I have been an AT&T customer for over 10 years, and this has been the most frustrating customer service experience I've ever had. The experience started with Conner, the representative who sold me the new plan. I agreed to switch from my grandfathered unlimited plan because I was told I would still keep the HBO Max benefit that my existing plan included. That turned out to be false. After switching, I lost access to HBO Max, which now costs approximately $23 per month, completely eliminating the savings I was promised. To correct this mistake, I spent over six hours on the phone with three different customer service representatives. Eventually, one representative was able to restore my grandfathered plan and my HBO Max benefit. However, I was told that the only way to remove the unnecessary third line from my account without causing additional issues was to go to an AT&T store. I drove to the store expecting to finally resolve everything. Instead, I was told by a manager, Adam, that there was nothing the store could do and that I needed to call 611 again--even though I had specifically been instructed by customer service to visit the store. I then spent another 45 minutes on the phone inside the store, only for the representative to disconnect the call. To make matters worse, the area manager, Taylor, was in the store at the time. When we asked to speak with her, she disappeared into the back for a "meeting" rather than assisting a loyal customer who had already spent hours trying to fix a problem that AT&T created. The most disappointing part is that I originally came in to purchase a new phone using the upgrade that was already available on my existing line. Instead of helping me complete that purchase, it felt like the focus was on selling me an unnecessary additional line. What should have been a simple phone upgrade turned into days of wasted time, conflicting information, and terrible customer service. AT&T's departments clearly do not communicate with one another. Customers should not have to bounce between customer service and retail stores while each blames the other. After more than a decade of loyalty, I expected far better treatment. Instead, I was left feeling that making a sale mattered more than taking care of an existing customer. I cannot recommend AT&T based on this experience. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with Tarvaris. He came across as arrogant and dismissive, making it clear he had no interest in helping. His tone was rude and unprofessional, and the entire interaction left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. It's unfortunate to encounter that kind of attitude from someone representing a company especially when customers simply expect basic courtesy and support. We have been having issues since August and it's very frustrating to have to deal with remedial people that are on their customer service team. I walked and thought it was busy but it was all the "sales associates" chit chatting with another. There was no acknowledgment or greeting. I had to ask for help and the guy looked at me as if I was bothering him. I came in for an upgrade because my screen was broken and I was eligible for one since mine was seven years old. When i asked about promotions he pointed me in the direction of the displaid phones and said prices were stated. Then when he found out I was not interested in buying a phone and he would have to work by explaining my options he referred me to the UbreakIfix store across the street. I went to Akard location and left with a new phone and grateful for people that do have customer skills, product knowledge and interested in helping people. read more

This is for AT&T wireless service and there promotional programs. I switched my phone service from Verizon to AT&T with a "guarantee" to have reduced monthly service costs, along with a "promotional device payoff" of up to $800 per eligible line via a credit to my account monthly, beginning in ~60-90 days. I was told this by the representative at my home multiple times and followed up by a Supervisor that came to my house the same day that I would not need to do anything to ensure that I would receive the device payoff credit. WRONG I am out of pocket to Verizon for the devices I was paying on monthly and I find myself out 90+ days, NO DEVICE CREDIT, ABSOLUTELY ZERO SUPPORT to RESOLVE, essentially the SAME MONTHLY SERVICE COSTS as Verizon AND arguably WORSE Cellular coverage...good thing I have WiFi at home because I would have little to no service otherwise...btw had cellular coverage at home with Verizon. read more

Sales person talked me out of a phone upgrade. Told me it would be a stupid idea to upgrade and quoted me a price that was $100+ than I was quoted at the Northpark At&t. They sent me to Walmart for the flip phone replacement which Walmart only offers as an on online sale... not in stores. Worst service EVER! Arrived and w/in 10 minutes a woman, Jasmine came over. She took my name, cell number & said she would check my account & the plans that I was eligible for a replacement phone. 20 minutes later after she went around the showroom and talked for a short while w/another customer. She then went over and stood by the other att person/another client. I finally got up and went over & asked when she would take care of my needs. Jasmine looked @ me and claimed that she had not had that conversation & finally said that I was in the queue! Took my 83-year-old mother to AT&T store on Oak Lawn this morning. We were the first customers to arrive. All we wanted was a little troubleshooting as she was having some issues with her iPhone. We had barely sat down when the associate said 'we don't troubleshoot here you'll need to go to the Apple store'. I barely got a few words out before he so callously interrupted me. I started to show him my mom's phone and he says 'I don't even know what that is'....Ummm okay. If you hate people so much find a job that isn't customer facing. Do better AT&T. Also, the guy that appeared to be a manager or the person behind the desk at the entrance just stared...and we were promptly escorted out of the store. Pathetic. read more

