I visited after watching Deep South Wrestling to check out the jazz which was on August 10th. I had a great time listening to music, sipping wine, and playing Jenga. The manager on duty was polite and helpful. I plan on visiting again in the near future.

Now this joint right here is wonderful! A great space to enjoy with friends and family. I am not sure if it can be reserved for a party. I do hope so! The drink menu seems good. I played it safe since it was my first time there so I ordered an Old Fashioned. Amazing!!! The bartenders were extremely cheerful and fun. Because I enjoyed the drink so well, I want to go down the menu and try every drink. Whiskey is what they serve but there are drinks with other liquors. The music was really good. They do serve snacks like popcorn. Oh...the prices of the drinks are shocking...in a good way! I believe this is a black-owned establishment. Please do not quote me though. I loved it here! Kudos!

The place is just a wide open space so I guess there's plenty of room for large parties. There was a live band playing that did not have the effect I think they wanted; it was so loud that it was impossible to hear each other so we sat outside. I definitely caught some attitude from the bartender when I asked her to surprise me with the composition of my whiskey flight.

Great (and spacious) spot with knowledgeable and nice staff and some cool sips to try. Generous flight pours (I'd recommend any of the char selections) and great mixed drinks. Definitely worth ducking into!

We really enjoy ASW. The ambiance is good, spacious, comfortable. We have been a couple times and staff is always friendly and willing to offer suggestions. I like their whiskey quite a bit. If I had a criticism, it would be the depth of their cocktail menu. They really only offer 5-6 choices at any given time, and that includes theirs non-whiskey offerings. Now, what they make, they make really well. This West End location has the benefit of food and other drink options all right there as well. We have not tried any of their food yet as we usually wind up eating at The Boxcar first! Definitely a nice spot to chill with friends and have some drinks.

ASW has multiple locations, and they offer different cocktail menus at each one, which is really cool! They produce different liquors: whiskey, vodka, gin, and bourbon This location is in the West End on the Beltline, next to Monday Night Brewing and Wild Heaven. They share a huge parking lot, so parking is never a concern! It's really nice and open inside. They have huge windows that let in a lot of light, and they also open them on nice days. They have rotating frozen cocktails that I usually go for at the Battery location, but this time, I decided to try their lavender cocktail. So yum! My husband ordered the old fashioned and enjoyed it.

Beautiful and delicious cocktails made with high-quality whiskey. I love ASW whiskey. I got the Figgy Smalls. The dried fig was a nice touch! Right on the Beltline, walkable to breweries. Plenty of seating inside, with some outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

My family had an excellent experience at the ASW Whiskey Exchange! We happened to schedule our tour on the same day that Jim, one of the founders, gave the tour. He shared a wealth of knowledge and some great bourbon. We enjoyed our time there and the great music and drinks at the bar!

A vibe. Passed the vibe check! We tried the frozen drinks. One was a mule and the other was a rum and coke. Delicious. They also did not hold back on the alcohol lol. They have comfortable couches, seats, tables and lounge areas. They provided games like chess, checkers, cards, scrabble etc. love this area for food drinks and a great time.

Picture to how the story began with AWS

July 26, 2020 Ordered two Old Fashioned drinks and they were good, albeit on the sweet side. Also purchased a bottle of their fine Fiddler whiskey, which was a 2018 Gold Medal winner in the San Francisco World Sprits Competition, to share on an upcoming family reunion. The copper distillers are gorgeous works of machinery. And the story of AWS' beginning is also intriguing (note the link the email for the full story did not work): "Our Story: The Way Back As far as we know, the story of ASW Distillery begins in a number of places: Ireland. France. England. Ireland In the 1700s, an Irish native we'll call Searlas Tompson tasted uisge beathe for the first time, a batch smuggled by the light of the moon to evade King George I's whiskey tax collectors. Whether it was the taste or the danger or both, Searlas could not shake whiskey from his mind or his palate (part of this may have been its 130 proof). The liquid's warmth powered him through the damp winter and slowed time during the summer, brightening each season in its own way. As rents climbed on the Isle of Eire, Searlas and his family sought out the fertile expanses of Pennsylvania, a region that soon became famous for its rye whiskey. Of all the gifts Searlas' children inherited, perhaps his taste for whiskey was the most appreciated." When I arrived it was 8 minutes to closing on a Sunday evening. I had very little time to get to know the feel of the place but I have a feeling I'll be back.

