I had at&t install fiber optic internet and telephone in my home. The 100 Mbps internet and WiFi is great! The installer was excellent. Cost is about what I was paying at my old provider. After 2 weeks the only negative is the email "client.". It has several crappy features. But ... Overall I am very pleased with my switch. read more

A T & T needs a more effective way for customers to report when phone service is down. I tried to do this yesterday. When I finally got through to an operator, he thanked me over and over for being a customer but didn't provide the assistance I needed. He tried to transfer me to the "Parts' department. This is ridiculous. As long as you're going to use AI, why don't you have an AI service request form? Also, you're going to have a fair number of customers switching from traditional landlines in this area. Perhaps you could make this process easier? The clerks in the retail stores have no idea how to help customers, just to make sales. read more

Each an every time I have to call at&t for a question the call take over 45 mins for a simple question to be answered. I start the call by answering their question and then tell them the reason for my call nobody take notes like your name or etc they ask the same question that I already cleared up as to why I'm calling... The customer is to slow and need to pay attention to the caller, write down spelling of names, and account number etc.... A call that should take 10 min taking 45 mins or longer. read more

This is not a particular store but the company itself, AT&T. I switched because I was told my wireless and internet together would be much cheaper than my current one.IT IS NOT. And on top of that the one phone took me almost 2 months to get it ported over and now I'm told I have to wait another 60 days to use it . I am NOT satisfied but everytime I call I speak to a chatbot and then a person who has a limited amount they can do except repeat everything the chatbot said. When I ask to speak with a supervisor I am told they are not available and I need to wait and unknown amount of time and they can't call you back. VERY DISAPPOINTED and UNHAPPY with AT&T. The ATT internet is great!! However, our the TV bill just went up over 40%. After two weeks of attempting to secure a new price I was told they couldn't help me. Calling to cancel ATT TV, you can't cancel via the net, they continued to attempt to talk me into staying. Other TV suppliers have the same services for less than half the price and ATT. The ATT TV app also is terrible, takes a long time to load, buffers all the time , even one of the service installers had mentioned it was an bad application. read more

Customer service is totally missing. After having people knocking on my door telling me that Fiber service is now available. Even put a note on my mailbox professing the new service. Scheduled an instal day, nobody showed up all day. When I got ahold of someone at the number that previously had made the appointment, no explanation as to why. Was it lack of techs , service interruptions or something else. Was promised an explanation but after a week Noone responds to my messsges. I'm posting this because when we discover dishonest business practices, we should hold those businesses accountable and warn other consumers about it. on 6/5, I contacted AT&T about slow internet speeds at my home. We have been experiencing very slow service in the afternoons and there have been occurrences of our Wi-Fi not working at all. We are currently paying for the high speed fiber optic package, so there should be no reason for slow internet or internet not working at all. I called AT&T to complain about this. They told me that there was no issue with our internet. I insisted that we were not receiving the service that we were paying for and that if they were not able to resolve it, we would have no choice but to switch providers. I suggested that they send me a new router and maybe that would resolve the issue. The rep told me that they would send me a new router right away and that they would process the order with "high importance." The rep also gave me an order number. Three weeks later, no router was delivered. I called them back and asked what the status was. The rep told me that an order was not placed for us and that the order number I was given did not exist. I have the entire transcript of the conversation from 6/5 saved to substantiate the fact that I was lied to. The rep at AT&T lied to me and created a fictitious order number just to appease me and shut me up. Needless to say, we are done with AT&T. read more

After waiting a long time for the AT&T website to load, I finally got through the process of selecting an internet service. The day arrives when the installation guy shows up. He did not. Turns out I never got my order submitted. I go through the process a second time. I now spend a half hour on the phone to confirming that the installation person will be there tomorrow. He will not be there tomorrow and in fact I can sit and wait for an email for 5-7 days to see if my order has been approved. Can a person really go without internet a whole week? I should have spent the extra $10 with Spectrum since I know they have good service. If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself. read more

