I'm giving it one star but I wouldn't even do that if I could. Service is horrible. Bought four phones last month, it was buy one, get one free special. The representative at the store DID NOT tell me I had to activate 2 new lines to get the deal so now I am paying for 3 phones instead of 2! I'm out over $1000!!! And they at the store won't do anything about it and neither will ATT. The rep at the store suggested I open the new line and pay $35 a month instead so that way I will get the deal I was supposed to, and how does that solve the problem? Then I just pay att $35 for two years for nothing!!! They called that a solution!! Called ATT also - they won't do anything either. ATT IS A RIP OFF AND SO IS THIS STORE. I'm out $1000 and this office where I got the phones won't do nothing and neither will ATT. Don't go ATT!!!!! Also, I know the rep or the store will respond that they told me about having to open the 2 extra lines in order to get the deal, but the REP DID NOT TELL ME THAT cuz otherwise I would have said no - I don't need 5 lines and I am not going to pay for something I don't need!!!! And if that was the case that I had to open 2 lines to get the deal, then why did she only open one new line rather than the two???!!! SUCH A RIP OFF!! Also, when I called ATT, I spoke with the "floor manager" - she wouldn't let me speak with anyone above her. Then she put me on hold and never came back on. ATT IS HORRIBLE!!! However the store responds to this review, don't believe them. They are 100% wrong in this situation and they ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX IT. NOW I AM OUT OVER $1000!!!!!! Well, iPhone4s are no longer in short supply. But you know what is? Competent AT&T reps -- these are far and few between. Before being helped by Kevin T from the McArthy store, I went through our Corp dedicated AT&T rep (useless), website (broken), and another SJ retail store. I warily hit up this one, and boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Not only did Kevin handle my complex Corporate and Personal plan transactions, he also pointed out deals that I was missing in my own research. Honestly, I hadn't planned on getting an iPhone4 that evening. But I figured I'd better get it done when I have an articulate and very capable rep in front of me. So I moved two lines from T-Mobile, switched my Corp device, and bought two iP4s. Give Kevin a raise, he deserves it. read more

One of the worst store experiences I have ever had. This is a busy store and completely mismanaged. Multiple agents help out single customers leaving others waiting. One agent at the door perfoming the duties of welcoming customers and entering their information. I had to wait 2 hrs to get a new sim card. These guys should learn from the adjacent Dish Dash on how to manage a continuous influx of people. They try to be friendly but I believe I would rather work with someone who is quick and to the point. read more

I've had some bad experiences here in the past, so I was a little skeptical on coming back. When I approached the door, a women opened the door for me and immediately asked what brought me. Told her briefly what I wanted- and she was ready to help! She sat me down, introduced herself, and made small talk. Christina, was hands down the best rep I've encountered her in a long time. She engaged in conversation and was very helpful in explaining things. She was thorough, patient, and well educated on product knowledge. I came into the store today to add a line on my account. I had a phone with Verizon already and needed to have ALL the photos and contacts transferred to my new phone. Quang is the sales person that helped me. He specifically told me that all my photos and contacts will transfer once completed. He asked me several times if he should delete everything on my old phone, after I felt confident that all my info will be transferred successfully I said ok. After my phone was deleted I found out that ALL my photos were not transferred and I lost a good portion of them. I was so irritated and they offered NOTHING for compensation besides "i'm sorry" Very poor customer service and not a good start with AT & T read more

The Milpitas store is AWESOME..We have been struggling to get an Issue resolve related to the transfer of one account to another for past 2 months in an AT&T store Sanjose /steven greeks which is too bad,waste of time going to sanjose AT & T store. Update - just wanted to add Raj and Justin to the review - Justin instantly fixed some UVerse issues and got us a new remote and set-top box that busted without having to fight with the automated phone service, and Raj helped out with general UVerse flakiness. So... 10 minutes to drive here, 10 minutes to solve a problem, 10 minutes to drive home - that's about half the time it would take to fix over the phone! Also - I have been fighting with flaky UVerse for months now. I talked to a LOT of service people and phone tech support, and the only person that did anything useful was technician Rafael - he thought the setup was strange (DSL to house, balun to cable, diplexer to / from modem via cable run.) He switched it to a spare twisted pair in the house wiring and.... FIXED!!! Been in here several times for various phone upgrades, UVerse service, etc. Honestly I've always been satisfied, and never felt BS'ed. I'm writing this review because of how nicely Ronnell helped me with my flaky brand new IPhone. The thing shut itself off within a couple of hours of getting it, then again over night. E-mailed him, and he actually responded with useful information! When it flaked one more time, I came right in and Ronnell swapped it for a new one that works just fine now, installed the case and wiped the data from the old one in front of me. Overall, service in this store is the opposite of that provided by the knuckleheads at Fry's. I'll buy my next gadget here for sure. read more

