Man Frick AT&T! Don't believe me? How about some advice from Pop/R&B star, Drake... "If you're reading this it's too late". No seriously, I'm guessing if your taking the time to read this review then you probably also got scammed by this establishment. Their scam goes as follows: First they make it incredibly easy to sign up for a new contract. So I went in looking to get a new phone in Late August because I had an outdated iPhone 6s that was barely functioning. I was willing to spend the primo dinero and I had one goal in mind. To get a phone that worked. I asked the eager salesperson who's eyes lit up with dollar signs as I told him my interest in another plan. He showed me right to the iPhones saying I have one and they've improved them so much, I love it. He goes on to tell me about how it's better than my current phone in the following ways.... eventually he makes the sale. I leave the store satisfied that I can open apps without having to wait actually 30 seconds. Fast forward to now... My phone has limited reception in places it once worked perfectly. I get on the phone with UI (electric company) after waiting an hour on hold only for the person on the other end to get frustrated about my connection (in downtown new haven mind you) and hang up. Frustrated I called myself from another phone to see if my connection was really the issue; it was, there was no microphone activity at all. I figure, Why should I be paying for a phone that really doesn't work? So I take it to the AT&T store. The one that I'm writing this review about. I go in and he tells me there's absolute nothing they could do. He proceeds to patronize me by telling me if there was an issue with the phone I should have know by the 14 day trial period. He proceeds to count the days from when I bought the phone to the present calendar day IN FRONT OF ME. Eventually I get the point, but it was just straight up rude how he was counting. He then tells me my options with insurance but I still can't get past the fact that he literally counted the days in front of me like I was the biggest bonehead to walk into the store that day. Feeling defeated I told him I wasn't interested in filing with insurance because I got a lemon last time I went thru that. As if to cover his own ass he says "we have no control over the insurance phones it's a different company". I'm thinking, well why am I paying you guys... I leave with my problem completely unresolved Bottom line: this store takes advantage of people and the fact that they don't have any part in the phone business. IMO you're better off just going to Apple if you want an IPhone at least they have some control over the product. AT&T are just sneaky middlemen. ps. Everything they sell in there as phone accessories is about 300% overpriced. Buy literally anywhere else but there. read more

Phew, I got to sign in before the internet went out, which it is right now. What a surprise! We use AT&T for our internet at home and it's soooo terrible. They have sent technicians over several times now, but the service remains terrible. Goes in and out all the time. Oh, there, it's out again. The router is just in front of me and I see red lights flashing on and off. If you can't provide the service then don't offer it! I'll wait till it comes back on to submit this then. The store manager, Mike, was top notch! We purchased 2 new phones from him. He took his time to explain every detail of our contract, the billing, and how to navigate through our phones. DSL SERVICE SUCKED. signed up for something online and had to call every month to get a bill adjusted. and when I called to cancel - they were either going to charge me the high price or they were going to charge a cancellation fee. read more

Salesperson Erick is a lair and tries to manipulate patrons. I transferred my cell phoneline from a monthly plan to a prepaid account. I was offered DirectTV NOW and I specifically asked if my credit would be ran for this service and he said "NO". However, he later asked for my SSN, but obviously I questioned his request and he gave me a bullshit response. I never provided my SSN, but he asked for Identification and scanned my CT Driver's License and somehow he was still able to retrieve my credit profile. I called AT&T prompty and spoke to a Supervisor. I was told that my phone call was recorded and it was being forwarded to the Store Manager. 24 hours has past and I haven't heard anything again. I made a appointment to bring my old phone in to get all my information transferred to my new phone but when I arrived at this store location i wasn't greated with friendliness and when I informed the sales person on why I was there he just looked at me like he didn't understand me. Moving forward: the young man took both my phones and acted like he was transfering all my stuff over but come to find out all he did was transfer my phone numbers (which was on my sim card) over. I lost a lot of photos I can never get back and notes that are forever lost. I asked my two sales guys where they were and was told that all my information wasn't finish being transferred....then they looked at each other and laughed (so unprofessional)....I don't recommend bringing anything to this store location to get anything done on your phone. I am not really an AT&T kinda girl but the boyfriends phone broke and we needed to take a trip to see if he could get an early upgrade... Apparently not. The phones are such a ridiculous price unless you get the 2 year contract with it. I mean really, $500 for a phone! Ugh! Anyway, the only reason why I gave them three stars instead of zero is because the lady that helped us suggest that my bf just get a "go phone" for the time being until his upgrade came around in three months. read more

My troubles started a year ago and have not ended and cost me $$$. If you wish to read on, the story is told. If not, go to another provider. Everyone in the store only cares about sales; mobile, directv or Uverse. It began last Dec-2015 when we bought 2-iPhones for the family sharing plan and the promo was to get an Android Tablet for $1 or iPad for $99. We got the android tablet. We signed-up for Directv as well in December to bundle the savings and set an install date. I called Directv to get more information on the contract but the subscribers thru ATT are handled "differently" as the contract is owned by ATT. When asking ATT again about the contract programming/installation details, guess what, they did not know anything about that process; "Call Directv". Another cat & mouse routine. (No one seems to know anything!) Cancelled that too! After the phones were added the next bill was not received until February which we found the tablet was added to the wireless @ $10/monthy plus activation. We went to the store to return the tablet and have the wireless cancelled. The tablet was free to keep as part of the promotion. Months later, there was an account problem, then a f$175 bill came for breach of contract. We returned to the store and they looked into it but could not help and we needed to call customer service. Twice during the year, we were sent to collection for not paying the $175 contract fee that was assured as cleared, but not. Credit was damaged. I actually went to the store to complain. It didn't even phase them and walked away while in the store! To date, we needed to add another phone for my son. The phone could not be added as the account was blocked. Again, needed to find out why and after 3-hr on the phone, we reluctantly payed the delinquent $175 contract fee (which was based on their mis-communication/mis-direction) , still had trouble in the store when adding the line. I do not understand why when adding another line to increase the billing (profit), they blocked the changes. No one in the store was helpful but still wanted to push the promotions. The only reason we remain is until the phones are paid. (The most recent was bought elsewhere). At our earliest opportunity, we are ditching them! read more

This particular AT&T store in Hamden has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I brought a phone that needed servicing and when I walked in and started talking to one of the employees he didn't even turn his eyes from the t.v. (for like a minute) when he started talking. I was given false information on phone insurance I opted to get (I'm finding it's false a year later). I was told with a monthly $10 fee that if anything happened to my phone it would get replaced. No one ever told me about a $200 deductible! My wife went in a couple weeks ago because her older iphone wasn't working properly and can't be fixed. She was told she would "just have to deal with it" until her contract was up. They gave no recommendations or suggestions. I repeat, this is the worst store of any store in any category that I've ever been to! read more

Mine was a bad experience from the start. I ordered an iPhone 5s and an iPhone 5c at AT&T.com on the first day of availability. After seeing backorder status for over five weeks, and facing an expiration date on the price that I received from gazelle.com for my old iPhone 4S, I decided to activate an iPhone 3GS that I had used previously to tide me over. I went to my local AT&T store to have a Sim card installed in the old 3GS, and in doing so the salesperson wiped out my order for the new phones completely. Now after five weeks of waiting I have to start all over again? No response from the salesperson at the AT&T store after numerous emails and telephone messages. Very poor customer service, very poor technical expertise! I called and visited AT&T's North Haven Connecticut store and received prompt service, received my new phones within a day or so and was completely satisfied with the entire deal. I will drive right by this Hamden AT&T store to do my future business at the North Haven store. read more
