If I could give a zero star I would. This store has a bunch of unprofessional, rude people working for them. They charged me for a phone and never ordered it. They were unable to get me my phone and said I did not qualify for it and gave me the run around. It was there lack of care that they were not able to get the phone because I went home and ordered it. Sandy R. was not empathetic nor did she aplogize for the mistake. She would not give me her ID number. To make matters worse their store manager Lindsey would not return my phone calls. I made 4 phone calls. Such an unprofessional team. I went into the AT&T store knowing exactly what I wanted. I did not get the name of the agent but someone else walked in after me and the agent ignored me and went to the other customer, even after the other customer said that I had been there first. This annoyed me. When he was finished with the other customer the agent asked me what I wanted and I told him I wanted to upgrade my iPhone to the newest one. When he heard that, get asked another agent to help me instead doing it himself. The new agent told me the process and arranged for me to receive the new phone via delivery and I would have 30 days to turn in my old phone. I left still feeling annoyed at the first agent. A few days later I received my new iPhone and was quite pleased. After a few days I brought my old iPhone in for the rebate and they deleted my data and said my rebate will be credited to the monthly bill. I was pleased overall but I was still annoyed by the agent who ignored me from the previous trip to the store. read more

I've come here a total of 4 times now and every time they are understaffed. You wait for an hr on the phone, give up and come in person to do the same. I've waited for 45 minutes so far and a second employee was supposed to be here almost 10 minutes ago now. I don't blame the staff, but this is horrible and terrible customer service that you have one employee opening and are always under staffed. 5 ppl have walked out since I've been waiting and I'm about to do the same. I feel bad for the employees here because they are at a loss at to what they can do. There is a women here that's been here for an hour since they opened to find they can't be assisted. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Every since I got an account, May 2023, I've had nothing but difficulties with their customer services. They never answer their phones resulting me to talk to their over all at&t customer services. Who too have no clue what they are doing. Customer services said they can't fix my charges problem, only the store manager can. This store never has a manager on site for me to dispute charges I have falsely been charged. The service at this location is perfectly fine. The problem is that there just isn't enough of it. During the busy holiday season prime shopping hours, there are typically only two employees running the show, perhaps three if you are lucky. I've had to visit here twice within the past couple of weeks to upgrade my phone and also another family member's. For both visits, we had to wait over an hour just to do a simple pickup. Our phones were already preordered, so we didn't really need to talk to any representatives, but they still made us wait. Worst of all, in the email instructions, AT&T is supposed to have some sort of "curbside pickup," but for some reason, this function is completely disabled at this particular branch. It is likely due to the aforementioned lack of staff. I understand that we are in a pandemic, and retail shops need to cut back on the amount of workers, but aren't the carriers still making money hand over fist? People still need cell service, don't they? The only reason we came to this store is because it was assigned to us, as it is the closest geographically. We could have had the phones delivered, but elected not to due to possible theft. If I had to do it all over again, I would just take my chances with the delivery instead. read more

Workers here have terrible customer service, are incompetent and are unethical. They will tack on fees even when you've declined the new phone insurance and future early upgrade fees. I went in December to upgrade my iPhone 7. The sales associate and store manager said they couldn't help me because the name on my government Real ID did not match their records of my phone number. I'm under my partner's account. I brought my laptop just in case of a problem, so I logged in and showed them that my name was correct. They kept telling me my name didn't exactly match theirs because my Real ID was missing the Mrs... I almost lost my cool. I explained to them that Mrs. is a title used for the sake of formality. We went back and forth about this, and essentially, the store manager told me they could not help me if my name did not precisely match what was on their tablet because they'd get in trouble. At this moment, I should have just walked away... They told me they could help me if I gave them the PIN for the account, so that's what we did. I used my free upgrade on the iPhone 15, which I was eligible for. They tried to sell the insurance for my phone and future early upgrade fees. I declined them all, but they still tacked on the fees! I had to call AT&T to remove it, and the rep who helped me told me that the store had added them on without telling me. I told the rep I knew because I had my receipt to prove I did not consent to the additional fees. I regret giving this store my business. read more

