I needed to visit an AT&T store to figure out what to do with my deceased mother's cellphone account. There was a store very convenient to me on 71st that had very helpful workers, but for this particular situation, I needed a manager, and the store near me did not ever seem to have a manager present, and additionally, that 71 street store was strangely structured so there is no assistant manager(?) - the workers there told me an assistant manager could help me, so I asked where their assistant manager was, and they said they didn't have one. They advised me to call to see if the manager was in before coming. So I started to call around and found this 125 store, where there was no question, the manager was there. When I visited, Darling, the manager at this branch was so kind, generous with his time, had a great energy, he was understanding, knowledgeable, and wonderfully helpful. He was also kind to his workers, who would come to him for help, and he was kind to me... offered a lot of great advice, and was able to help me feel calm about something that was a big emotional part of my grieving puzzle. Anyway. I'm so grateful that I was able to work with this manager who so clearly loves helping people and loves his job. I am grateful that he is at a store near me, and am glad in advance for anyone who gets to work with his great energy. I'm still not completely done with the process, but I know what I want is very specific, and I am glad to be working with the good people at this branch. read more

I'm giving it 3 stars due to them not honoring my request. My husband passed away 2 months ago and I submitted the death certificate for them to change it over into my name. It has not been done. I already had feelings about showing them his death certificate but now to learn that they have not completed the process is so disrespectful. Now AT&T is telling me that I would have to go back to the store again. This isn't going well and all its doing is creating feelings in me. I had a phone to trade AT&T showed on online trade-in value of about $800. I got my new phone and returned my trade-in. We had proof of delivery, but AT&T insisted they never got it. My wife corresponded on this issue and finally gave in and we lost $800. Once burned, twice shy, right? Last week I went to the AT&T store at 81 W 125th St, New York, NY 10027, to make arrangements to trade in my Samsung Note Ultra and avoid the debacle of the last phone exchange. While the woman who handled my visit was very nice, she was unable to order my Fold 5 phone as pre-orders were only possible online. She did look at my phone for trade and told me the difference would be about $800. My wife and I went back to the same store Saturday. The store is supposed to open at 10:00 am. The store did not open until 10:15. A young man took our order for a Fold 5. I said I wanted a blue phone. He said it didn't come in blue. Odd because it is in blue on the AT&T website. He said we had to pay tax on about $800 and we did. An email hit the inbox this morning showing a FLIP 5 is about to deliver to the AT&T store, the wrong phone. I walk over to the same AT&T store. I see the young man that made the transaction for me. Do you remember me? Blank stare. I was in with my wife a few days ago to order a blue Fold 5? Oh yes. We ordered the wrong phone. I show him the email. He checks a few things on his tablet. Speaks with a manager and then tells me they cannot do anything until the phone arrives. It is a 20-minute walk there and back. It is a workday. FedEx is showing delivery in an hour and 40-minutes. I'll eat an early lunch and work from my phone. I have now been to the same AT&T store three times. I return for the fourth time after the FedEx delivery time is past and they say the phone is not there, can I come back? Nope. I am done. Cancel my order. We cannot cancel your order because it has already been shipped. I have been to the same AT&T store FOUR times. They want me to come back a FIFTH time after the wrong phone is delivered. That will require a SIXTH trip to pick up the new phone and trade in my current phone. When they have configured the phone and completed the data transfer (the last time took three hours) yet another trip, a SEVENTH trip. My time has value just as yours does and the only reason we are not using the convenience of ordering online is because of the trade-in issue with my last phone... I am a reasonable man making a reasonable request. Please correct the order to a Fold 5 at ZERO cost to me. I will still trade in my already inspected and approved Samsung Note ULTRA, but I want the Fold 5 at ZERO cost. If you cannot meet my terms, cancel Order # 50-310000028498838 immediately and I will begin shopping for a new carrier. If AT&T does not want my business and the other four lines and phones, I will take offers from T-Mobile and Verizon. Legitimately an awful experience and I would avoid this store if any other AT&T store is an option. For one, the employees were not helpful and it took me hours to upgrade my phone. The employees took about an hour just to get me a receipt. It is insane that you can work at an AT&T store and not know how to print a receipt associated with a transaction. Secondly, I left the store and had phantom charges I never agreed to on my next bill. Again, a horrid experience that will leave you with wasted time and money. read more

Went into the store to look into getting service and the guy who was allegedly helping me decided to one lie to me and tell me I had to pay a down payment. I then told him I would think about it, but he also went and opened an account in my name once I left the store. I now know this because I keep receiving emails in regards to an account that I never opened. And I have received several notifications from experian in regards to people trying to open other things in my name. I do not recommend going to this location. They are scam artist . Was not interested in traveling 40 blocks out of my way to visit my AT&T - though I more than love the experiences I've gotten from every other branch. Those 1.5 stars discouraged me but I was short on time, it's 40° F outside, I'm with my mother-in-law and it's a few blocks from my house. So I schedule my appointment online and hope for the best. As soon as we enter we are greeted by Antonio. I let him know that we have an appointment and he asks how he can help while he checks his iPad. As he walks us to our seat and checks out the appointment and then proceeds to assist us as well as any other AT&T store I've ever been in. Perfect as always. Antonio was cordial and helpful and all the things you'd expect, but he also checked all of the boxes I know the stores must teach - like the walk to the door to say thank you and good bye. It's a small thing, but I'm always in a better mood when I leave. So here's my 5 stars to help pick up the happiness at this spot. read more

