in the lunchroom area and used their table to spread out some paperwork I needed to get done. I even brought some sewing with. We visited the bathrooms at least twice and they were super-clean. In fact, everything was super-clean. A lady was cleaning off tables each time a family was done eating. Plus, this same lady was always seen cleaning something like baseboards or toys. All of the stuff I brought with me I had accomplished so I gathered the kids and we left about 5:30 so we ended up being there over 3 hours. My kids definitely could have stayed here all day. Before going here, I would suggest checking out their website to get a feel for the place since some older kids might be bored at a place like this. My 9-year old likes the kinds of toys that were here so I knew there would be no issues. Plus, she is not pushy so I knew there wouldn't be problems with her interacting with some of the younger children there. Would love to go back!! read more

This place is awesome! My son is almost 2 years old (23 months old). There are SOOO many toys to play with for both girls and boys that he had an absolute BLAST. Of course, he didn't want to leave. The best part is that your kid can pull out every last toy and play with everything and you (the parent) don't have to put it away. Awesome! I really think $10 is a great price. I asked the girl working the desk if we could come back later that same day to play without paying the entrance fee again. She said yes! Wonderful! There are costumes for the kids to dress up. There is plenty of seating for adults. There's a food/drink area with a Keurig for coffee (they sell the pods for just under $2). They also sell little snacks for the kids and they encourage you to order food from the pizza place next door as opposed to bringing in outside food. I brought my diaper bag with me and fed my son animal crackers and water from home. I don't think the staff has a problem with things like that. They just don't want you bringing in a full on meal. There are several stations where kids can pretend to be a vet, doing groceries, playing police officer, cook, and more. A few things that I dislike about the place is that it just has a germy, grimy feel to it. Perfect place to take your toddler in the winter time. There are so many rooms for kids to play in that don't have doors and they can't escape so as parents you can relax more than other places where you have to chase your kid around the whole time. It's a little pricey so that is the only Reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. If the membership was 1/2 the cost I would join. But will definitely be back! Kids can play with the toys or climb in the playscape they have there which is completely safe - it's enclosed. PERFECT place to take a 2 yo. My kids are older now since we first discovered Kids Town a couple years ago, and it's been a little while (again) since our last visit - but the experience was still outstanding, both from a parent and child perspective. My oldest is now 6-turning-7 and while I thought she might be getting too old for Kids Town, she loves it just as much as she did when she was 4. They've remodeled and expanded since we were last here, with a whole section dedicated to a party space. It's still clean with the same fave rooms of my kids (Princess, Firefighter, Library, Trains, Grocery, House)...they now have a kiddie indoor rider roller coast as well. We came particularly for the New Years Eve bash. Kids Town hosted a wonderful New Years bash that included crafts, activities, dancing, snacks and drinks...and to top it off a a countdown at noon with balloon drop. For the last 4/6 years, our kids have been in sleep and in bed by the time the New Years countdown rolls around despite our efforts to wake them. This was their first 'real' countdown and they LOVED it. And we loved seeing how much fun they had. It was busy, but kids played nicely with each other and while crowded, still a great time. 5+++ stars to Kids Town for hosting such a fantastic event. read more

Brought our almost 2 year old here on a rainy day to run around and blow off some energy. She had fun, and the climbing slide area was cool, but the place has a lot of broken toys. Some of them i don't even know how they got broken that way. My explanation is that Andre the Giant comes back to life every night to take his zombie wrath out on the toys. The man says that's not plausible because Andre the Giant didn't even live in Illinois, but whatever. There's a rule that all children and adults must wear socks at all time in the play area. Before we left a family showed up to play without anything on their feet. Socks are available for purchase, but the worker clearly didn't care about enforcing the posted rules. Good for rainy or cold winter days if there are no better options, but i wouldn't have a party here. read more

This place definitely looked way more interesting online. A lot of the toys need batteries or are broken/missing parts. There are outlets everywhere without childproof covers which might be something to consider since you are a playground for children. There were also cleaning products or something under the sinks in the bathroom and no child locks on those doors. A lot of the walls and trim are marked up and need to be taken care of. The audio system kept cutting in and out too. The place just seems run down and definitely not worth the twelve dollars you have to pay for your kid to play here. I take a five year old boy I Nanny to this place and he LOVES it. It's 10 dollars for him to get in with no price for me which is nice.. free internet and coffee and he just has a blast. They have different areas to play in depending on the kids interests and age too. It's for under seven (any child over that wouldn't enjoy this place I wouldn't think but i could be wrong.) This was my first time here and my kids had a blast! It's toy heaven for them. I have a 5,3 and 1 year old and it caters to all of them. I found this place on Groupon and I called to ask questions and the owner told me to just come in and he would give me the discount! Normally it's like 10 per child but I paid 21 for my 3 kids which was great. When I got there it was one other mom with her 2 year old and I love going to places like this during the week because it's less crowded and the kids have more space. I went on a Tuesday by the way. The toys were clean and the Thomas the train ride was free that day and the owner turned on the bubble machine and they had so much fun. I love the little rooms and all of the toys. And the best part s not having to clean up myself lol.i will definitely be back again probably on another Tuesday read more