2022 Update - My husband and I were helped by an employee named Jesus. We came in the store to inquire about an upgrade and he was very helpful in explaining all the options. In the end my husband upgraded his phone, and also got a good deal for trading the old phone in under a promotion. They seem to have a limited selection of accessories for phones at this location but its always a good idea to get a case before getting a new phone. Once all was said and done, the employee told us to come back in case my husband has problems with his phone. So far he is liking it. read more

We got Baited & Switched here! We went in to trade-in a phone and got some information from the shift manager. We were lead to believe the trade-in value would be a couple hundred dollars worth. After doing the transaction, we decided to stay to do the data swap and trade-in the phone while in store (even though they encouraged us to do it at home). As we were ready to complete the trade-in, we had found out our trade-in value was only $30 (later research proved that no trade-in value was at the value he lead us to think). When my husband got upset about this, the manager called out from across the room further escalating the situation and said that he never promised the amount he talked about, but they also made no effort to verify the amount the phone was before we bought it; therefore, letting us believe the amount was what he baited us for. This is our second run in with this location. A year ago, we went in and made some adjustments to our account. We verified with the sales rep what our bill amount was multiple times. When we got our next bill, we noticed it was substantially larger than what we were told. In speaking to AT&T, they said they didn't include the fees as being a part of that number. read more

Let me start off by saying I have been an A T &T customer since they were GTE. I wanted to upgrade my phones and take advantage of whatever offers I could. My initial contact was with Giselle, she very attentive and sincere in wanting to provide me with good service. Unfortunately for me, she had to defer me to one of the managers (didnt catch her name) who basically told me to "Go Phuck Myself", her exact words were "Here is the quote, its your choice, take it or leave it." The manager I met today, Jose, was argumentative and implied that I was trying to be a thief. He also violated California labor laws by telling his employee that was working with me that she could "clock out now and go later." He didn't let her get the over time and lost her the commission by throwing me out because when I corrected him about his man-splaning, he kicked me out. This place has the worst customer service. I've been in a few times and in 2 out of 3 of my visits I was never greeted or approached and sat waiting for someone to help me. (I have gone once where a nice young girl helped me) This last time I sat for at least 10 minutes being ignored by the staff. I asked the other girl waiting if she had approached yet and she said no. Even if you are with a customer you let the others know you'll be with them as soon as possible. I eventually left and went to the Union City location where I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and in and out in 20 minutes. read more

