I have no idea what has happened, or if management has changed. 3/4 of the employees working were completely unprofessional and messed around like it was a school yard. Mt wife was originally told that the trade in value for her phone would be $300 and she decided to purchase a phone. Today she turned in her old phone and was told that the original trade in would be $120. The gentleman who helped her just pointed at the paper instead of explaining what happened. I walked into the Modesto store on Sisk Avenue about 2 or 3 months ago to see what kinds of alternatives AT&T Mobile offered to my existing service. I was told about the availability of an unlimited talk, text, and data plan for all 4 of my lines that would equal $140 to $150 per month. I also had just had home internet installed from AT&T. I was then asked by one of the store managers if I owned a business and I replied that I did in fact own a small home-based business. She replied that I could have a plan with the same price, roughly, if I signed up for a business plan, but I would have more hotspot bandwidth. I confirmed that by "same price", we were talking about a price of around $150 per month. She replied, "yes". I went back a few days later and signed up. I was told that there would be some additional fees, but those fees would be offset by discounts so that, in the end, I would receive the quoted rate of around $150. Now, in my mind, "around $150" might mean anywhere between $145 and $155, which would include the additional fees and taxes (the additional fees were always included in my restatement of the final price estimate and their subsequent confirmations). Shortly after signing up, I started getting fee notices of much higher amounts. I was concerned about this issue so I walked into the same store to confirm that I would end up receiving my quoted price. I was assured by another manager and another salesperson, the salesperson whom I actually met first during my original visit, that I should not worry because, in the end, when all credits and discounts were applied, I would be charged my quoted price of around $150. Please bear in mind that at all times, I would restate the $150 price and they would agree that I was correct in that I would receive this price in the end. This representation was made by two different managers and two different salespeople. In the end, during my first billing month, after all credits and discounts were applied I was charged $327 for the first month with a rate of $173 for future months. Not even close to "around $150!" Wow! As I pointed out to AT&T Business Mobility Customer Service via telephone last week, this amounted to either a repeated and willful misrepresentation of material facts by store personnel. AND / OR poor training by AT&T of its store management and salespeople. Either way, I was overcharged at least $150, if not $200. The customer service rep I spoke with via telephone resolved the issue going forward, even providing me with a $40 credit on my current charges, but said she could not credit me for the original overcharge. This place has incredibly long wait times. They told me it was gonna be 45 minutes to wait. There are literally less than 10 people in this place. Some manager looking guy with the blazer and an AT&T T-shirt on under it is literally walking around and doing nothing while everybody waits and watches him. Oy. Why does being in this AT&T store make me feel like I'm in a used car lot? My mom needed a new charger for her dinosaur phone. I have tried several times to get her to upgrade. I even succeeded once in actually getting her to an AT&T store to look at some new models. But she loves the one that she has, & refuses to give it up. Since she did give birth to me & all, I have to respect her decision. So, the charger. We walked in. The door greeter asked what we needed, & said it would be a bit of a wait. There were 3 people "in line" ahead of us, so 15 or 20 minutes. I reiterated that we just needed to buy a charger; that we didn't have or need any phone service related issues. "You'll still have to wait, all the reps are w a customer." It ended up being not quite 15 minutes, but the fact that management doesn't have a "cashier" available for customers that are just picking a prepackaged item off of the wall & paying for it is straight up ridiculous. Throwing us into the shuffle w people that are buying/upgrading phones or changing phone plans, etc? Ridiculous. The best part? It was the wrong charger. The IPhone Upgrade Nightmare! Recently, during another HOTTER THAN HELL CENTRAL VALLEY SUMMER DAY, I decided that it was time to finally cave in and upgrade my trusty BLACK 3GS Iphone to the 4 (and not wait forever for the mysterious 5) and started calling around the local AT&T store for a BLACK one. I could not do this simple act on-line because I wanted to keep my old plan & get a BLACK 32 GB one. Only WHITE was available on-line. I first called ahead to two other AT&T stores and they both claimed to have the BLACK one in stock. So after work I went to the closest one on McHenry Ave. and guess what? They acted like it was a mystery that someone claimed they had BLACK ones. The vulture of a sales guy kept looking in the stock room and kept asking others to look too to see if they had a BLACK one. Almost every single time he came to update me on the non-progress of finding what I wanted he kept pulling out his damned WHITE Iphone and telling me how glorious the WHITE one was. He did this at least a dozen times and it both maddening & hilarious at the same time. At various times he claimed, the following: The WHITE one is cooler. The WHITE one can be covered in a BLACK case and can be even cooler. The WHITE one is in stock. The WHITE one is 32 GB like you want. The WHITE one is different and people really like it. The WHITE one is WHITE and different than BLACK. The WHITE one has a cool button. The WHITE one can even cook, wash dishes, and fulfill all your perverted wishes (OK, I made this one up ) He went on & on & on & on..... Finally, after an everlasting eternity of try to do an unsuccessful "hard" sale, he offered to call the Sisk Rd. AT&T store to see if they had a BLACK one in and "reserve it" for me. So I finally escaped this AT&T store, and restarted my car, which by now was heated by the sun to HOTTER THAN A DAMNED BLAST FURNACE! The AC finally cooled my car by the time I arrived at the other AT&T store. I went in with the delusion that the Sisk Ave. store may provide me with a BLACK iphone that .... was "waiting" for me. Silly delusional me! The Borg-like counter being only seemed to know how to tell me that there was an "indeterminate infinite" wait and they would put me into the "system", regardless of what I desired. So I said fine, as various evil thoughts of what I really wanted to say flew by, in my mind's eye. Even though the other AT&T place had the WHITE IPHONE OCD SYNDROME, they also had the benefit of the wonderful invention called "CHAIRS"! The McHenry Ave. AT&T store had a comfy cushioned puffy seat to sit on to watch U-Verse, while you waited in cool AC comfort, ....for your non-existent IPhone. The Sisk Ave. AT&T place did not have one chair in-site. With my cane in hand, I finally got an employee to recognize that I was in pain because of my handicap, and that I needed a F'in Chair. They finally dragged out an ugly folding hard uncomfy plastic chair just for me. A'INT I SPECIAL! After a seeming forever wait of about 20-30 minutes, they finally got to "help" me. They also of course "pushed" their overpriced accessories on me, for a good 5 additional minutes, before I began the process of signing contracts & ultimately paying tons of money for my new BLACK iphone. Finally, after even more delays, I took possession of the SHINY NEW BLACK IPHONE! Oh, it really hurts to pay a million dollars in tax on the pre-rebated I-phone... HOLY MOTHER OF G@D! I hope I never have to go to ANY AT&T store ever again! WHAT A SPECIAL HELL THEY HAVE CREATED JUST FOR US IPHONE USERS WHO DARE TO WANT TO CONTINUE A GOOD CONTRACT! BE ADVISED! I just learned this fact from ATT Customer service that if you buy a phone from the RETAIL STORE and your representative OPENS THE PACKAGING and sets up your phone, you will be subject to the $45 restocking fee should you return or exchange it. (You can only return an UNOPENED box for full refund). If you buy your device online, then you are NOT subject to the restocking fee if you return or exchange the opened device. My one star review is not against the store or employees as I have had good experiences in the past, but because of the return policy regarding store vs online purchase. I was not told about this restocking fee when I purchased my mother in law at flip phone for $59. I was only told by the manager, Tony, "if you have any problems, you have 14 days to return it". There was no mention of the restocking fee at the time of purchase. I had become complacent because of my past good experiences and was reminded by this experience take the time to to ask about the return policy in the future read more