This store sold me a nightmare. I was great with simple mobile. $50 a month no surprises. Att switched me over n every month there hidden charges, late fees without a bill, I was paying for a 3rd line n was credited $325, then manually charged with no reason n credited $225, I have called every month for 5 months since I opened the acct. It's a total nightmare and I'm held hostage woth that's of destroying my credit, Whenever I called to cancel my contact I've been left on hold for 45 min to 2hrs n hung up on twice. They never have a supervisor available when I've asked to pay out my contact. They offer my discounts that have never appeared and now I'm going I'm too the store to pay our n close out account. My Significant Other purchased a Samsung S22 Mobile phone. A Tech representative at the AT&T store transferred his information from his previous S21 phone. However, when My Significant Other started using his new phone. He noticed some things were different about the interface. We tried to figure it out, to no avail. He went to another AT&T store. The Tech representative didn't resolve the issue. We decided to go to another AT&T store. This was the third store. We spoke to a Tech representative. She was helpful, but she couldn't figure out the problem. She told us Julian Lewis ( retail sales/business consultant ) would be knowledgeable in resolving the phone issue. Julian had a cool, professional demeanor. At first, he was confused about the issue. But, he asked us a few questions and looked through the phone. THEN, he figured out the problem. Presto! Julian made our day. Not only did he resolved my Significant Other phone issue. We learned a few things about apps and technology. If you need assistance or want to buy / upgrade to a new phone. I think I've noticed the low ratings on here are from people who are a bit impatient with waiting. First of all, you live in NYC, and you're going to an AT&T off a busy street. If you want a shorter wait time, I suggest a smaller city, or town if you prefer. Just look for a low population you'll be fine. Anyways, been here twice in the last year for new phones. Each time I've been helped, the staff has been exceptional. I forgot the name of the girl who first helped me in August, but Antoine helped me yesterday. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made a VERY stressful day for me a little bit better. What I liked about my experience is that it wasn't overly stiff and professional. It felt like sitting down with a friend. Anyways, from what I noticed is that all the staff works pretty hard here, and were constantly moving to work through the list of names in the queue. I'd come here again, let's hope I don't have to for awhile tho. read more

STAY AWAY!! I wish I can give this location a ZERO! Oswald the sales associate was more concern about the closing time than trying to help me out with a good deal. (That should had been my Que. to leave) I went in to purchase a samsung Note 3 for my brother by adding a new line to our family plan, as well as purchasing an Apple IPad 4 128gb. This would sound like good commission right? And you would try to please your costumer right? .... WRONG! I wanted to get the two year contract deal, but somehow Oswald convinced me in getting the Next plan for 12 months. I thought it was a great deal no contract for both the Note 3 and iPad. Oswald made it seem that I was saving a lot more money.... WRONG AGAIN! You're really involve in a 20 month contract that you'll have to pay in order to keep both items. Which means that you're paying full retail price for the phone. I told him that a new phone # matters to me and I would like to choose my own and he quickly selected one because the store was closing and that was going to take time. Off course I had him change. I had to explain to him that a simple phone # is very much important to me. As for the iPad, I was willing to pay full price but he convince me about the next plan which means that I mandatory have go pay for a minimal data plan of $15 a month. In the mist of all the gadgets and plan purchase, I figure maybe he can throw in a couple of case covers and accessories at a discounted rate. WRONG! He called the manager Chris, whom instead of helping me out with a good deal he stated that only Postal Service can get a %50 discount. I stated that sometimes a simple discount of a purchase can make or brake a deal (purchase) and that I've been offer 40% discounts before from my city worker plan. Chris the Manager had the nerves to tell me that I came all the way across town to their location because I was making a purchase regardless and smirked when he said that. I told him these are just material items and not necessaries. And I can walk out anytime! He smirked again. Smh Oswald had his head down the whole time because he knew I was boiling after the managers comment. Why I bought the items I don't know. But I will be returning everything tomorrow. I had gone back to speak to Oswald and he totally disregarded me and was talking to another costumer that came after me thinking he was going to make another deal. He never offered me the accessories in which he had promised and stated that he can not change my next plan to a contract. No help whatsoever, it was a different Oswald. The manager and employees lie to make sales. I told them my current bill with Verizon, they assured me it would be cheaper. It was not so I went back to cancel, he claimed to have fixed it and told me to wait until the next bill knowing. When I went back they told me the return period had passed. Went in and put my name in the queue. They said probably 20 minute wait and they would call me. Left and came back 15 min later and my name was taken off. Put my name back in and to save time placed my order online from my phone. Waited again and when they went to get the phone they couldn't find it so they told me they didn't have it, even though it let me place the order online meaning it was in stock. While I was there I watched a guy wait about 30 minutes to be rung up for something. The employees were nice but if you're looking to actually purchase anything, go to another location. read more