He offered me an expired promotion and did next to nothing to help me choose and set up a new device. In fact, he seemed annoyed and distracted! The handler lady said Maxi was not signing any personal items that we brought in. This was not stated on the Facebook post nor the AT&T website. She said only pictures can be taken with him and their tiny little promo card could be signed. Store location is convenient if you live near the Oak Lawn or Uptown part of Dallas. The staff is friendly and helps the best they can. My only problem is the story is it feels like there is always a wait, and for whatever reason, they always seem like they're having a hard time dealing with the customers they have ahead of you. JEFF E. - one of the managers is HORRIBLE & A LIAR. On 2/24/21, I went into this store as a walk in for a simple upgrade to a new iPhone/trade in. After waiting in line for far too long, someone really amazing and nice helped me (Wish I remembered his name, he was SO NICE!) But when I got home, my SIM card was not activated and I couldn't use the phone at all other than wifi. So I went straight back to the store right before closing time at about 7:20pm. Jeff E., the worst customer service person I've dealt with in a while, "helped" me. He tried to do a network reset 3 times to no avail and finally gave up (probably wanting to go home and not deal with me) so he LIED FLAT OUT because it was verbal not in writing. He said I would have to be without a phone until the morning so basically 12 HOURS!!! He sent me home and said he made me the earliest possible appt for the next day (Thurs 2/25/21) which was 12pm. He said to come in at opening time and I QUOTE: "Come in right when we open at 10am and I'll bump you to the top of the line in front of anyone else since this is pretty urgent" he legit repeated "I'll bump you to the front" like at least 4 times. I have a witness (my bf was With me) who can corroborate this story AS FACT. WAIT FOR IT.... I go in this morning right at 10 and this amazing girl Beatrize helps me (so nice, amazing hair :)) and she calls Jeff right in front of me. when she hangs up she says "he was surprised you are here so early and he says he didn't tell you to come in until your appointment at 12." I WAS SO DUMBFOUNDED. like how dare you Jeff? not to mention he was already so rude to me the night before, don't LIE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. I have a business account. RUDE RUDE RUDE RUDE. I will discourage anyone from purchasing anything from AT&T/Direct TV. I purchased internet and TV service from Direct TV in 2016. Everything went smoothly until I left my house to move back into an apartment. I called DirectTV and they said that it was not a problem. I was told that they would switch my service from DirectTV satellite TV to AT&T cable. I was of course ok with this as I hadn't had any reason yet to be displeased with DirectTV/AT&T. From December 2017 to June 2018 I was charged monthly for AT&T and DirectTV concurrently. I called EVERY MONTH and said the same thing - I cancelled Direct TV in December. They switched me to AT&T. I should not be charged for DirectTV. They would respond with - "oh yes, I see that you did indeed cancel in December, we will refund you." This happened EVERY SINGLE MONTH with of course me getting more frustrated. Then I got orders to go Active Duty Army and leave for training in June 2018. In May, I started making all the necessary cancellations of all of my services. Everything from electricity to CrossFit cancelled no problem. Then I had to deal with AT&T/DirectTV. I was told a different thing every time I contacted them. First, I couldn't do it over online chat - ok, no problem. Called them. They transferred me from department to department until they finally told me I had to go in person with my Military Orders to cancel. I asked them if they could finally cancel my DirectTV after charging me month after month. They said they would. Military Orders in hand, I went to the nearest AT&T brick and mortar store to hopefully FINALLY get this all sorted out. "We cannot cancel you in the store." I about cried. I left for military training in a couple weeks, and my stress level was at an all time high. Thankfully, the rep in the store did his best to be helpful and called AT&T personally so he could get my account cancelled for me. I told him - the movers come to pick all of my stuff June 3, 2018. I need my services to be cancelled on June 4th, 2018. I didn't have cell reception at my apartment and with all of the stuff I still needed to get done, the last thing I needed was an inability to access the internet. I was assured that everything had been taken care of and I should not be charged again for AT&T services. Well, it was just getting started. I woke up the next morning and checked my phone. This was May 25th, 2018. The WiFi was down. I did my usual troubleshooting but nothing worked. Then it struck me. I got exactly what I asked for. My service was cancelled. At literally the worst possible time. Finding the only spot in my apartment to get cell reception, I called AT&T to see what the deal was. The whole ordeal took, no kidding, no exaggeration FOUR HOURS. All I needed was for my service to be turned back on. They turned it off easy as that, why can't they turn it on? I was transferred from department to department over and over. My call was disconnected repeatedly because