I popped in for a whiskey slushie during the GASATL car meetup (last Sunday of the month from 1-4). The ASW exchange bartender was peppy and informative; she warned that the slushie was about 3 pours of whiskey. The Slushie de Passion was delicious and potent! I thought it was going to melt insanely fast in today's heat but it maintained that partial frozen state until I finished. The establishment looks like it'd be a great place to hangout and meet friends but I didn't was to linger with my two kids in tow. The high ceilings and large garage doors allow for great airflow even when it's hot pushed. There is so much free parking, which isn't common in Atlanta. I'm looking forward to another slushie next month.

You can get a tasting or tasting pours if you want to try a few things. If you do, I recommend having at least two of their bourbons (Fiddler's Antique and Hunker), one rye (toasted for me), and one clear spirit (I prefer vodka; hubby, gin) if you can mix your liquor. Order at the beautiful back bar, then pick a seat, and they'll bring you your drink. I have a difficult time getting something other than an old-fashioned, but I also bought their espresso martini, and my hubby loves whatever mule they are making. Enjoy! If you prefer non-alcoholic, they will make you a mocktail. FYI- They have another store on the Westside Beltline.

The ambiance was airy and very chillaxing. I had one of the frozen non-alcoholic coffee slushies, which was the absolutely perfect small size, as I didn't get overwhelmed by brain freeze. I also tried the Drum cake, which supposedly is the customer favorite. Delish, and small enough to keep me guilt-free. I would have given 5 stars if they had greater selection of non-coffee drinks- come on guys... matcha is the rage now! Very comfy. I look forward to my next visit.

Strong sips, chill vibes -- but not for the faint of heart!…read moreWe stopped by Independent Distilling Company after finding a great Groupon for a flight tasting (up to 6 spirits). Heads up -- free street parking is available, but the road is narrow, so hug that curb! From the outside, the place might seem small, but the inside opens up nicely. The decor leans rustic, with stools and cozy couches for seating. We opted for the stools and visited right at opening, so the owner and bartender were still getting things going. The tasting includes nearly their entire spirit menu -- 6 out of 7 offerings -- and let me tell you, these pours are not light. Each one was a bold, high-proof experience (bartender mentioned 72 proof, if I remember right). I can handle my liquor, and even I was surprised by the strength! We stayed for about an hour to let the tastings settle in. Out of the six, I personally liked two -- my fiancée didn't enjoy any, but that's just personal taste. I wouldn't return for myself, but it was absolutely worth visiting at least once and supporting a local spot. Plus, you can only imagine how great their cocktails are based on the flavor of these spirits. Here's a quick breakdown of what we sampled: Independent White Rum - Light molasses with grassy, peppery notes. Silver medal winner. Barrel Aged Rum - Butterscotch, honey, oaky vanilla. Voted Best Georgia Distilled Spirit. Hellbender Corn Whiskey - Strong corn flavor, hay, green apple, and caramel popcorn vibes. Fowler's New World Gin - Bright and botanical. Notes of citrus, herbs, and spice with an American twist. Hellbender Bourbon - Oak-forward with vanilla, burnt orange, and baking spice. Classic and robust. Outlier No. 21 (Port Cask Finish) - Aged 9 years, finished in port casks. Deep, rich, fruity, and complex. If you're into small-batch craft spirits with character and kick, definitely swing by. Just don't come on an empty stomach -- you've been warned.

We had gone to a cafe earlier in the day but it was still too early for dinner so we kept searching for something interesting to do. That's when my husband found Distillery of Modern Art. I wasn't really in the mood for drinking during the day so I wasn't sure at first but I'm so glad we went! We had never heard of a combination of a distillery and an art gallery before which immediately caught our attention. It looked like the space is used for a variety of events as well. Since we visited during Mother's Day weekend, there was a flower arrangement workshop happening in one of the rooms when we arrived. The bar area was very spacious with plenty of seating and since it was our first visit, we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the different liquors they produce. My husband sampled their rye whiskey, gin, and Amaro Peach. I'm usually not much of a gin fan but theirs was exceptionally smooth and I actually enjoyed it. Amaro tends to be quite bitter but their Amaro Peach had a really nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. I ordered the Ocean Eyes cocktail which features their Amaro Peach and it was excellent. The bartender also made his own special version of a classic cocktail for my husband (I forgot the name!) and he really enjoyed it. What stood out most was how friendly and passionate the bartender was. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does and honestly, he made the experience even more enjoyable for us.