I ended up going to two AT&T stores in the area yesterday. I went to the Castro Valley to find there is only one employee working with several customers inside the shop. I saw only three phones and several walls with empty display shelving. I called the Hayward shop to find out there were at least two employees and they were open until 8 o'clock rather than 6 like Castro Valley. So I beat the rush hour traffic and drove over. Next time you enter at AT&T, notice how barren the store is. It is like they're selling phone covers in these huge shops with hardly any phones on display. I suppose people are stealing them and now they're putting them in the back. There's no pictures and nothing to do while you're waiting for a rep to help you. When I finally did get some help and access to the iPhones, all three of the newest phones were out of battery. So I couldn't even look at them until they were put plugged in. It appears they only had one plug in the store. I mean what the heck? I pay $40 after a five dollar discount for automatic withdrawal from my checking account. I pre-pay for I think it's two or five gig of data every month. This is the service where are you get a very good deal but it's designed to have subpar customer service when once you get dialed in, you really don't need customer service so I'm OK with that. Nevertheless, I was told that I cannot buy a phone out right from this store and that if I wanted to get a phone from the store, the only way to do it is to start to pay $75 a month for the same amount of usage or unlimited and then pay $45 a month for the phone until it's paid off. Well that doesn't sound very good does it? This is all because I'm a prepaid customer. Why, I don't know. What I did find out is that I'm allowed to bring in a phone that I purchased at another store and then it would be set up for me. The new naïve girl could not really answer questions and the supervisor got pissed at me for being pissed about not being able to buy a phone. I admit, I could've been nicer. So I called up the 800-number for Apple on the way out the door and talked to an iPhone customer service rep. She was great and she told me that I can go to Walmart which is way easier than going to an iPhone store. So if you're in the market for an iPhone, skip the AT&T customer service reps at the store of squalor with hardly any phones anyway and they're not even charged up. Instead, call up the app of customer service and get all your questions answered. Plus there's videos on the website then you can make an educated decision about your iPhone, buy it at Walmart to avoid shipping problems, bring it in to AT&T and get it set up. I call ahead of time to see if there's only one rep and several customers in your store. If there is you'll be waiting in line to get the help. I wonder if Walmart can set it up for you. I'll find out myself when I get there. That's my tip for you, AT&T customers. AT&T has gotten too big for its britches and this is just another example of what's happening. If I can tip you off with anything, if you are a prepaid customer and you need a new phone, you're gonna need to buy it out right from somebody else and bring it in to save you a good deal. They will not sell you just the phone if you are a prepaid. read more

I don't know how or why AT&T is keeping this store around. They had one rep working there, so I had to wait until he was done with three other people before he could even greet me. I wouldn't mind if there were actually phones to look at but a lot of their phones are missing from display, which makes it seem like AT&T is going out of business. AT&T has the worst service rep I have ever delt with. My business has been with AT&T for 18 years. I called them to get assistance during Covid. The rep. told me of a wireless plan to get 4 free phones if I join them I was so happy. Then the AT&T sells representive signed me up and pulled my credit report only then to tell me that the plan was no longer being offered. I then spoke to the "Office of the President" and they would not honor the deal after pulling my credit! I am closing my accounts I could use the help now more then ever during covid. I had a simple need (new sim card for new phone - the one from my old phone was too big). A rep took me right away, created a new sim card with no fuss (the usual security stuff was not a hassle and nice to see because it insured no one could steal my number). I also needed a tool to open the sim card slot (my refurbished phone didn't come with one) and she gave me one without charge. I was exceptionally pleased with the pleasant, efficient service. A simple need, a simple and very quick fix. Can't ask for any more than that. read more

I stopped at the At&t store to purchase a new phone. I have been a AT&T customer for 10 plus years. When I arrived there were three other customers in the store and two employees. A female employee was working with two ladies, there seemed to be a mix up. The female directed the customers to a gentleman. This individual clearly has not been trained on customer service and was rude to the customer before hearing their concern. While customer communicated their concerns, he failed to make eye contact, body language and tone were unprofessional. He was rude to the individual who came to translate for the older women. He refused to give the women contact information for customer service or district manager when she asked. She asked because of how he was communicating and acting. While the female employee stood, listened and watched. She seemed surprised by the interaction and didn't move on to the other customers. I did not buy a phone from this location due to their treatment of customers, although I was not directly affected it is the principal. I recommend going to another location, even though it's not convenient! read more

My wife went to this Store Location in Hayward on A street, to get help with her IPhone 14 which we purchased from AT&T, she couldn't make or receive calls. This was her second attempt to get help from this location. A young man who called himself Mendez, which at the time was doing some some type of inventory on the store computer. He didn't made eye contact with her nor did he ask her to have a seat, just left her standing, and continued to keep working on the computer, told her you need to go to apple. Basically dismissed her, with no personal customer Service attendance, like she didn't matter being very rude. That is not customer service, so I'm her husband and I called the store location, asked to speak with the Manager, the person who answered the Phone said his name was Jose Rodriquez, and he was the Store Manager, and how could he help me. I explained to him what my wife had just experienced at his store, he said oh yeah they tried to help her, but she needs to go to apple. First thing he lied, my wife recognized the voice, said he was the same person that she spoke to in the store. When I confronted him on this, and asked him could I have the number of the District or Regional Manager's number, Mr. Rodriquez told me NO, and then proceeded to hang the Phone up in my face. You spend $1500 for a phone, and then can't get good quality customer service from someone who claims to be a representative of AT&T. I will take my Business to Apple where I will probably get professional quality help, but I will also be contacting Cooperate Headquarters for AT&T to report this Store and this person for their poor customer service, and lack of care, at the AT&T Store Located in Hayward CA on A Street, I am very disappointed and upset. read more

