I've purchased many pink box Barbies from them for my collection. I feel like their prices are fair when you compare costs to the same items on eBay which is kind of exploitative to sellers anyway. I haven't sold anything to DVT yet, but I feel like I could trust that they would be fair. I think it's important to understand what DVT specializes in and not walk in expecting to sell them just anything and get a pretty penny for it. They do a great job of organizing and displaying everything as well and they keep their social media updated daily with new merchandise. They also have celebrity meet and greets too which is fun and they also have the occasional sidewalk sale (so sad I missed the last one). I really can't understand why anyone would rate DVT low. The first time I went there, it was admittedly a bit overwhelming as it took me an hour or so just to get a grasp on the lay of the land. DVT really shines with vintage Star Wars and GI Joe '70s and '80s figures, vehicles, and playsets - both loose, on card and in box. It's just as much of an art gallery as it is a retail business. DTV has a dedicated room of officially graded toys if you're looking very top of the line, several thousand dollars in value. And it also has loose complete Star Wars figures you can buy for $24.99, depending on the character. I really enjoy re-releases of my favorite toys growing up, and often prefer commemorative editions so I can enjoy the nostalgia without the heavy financial investment, and DVT has good finds of later releases. There's so much variety. If you don't prefer figures, you might score an item like the Yoda puppet from Empire Strikes Back or other merchandise you don't see all the time. While DVT makes its high-value offerings visible, you might very well dig up some treasure in the aisles as you browse. This past weekend, I came across the Hot Toys Jack Nicholson '89 Joker 1/6 scale figure - an undeniable Grail. It was just hanging out in the Batman section on the shelf with the rest. I forced myself not to look in the box and walk away as I've never seen it in person - I knew I would fall in love. It's $500 I don't have to explain to my wife! While I have purchased a few things from DTV, I am not familiar with the experience of selling a collection there. In the late 90s/early 2000s, I sold many of my old figures to a similar establishment and really regret it. What I will say is that Shaun and his staff are readily available for advice and to bounce ideas off of, and so, if you want to sell, it's definitely worth consulting with them. Just know you very well could get a third of what you perceive your collection to be worth - and that's anywhere. These businesses need to eat and pay bills just like the rest of us! If you haven't been to this nostalgia museum, take some time to relax, know your spending limits before walking in, and enjoy. May the Force Be With You!

Although it does not carry what I'm specifically interested in, if you like to play board games in a relaxed social atmosphere and pick up more modern-day collectibles, this might be the place for you. Madness has a wide variety of collector card sets, board games, and also modern action figure lines, with Star Wars and G.I. Joe as large focal points. Madness does carry some vintage Star Wars figures from the '70s/'80s but it really shines with the franchise toy lines that have come after that heyday, with deep inventory in the sequel trilogy figures, Power of the Force, post-prequel movie and streaming show figures, and the Retro Collection. This is also the place if you love the Pop! Funko figures (which I do not in the least) as Madness has definitely gone all in on the craze. I found the staff to be helpful with my questions during my visit and they gave me space to think about some items I was mulling over. Although I probably won't be a frequent visitor, I appreciate the unique offerings Madness brings, especially in creating community.

I've been a long time supporter of Game Nerdz and have told others about the site too…read more Unfortunately, I recently purchased a number of items including the newest expansion for Root which had a Kickstarter logo on the listing photo, and was in the Kickstarter area of the website. The only thing available from the original Root Kickstarter was the Expansion which included 2 additional items - a new deck and a hirelings pack. I was surprised when upon receiving my items, it did NOT include the new deck or hirelings pack. Thinking this was an oversight given Game Nerdz clear avertising that this was the Kickstarter version, I contacted them. They said I could return the item, but they stated they made no mistake, refused to even update their false listing, and "no one else complained". To be clear, the Kickstarter cost $50, as did the Game Nerdz listing, so nothing flagged me as being off in pricing. No other site is advertising the stand alone retail expansion as "Kickstarter", and I even sent customer service 4 other sites showing those sites listings DO NOT claim to have the KS version. Game Nerdz is advertising the wrong thing, but worse still is their refusal to fix their listing or admit anything wrong or misleading. They stated "well we got it from KS, so that's why it's there". But... they got the kickstarter version and SEPERATED the KS into 3 different SKUs - fine but that is RETAIL, not KS, so don't advertise it wrong. Given the clear false advertising, I can no longer trust Game Nerdz to ship me what is actually advertised on their website. I've spent thousands on this site, and will no longer support them given they refused to even update their listing, admit anything wrong, or make it right with me. They are taking it back as a return, so that's a positive. Oddly enough, they could've just made this right by sending me the 2 additional items which are worth $22 (they paid less than this). Instead, they're paying for me to ship it back to them as a return, and the expansion is opened so they can't even sell it new. I'm returning other items too, so they're losing sales on multiple items plus the LOSS on the now used expansion. They're going to lose money on this transaction, and lose me as a customer. A smart business would make it right instead, and come out way ahead even in the short term.