I've done business at this location twice so far. The most recent visit was on a very busy day and I was still greeted immediately and was able to make my purchase and be on my way really fast. By far one of the best experience I had with AT&T. Came expecting a rep that were going to try and sell me every deal they had. Raul, was not like that at all! He did everything to get me the best bundle deals. Corporate did not want to work with him regarding closing my internet account and opening a new one to get the discount. But, he wasn't going down without a fight for me.. The fight for me paid off. Raul did mention the deal they're having but was not pressuring me. Gave me a good idea on what I could do to get the iPhone 8 for FREE without opening another line. Want a rep that will find the best deals and fight for you! What a joke. 12 year customer, walked into this store to add a new phone and line for my daughter on her birthday, only to be told its a 50 minute wait! Everyones standing around chit chatting. I could go 5 minutes in any direction to verizon or sprint, who would take my 2 year, several thousands of dollars agreement, in 10 minutes. On a good note, I got my daughter, my wife, mine, and my other daughter (4 phones) on a great new plan and the service was outstanding at Verizon. Thank goodness all our contracts were up. People have always warned me about this store, and to only be honest, I've always had OK experiences there... Until now. Also I should note this was a typical Thursday evening, no new phone release causing a crowd rush, just your average day. I had the most unpleasant experience setting up U-verse service at Sisk ATT. The agreement lacked any transparency, and I thoroughly felt worked into a deal. The employees were so unprofessional, and the managers were a reflection of the overall lackadaisical service. While U-verse was not my first choice, other providers had difficulty setting up service due to my location. It would seem that ATT is aware of this problem in the area, and customers use their service as a default. Try another location. read more

