I went into the McHenry village store the other day and I usually dread going to at&t period because of prior experiences.This time I was helped by a gentleman I believe his name was David Barrera and I recieved the highest customer service possible..He was friendly,well informed and went out of his way to make sure I was getting the best deal with my combined direct tv phone and wifi package..thank you David and the rest of the staff at at&t!! read more

I am so frustrated because I went to AT&T and talk to Miranda to take me off of somebody's phone plan without them being there but I didn't know that both parties had to be there in person so basically what she did was create a new account under my name so now I'm stuck paying two phones. she told me I could turn in my old phone and get the new iPhone but now I have to give back the new phone and stay with my old phone. i'm so upset because she told me that she would be able to help me get off of the other persons plan but now I'm having to pay double. i'm not sure why she's working there if she didn't know what she was doing because I was told later on that both parties have to be there when a person is switching to a different line. now I have to pay an extra $50 to return the new phone because the box is open but I don't think I should pay an extra 50 when I already paid $86 for taxes on the new phone read more

First of all For could I would give them no stars I've been going to the store for six years to pay payment for my iPhone since I have service with AT&T for the past year and a half their service sucks went in today they tell me I have to sign in because their machine is broken to pay payments this has been going on for the past six months, or more every time I try to pay payments I waited over an hour, you can't even make payments to your TV service or your Internet service this is ridiculous people walking out I waited and waited to make my payment they had a representative working on the machine the manager told the worker leave it and go take care of the customers , I got frustrated I went up to the person that takes the people that walk in and add you to the list I told him well how many reps do you have here right now working...He looked around & counted well we have 6 and 2 managers and I said well I've been waiting a while I said all I wanna do is just make a payment & and leave .. and he said well you have to wait for your name to be called .. & another thing I never knew that it took 2 reps to sell and iPhone after 1 already sold A phone to a customer then the second rep comes out of nowhere and has to actually give it to a customer and not help someone that is waiting to be helped, then when they're done with that customer they turn around and not help nobody else they go in the back and do not come out to help anybody.. this AT&T store has the worst service ever they need to fix the self-service machines that they have which are only two for people can pay the payments not everybody has Apple Pay online emails to pay online debit or credit cards for they can pay online people still pay straight cash and want a receipt as proof of payment!! I would have given this place 5 stars if they had a better selection of bluetooth headsets among other accessories. The customer service is A+++. The staff here knows the value of customer service (unlike the staff at the at&t in Ceres, on Hatch Rd.). I don't know why but when I visit the bike shop, the Sunflower grocery store or the pastry shop (all near this at&t store), I'm drawn to this at&t store even just to window shop. It's probably for the selection of mobile devices or probably the friendly atmosphere due to the service the staff provides. They've earned my business till they close down or till I switch to another phone company (which won't happen for a long time). read more

Went in there the other day because my phone had no service on it. Worked with Dustin and he was very helpful! Got me a new phone and he said bring it in and he can help me set up the new phone when I got it because I had to order one. So went back in there and the manager was checking everyone in and he was the biggest jerk ever!!!! I couldn't believe that a manager out of all employees were so rude and had the worst attitude. He told us he wasn't going to help me set up my phone he's to busy for that. He said it's sunny and a nice day outside that he has to many people to help then he said call customer service and they can help. I couldn't believe it! My husband called a few days before that and got the same manager and he was rude on the phone. We will definitely be taking our service and cell phone service else where. The district manager sure needs to rethink his management because that is definitely NOT a good manager at all. If he treats his customers so rude how does he treat his employees. Frustrated by the customer service we didn't receive with AT&T (McHenry Village)! I went a month ago to see about moving from our current phone service to AT&T. I did make the mistake of not making an appointment and waited 1 hour to get a rep, which was my fault. I made all the arrangements and ordered our phones and had to wait til Dec 15-22nd for the 12's to come in. Then we get an email claiming there was a "snag" in your order and canceled our order two days after we were to receive our phones. Many attempts to fix it later made an appointment with our Rep for us to come in and get us three set up. We get there and then get told only one family member can come in the store; which we understand, but would of love to have been told that before my husband took the day off work to come down. Then we just tell them to forget it because that's frustrating to sit in a cold truck and I don't want to run my gas up waiting because we'd have to do the whole process again. We're half way home to get called by the manager to make the exception to let us in to set up our three phones and three watches. I told her a little too late. So now in the comfort of our home our phone company just upgraded us and I got my watch. Sorry AT&T you lost good customers!!! Thank you Verizon for the awesome hook up!!! read more

The staff is very helpful. When their pay machines were down they went as fast as they could to get people in and out. After one of the staff showed me how to use the new pay machine I like it a lot better than the old one. read more