Went to just get a sim as phone is lost ... had to wait 1 hour with just 4 people before me ... they cannot estimate how much time it will take to server so you can just grab the lunch in 10 mins. Height of it .. which prompted me to write the review .. they cancelled my data plan ..So just for changing sim my unlimited data plan gone. As they do not offer it anymore I am out of data for 15 days at least ... pathetic service :( read more

I really thought that AT&T was going to be better than Comcast but they are exactly the same! I complained about my bill last month and instead of helping, my mobile phone bill is exactly twice as much as it usually is and my tv/internet/phone bill went up $28.00 in just one month. Everyone understands and comiserates but no one can do anything. They are the only utility that I have that I can't budget for because the bills are different every month! I actually have to summon strength to visit the store or, worse, yet, call on the phone. They tell you not to talk to whomever answers the phone but to ask for someone in "customer loyalty" or "retention". When you do that, they put you on terminal hold until you hang up. I know because I tried 3 times today and they did it to me 3 times today! I am on a fixed income and I have no idea where I am going to get the extra $100.00 that they are charging me this month for prorated charges. I hate AT&T but I also hate Comcast so where can you go? Why do they do this to people? Do the customer service people actually enjoy talking to upset/angry people every month? Did I mention that I hate AT&T? read more

It is sad to say when AT & T makes money only by charging people $5.00 to make a payment in person with cash with a customer service representative. If you pay the machine, it will not take exact change, what are they doing with all the excess cash they collect, it like a bank holding your money for 30 or more extra days. Poor customer service all the way around. The only time these young people and others who have to support such unpersonal customer service is by charging their customers for service which is free everywhere else. They only want your money for new phone not for payments. Disgusting. Macy's, Nordstorms, Sears, Kohls, JC Penneys all take payments with out charging the customer. This is the proper customer service. Not some machine that is automated. $5.00 is too much for such service not a penny should be charged when paying on an account. We Are the customer and we pay their salaries. Not just their dumb commission. For most of them they have no real knowledge of the different varieties of phones and abilities of the phone. I just visited this AT&T store in Milpitas at McCarthy Ranch and was very disappointed with the service. A sales person named Rommel received me as soon as I walked in. He said hello and shook my hand with extremely SWEATY hands, yuk! He then could not explain coherently then asked me to sit at a table with him so he could break it down for me on the iPad he was holding. I asked him to let me see what he was talking about. He reluctantly showed me the iPad. I did not like his disposition. He was not helpful. I do not think I will be retuning for service. I do need to purchase a new phone. This AT&T store provides terrible service, I did not make an appointment earlier so they registered me for a walk-in appointment. I waited for an hour and still didn't get help by any of the staffs there. As I was observing there were over thirty customers waiting and over ten AT&T staffs, I only see four of the staffs were helping customers, the rest of the useless AT&T staffs were running around the store like a bunch of monkeys. So I went up to the staff to express my frustration and he told me I should make an appointment instead of just walk-in. So I told the staff I am taking my business elsewhere and rushed out the store, never come back again. read more

Horrible service, waited well over 30 mins. The store was not busy and employees were chatting with each other or on their phones. After the wait when I was finally helped they did resolve my issue with a microcell. Tried to up sale me on the home security system. It seemed like a good deal and I was told in order to lock into the promotional price I had to place a hold on my cc. Not a problem, my husband was away on business so I wanted to further discuss this with him. Called him right after I left the store because I wasn't able to get a hold of him while in the store. After doing research we decided that the at&t home security system was not for us and wanted to go with another company and purchase a firearm instead. Called the store manager back same day and asked to cancel the hold, she told me she would call me back to confirm cancellation. This was Tuesday, it's now Saturday and no returned call. Have called back and left voicemails. I even called corporate and they said in order for me to get my money back I would have to go back to the store and that they were only able to cancel the install appointment. I understand that work can be busy but if you state to a customer you will cancel the services they do not want, you should at least call back within 48 hours or have a colleague call back. Very aggressive sales tactics with misinformation to try to get you to sign up for services. On top of all this the "hold" was actually signing up and they ran a credit check without my permission I later found out by speaking to the corporate customer service agent. Beware of the up sale! I understand trying to reach sales goals but this is a bit unethical and poor business practice. read more

We went in to open a new account and have an associate name Andy help us a few days ago. He was friendly and helpful but not very knowledgeable. Either that or he was just trying to make a sale by hiding information. 1. We asked very point blank about any or all fees and charges and he said there were none for what we wanted to do then ten mins later, he said "oh yeah there are two fees associated with that" 2. We talked to the manager, Joey or something, who then said we misunderstood the terms, then he brushed it off as if we're ignorant consumers 3. Andy said we should get the new 669 phone number instead of a recycled 408 number so we don't get calls from people who used to own the number. We changed to a 669 number and not only 2 days later got a call from someone asking for someone else that had this number. So even when we expressed concerns about having a recycled number, he assured this number is new and not used but that obviously isn't true. 4. Andy told us that if we traded in our old phone we get $200 credit towards our phone bill. We just need to wipe our old phones clean. Right after we did that and took our phone back in, we were told our phone plan didn't qualify for the credit at another store with another associate. He said Andy didn't read the full terms. Are you kidding?! We completely wiped our phone clean and now we don't qualify?! We had a very aggravating experience over the span of 3-4 days with all this nonsense that started from one trip into AT&T because of one associate. If we were to ever have to go back into an AT&T store, it would not be with this one. read more