Tried to get fiber installed when I moved into my new house and was told after waiting for two techs over two days that fiber was not available in my area. They refused to refund the $100 installation fee even though no installation took place. A few months later I get a letter say fiber is now available in my area. Fiber is the best internet available so I wanted it despite the fact that they basically stole money from me. So I scheduled installation just to be told again that there is still not fiber service at my house. They do have fiber one block over so I tried calling just to see if someone could tell me if they plan on installing fiber on my block soon only to get a runaround and still, after 3 failed installations they tried getting me to schedule installation again and again. The problem is in Milwaukee there is a 15th place where I live and a 15th street where I don't live but fiber is available. They never resolved a problem as simple as separating the two streets so they stop offering me service. read more

The worst Customer Service I have ever had. I had been with them for over 7 years and that did not matter. I moved they came out and there was a problem with the Jumper on the pole so they had to have that fixed. They never installed, 3 appointments scheduled following with all no shows my account was mysteriously cancelled with no notice to me at all. Another 2 calls, 1 45 minute chat that they dropped and 2 visits to AT&T stores I was told I would have to establish new service because it was cancelled but could not tell me why and I would have to start a new contract (more expensive of course). I returned all of the equipment and will NEVER return to AT&T nor recommend them! read more

Wish I can give zero stars, current customer of 3 years. Long story short; your privacy and information is not secure. I had a scammer call contact me after I placed a service call. I contacted Att about the fradualent call, they confirmed that it was not their techs/services. Fraud dept ignored my concerns and said scammers googled my home address, name, telephone, and also the date and time and my service appointment. Would not let me talk after I asked why my service appointment is public information. Avoid this company if you care about your information, they clearly don't secure their information. I really wish there was a minus in stars. I am now having to pay a bill that they turned over to a collection agency. It is not a valid bill, no one will listen and just getting through to any type of customer service is a nightmare and very time consuming. I have not had them as my carrier since january, have tried talking with them on the issue and they DO NOT CARE. DO NOT USE AT & T! they offered a $100.00 rebate card that they say can be used to pay your bill. I did that, the card disappeared, they would not issue a new one and kept sending a bill for an amount that I do not owe. Customer service is non-existent. Do yourself a favor and avoid doing business with AT&T. My experience has been that the rates they quote when selling the package are not accurately reflected on the bill. The representations made by the salesperson have not been honored and the monthly cost increased steadily without any new services. Terrible customer service! My ATT U-verse service went down five days ago. Still trying to get it fixed. Call customer service and it takes five minutes to speak to a real person. They treat each call as if it's a new complaint, so It takes 5 more minutes to get CSRs to stop reading their scripts (is it plugged in, etc.) and look into why your service is still not working. They diagnosed problem 2 days ago (a break in the line) but still haven't sent anyone to fix. Looking for an internet service provider that RESPECTS customers! read more