These people completely screwed me by signing me up for a cell plan I didn't want. Of course I didn't read the pages and pages of print so fine you'd need a magnifying glass - I trusted what they said to my face. Now a year later, I've apparently been on a different plan from what they told me and my phone cannot be upgraded as promised. I'm on a plan where the upgrade takes 6 months longer and 2X as much money as they said. After hours of arguing with someone online, I've basically been told, "your 20 year loyalty means nothing and in order to change anything, it'll cost 700 hundred dollars." So I'm working on the cheapest way to get out of any relationship with At&T and into one with a different company. read more

Worst experience ever! After a pleasant experience signing up with ATT at the 2195 Broadway location, my S7 Edge had to be exchanged because of an issue with the camera. I live in Harlem so used this location to exchange the phone. No one greeted me so I asked and was directed to the back where the only employee who was pleasant helped determine my camera was defective and sent me to a guy to swap the phone out. After running the same test the girl ran on my phone he said "I see nothing wrong with the phone" I referred him to the girl who helped me. So he starts to swap out the phone to find the wrong color was placed in the wrong box. We track down thw right phone and finish the transaction. Fast forward to today, I decide to swap out my black S7 Edge for the new coral blue color which wasn't available when I signed up. Luckily the store on the Upper West Side had the phone and I went there. When doing the swapout, they discovered that the guy at the 125 store totally entered my contract information wrong when he swapped out my phone. Now the UWS store is taking an hour to fix his mistake while I sit and type a yelp review. read more

After losing my phone, I went to purchase a new phone since I needed an upgrade anyway and was due for one. I was greeted by a salesperson named Santana. I went in there to strictly get a new phone but just like a salesperson he was trying to get me to buy a tablet, smart watch and a whole box of other electronic shit I wasn't interested in purchasing. So finally after turning down everything we get to my new phone (galaxy s8 awesome phone!). I have a family plan and after giving him my phone number and id card numerous times he still messed up and set the new phone up under my family member's phone number thus rendering their phone unusable until they come to the store to get a new sim card. Such a fucking inconvenience! He clearly didn't seem to know what he was doing and had to involve several other workers to fix his fuck up. The overall process took at least an extra 30 minutes of my time. At&t should focus on training their staff to pay attention to detail and what the customer actually wants instead of trying to sell me on a bunch of electronics that no one asked to see. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I sat there for almost 40 min before someone even greeted me to sign me in when at the time there was only 3 people in the store and 5 associates. It was after an hour an associate finally came over to help me that he said there was nothing he could do. All I came for was to have my phone activated. I would recommend never using this location. I had to go to the location and with the reviews I expected horrible service but i didn't have a choice. I was greeted as soon as I entered the store and was checked in. I waited 5 minutes and a rep got me.. Imagine it was Oswald. I was skeptical because of one reviewer issues with him. Well he was absolutely great with me. I don't know if that day was an off day or what but the service I got from him was top notch. He gave me some suggestion that would save me some money. Sold me an ipad air that I didn't go in for but I was planning on buying it in the future. He gave me a discount on a case and a screen protector. He linked my plenti account to AT&T (thought it was only a rite aid thing) and walked me through now to switch my data from my old ipad to the new one I just got. I don't know what happened with the other reviewer but my experience here was wonderful. I will go to this store than the one closer to me because I prefer the better customer service. BTW the manager Manny did come over and ask about my satisfaction not sure if that was because of the bad reviews or not but they have a customer in me. read more

This store went down hill when they got rid of Mike G in early 2016. He was the nicest most honest employee, but they got rid of him due to a single customer complaint. When you go there though they tell you another story. I know the lady to complained about him, she did it so she could get a free watch. She suckered the company and got the best employee they ever had fired. It's a shame AT&T doesn't care about their employees, or their customers. Firing Mike G was the biggest mistake this company ever had. Please tell them that you want Mike G back, because he was honest and cared about his customers. Although their are some helpful associates at this location, overall the store does not care to help with customer service issues. ZERO STARS!!! This is the Worst and when I say WORST!!! ABSOLUTE WORST AT&T store that I have ever been in. My experience at this store has solidified the decision to leave AT&T! I can't even complain about one person in particular because everyone in the entire store was horrible. I waited over 2 hours for them to "fix" something that should not have happened in the first place which was my phone being reported as lost / stolen. I NEVER did this by the way and my phone was perfectly fine just not working properly. I end up leaving with my phone registered to the wrong sim and no contacts and once again have to call customer service who makes "notes" tells me she has NO IDEA how this happened and tells me to I have to go back to the store! REALLY AT&T?? If you don't know what you are doing ask someone! Don't just do the wrong thing and create an even bigger problem! This location sucks. AT&T is horrible, especially when dealing with these issues where they make you explain yourself over and over again to take "notes" that they never read!