This review is actually for the overall dissatisfaction with AT&T service in general. Actually the store at McHenry Village has always had the best service, and at times a bit slow as this is a very busy store. The regional manager could not help with my incorrect phone account issues. The automated CSRs were of no help! They always have different answers to the same questions. There is no need to harass customers for coming to your store. The man working door security split up an older couple ahead of me in line, making the female wait outside. And then berated a man about 60 for being out. We wouldn't be out unless it was necessary. I left and went to the Oakdale Rd location. No issues at this store. I went to AT and T McHenry Ave this morning to ask them teaching me how to transfer Photos someone Texted me to the third party. I asked the greeter to show me instead of waiting for 1 hour and 45 min. He said yes first, when I tried to find third party's number , he became very inpatient and told me he was not going to spend a long time showing me how to do it. Instead he was busy reading his e mails and watching his video. In fact there was no one else waiting behind me. His first name is Sergio. I bought more than 5 iphones from this store, and 3 iPad from this store, and my e mail carrier and my telephone is also i AT and T. The bill I paid to them is about $175 per month. It has been O K in the past, but waiting time is always terribly long. I have quite a bit of frustration sfrom them. Bu this is the first time I have encountered the biggest LOSER in this store. I talked to the manager, but I did not want to make a big scene there. I went to Apple store in Vantage Fair, their greeter taught me how to do it in less than 3 minutes. Folks, from now on I will not buy anything from AT and T, I will cancel my AT and T account when the term is up. I will tell all my family members , friends and all my patients "WE HAVE OTHER CHOICES" Stop dealing with the losers at AT and T stores. If we are to be treated like trash, don't go to them, go to Apple stores directly, you will get the first class treatment there by people who really knows. I went in with my husband today (left around 730pm) and Isaac helped us. All I can say is .... PHENOMENAL customer service!!! Usually their workers are rude or just in a hurry to get us over with. However, Isaac took the time to be very informative to me and my husband. He was very knowledgeable and most importantly he had excellent customer service and that is everything to us, well, to anyone I should say. He conversed and had a great personality while still maintaining professionalism! We will be back to see just him. I've been to this location on more than one occasion and every time it has been a terrible experience. Thank you again for all of your help and knowledge, we feel really happy and content with our visit today. Will be returning for our 8 year old and look forward to the excellent help and care we received. This guy deserves the yelp review! Absolutely amazing, it was totally not his job to have to interact with my daughter but he went above and beyond giving her papers to draw on etc to keep her occupied and keep me sane . This is the worst att store I've been to. I honestly think I will be switching back to Verizon after today. They have the worst customer service. I was calmly explaining my situation and casually joked that "this is the 100th time I'm telling this to someone" and Rodney the manager was so cold in his response. I understand that his store is technically loosing money but seriously you work in customer service. At the end he said he would credit my account and I asked for a receipt but he said he couldn't give me one. So now he's said "you can wait" so that he can credit my account and I write this lengthy review as I wait. Went in to buy an Apple 12.9" IPad Pro. On my way to work limited time so when I arrived I ask the guy who queues the customers up to be helped (often a long wait to have you name called) if he could do a quick Check to see if the above item was in stock if so I would gladly wait for my name to be called. I didn't want to waste my my or theirs if out of stock. Ophie the manager came over and inquired as what I was was requesting. Her attitude and body language suggested that she wasn't to excited about having to go back get a quick answer for me on in stock (256k version) she checked came back said no we don't have it (with the same bad attitude etc..) "what about the more expensive 512k version" is it available? "I don't know you'll have to wait" fine I waited 60min plus for my name to called only to fine out all they had was the 256k all along. (The appointment guy at the front door had recommended the 512k version while i was hangout waiting). I wasn't trying to cut in line I only asked a quick 60 seconds inventory check to the front door guy doing nothing at that time instead I got a 60 min complete waist of time. Great job Ophie! Not all AT&T locations are created equal. However, this location, though it is almost always busy, is fast and quick to get in and out of. The staff is nice and accommodating. As a tech writer for http://dailyappshow.com, I am visiting AT&T often to switch out phones and activate different sim cards. They have a system to make sure you get helped in the order you arrived so it frees you up from having to wait in lines and gives you a chance to go play with new devices and check out cases. read more