Watch your back with this company at all times. Better yet, just avoid them. They've been incompetent at best and appallingly unethical at worst. The customer service has so far been some of the worst I've ever experienced. They've wasted hours of my time and at the time of this writing have wrongly taken nearly $700 of my money through automatic withdrawal and have refused to pay it back. I had AT&T Uverse for the entire year and a half I lived in Milwaukee. I lived in two different rental apartments during that time. The first was the top floor of a duplex. They couldn't seem to distinguish my address from my downstairs neighbor's. Once the service was off for nearly a week because they turned off the wrong line when one downstairs neighbor moved out and another moved in. I spent hours on the phone over that one, got multiple stories from different reps, and called daily for days and got multiple stories from their techs before they finally came out and fixed it. I had no service for about a week in all. Several other outages lasted more than 24 hours and were almost as aggravating. But all that was mere incompetence, which is somewhat forgivable. Last January, however, I moved from my second apartment there to a city on the East Coast they do not serve. At all. called them a week before I left town in January, told them to discontinue U-verse service, and brought my modem to one of their authorized dropoff spots. After I got to the East Coast, I was busy for months getting up to speed at a busy job, and for eight months I didn't notice the unauthorized $83 per month automatic withdrawal they made every month. Today I went online and checked my AT&T bill, and saw that they had in fact been taking my money each month, despite having my correct East Coast address on it, where they do not even serve. Once I realized what had happened, I immediately called and told their customer service rep the situation and requested a full refund for the eight months at $83 a month for which they provided me zero service and took money from my bank account. After keeping me on hold for half an hour, she admitted that they had in fact received my call to terminate service eight months earlier, but claimed that because the call had gotten cut off before they read all their disclaimers that when that happened it was their policy not to discontinue service. Who knows if that's true -- it was months ago. But even if it was, it's their problem, not mine. Then she offered a refund for 60 days, saying the earlier times were past the statute of limitations and they were unable to issue a refund for longer. I hit the roof and demanded a full refund for the eight months because they provided me no service. She offered two more months. I demanded a full refund. At this point, the rep, following some sick script, then tried to turn it around and blame me, asking in a nasty way, don't you check your bank account for automatic withdrawals? I said, don't you see if the person you're billing actually lives in a city you serve before you take their money?! I again insisted on a full refund because they it would be the ethical thing for any business to do. She refused. I asked to speak with her supervisor. Same song and dance, including the same nasty script trying to blame me for their mistake. I asked to speak with the supervisor's supervisor. She first told me that she was a supervisor. I repeated my request. I got the supervisor's supervisor. I explained why I deserved the full refund. She tried to turn it around on me a different way, insisting four months was all she would offer and anything beyond four months refund would require legal action on my part. I tried to appeal to whatever vestigial conscience she possessed, saying it was obvious that it wasn't worth going to small claims court for $332, but I asked pointedly if she would do the only morally and ethically correct thing and refund me all my money. She told me she wouldn't, that she wouldn't refund even the four months the previous rep had PROMISED ME because we "hadn't come to an agreement." Then the line went dead. She called me back and left a voicemail (I missed the call) claiming the call was dropped and she didn't want me to think she hung up on me. I think she hung up on me. In her voicemail, she promised that yet another manager would call me back over the next 24-48 hours. I will report back on if that happens and if I am refunded the almost $700 they took from my bank account. So far I've received nothing and spent 90 minutes of my workday, most of it on hold, getting stonewalled, insulted, and probably hung up on, and I'm still out all that money. I agree with the previous commenter who said they seem to regard automatic withdrawal from your bank account as some kind of game. That said, I will update this review if I get any kind of positive resolution. read more

I called to switch my service to another provider and their "customer retention team" offered me an internet and TV package (with better services than my current plan) for $108 + tax. I made the switch and received my first bill for $230.38 !!!!!!! Another bait and switch - they offered me 45mb internet. I tested the speed upon install and it was 20mb, I called to resolve and they changed to 45mb, now I test it and I was down graded back to 20mb. How do they think they can get away with this ? Beware - sales rep mis-quoted (said $70/mo, ended up being $94.95/mo) and it's incredibly difficult to get a hold of them to get info or to cancel. Seemed like a good deal, spoke to the rep on the phone to sign up, and easy to get everything scheduled for install. Then, once the bills start coming in, it's a different price and they don't explain the reasons, ignore the request for an explanation on email requests, and then the phone calls disconnect after 20+ min of being on hold. So, they do a bait-and-switch and won't explain what's going on, and won't let you cancel without speaking to them. But then you go through the entire process of being on hold and then having the call disconnect. I would strongly not recommend. read more

My pAyment was late last month so they intereupted my service which im sure just constituted pushing a button on their end. I literally paid it within a day of the interruption. My bill now is in the neighborhood of 120 dollars. Im speechless. Went to cancel my service. What do you know theres no way to do it on their website. Had to call in and they put you through a very intricate maize obviously designed to make it very difficult to do so. I've had AT&T Uverse TV for about 7 years now. We had the typical installation bugs to get worked out, but for the last 7 years have had exceptional service. The guide software is fast, rewind and fast forward are very accurate, large DVR space and 4 HD streams at one time. We just recently started getting a bad signal error. The customer service rep was very knowledgeable and helpful. We called at 10am and they were able to get us a technician between 1pm and 4pm the same day. The tech was at our house by 1:15, replaced one of our old pieces of equipment and restored our service. We currently have time Warner cable for Internet but will very soon be looking to switch. read more