We are not AT&T customers. My mom recently bought a smartphone and was unable to find a case and screen cover for it at any of the big box stores in Modesto. We came in here as a last resort and they actually had the cover she needed for her new Samsung J3 phone. Miracle! The employee who helped us was Michael and he was fantastic. He was courteous, patient, and explained everything to my mom who is new to the world of the smartphone. He put her phone in the case for her, put the screen glass on, and really helped her feel confident about her purchase and protecting her phone. He took a lot of time talking with her and went above and beyond to locate the screen protector in the back of the store when it wasn't on the rack. I'd go here again for iPhone accessories even though I'm a Verizon customer - Michael was so nice, they absolutely deserve my business. read more

Where to start, the employees are very helpful and knowledgable however many seemed to just stand around and socialize with each other. The employee that did help me was awesome ( I forget his name darn!) I dropped my iPhone 4S into some water which made it worthless, however I was informed I had a upgrade and the employee helped me figure out the plan I wanted and what phone I should get ( settled for a Iphone 5C ). There were some technical problems so the process took a bit longer however the employee was very apologetic and I told him it was fine. He was very friendly and we had a great conversation about the military (since we were both connected to it) while he worked out the tech issues. read more

PLEASE READ!!! AT&T is a HORRIBLE company...this location NO EXCEPTION. AT&T used "BAIT & SWITCH" tactics to get me to sign up. I was paying $150/mo. at Verizon for 2 phones ALL INCLUSIVE. That's $150 for phones/installments, service, 24 gB of data, 2 gB additional, insurance, taxes, and it covered my iPad too. I'm pending disability and trying to save $$ where I can. I went into AT&T and first thing I said was "I pay $150 for...as above...I need to lower my bill!" I was quoted $130 by Raul. Said I'd think about it. I went in again, asked again, "It's $130...right?," "that's all inclusive right...phone pymnt, svc, insurance, etc?" And Raul again said "Oh yes, that's everything." Obviously desperate leaving Verizon after 18 yrs over $20. We went back in to activate...and that's where the fairy tale ends. 1. My bill is $200/mo. now 2. Raul is denying he said $130 3. Mgr can't believe he quoted "that little" 4. Agreed to pay the $130 quoted but ask for lower bill 5. All they could do: decrease data (from 16...really) or drop insurance (REALLY?) 6. Must be in good standing to get "switcher" money but because $70 unpaid they threaten 7. I owed Verizon near $1300 on phones alone. $650 for device trade in...My A$$. It looks like they're sending me much less if I ever do get it 8. Dealing with the mgr Tony mainly but had sit down with Rita the District Manager, she did pay $70 and took hold off my phones 9. They want to keep my phones if I leave. Ok...where are my old phones I'm still paying Verizon for? They are long gone. Ok then I leave with these phones PLUS release them and my phone #s to activate elsewhere. Not my problem you don't have a system in place to hold on to phones for ~90 days in case this comes up. My wife and I (previously with Verizon for 10+ years) went in to get added onto my family's AT&T plan (money saver). AT&T didn't have the Apple 6 in stock, so we went to the Apple store at Stoneridge Mall to purchase. Unfortunately, Apple Store screwed the transfer from Verizon to AT&T and we were in a clusterf**k. Luckily AT&T had a solution by the name of Zia, an AT&T sales consultant. Zia went up and beyond the call of duty to get our issue resolved. Thank you Zia for your exceptional customer service! Overall, I was very impressed with the entire AT&T staff as they readily handled dozens of customers following the Christmas holiday. read more

The customer service here is the worst I have experienced at any AT&T location. I came in to return 3 tablets/lines that were added to my account without my consent due to a sales person trying to benefit themselves. I spent 3 hours on the phone trying to resolve the issue and was directed to return tablets to store finally. The sales MANAGER told me I would be charged if I returned it in store and also I would have to wait a minimum of 30 minutes to even be helped and another 45minutes for them to return despite the fact that the fault was on AT&T's end. My phone was having issues w/ the new software (lollipop) and I went here for some advise and possible solutions. The 1st response from the employee was, "Your phone is too old. You need to update to the newest version." Really? I didn't have a flip phone and I didn't have the S3. I had the Note 3. The newest version was the 4!