They told me it would be about a 45-minute wait and after only about 15 minutes of helping a few customers who had probably waited a while before I arrived, they assisted me in the brief task of changing my line from my current 8GB iPhone 4S to my husband's 16GB one. I had a problem with ATT direct shipping a beautiful bling iPhone 6 case since October. The staff at this store were helpful on 3 separate occasions in trying to get it shipped directly to me but it never came. By Christmas I had forgotten about the case and was going in to exchange Bluetooth earphones for a newer model with retractable earbuds. The manager tony and customer experience manager Rodney recognized me and greeted me by name. They said how do you like your case? When I shared that I had never received it they were shocked and determined to track one down for me no matter what it took. Both Rodney and tony reached out to several stores. Natalia, a CSR, also was determined to find the case. In two days they located and had this elusive case shipped their store and texted me upon its arrival. This store goes above and beyond to guarantee a 5-star customer experience that exceeds expectations. For all of my phone and accessory needs they are my go to location. I've only been a customer for 4 months and they are already sending out their 3 rd service technician. I would have been happier if they came out and said we can't service this area. Nice, clean, big, spacious store. Someone's there to greet you as soon as you walk in, and see what you're coming in for. The people working there are really helpful. They'll check in with you to see how you're doing, but won't keep bothering you, which I really appreciate when trying to shop and compare for myself. They'll help when you ask for it. Had to come back and edit this again, of course. :/ My first review was because one of the managers was giving me the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life, (he's a short bald fellow whose name starts with N.) It's one thing to avoid talking to your customers because you're busy, it's another to stand in the corner on your iPad and refuse to acknowledge us. After finally coming over not only did he avoid eye contact but you could tell by his body language that not only was he not properly trained, but he didn't want to help us. I was not rude, I didn't even raise my voice. (I myself have been a manager before and know how to handle these type of situations.) He didn't even try to help me, in fact he even cut me off half way and left me mid-sentence. So I contacted their corporate and of course, they said they were going to take care of it on my next bill. I got my next bill and they didn't fix it. I called them and they said the representative that helped me "resolve" my issue didn't leave notes, and refused to help me further. I don't have time for this. I can't believe there's a company with WORSE customer service than Comcast. So much for being a 20+ year customer! read more

Horrible customer service... the managers have no sense of customer service at all... I asked a manager a simple question "where are the chargers located?" ...his response was "I can't help you, I'm in the middle of something right now." This person was sitting by himself and obviously not "In the middle of something" ..he was not even helping another customer! How could you be in the middle of something when you're just sitting there alone, looking around at people in the store? NOT ONLY WAS HE JUST SITTING THERE BY HIMSELF, HE WAS LOOKING AROUND AT PEOPLE FOR A GOOD 20 MINUTES AFTER I ASKED HIM A SIMPLE QUESTION. "MANAGERS" ARE LAZY, RUDE, AND HAVE NO SENSE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE....STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION IF POSSIBLE. ..... BTW, you have to be the one saying 'hello' first as if I were the one working there as a customer service rep....these "managers" are either just plain dumb or purposely trying to ignore customers....I don't understand why they are working here if they aren't nice and wanting to help you out!!!! I've been an AT&T customer for over 10 yrs., and this store is my favorite one to browse for cell phones. I do wish that they carried more of a selection of cases, but with such a large selection of phones maybe it's too much to expect at one place. The customer service is the best that I've experienced in the many AT&T stores I've visited. Very helpful staff who are familiar with their products. This store is always clean and well maintained. Do NOT go to this ATT store! The employees don't know how to solve problems and prefer interacting with their devices than interacting with customers. Today I went to the ATT store located on McHenry and Granger. There were more employees than customers. The employees were very engaged with their devices.The young woman who greeted me noted my reasons for being there and told me to wait in my car for 5-10 minutes. She asked for my cel number so I could be notified when I could re-enter. Since I parked close to the entry door I could easily view other customers entering and departing. After 40" passed and disgusted with the lengthy wait with no notification, I re-entered and was greeted by another employee as if I was entering the store for the first time..So then I had to restate the purpose for being there. He said he could help me. He proceeded to tell me that the accidentally deleted history on my IPAD could not be restored which was my purpose for being there. Although I continued to press for the retrieval of the many important history items, he just kept saying nothing can be retrieved. This is not believable since law enforcement can retrieve information from electronic devices. So I wasted valuable time during my opportunity to run errands and when was charged $20 for a short charging cord. read more

Went into this location a year ago to upgrade my phone, was repeatedly told to get rid of my unlimited data (I am grandfathered in) because AT&T was going to "get rid of it by April 2015" anyways. It's December 2015, still have that unlimited data plan. Scammers! read more

Be careful when signing contracts there. The sales folk can be misleading. Good store otherwise.

Ripoff they scam you with a bogas upgrade and tell you there's in extra 30.00 (A MONTH) charge on each phone and a 1 time upgrade fee of 36 on each line and a 2 year contract ... So your going to pay over 1750.00 a year for the phones.... So sad how almost every business is a scam... I have 4 lines threw them but not for long... read more