Good luck getting ahold of anyone here or in union city. Can I just say I have been on the phone for TWO hours with AT&T customer service and trying to call the local stores. Aside from being clicked on, spoken to rudely, a rep said "no you can not have a manager" and I asked what kind of customer service does AT&T train her for, it's as if they enjoy having a bad reputation. Every rep has been ONE RACE, where's the diversity are u on a budget and low paying this race for the crappy customer service.. it just seems like they are not even wanting to assist. For me to have found a lost phone and try to do the right thing by asking how to turn it in and be spoken to, clicked on again and again and told that I can have a manager but then never given one. AT&T is by far 1000% the worst cellular provider I have ever even dealt with. When I found out there was an ATT store opening up near me I was elated. I could have a store conveniently located to me, with easy parking and what appeared to be never to be busy inside. Score! Oh how I wish those warm fuzzy feelings still were there after finally taking the plunge and visiting this afternoon. We were greeted at the door and immediately I was concerned why there was no one inside. On a Sunday, the ATT store was empty? Was this my lucky day?! Apparently not.. As within minutes of meeting Alex, I realized the true reason why this place has all 1 stars and no business. How Alex may have felt he was being funny, his attitude was super demeaning, unprofessional and flat out rude, cutting my questions short with his smirk comments. Do you have questions? Forget getting them answered here. You'll get a sarcastic answer that leaves your blood boiling. What's more irritating is they have smart ass comments that leave you appalled. As a customer, I'm entitled to ask as many questions as I desire before forking over $750 to you for a simple upgrade. Save yourself the high bold pressure and keep on driving when you pass by. My experience at this AT&T store was appalling. I am writing this review particularly about one employee, named Kyle. This little boy was very unhelpful and desperately needs training in his customer service skills. Kyle, if you don't like serving customers, you should find a different job. My phone was stolen. I am a teacher and have a lot on my plate this time of year. I ask Kyle what my options are, he provides a cursory explanation making it obvious that he just wants to go back to bullshitting around on facebook while he is supposed to be doing his job. Another employee told Kyle about one way that he could help my situation, but he refused to offer me the help and instead shooed me along. You are better off waiting on the phone or figuring out your issue on line than wasting your time going into this store. read more

I purchased my iPhone 12 Pro Max on 3/21 & I was right away helped out by Giselle. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by a different employee and Giselle called me up right away. This store lacks basic customer service. And you can tell since this location is rated two stars. Last time I went to this location they messed up my dads service and he had to get a new number. The guy greeted everyone who walked in in a monotone voice but I was ignored for a long time. Two people were helped before me and the staff walked up to them not asking who was next. In my experience att is more organized and signs you in so that they help you according to when you showed up. DO NOT COME HERE!!!! very poor customer service and workers do not know how to handle a frustrated customer. An employee by the name of Joey scammed my father. Also, he promised my father all sorts of service for a hundred dollar and some change and I knew it was too good to be true. They just saw a 50 year old man and manipulated him. I call the store 11/2/19 and spoke to a very confused young man that did not know how to handle a customer. He stated that he was with a customer and was not able to help me at the moment and to come in store. I said to him let me speak to your supervisor and he said he's not around I'm the only one in the store and Joey doesn't not work here anymore.