Brought my almost 2 1/2 year old and my 4 month old here on a cold winter day. Obviously Kids Town did not do anything for my infant..but my shy toddler loved it! At first he stayed close, and brought every firetruck and police car to my feet. But after about 30 minutes, he was riding every pedal car there! Really not sure how to grade this one. On one hand, my young son seemed to like it and spent a good two hours there, even though he was the only kid. He loved the tools and the lawnmowers and the gas pump. On the other hand, and this is a big issue, he came down with Norovirus the next day. I know there's a slim possibility that he could have gotten it from, say, a rock outside or something, but he's already had it once and he got it from a Kindercare he was for one day at where kids were in close contact and toys were used by many kids, too. He's never had stomach issues since (until going here). Also, as the others mentioned in several reviews, the batteries in 75% of the toys are dead. A Princess toy worked just fine, but none of the tools did. I decided to do what others mentioned they should have done, and I went to ask at the desk if I could get some batteries in a toy my son really liked. I got a look up from the phone and a, "Um. No. Sorry." OK... On a completely unrelated note, one corner of the place smelled strongly of tanning beds (yes, I used to go to those in college) - did this used to be a tanning place? And if so... how can it still smell of it? So, I guess for fun rating, I would give it a 4, and for everything else, a 1. I think that whole place needs a good sanitizing and a heck of a lot more batteries. read more

I brought my 16 month old here this past weekend. He had a blast I think because there were A LOT of kids there and he loves to be around other kids. My son LOVED the climber and I liked that if I had to 'rescue' him, it would be pretty easy. There are several reasons why I rated this place 3 stars. I understand that there were 2 birthday parties going on on the day we visited. That didn't really bother me. But the fact that the older kids (3-5th graders?) were running all over the place. My son was bumped and brushed several times, I'm not that kind of mother who freaks out about these type of things, but I was nervous. I think it would have been nice if management stepped in to remind the children of proper indoor play. Basically NO RUNNING. But maybe that kind of thing is allowed here. I started my toddler out in the designated area with the baby/toddler todays. Hardly any of the toys had batteries. There was a sign that seemed to say if the toys need batteries, let us know...but literally, almost ALL of the toys were needing of batteries. We checked out the rooms and the "kitchen" area didn't have hardly any toys. The train room was in absolute disarray. I probably won't bring my toddler back here as there is a similar establishment closer to me, but it's not open on Sundays and closes early on Saturday, which is why I wanted to give this place a try. Maybe it's better to come during the week, when it's less 'crazy' but unfortunately, I'm a working mom and Saturdays and Sundays are my only days to explore these type of venues. read more

Just visited this location for a potential 1st bday party venue for my daughter, but wasn't impressed at all. The rooms looked quite sparse for each "theme" & the overall feel/lighting to me was dingy & dirty. The staff person was very nice, but I still don't even think I'd bring my daughter to play there with all the (maybe dirty) old worn toys, let alone throw a party. We were lucky enough to be the first private party at the new location right upstairs and wow! It was wonderful! The Owner and Staff are so sweet and accommodating. I too was scolded, at 38 years old and like the other mom, her son, who is pretty well behaved, had a toy by the crappy climber thing they have there(which online looks nice, as does everything, but the climber, the dolls,. First visit to Kids Town in Wheaton was a big success! I don't have kids myself but I do have a very adorable nephew that I babysit quite often. I always feel like he's bored just playing at home, so I decided to venture out and see where else we can go. A friend suggested and indoor playground and so thanks to Google, I came across Kids Town. Kids Town is, as you can imagine, a small town set up with a dance room, Sherriff's room, Princess room, Pet Store (with fish tank and stuffed animals), etc. It all so cute! It's a $10 entrance fee per child but parents are free and there is free coffee and tea for the much needed adult caffeine boost as well. My nephew was only 14mo. old when we visited, he was the youngest walking child there. I did have to be more cautious since he was so small, the older kids just would take off running in this place and almost run him over. Even though he was so small though there was a ton for him to do and he was able to interact with most things here. I'm sure it will be an even better place to visit once he's a few months older. The location was clean and they had a very kids friendly snack area as well. The drawbacks to Kids Town: -If it's busy and there are a lot of older kids around, it's harder to bring a small child there since they will get run over -If your child is over the age of 5, this play space would probably be boring for them. There are a ton of interactive learning toys for the small kids, but there isn't anything for the older kids. read more

Kids Town's setup encourages imaginary and cooperative play. There's everything you'd find in a real town: a pet clinic, mail, a sheriff's office, a fire station, a construction zone, even a club (although it can be bit of a meat market in there (kidding)). Overall a pretty cool place. We took our 2 year old son here and he enjoyed it. The Thomas Ride Along is included with admission during the weekdays. That is a nice perk to try and keep traffic coming during the week and not always weekends. There is a nice little area where you are able to bring snacks for the kids. They also sell juice boxes, milk, and Capri Suns if needed. Some of the toys didn't have batteries to work properly. At the same time though, the amount of toys they offer is incredible. We were there about 12:30-3:00 and the crowd died down around 2:00. There were a total of 4 kids come 2:15 which was nice and calming for a toddler. The only concern I have (which is an ongoing concern) is parents not watching their children. There is tons of chairs for parents to sit in that are comfy. That's the issue. Some parents when we were there kicked back and let their kids (older also) run wild scaring some of the little tots. I do have to say the owner put a stop to this quickly which is maybe the reason why the crowd died down. You do need to supervise your children here due to the various age groups this attracts. read more