I have been a customer of at&t for 10 years and have had few issues. I am unemployed at the moment and I recently broke my phone and when I went to get a new phone, I asked if the upgrade charge could be waived just this once, which they refused. I understand that they have to charge that for a reason, but I had been a good customer with no issues (and no prior requests for discounts) and was disappointed they were unwilling to help me out once in the long years of paying them a good amount of money. Maybe I'm being unfair but I think I will switch carriers after the next contract is up. read more

Don't be fooled by the high yelp reviews here! Either the reviews are old or they paid people to write good reviews for them. I came here 3 times and each time we waited for at least 2 hours. By the time it was our turn, we were all super tired. We just wanted to get our plans and leave but the representative kept trying to get us buy their accessories. I insisted that we didn't want to but she wouldn't shut up. If you come here, expect to spend at least 5 hours! The last time we came was to get a new SIM card because we forgot to get it the day before when we opened our plan (since I switched from Samsung to iphone). The representative from before said we would have to wait again, which would take another 2hrs. Not sure why people came here. Probably because of the reviews. I was dumb enough to come here 3 times. Not only did she answer our questions with all the knowledge she's accumulated over 6+ years of being in the field, she provided us with links to free ringtones and gave us an extra screen protector they had lying around in the back room for the phone. You know how some representatives can be initially deceptively nice but once you ask them beyond a certain number of questions or take longer than usual, they go into bitch mode? Not Jenny. This girl has so much patience and tolerance, and I commend her for that and her ability to go above and beyond to ensure that AT&T customers receive nothing but the best customer service and plan, including additional discounts. read more

The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because I made an appointment online the day before and they saw me within 15 min of my appointment on a Saturday afternoon. After that it was all downhill. They are clearly pushing their "Next" program, which I did not want. I was ready to buy 2 phones with the service plan and the sales manager had to make an appearance to try to sell me on the "Next" program. He got the paper, made his chart and tried to show me how great it was and I said 3 times I didn't want it. He basically said it was stupid not to do it so I left and went to Verizon and bought two new phones, a 2 year contract and a bunch of accessories. Wow. read more

This AT&T store I think has the best customer service. I haven't been in that many but I love this location! I came here twice in search of a new plan after leaving verizon. Of course, i wanted an iPhone and so did my fiance so we headed over in the hopes of getting a phone bill that wasn't ridiculous. The first time we went, a woman gave us an accurate quote and looked up our employment company to see if we got any monthly discounts. My job ended up getting the best discount so we came back a week later when we were sure we had enough money and opened our plan. Within 30 minutes, we got our plan, our phones, and the guy even put on our protective screens and cases for us. I came back with questions just yesterday evening and the guy we had answered all my questions and I was able to go online and manage my account with ease. I love this AT&T location! I came here 3 times, had 3 different employees help me, and they were all wonderful! read more

I am so disappointed in the customer service here. We came in on a Monday and there were only two other customers there when we came in and a bunch of employees just sitting around on their phone. We let one of the employees know we were there to upgrade our phone and wanted to look around. By accident we set the alarm off on a phone and not one of the employees looked up to let us know they would turn off the alarm. I swear they just acted like they didn't even hear it. I made eye contact with a few customers who just laughed nervously because no one was helping. I almost lost my shit and walked out. Finally after what seemed like 3 straight minutes I said "umm is anyone going to help us?!" a guy came strolling up to turn it off. By then we had figured out which phone we wanted and I just wanted to get out of there quick but the guy who originally greeted us was busy and there were four other workers just chilling do nothing. We stood in the middle of the place waiting for someone to come up to us and not one of them looked up. I have very limited patience for bad customer service when things are slow. So I was two seconds away from walking out until my bf got Jasmines attention. She was less than pleasant toward us. So we just walked out. I'm never going back to that place. read more

Had to go back to day to get the new Apple iPhone GS. The store was crowded and the waiting list to be helped was long, but as always, we put our name on the list and specified Jenny Pham as the person we wanted to help us. As always, Jenny never disappoints us. Our questions never go unanswered. She knows her 'stuff'. She doesn't need to get help or advice from anyone else there, though while she is helping you, other salespeople go to her for help or advice. If you want to buy a phone, upgrade your phone or service, or buy an accessory and you are committed to AT&T like we are, you can go to any AT&T store and get treated well (or bad), but no matter which store you go to, they all sell the same AT&T products.