I could not find good cell reception in that part of Dallas. I was transferred to a contract service who were just as confused as I was as to why the rep transferred me to them. I am someone who hates confrontation but I finally broke. I cried, screamed, and cussed at the next rep I talked to. I was so frustrated. They told me they would have to charge me a RE-ACTIVATION FEE. I told them again and again that my service was turned off as a mistake. They told me they couldn't get anyone out there to turn on my services until 8 days later. I would almost be moved out by then, what was the point? My tears and cussing must have finally worked because I was transferred to someone in management who saw clear as day all of the mistakes that had made on their end. She made a note on my account to cancel my account whenever I called back. She had someone to my apartment in 30 minutes. They were there for all of 5 minutes before my service was resumed. I wish it ended there.... June comes around and I call to cancel. For the first time, it went smoothly. The rep saw the note on my account, my account was cancelled, the email was sent to me to return my equipment. I returned all of my equipment on or about June 6th, 2018. In August I received a refund for $300 for all of the overcharges they had charged me. My military training had me bouncing around from Oklahoma, to Texas, to Hawaii where I hotel hopped until I found a place to live. In November of 2018 I received a letter in the mail saying my DirectTV account was in collections. COLLECTIONS???????? After I was refunded over $300 and all of the you know what they put me through??? I've called them repeatedly and they claim they are checking to see if they misplace what I sent back. Meanwhile, my account sits in collections. I paid and overpaid every month on time. Yet now I have an account in collections because DirectTV misplace their own equipment I sent back to them. Do. AT&T is such a disaster. I now have 3 iPhone 11 Pro Max phones that won't work correctly with Cellular Data. Jeffrey Ensign, Assistant Store Manager at AT&T Store on Oaklawn Ave in Dallas, TX refused to acknowledge that there was a larger issue and escalate my issue. Criscella Hernandez, Store Manage III, has yet to acknowledge me and return my call. Asurion, AT&T's phone insurance company refuses to help because it is a pre-existing condition. (Not sure how this works since two of the phones are replacements to try to resolve the data issue). Yesterday morning I spent over an hour with an AT&T agent at 800-331-0500, who opened an escalated case for me and assured me that I would be receiving test messages and emails within the hours. Over 24 hours later I have heard nothing. Also, for some reason, AT&T has associated my account with a phone number that I don't use, and now I can't even log into my account. How does AT&T expect me to pay the bill? The person I spoke with yesterday morning said I would need to wait 48 hours and try again. WHAT?!?! Truly just something he said to get me off the phone I believe. I think I'm just going to stop by the Verizon Store after work and switch my phone, my watch, and my internet to Verizion. read more

I was really happy with the service I got in-store until I realized that I had been lied to. The associate, Kim Dunlap, told me that I was getting a $50 plan +2G data. She flat out lied, as I have come to figure out. I only get 1G, and they automatically charge my account $20 when I use it up, and only to add just 1 more! I have only had service with AT&T for less than 2 months, and I'm already regretting my decision. I called to address the issue several times, but AT&T's response (both in-store and over the phone) was that they wouldn't honor what their own associate assured me they I would be getting. The manager at the Oak Lawn location where I bought the phone wouldn't even return my calls on the matter. The first time I called, he said he'd look into the issue and see what he could do. Here I am a week later still waiting on that phone call. So AT&T is clearly a bunch of bait & switch thieves who don't honor their word. After spending a total of 3 hours on two different calls with AT&T customer service, I wanted to cry and switch providers. I was out of town and nowhere near a AT&T store, so as soon as I got back in town, I went to this AT&T store by my home. All of my issues were resolved within 30 minutes, and it was a breeze. Jared Johnson, the rep I usually speak with, was busy, so Lazaro helped me, and he was so nice and knew what he was talking about. He was quick, efficient, and never tried to rush me. AT&T phone support has always been TERRIBLE so it's best just to go to the store, makes life so much less stressful. My only warning is to get there when the store opens. I got there at 10:05am (it opened at 10am on a Monday morning) and was already put on a wait list, then 4 people came in right after me...yikes! I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. The customer service is non-existent. When we walked in, the employees were all gathered at the front desk chatting. When one woman asked what we needed, it was obvious that she didn't want to leave her chat session. When I told her I wanted to get an upgrade at the monthly rate advertised in an email I received, she said I needed to do that online to get that pricing and they'd mail the phone to me. When I asked if there was a way I could do it while I was there, I got a firm 'NO'. Any question I asked her was responded to with a short snappy answer. I'd ask her to explain and she'd just repeat herself. I finally told her I'd order it online. And when I did, I had the option to have the phone mailed to me or pick it up in 2 hours . . . from the store I was just at! Typical AT&T run-around BS.