AT&T charged me $99.00 for installation fee which the Tech only brought in the Modem and connected to my previous service line and only took less than ten minutes to hooked it up for $99 service. Asked to have the installation fee break into three payments, but decided to made one full payment of $99.00 during my first billing statement. AT&T took the money but still kept charging me $45.00 each month for the next two payment cycles. Call to cancel service after six month and come to find out that there's a $105.00 cancellation fee plus tax and fee total $110.88. I switched from Time Warner to Uverse about 5 years ago for a better price and what started out as substantially improved service. Unfortunately, they have hit a low in service quality that I could not even fathom were I not actually experiencing it. It has taken 7 calls, 1 chat session and over a week to get an additional TV receiver that is not the receiver I requested. I have been lied to about the costs, told to not pay attention to the confirmation emails that come after each call and are inconsistent with what I have been told, I have been hung up on after holding for extended periods of time, and transferred to different people while holding and then forced to start all over explaining the issue. The final result has been that, to get the wired receiver I requested and was told would be sent, I will need to make an appointment during a 4 hour window and then pay $98.00 to have someone screw the coaxial cable into the back of the box. Unless you enjoy being treated worse than you have probably ever experienced, I would recommend staying as far away from this organization as possible. I didn't believe I would ever say this but I am actually looking forward to dealing with Time Warner. read more

I have had similar experiences as the fellow reviewers in the past. The first two years I had AT&T were fantastic and cheap. When I moved they said they would give me the EXACT price and EXACT service I had been receiving for 2 YEARS. After 2 YEARS of paying $85/month, the first bill I received was $95/month, not bad but I thought I would just call to see what the deal was. 3 hours of phone calls and various reps and levels of supervision and I am finally told that anything I was promised was a lie and the rep who made that promise was wrong. I finally cave and say fine, I will pay the $95/month. 2 MONTHS LATER, my bill reads $110 and I again (foolishly) call, online chat, and talk with numerous reps and never achieve any sort of compromise. So I continue to pay my higher bill just for my sanity. Next step, I am ready to move from my current address but my roommate at that address wants to keep the service, so I try to transfer the billing to him. After being bombarded with offers to transfer my service to a new address, I tell them I do not want to pay them for cancelling their service and I do not want their service at the new address, I simply want to have my (now former) roommate pay for the service he wishes to continue receiving. So of course, I am put on hold (for a third time) and not even 30 seconds in I am disconnected and the computer operator tells me I must hang up and call back. I am finished working with these criminals who are incomprehensibly stupid and thick-skulled. I will never by choice use AT&T and their services ever again. They make promises that they don't follow through with, the depth of your call must never reach past that which can already be found online, and "Supervisor at AT&T" is simply someone who has worked there for a long time and speaks English as a first language, but they have absolutely no power over the price of their bill. No people skills, no adaptability, and absolutely terrible if you ever have a non-ordinary situation. In July I decided to change cell phone and internet Carriers. I had ATT and was attempting to cancel the services. I had three Cell phones on the service and one of them could not be unlocked. I called for two weeks and got the run around on how the phone would be unlocked but it wasn't. This phone was bought with cash outright and never on a payment plan and ATT continually told me they couldn't unlock it. Then after my billing date and several angry phone calls latter amazingly the phone was unlocked using the same phone numbers and call centers that couldn't do it previously. Then I got charged over $200 for the next months bill. I called them and tried to recoup my money and was told that since I had canceled after my billing date per the new billing rules, I agreed to I would not get my money back. Even though two of the three lines had been dropped prior to the billing date and the reason the third had not was because the company had held my privately-owned device hostage for the time frame where I wouldn't have had to be billed. Now in October after having canceled my ATT U-verse internet service in July I get a collection notice for $100. I call ATT and inquired about this new charge. I was told that since I had payed for July 15th and canceled on July 23rd I owed the amount for the WEEK of service I had gotten. I asked why I wasn't told at the time of canceling I would owe this money and was told. "We don't have that information at the time because it is calculated later." Our bill has ranged from 59 dollars to 150 dollars with no clear reason for the change, I've called multiple times to ask why our bill fluctuates so much, and have been hung upon, refused service because I was not calling from the number they have on file?? and lied to about changes they would make on our bill. It seems like a game to them, I think maybe they count on people setting up automatic payment and not checking the billing statement every month. We have had enough, it seems shady, and I just cancelled our service.
